I have been coming to Jack Frost since we moved in to oak forest 8 years ago and have never had a problem with this facility. The staff is wonderful the ice cream is great and the service is exceptional. This post was really hard for me to make but I feel like it’s my job to inform others. On Wednesday July 14 my husband and I ordered a cone and strawberry sundae. My husband noticed two ants stuck to his ice cream cone and we ended up checking my sundae which was perfectly fine. I’m not sure if this was an isolated issue with the cones but I’m very disappointed that this happened especially after seeing another review made on the same day we experienced this issue.

Awesome menu! Long lines but they go quickly. Accepts cash and debit or credit cards which is awesome! Definitely enough seating for families but little parking lot. Worth it tho!

7/18/21 We Adore coming in the mornings because it is never busy and the sweetest employees work in the mornings. This morning we were rudely greeted this morning by an older employee I Have never seen her at this facility before and I Surely don’t believe she knew what she was doing. Our Speciality sundae was missing whip cream - ice cream overall still taste good but the customer service of this particular employee should be fixed.

I ordered for carry out and when I got home I found a long black hair in my ice cream. I called the store twice now and both times the lady on the phone hung up on my face. Unbelievable!

Not a sit down store.. strictly take out. They have a few picnic benches. Ice cream is soft serve. Sundaes..banana splits..other varieties. Their ice cream is soft serve and delicious

I come here every week on Tuesday mornings with my grandkids. The sweetest employee works weekly and has such a positive attitude and always treats my grandkids so well they cannot wait when it’s Jack Frost day! Thank you Jack Frost!!!!!

Went to Jack Frost today, had a great experience. Staff was great with the grandkids. Was very clean, I recommend any of the supremes if you guys go!

Love bringing my grandchildren here. Their ice cream is good have different varieties. Can sit outside & eat. Staff is kind.. Im greatful to make memories with my grandchildren here the way I did with my sons . Very few of our Mom & Pop places around anymore.

Went to get ice cream Thursday with my girls, not sure if it was because we had a big group but the girl (girl had very long braided hair) calling our order out was very rude to us and closed the window in our faces. Thankfully the taste of our ice cream was good.

If I could I’d give this institution a 0 star rating, we always liked coming here but lately it’s been bad service. I came to get some sherbert yesterday with my family, not only did it take forever but I asked the little Indian girl for a container to carry my things home. Let me tell you guys this girl had an attitude issue she yelled at me for wanting a container. That is so unprofessional for an institution to have rude employees DO BETTER.

DIRTY! the girl on the window said I shouldn’t order something cause the product is expired and her boss won’t let her throw it out. i also found a rat on the premises running around by the back who knows how it looks inside. Shouldn’t be serving customers like that.

Very good portion, tasty, but i wouldn’t try the ones from the freezer.

The quality of this place has dropped over the years. The tables and countertops are always dirty, they have a piece of plastic hanging off the window that’s also dirty filled with ice cream and fingerprints. Can’t imagine how dirty it is inside considering the outside is dirty and my ice cream came out half melted and sloppy looking. Will be sticking to Whiteys on Oak Park Ave.

I ordered a small strawberry and pineapple smoothie. It had small pieces of pineapple in it which I love. You could taste the freshness of the strawberries and pineapple flavors combined together. I couldnt give it a 5 rating because the soft serve ice cream wasnt blended in as well as it should have been and there was no fruit in the bottom. Overall I still enjoyed the smoothie and will probably purchase again. May try a different flavor for variety.

Only two of the four employees had masks last night big issue for a food place considering there is a pandemic going around which is only getting worse again and us elderly should feel safe getting ice cream what a shame

Awesome family owned shop.

Came here for the first time two days ago. It took about 10 minutes for my family and I to decide what we wanted. The staff was very friendly to give us recommendations but the front of the store is very hectic and unorganized which leads me to say we probably won’t be returning here anytime soon. It’s easier for the kiddos to have a clear cut choice like at Dairy Queen.

A wonderful place to visit and enjoy some delicious ice cream in all sorts of forms. Chocolate dips, shakes, fruit mixes, just to name a few.A MUST PLACE TO GO!

This place is an Oak Forest institution and has the best soft serve in the South Suburbs. The offer ice cream, treats, and more. Now, you may ask what they mean by ...and more. For me, the ...and more is that nostalgic feeling I get while having a dipped twist cone. Each time I come here I harken back to little league baseball and coming here with the team after a win. There is a reason why Jack Frost has been around for so long. Come out and see for yourself.

The employee was really sweet. The ice cream was good, well packaged, and delicious. She even opened up and served my family even though we were a bit early.I recommend the strawberry shortcake sundae, the brownie sundae, and the simple twist on a cone.

First time here and all I can say is Yummy! My son treated me. Delicious, free ice cream! What could be better? Ill be back.

I love this place, great ice cream. I’ve been coming here as a little girl and now I bring my kids here it’s a great place for families. There are new owners since Peggy and Dale but they’re nice too. I really think Jack Frost should stick to closing on Labor Day it’s what the community is use to it

As usual Jack Frost is the best place for all your ice cream dreams. Had a mango smoothie OMG it was mouth watering delicious. Cant say enoigh. And their service is impeccable. I could go on aboit Jack Frost but Id rather have everybody try it youll like it.

Raining cats and dogs on the south side... So I decided to stop by a Oak Forest staple Jack Frost on 159th St. So glad we did stop, my kids were beyond happy with there cones and clown sundaes. We definitely we stop back rain or shine.

The only reason this place is getting four stars is because of the young girls working there. Rachel and Michelle are hands down the best employees at this business. Rachel always greets customers with a smile and her positive attitude makes for a good time at this business. Michelle is the sweetest employee she is caring and always makes sure every customer is happy. She even takes the time to provide great customer service by getting to know each customer and remembering the small detials. For the other person on this review that said Michelle gave a dirty look I dont think this was intentional I think that is just her resting face because she is very very kind when interacting with each and every customer. As for the other young girls you can tell they are new to customer service but eager to learn. The new owner is where this business lost a star from my review. Vanita is unprofessional for a business owner. She doesnt seem to care about the business. She sits in the back on her phone instead of interacting with her employees. She should be helping her employees work when it gets busy instead of sitting on her laptop. She doesnt interact with the customers like the old owners used to and so she is not building up customer relationships. Customers come back to this business because of the relationship they build with the workers. In this case people only come back for the young girls working and not the owner. Thats why they are losing business. There are other ice cream businesses in the neighborhood and if Vanita doesnt work on building better customer relationships this business will fail. If she has a bad relationship with customers I dont know how she can be managing her employees. She doesnt seem to respect them and care about them like the old owners did.Overall this place needs work under the new management.
