$10-12 used T-shirts, $40-$50 or more used shoes, $35 sweatshirts… I thought this was a thrift store? This place used to be amazing but within the last six months they turned into retail store pricing.Not sure if their plan is for people to wait until half-price day, but I am severely disappointed at this location in particular. I frequently go to many of the value worlds in the Detroit area and this one by far is the most expensive without a doubt. I will be spending more time at the other locations, or at a retail store where I can find pricing cheaper.

This store has my heart. Ive been going here for years and always will continue to come here. I find so much good stuff and the prices are good. The coupon for half off is amazing. Every time I come here my cart is filled to the top with good finds. Staff is very nice as well !

I use to love shopping at this location...until recently. I dont know if its due to new greedy management, but the prices here are atrocious. Its used clothing and they are charging close to MSRP for stuff. The other Value World locations in the area are nowhere near these prices.

Came here to buy some sweatpants. Found a couple pairs that fit. When I went to the register the cashier would not sell them to me because the tags had come off. Tried to speak to a manager and they told me to come back after they were re-tagged the next day. I left my name and number. A couple days later I returned and the pants were gone and no other pants fit. Terrible experience going to this place for sweatpants and leaving empty-handed twice because of a poorly thought out policy

A few of the lady employees I’ve encountered here have been sweet & helpful. Prices are a bit higher than other locations I’ve been to, but they do have new items each time I go... especially up front. Overall no complaints. I am a Value World fan!

I love the thrift, 20 years ago prices were cheaper yeah yeah yeah inflation, but it’s the truth I would give it five stars but there’s no reason for a lot of the prices to be three times as much as they used to be some of the items and Store are in OK condition in good condition not enough to charge $10 for polo shirt but I figure they figure they can get more money for namebrand Items. They have seasonal half off of everything couponsThey also run the color of the week Coupons, sometimes there are Special half off days like half off of linens have all of the toys Apple men’s women’s etc. but I just don’t like the fact that they closed all the value world in City Of Detroit

Terrible over priced a lot of things that were worn really bad also over priced. You could go to MALL and get better deals. Being in this situation where its hard cause of this virus makes things so hard.. I remember when I and my family donate all of time Now doing this time were looking for some help. came to a resale shop and cant really afford much there its VERY SAD. Even the workers wont help if youre in NEED. wont take nothing off price you cant get a coupon unless its Christmas. I came to get some household stuff and a few pants and t-shirts socks with the few things I had and needed my things came up to $97.57 had to put things back. ONCE things get back in order for me and family GOD WILLING I will never donate to VALUE WORLD AGAIN

The store is fairly large so it does have a lot of stuff to sort through which could be great for some people. I’ve been shopping here for the last few years and usually go once or twice a month.When they have their 50% off coupons through the mail or email list, this makes the store pretty solid, however, otherwise the store can get very expensive.For a thrift store, when I go see $20-$30 pairs of used shoes, eight dollar T-shirts, $12 polos, etc. it’s almost shopping at retail pricing for a thrift shop.They do have good stuff, but their pricing I feel has definitely gone up as of late. Their store shelves do not turn over very often, which I believe is due to the high pricing, so the store has gotten a little stale to me as of lateI will continue to shop here, however my expectations have been lowered from what I previously enjoyed of this location.I will say, the store staff at the register is usually very friendly, which is one reason I will continue to go here.

Prices have shot up in the last 4 years. I saw a basic long sleeve t-shirt for $11.80 the other day. It wouldve been $5 max at any other thrift store.

Clean and well organized but items too pricey for a thrift store

I went at 3pm. Maybe it would be better first thing in the morning, because all the sizes were mixed up. So it was frustrating trying to find my sizes. They DO have LOTS of good things though. Prices seem to be according to BRAND not quality.

I was very disappointed with my trip to this Value World. Their prices are extremely high (for DONATED clothing) compared to other Value Worlds I go to very frequently. Items that arent name brand or even items that are old and worn, are priced way too high! I found 7 pairs of leggings, all the same size and brand with 7 different prices. Seems there are no pricing guidelines and who ever is pricing for the day just does whatever they want. A jacket with holes in it was priced for $15! None of the signs above the racks were correct, making the store difficult to navigate. I found a bathing suit with the tags still on it from Walmart with the sale price of $3, Value World had marked it for $6.20! How you gonna charge more than the store it came from? A winter hat missing a ball was priced for $8... I will never return to this Value World again.

The prices here are 3 to 4 times as much as similar items at other Value World locations in the area. There is a lot of stuff there and quite a bit of variety, but the prices are like buying new items during a good sale. I was quite disappointed because we drove out of our way to come here because I usually find such good deals at Value World.

It’s funny going through all of these reviews! Because most of them are exactly how I feel about the prices being WAY too high for thrift!!!! I always end up complaining a little when shopping. I gave 3 stars because I still enjoy shopping here! I like to try and come once a month or so... you can still find good deals at times! I just signed up for the email club and waiting for my 50% off coupon because I won’t go unless I have that. I’m a single mom with 4 kids and we all need some summer clothes! I know I would spend over a couple hundred being your prices are high on a lot of stuff 😏This is the main reason I quit shopping at Goodwill. The owner or manager should really take these reviews into consideration because people will stop shopping here! Used pillows and linens and blankets should not be as high as they are! Nice or not! USED!!! Is the key word. And the fact every single item is donated and free for them. To over charge on items because they’re in good condition or name brand is ridiculous. That’s all you should be selling at your store. I’m really hoping that I get my email soon for end of the month half off!!! Because I can’t wait to come shopping!

I love rummaging through the store for that special find! I found a excellent coffee grinder, a potpourri warmer and a cool shot glass. Plus, a beautiful sweater, and several pairs of socks! Reasonably priced, for the most part.

Without coupons this place would be pointless to visit. Everything is marked up. Inventory was abysmal. Their furniture section was bare. And checkout was a mess. The cashier was unpleasant and basically ignorant. I dont have any other words to describe her.

Alot of nice clothing to browse, but cant afford to purchase much of their free donated items theyve marked to sell higher than most new retail stores and above what competitor stores price items at. Some items in particular: Most Boots were $20-$30. Childrens Fleece Northface with some stains was $20. Standard (~6 1/2 -7 foot tall) Christmas Tree was $100! (This was still the price on 12/24, then marked down to $60ish on 12/26). I did find a pair of kids gloves for $2.30.In response to your correction for my free statement (I stand corrected on that one sentence, then)... But perhaps you should revisit what you are spending on the items you are stocking your store with. You are charging prices on many used items that rival the new prices at retail stores and prices that are triple or quadruple what many of your competitors selling used goods are charging. I spent a bit of time at this store trying to find that diamond in the rough only to be taken aback with Sticker Shock.

A wonderful resale store, a little bit of everything for everyone. Theyve upgraded their clothes & Ive found phenomenal deals on clothes, shoes, purses, jewelry, household items. Plus, be apprised of coupons half off & birthday coupons. Parking is more than ample, great place for college students & kids clothing, prom dresses, et ceteta. Great hours ... 9A to 9P. Thrifting is fun. This Value World has the most ridiculous higher priced items than the other Value World stores. Its a resale shop. Resale. Goodness. Your profit margin is exorbitant.

Very enjoyable shopping experience

Most of the items are over priced to be second hand...this is why I only go when they are having the half off sale. For some strange reason theyre no longer allowing customers to use the half off coupons on the shoes... ridiculous if you ask me...Its resale! 😤

For this to be a thrift store, their prices are the same as a department store. They dont go through the items. Stained items ripped/torn items. Mis sized shoes. Couldnt stop sneezing. Its very dirty and needs better lightening. Even with coupons you still spend a lot. Every time Ive gone in there, theyve had very bad attitudes. One cashier very long lines. Found pair of pants that should have been thrown out that were priced for 8.50 because they were levis. Who ever owns this place needs to do a clean sweep get rid of things that arent saleable. Stop over pricing raggedy t shirts that you can get new for cheaper prices.

It saves you money on style, home decor, books, toys and etc.; thats gently used. Also, great free.parking.

Prices where way to expensive for a resell store. Priced 4 things that were more than buying new. For people like myself on a budget I cant afford to shop their unless I have a coupon. Staff is great and friendly. Just came From this location although the jewelry is stated to be half off when I came to the cash register with a bag of broken jewelry that was in a big bag of broken jewelry that was over $18 it was not half off how can that be its jewery is half off I thought if it posted than it is stated why wasnt it

I was there on June 10, 2018. I think there items are priced to high. When most everything is donated and then they charge eBay prices. It is redickules. Also things are stacked so high, when you want to look for something, other things fall all over.They also posted that things on the floor, except bikes and electronics were $1.81. So I picked up a couple of things from the floor. Got up to the register, I was told only large things and then the manager pointed to about 4 or 5 items in front. In the conversation the manager told me she had changed the sign to say large items only.I still spent $50.00 plus total so I am not a cheap scape. Just feel I may not go back. It is to the point they are not really helping the needy.

You would expect to find some great stuff in a thrift store of this size but most of their clothing/shoes are out dated and useless, Toys are cheap but filthy. If you need a coupon at a thrift store the prices are obviously too high! I prefer HOS THRIFT at 10800 W. 9 MILE in Oak Park. It is a small location but They have modern clothing and shoes...stylish vintage pieces and coupon free...affordable prices! Truly a hidden gem.

I like this location because it has more variety in the younger more fashionable donations Im not sure why but everytime I go to this one I always end up buying way more than intended. My mom also loves this place for the color of the day sales as well as senior day discounts.

This store is really a hit or miss. Sometimes you can come out with awesome items and other times not so much. Please be advised that there are almost no bathrooms in the area even though its a shopping plaza. The only place where you can take kids to use bathroom is at the Glory grocery store next door. I had a bad experience with the female supervisors before. I confronted her because she was speaking with a very elderly woman in a very rude and condescending manner. S

We waited in line for almost an hour!! Poor customer service, and the two cashiers were talking about the customers shouldnt be complaining. Very unprofessional!!!

Looking for visors for my grand daughter, I found 4 quickly and VERY reasonable.

Gave only 1 star. For that place to be a thrift store and these things are USED. They sure do have high prices. If I wanted to pay as much as they wanted for them items. I mise well go to a store where everything is BRAND NEW. Smh.

Its not easy to access the clothes on the rack due to congestion. They are over priced. Its ashamed they sell items that should be thrown away. The bric a brack as well as the household kitchen items are not even put together. You have to be careful or this ts will fall. You shouldnt have to take stuff down to get other items. The manager and owner need to have a training meeting for the employees. Their attitudes need to be adjusted.
