UPDATE 10/09/2021: this place is *CLOSED* until further notice. Ive tried coming here a few times over the past week and they were mysteriously closed during their normal business hours. I walked down to their other location on 40th and inquired about the closure of the other place. An employee said that theyre short-staffed, so this location is closed until they figure out their staffing situation. He advised me that any update they have will be announced on their Instagram page.Otherwise, their bread is delicious and their iced coffee is very good.

I was curious to try this place because it always has a line outside in the mornings! Hot cocoa and banana bread were good but not great. Id certainly come back but this wont be my go to spot.

Good coffee. Great baristas. The person at the register was biting her nails then touched my cup all over and also touched the rim of the oat milk container. Normally not too big a deal but these days?

Loved this place in Martinez, so happy theyve come to our side of the Bay and taken over the old Subrosas.

Financier is so delicious, I went directly back inside and bought two more! Very friendly staff. Overall, everything we had was amazing. Yum yum

This iced honey oat milk latte was delicious!

This was my first time to visit the newly open State Street Coffee and was so impressed.I ordered the Honey Latte with the homemade granola bar and it was just perfect.The latte was smooth and flavorful while the granola bar was filling and nutritious.Highly recommend a visit for any coffee enthusiasts in Oakland!

My first time here. Love the cleanliness and safety protocols. Had a shot of espresso and cup of coffee. Awesome! Was not in the mood for a donut from Donut Farm sold there. So, I ordered a big o chocolate chip cookie and it was very good and delicious! The only thing I wished they did was offer some sparkling water for my espresso? Maybe Im just spoiled by all the places that offer it to drink before my espresso?Average price for coffee. Parking can be tricky and you will encounter several street people while waiting for your order!

They do it up right at States! Bomb gluten free oatmeal raisin cookie too. Enjoy the little things! Cheers ☕️

Yay! Just had my first visit. As a former employee of the previous shop, I am just so happy to see these guys in this space! Friendly & neighborly service with a top notch cappuccino to boot. Will be back to try the pastries!

The dark choc mocha is interesting. Not sweet. I would have preferred to know because of the covid situation but it was still tasty anyway. The chocolate masks the taste of the coffee, so I cant comment on that yet.The donuts are from the Donut Farm, a local spot I love. Vegan or not, these are some of the best donuts in the area.The staff was friendly and I was happy to see a switch over of employees from Subrosa, the cafe that used to be in the same spot.
