SO IMPRESSIVE! Josephine knows her stuff and was able to identify my daughters needs quickly and accurately. The Sports Med MD on site that day, Dr. Palacios, was incredible. My daughter is going into Pointe this season, and while she has beautiful lines, she has complicated feet and ankles, making her more accident prone. Josephine and Dr. P gave her personalized care with pro-active physical therapies that will keep her healthy as she moves forward. It was so refreshing to be treated so well and to know that there are professionals out there who genuinely care about the health and well being of our athletes. This was the best fitting I have had so far as a dancer. My fitter (Elseana Skowronski) really took the time to help me decide on which pointe shoe would be the best. Unlike other dance studios where they asked me pretty basic questions, my fitter game me options and questions that I’ve never been asked before but were necessary. I started ballet in my late teens, quit in college, and went back after graduating.I am not gifted with natural talent or beautiful arches. In fact, my feet seem just the opposite of what ballet feet should be!So naturally, when I met with Josephine through Zoom—although very starstruck and excited—I was still skeptical about just how much she could help me. Especially through a 15 minute video call, thousands of miles away. I confessed to her that she was my last hope as an adult dancer who had been en pointe for about 2 years and lacked significant improvement.She was kind, quick, professional and wasted absolutely no time. We went over ALL my failed pointe shoes, why they were duds, and what I had done to modify them. We went over my biggest issues and what I could do to improve the way the shoes fit.Josephine gave me great tips and was realistic about expectations, but never made me feel bad for not being perfect. Finally, she decided on one shoe that I had never tried, no hesitation whatsoever and that was it.It took about 6 weeks for my order to ship out, since the shoes I was fitted in were out of stock and needed to be made. Once they were out to be shipped it took approximately 4 days to be at my doorstep.When my shoes arrived I was ecstatic, but still remained skeptical. “The shank will probably twist” or “I’ll probably sink anyway” and “There’s no way someone could fit me so quickly without even trying the whole store selection. It’s just not possible with my feet.”However, as soon as they were on I could not believe how perfect they felt! Finally, the “fitting like a glove” feeling happened for me! I can push over my box, I have much better alignment, no big toe pain, the shank wasn’t twisting, I felt supported, there was no gapping, etc.My technique still needs work, but now I am not fighting my shoe to get results. Pointe work has always been terrifying for me because of the way I have felt with the wrong shoes. Now, these shoes simply feel like an extension of myself and I am really looking forward to my journey en pointe.I’m still sooo shocked that she was able to fit me virtually and only chose one shoe in one size, without any hesitation. Excellent attention to detail. Josephine has an eagle, laser, artists eye!! I am an older lady who is an athlete and beginning pointe. I have a new wonderful, very accomplished ballet teacher who felt the pointe shoes I have were not the right ones for my feet. We were a little nervous about a virtual appointment for a fitting but knew if anyone could do it, Josephine could. And, she didn’t disappoint! The pointe shoes came directly from the manufacturer and had a defect, which she was able to promptly replace. She took the time discuss placement of the elastics for additional support as well. My daughter got her first pair of pre pointe shoes from the pointe shop after a fitting from Josephine when she came to our hometown dance studio. Covid happened and my daughter Grew out of her shoes and needed new ones before her recital. We were able to do a virtual fitting which was amazing considering we live in Wisconsin and the shop isn’t. Everyone has been super nice and knowledgeable. We have been back for multiple times to get refitted and it’s been Amazing. I highly recommend getting pointe shoes from here.

I have been fitted by GG and Josephine both have been really great experiences. I was nervous at first about doing a virtual fitting but it was really in depth. For example, Josephine was able to tell that something was up with my R foot, no other recent fitter had noticed and help account for that. I would highly recommend The Pointe Shop.

Finally! A pointe shoe shop that listens to what my daughter needs! Almost every shop we go to would tell her what shoe she should use we dont recommend that for beginners, or young dancers. Well my daughter is petite as most ballerinas are and she has been on pointe for almost 4 years. The Pointe Shop knew exactly what to do to make her feel comfortable and understood why she chose the brand that she likes. I am so grateful to have finally come across this place. Now I can just order online and they can ship them to me without me having to worry about having the awkward conversations of why we want a particular brand.
