Experienced with a great parts department. However, when charging for time, a mechanic should ONLY work on that vehicle. I watched for over an hour as he worked on other trucks then back to mine. How many of us paid for the same time?!?

Worst Customer Service. They were asking for unnecessary things when I was being more clear than water. Do you really need more information to check if you have my vehicle when I dropped off a day before and gave, Phone Number, my Name, name of the company my truck was under. Im not sure if they act smart on purpose or if they’re actually trying to help customers but the sarcastic tone threw me off. Also, not my first or my second time I come to this place because of dealership contracts. the price you pay, and the work you get done it’s not worth it. Definitely recommend checking your surroundings options before coming to this place.

This place is full of lier’s. we came from a hour drive to get some parts, and once we arrived at 7 they were already closed EVEN THOUGH THE TIME ON THE SITE SAYS 11:30. Please don’t even come to this place you’ll be wasting your time.

They have had my work van for 4 weeks and as soon as I drove it off the lot it popped up with a new code. Now they have to take it back for an undisclosed amount of time because the machine to read the code is broken and they dont know when it will be fixed. I will never again bring any vehicle here again!

I had a great experience purchasing our recent truck at Golden Gate Truck Center in Oakland. Hands down the best customer service experience from Damion in the Sales Department. He made the entire purchasing process pretty much effortless on our end (and we had some very specialized needs). We are in our high season right now and operating at full capacity x 2. Damion took this into consideration and even offered/brought the final paperwork to me to get signed AND even dropped off our new truck to us. This was a huge breath of fresh air.He also communicated with me every single step of the way. I have extremely high expectations when it comes to communication being in the service industry myself and Damion met these expectations across the board. He will continue to be our go to guy for all of our future fleet needs.If you are in the market for a commercial vehicle, ask for Damion. The worst service, our new car to repair the fault, a lot of inspection fees after various inspections but the problem has not been resolved. Will consider a lawyer complaint. Including the body tilt, the central control does not work, etc.

I wish I had read the reviews prior to attempting to get my truck serviced.The service department is the worst of any company on the planet. You can expect very rude, condescending people that look and act like gang members. Incompetence would be a compliment compared to they way they treat their customers.I detailed my complaint to the parent company, this is just a warning to other potential customers/victims.

This place is a place that is best avoided. Worst customer service ever, expect you to hand the keys over, remove everything from truck and sit outside on the curb until they are done, even though they didnt have any reason to enter the truck.

No place to park a trailer. What kind of truck shop doesnt have a place for trailers? Being over the road, we are not from this area and do not have a place to leave our trailer. At least I called first and found this out before we went there. They were nice enough on the phone and she did think to tell me they had no room for trailers, but she did not reccomend any place that does.We were able to leave our trailer at the receivers for a while and went to Golden Gate to get the repair done. They were fast and efficient and did a good job. They found the problem and fixed it in under 2 hrs. I still think they need a place to park trailers, but they seem like a good honest shop.5 stars for the mechanics and 1 star for no trailer parking.

I work in Vallejo It is a 1 hour drive to Oakland and a 1-hour drive back. I called in advance and asked if they had a part, they said yes well hold it for you. 1 hour later I showed up and I spent 30 minutes waiting while they looked for a part that wasnt there. Very unprofessional wasted a lot of my time. They told me the computer said that there was two but they couldnt find any. Ill go elsewhere from now on.

This particular time I came over and talked to the knights Parts guys. I called them up before coming down and make sure they had a part and they had it sitting on will call when I got there. He gave me very fast service I was in and out of there in 10 minutes. I had to use the restroom in the restroom was clean right near the customer Lounge.

Follow up:Thanks for the explanation. I feel much better now! Changed from 1 star to 4.Original post.I called one of their sales this afternoon, and planned to add a few new trucks to my fleet. After I told him that my company is based in LA, he refused to talk to me by saying, why dont you find your local dealers. In this industry we all know that it doesnt matter where the truck is bought and where the company is based, the only thing matters the most is the deal itself. This salesman had refused this opportunity.

I recommend every trucker or anybody that has a truck or anything to go there to Golden State because he have great customer service the mechanics there they know what theyre doing they have almost every Part in stock and the pretty much give you a dead on timeline when your vehicle is going to get done I have a 2014 Freightliner dump truck I took it in cuz it was having issues they found what it was the scanned it and replaced parts and now Im back on the road

The parts department seems to be regularly understaffed. 30 minute hold times are typical if you phone in or go in person.The problem is they are one of the 2 Detroit Diesel dealers in the area and the only Freighliner dealer. So you are kind of stuck having to go back to them.Lastly, when requesting access to their online parts ordering system to avoid having to phone in or stop by I repeatedly get told were not buying enough but cant tell me how much enough is.

Called to see if they have a part, 1st was told they didnt understand the part I was looking for. 3x I told the guy Coolant return line. Then I did my own research found part number. Called back and was told they are out to lunch at 8pm. Last at 10 pm called again, placed on hold for 15m, When the guy comes back, he tells me The system is showing we have 2, but I cant find them. Call Delta in Stockton. I am done with freightliner as a company. They make cheap trucks to sell in bulk!!! worst truck and company on the market!!!

I took my truck to golden gate we have a family trucking company,we have had an account and been a customer for 37 years.Truck was having power issues pulling, they did a diagnostic and said need to replace all injecters then my truck would run like it was new,well after letting them do the job I picked up the truck and returned back to work the next day, first load truck ran auful, no performance at all.took it back to golden gate freightliner they checked it out then told me my motor wasnt any good but they will rebuild it for $40,000 yes you are reading those numbers correct,so now my truck has been parked for weeks and when I left the shop they gave me a $6,000 dollar bill that Im paying on for injecters that was defiantly not the problem.I have heard a lot of shop nightmares, now Im living one

Slooooowwwwww!! I should have known I was in trouble when I saw chairs in line. There was no line but I still had to wait about 30 minutes to speak to someone. After about an hour I got everything I needed. Which was just to order a key smh. If you go I suggest you pack a lunch.

The most horrendous customer service I have EVER experienced!!! I called up looking for a fuel cap for a freightliner Truck. Tried to give him the info he poorly and rudely asked for. After I gave him the Vin and other info which he seemed to of made a mission out of, he then said We dont have it aggressively. This guy may of been the mechanic, a guy having a bad day, or just a plain old douchbag..nevertheless there are no excuses for acting like that and for spreading negativity onto customers!!

**Positive Rebound Update below**If you’re a individual sprinter owner, pass on this place. They wrote me an estimate charging $84.50 for checking the tire pressures and then topping off the pressure at 80 psi. I’m sorry. Air in tires? Never even seen that as a charge. Some things are just courtesy. When I questioned this cost, I got a big guilt trip and he revised the number saying it’s only $50. I asked, “Would you pay that for tires filled at incorrect pressure?” (There’s differential needed front to back, they filled all at 80). Second, I’ve had oil change/service done all across the country and never paid more than $300 for it. Even with premium oil and filter. Their charge crested $400. He threatened to keep the keys until I paid the invoice. Eventually he agreed to redraft the invoice, then said, “I never wanna see this vehicle here again”. I said, “No worries, it never will be.” Lastly, the big issue that showed up on engine check was the heater for the bluetec system. They wanted $2300 to replace that part. After a few calls I found a garage to replace it for $800 less. Id also brought my rig in last year to GGT for some pricey brake work when I was in a time pinch. In my experience, not a good value. I’ve switched to Autohaus Schmid in Burlingame. I’m happy to not be back.**Im sorry GGTC, Id been meaning to edit this after your staffs eventual adjustment to my invoice. Although the path to achieve the discount, premised on a misunderstanding, was more arduous than either of us would have hoped, you were just and generous and accommodating in the end. The combined deductions you made to the original invoice, which included refunds for labor, crested $500. Granted, the labor was unauthorized in my view, and clearly without owner signature in the paperwork, yet your action was a good resolution and a good faith effort on your part, despite the unpleasantries. Good job on you GGTC to know when to respond with asking how to accommodate the customers experience.

I took my truck on July 6 with chech engine lights on and even Shown them the code; when they diognose they said it DEF pressure and replaced the PLU and charged me &947. The next day as soon as I started driving the engine light came back with same code . I checked I realized every thing is same but they just deleted the code and made forced re engine. I’m not suggesting any body to go this Freightliner. They are fast that is true but they don’t care about nothing, all they want is to get paid. If you have Chance the best Freightliner is in amarillo Tx on interstate 40 exit 74.

Wow where do we start... We have purchased 4 trucks from Ernie at golden gate freight liner within the last 1 year. I like Ernie the sales man he is a good guy. But maybe we should have listened to the bad reviews and stayed far away from the rest of these incompetent idiots. Don Macinnes the new general manager, Travis the service manager are completely clueless when it comes to resolving an issue or correctly handleing a problem. Mind you the $100,000 truck we bought from them is 9 months old. Yes its nearly a brand new truck. The transmission went out 6 months after getting the truck. They took our truck off the road for 6 weeks after we just purchased it. They gave us ZERO compensation for the problem. Instead turning it onto us as our problem. If that was not bad enough we get the truck back and within 3 weeks of having it back it is breaking down with the same trannie codes and they cant figure out how to fix it. I mean really guys??? What a bunch of complete idiots. If I was the owner of this business I would completely clean house and fire these jokers. What a liability it must be having them as the face of your business. No wonder why their reviews are terrible. Make a long story short we have a broken new truck they cant fix...yet we continue to pay $1800 a month for it. You can bet where this will end up. COURT!!!-PISSED OFF TRUCKING BOSS

They cannot effectively communicate amongst themselves not with customers. I dropped a bus off for service and it Sat therefrom Saturday until I called to check up on it on Wednesday. It turns out, nobody knew what it was doing there and it wasnt even written up completely. So, then I have it written up and they say it will be done Monday... Come Monday, parts arent ordered yet and it was barely getting looked at... Well, $5k and one week later, I have the vehicle back... Repaired, but took way too long and way too many phone calls... Something isnt right with their communication, but their techs are highly capable of doing the job right...

I ordered parts then had them installed. 1st they ordered wrong parts. so had to wait. 2nd day they installed the part. AC still not working. they wanted to do additional diagnosis. i approved 1 hour. instead they worked onit for 5 hours!. went to another freightliner. they said okland freighrliner freightliner installed the part wrong way. After this went to different frieghtliner looked at it; said it was installed wrong way. Which literally took them 5 minutes to figure out. This guys suck. And they ramp up the hourly labour charge.
