Montclair Golf Enterprises is a great place to practice your golf game. They have double decks, so there are a lot of bays to go around! I love this place because it is nestled in a canyon filled with trees, it is like I am away from the city life when I am here. The range is not like the others, you wont expect rolling green grass here, but its still really fun.The bar/restaurant is awesome, they have alcoholic beverages and a lot of food to pick from. I personally love their bacon cheese burger! just make sure to hear your name when youre hitting haha, save the waitress the trouble.10/10 would recommend-ive found my new range :).
Used to love it here but now it’s the most expensive range in the area with the worst conditions. The thing they have going for them is convenience of location but I’ve moved on to Chabot ($33 for a month of a large bucket every day vs. 2 large buckets here) and the range and putting/chipping greens are much better. Plus with the $33 month at Chabot you can play their 9 hole for $1 whenever. Much better than this place in cost and experience!!Ps. They even stopped topping off buckets here like how skimpy can you get 😂
So much charm and character — old school feel that reminds me so much of where I grew up. I always tell friends new to the driving range that this is the OG Top Golf (& it’s so much better than Too Golf). Fun, affordable, group entertainment in the Bay.
It’s a great place. Terrific breakfast and great drinks
As a driving range its okay - could do a bit more on marking the distance. Chipping area is quite miserable though... Didnt try the 9 hole but should be an interesting short game course.
Open late. They do a great job at making you feel like a part of the family. Been going here since the 90s
The 9 hole par 3 course, double decker driving range, and bar + outside seating at this place have become popular during the pandemic. The golf and social experience offered here are not to be missed, even during the colder months.
The course is nice its good for kids, but the manager is a really mean guy tho.
Intimate small public golf course. Average drive range. Good cocktails and decent food.
Very pretty and friendly we love it
Nice to have a local shop that can do grips, club bending, etc..
Great place to hit balls, I would go there every day if they had a monthly plan
Great little two tier driving range and pro-shop. Beers and snacks available.
Love this place and they have good prices here
As a local this would be multi level driving structure ...quaint, unless you just gotta get a bite to eat and have GPS Im sure its tucked out of the way...just haw they like it ...hope it wont ever change...
There are three things going on here: the bar, the driving range and the golf course.Bar (4 star): The drinks are cheap and the food is quite good. I would say that the bar is this places strong point. The service was very good as well. The bar overlooks the driving range so this could be a fun thing to do with some buddies. Drink, eat and smash balls.Driving range (3 star): There is no hitting off of grass here, its all mats (pretty standard in The Bay Area). The lower level was designed pretty poorly as you cannot do a full swing with your driver because there are posts in the way. If you want to hit a drive you will need to go upstairs but then you cant really judge distance all that well. Overall I would say that this place is fine as a driving range if you are a fairly casual golfer.Golf course (1 or 2 star): I wouldnt really call this a golf course, it is really more of a chipping practice course. You can really only use a putter and wedges as the distances are between 54-81 yards. I suppose it would be fun if I lived nearby but its a big disappointment if you drive here for the course.
Comfy, funky and local. Just the way we like it. Great food and a decent tap selection. Owners are super friendly. The double decker driving range is a lot of fun.
Great people and a fun place to hit balls. They have an upper and lower level and their large buckets are huge. Had a great time.
Destroyed my driver on my follow through when it hit the stall post. I didnt realize the stall was so narrow, so its partially on me. But there was no sign or warning not to use a driver (as there are on many ranges), but the post is battered and had obviously been hit many times. The mat had a tee for the driver, too. The clerk gave me a tough luck attitude and claimed that Im the only person to have hit it. Im a range junkie and 4 handicap. The clerk suggested I swing more upright next time. Not even an offer to assist in fixing the club head at, say, cost. The owner just shrugged me off and couldnt be bothered to even lift his head from the tv screen he was viewing. Ive never written a negative post in my life, but I wont step foot in that place again.
I love this place. You can either use the driving range, which is a double decker. Shade downstairs if its too sunny for you. Also a nice 9 hole course where you can work on you short game
Went for the driving range. It is a great spot in a hidden, foresty type area. A bucket of balls is fairly priced. There is a window to the bar outside which gets you easy access to food and drinks while hitting some balls. Usually not very crowded and usually pretty quiet.
Love this place. $12 for a large bucket of balls. Friendly and helpful staff. I recently bought two used clubs here and had two more re-gripped for a very reasonable price. The ONLY reason for not giving 5 stars is that they require that you buy the rubber tees for the driving range because apparently people keep stealing them. They cost a buck and my thought is if Im paying $12 for a large bucket of balls then they should eat the cost of the rubber tee if it gets stolen.
Fun place with a really good resturant and bar.The family who run the golf course are very friendly....
25% hike in prices. Same worn out mats. Greedy
In the shadow of Piedmont and the Montclair hills lies the real life version of the movie Tin Cup. Casually obstinate and affordable atmosphere. Id recommend Montclair Golf to a friend. Definitely not Chad though. Hes the worst.
Great place to unwind after work. Hit some balls, have a few drinks. Wings are delicious!
Nice local golf range with full bar and food if youre hungry... also a small 9 hole that only a pitch and putter is needed
This is a dive bar. It is populated by a regular cast of alkys. The only food you can trust is the hamburger. Its good for a beer in extremely casual surroundings. The only redeeming feature is that it is quiet enough to have a conversation.
Funky 9 hole par 3 golf course in OaklandThe yardage on the holes vary from 50-100 yardscheap and cheerful and great to practice your short game
Fun...easy...lots of parking
Very relaxing with the peeps need to work on my game
What a weird little place. The driving range is kind of funky and not especially well maintained. The pitch & putt looks fun, but havent played it. Clubhouse is divey and I like it. Could use a little love though.
Friendly people. Roofed driving range.
Great place!
Great people great service great location great food.
A great dive bar that just happens to have a golf course attached to it. They have cheap drinks, decent food, and cheap balls. Whenever I introduce people to this place they are amazed its taken them this long to have found it.
Coconut shrimp, fries, coleslaw and beer.Excellent service and food! Thanks guys!
Always a great place to bring my family!
Great low key place to hit a bucket of balls.
Simply the best! Range, bar, restaurant, course, atmosphere.
Great place for family inexpensive dinners. Good sized bar with good friendly tenders. Patrons are ecletic group of neighborhood people of whom many are regulars. Fun and interesting conversations had by all.
Great value with a medium bucket only being $12 and coming with ~80. Just wish they had better yardage markers on the range.
Relaxed low key vibe. Love it
Its ok for a range session. Friendly neighborhood golf course (which is very convenient if you live close-by). Only drawback is range is overlooking west, and therefore you get the sun right on your face by the end of the day.
Great family place.
Was absolutely relaxing, I will recommend this place the burgers so good. James the bartender good service.
Very friendly staff, rentals at the driving range were better than Ive seen elsewhere, drinks cheap, and they have Heineken on tap, which is hard to come by usually in Oakland. Would definitely recommend.
Great little secluded place. Food is great and beer not badly priced.
Great spot to dive a bucket of balls after work.Oh and $3 dollar sailor shots. How can you not like that!!
The owners sun runs the bar - hes obviously never had to work on his own, and has a hair trigger temper. My friend said something as a joke, the man took offense, and refused to serve me a beer, even though I called out my friend at the time. Who need people without any sense of humor
Good experience overall. The bar has a $10 mins but you are stuck after you have your first. So you end up having two. Also it’s probably the only driving range who charges you for borrowing golf clubs.
Very nice reception guy in front
This is a great spot to hit some balls and then grab lunch!
This place is just a 9-hole Chip and Putt but it has a real nice driving range
Really fun and relaxing place
The Montclair Golf Course is an old-school local gem. Its tucked away in Montclair just off Park Blvd., so most people arrive here through word of mouth from someone in the neighborhood. The Hole is an institution.Totally unpretentious - this is where you go to hit a few balls, have a great meal and a couple beers with your friends. Or bring your kids, practice putting and lets them knock it around the little golf course.Where else can you play 9 holes or hit a large bucket of balls, have a great burger and beer for less than $25?Its a diverse crowd, from families and little kids to serious golfers practicing on the range, regulars chatting it up in bar and local sports teams, parent groups and other having group meetings or an after game dinner and drinks. One thing is for sure, even if you come in by yourself, you will know at least three people by the time you leave.
Great place for personal or business events or meetings.
Great golfing place
Good escape from concrete jungle
I dont golf. There is a bar with a couple of TVs. I enjoy a beer and a bit. If you live in the area it is quite a departure from Crogans up the hill 5 mins. Its a bit of a dive, perhaps datwd is the right word. I still love it.
Neighborhood driving range. 9 hole mini course and a restaurant and bar. Whats not to like?
Knowledgeable staff and good prices
Hag and Cynthia hooking it up top notch
One of my favorite places !
Drinking? Golfing? Probably at its best when doing both.
Inexpensive fun activity for Montclair! food is ok but this place isnt really know for its food
Great spot & cheap lunch.
Convenient driving rand
Shot, beer and a steak sandwich. Do it.
Trying to gain more yards on my swing.
Top deck range
This range has lights!!!! Closed at 10PM most days too!!!Avoid the par 3 unless its your FIRST time playing. Its horrible for anyone whos played a real round though.
Local institution
Love this place

Expensive and crappy balls
Great Food !!!
Intimate
Beer, food, and golf
