Yeah, this is the place, yet still so mysterious...

I went in with my twin sister. I asked the store keep who has the older soul? Me or my sister? Most witches will either say I dont know or your sister. The fact that I ask this question boastfullu makes most witches want to take my sisters aid. Without skipping a beat, the shop keep answered you are And he said it very matter a factly. I was impressed. I love how they dress the candle one buys and sprinkle glitter on it for effect. I love how their lavender oil smells and price. I love how the guy spoke so passionately about tarot card meanings. Shop itself has magic infused in it. You can feel it when you walk in. Well done guys.

This is a great herbalist, not technically an apothecary, that also sells items for certain religious ceremonies, both Christian and alternative. Great proprietor who is both incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. Also, excellent selection of herbs.

If I could give the store zero Stars I would. I called in advance to ask about Florida water and let the woman who answered the phone know that I will be coming in. I came in a couple of hours later and immediately asked about the Florida water. A woman, very likely the same woman who answered the phone, pointed it out but did not acknowledge my earlier call. In fact from the moment I walked in I felt her eyes on me. Waiting for me to speak? Not really sure. I asked a couple of general questions and got very Curt answers. At that point I decided my money is hard-earned and there are plenty of other places where I can purchase items in this area. I am new the Berkeley / Oakland and Im looking for a Botanica. This is not it.

Ive 🐝been looking for this place all my life. Now I wont let it go. Cant you believe they actually do a-dollar-a-minute tarot readings. I feel happy w the handfuls of readings Ive received. Candles, books and sage.... Peacock feathers, stones and talismans. Close to Mac Arthur Bart and Bus stops (Berkeleys Bus 1 for sure, but I dont recall which other buslines run through that vein of Oaklands Telegraph Ave.) Thank You, Ancient Ways.

Ive always had a generous experience here. The staff have always greeted me with smiles and compassion.I wish there was more selection in the way of clothing (in particular cloaks) however their large selection of loose stones, witch balls, and incense absolutely makes up for it.Its a bit expensive but not any different than any other types of occult shops.

This is one of the oldest and, in my opinion, one of the best occult shops in the Bay area. Their bulk herb selection is excellent and features some of the most potent samplings of the herbs you can find. Their incense is all top quality. They feature a great variety of tools that one could ONLY find in a well stocked occult shop, and their book selection is one of the best in the Bay, in terms of variety.They also offer classes and workshops on a variety of occult and witchy subjects.This shop is a must visit if youve got an interest in the esoteric and occult.

I stopped through with a friend to find a Singing Bowl. Played what he had and browsed thru all the herbs, chakra goodies, incense, books,etc..Very beautiful store with fantastic energy.

Was walking by, and found this really fun place. Its like a smaller of version of what Dolphin Dream in Walnut Creek was before it became Mystic Dream. There is a great cross section of items with really friendly staff. Plus well certainly be going back for the giant selection of herbs.

I have know about this place for awhile. I had not visited as I once called to check hours over a holiday weekend and was repeatedly hung up on and laughed at while doing so by the gentleman who answered the phone. In my final attempt at calling he blew some sort or whistle or noise maker in my ear. That being said years down the road I visited last week. Very quiet place, staff seemed uninterested in patron and judgemental if you had a question. That being said on the flip you wont be pestered while shopping. I will not be back. I was hoping to find another spot I liked near me but this is not it, for me. They do seem to be a well established business in the area. I like supporting local businesses when possible.

Im originally from the east coast and im used to being in salem a lot so comparing this to my previous experiences with metaphysical stores i gotta say, they could have had wayyy more, they had a pretty solid herb selection though, i wish they had more incense and crystals, they had some nice athames though, but what really threw me off was, i saw the harry potter series here, its a good book but it doesnt belong in an occoult store, its a good place to go if you need something immediately, they just dont tend to have a lot of varriety

Im learning to love my shadow, and in a really lonely place at the moment. Ive been re-connecting to the path that Ive followed for 20 some years, and decided to head down and pick up some basics...candles, holders, incense, and of course I ended up dropping a third of my paycheck and walking out happy that I did so.A very relaxed, chill, friendly vibe and I get the feeling that the folks working/running the place are genuinely concerned about their patrons needs. If you buy a candle, youre not just buying a candle- theyll ask you what you want to use it for and offer all kinds of wonderful information. If youre in a hurry, slow down and enjoy hanging out...that was one of my favorite things about being there.There arent many of these shops left, and this is a good one thats been around for a long time. I also LOVED the Crimethinc., Occupy, and Gil Tract posters on the front window...truly one of the last real Oakland shops to face the onslaught of the SF gentrification process....Support them !!!!
