Awesome day on the pontoon! We had a great time cruising around during the 4 hour rental. We had 4 adults and 3 kids and there was still plenty of room. The pontoon was very clean. The mates were very helpful and polite. Highly recommend!

Let’s start with the good. The staff was enthusiastic and friendly, they provided all the equipment we needed, and the boat was nice and clean. Now let’s talk about the bad. I didn’t catch any fish, nor did a lot of people. I can’t say my experience here was totally positive when I don’t catch any fish, which was the reason why I came here. The trip was 4 hours, but it took an hour to get the location and an hour to get back. This means that 50% of the fishing trip I paid for was just getting to and from the location where barely anyone caught anything. Overall, if you’re a beginner fisher who’s more interested in the experience and not so interested in catching a lot of fish, this would be okay for you. If you’re a serious fisher who really wants to catch a lot of fish, I think there are better options.

The staff was very helpful and very informative. Although the fishing wasnt good they still gave us all the information they could. They helped us find the right stops and enjoy some time fishing while on vacation.

I rent a fishing pontoon from these guys every year. Sometimes twice a year. Always a good time...whether catching fish or not. To the people that complain its pricey, i suppose you havent seen fuel and repair costs lately. Its not 1985 anymore, hate to ruin your day. The purple building staff is on point and do the job well. Do yourself and family a favor when down and rent a fishing pontoon for 5hrs. Bring your food, drinks, music, kids and youll have a blast.

We usually always come here when we’re down for all of our bait and tackle needs. When we tried to go last Friday we were sadly disappointed that the store was closed even though their hours online said they were suppose to be open. We waited a couple mins to make sure it wasn’t just do to staffing issues and that the person was in the restroom or something and after about 25 mins we moved on and asked one the employees of the speed boat next door where there was another place and were referred to fin-atics. We’ll try again the next time we’re down but I have a feeling my husband will just go to the place he knows for sure is open so he can get to fishing faster.

Great business run by a hardworking woman. Extremely fair prices, customer service is second to none and the store and facilities are immaculately clean. The fishing trips are always a blast thanks to Captain Ed, and his mates.

The 4 hour ocean trip is not worth the $60 in my opinion. The trip is probably not long enough to give the captain a lot of time to find fish so dont plan on catching much or anything big. We had 5 fish total keepers on our trip all were smaller size sea bass and one trigger fish. Perhaps they should lengthen the trips or stick to the bay to make the fish time worth the money. Crew and captain were good guys, just no fish.

The ONLY place we rent from when were in the area! We cant say enough about how awesome OCFC is. Whenever we are in the Ocean City area our favorite thing to do is rent a pontoon. The boats are well maintained, the mates are awesome about setting you up & getting you on your way, and the store owner always has a smile on her face and is ready to help with your fishing & boating questions. We also highly recommend joining them for Night In Venice - weve done it a few times, but last year was the best one yet! It gets better each year!! A night of food, dancing, & fun on the bay - what more could you ask for? If youre anywhere near Ocean City, NJ make sure you visit OCFC for a day of fun on the water!

The best in the business! Staff inside was incredibly knowledgeable and well organized. I’m new to fishing and asked a lot of questions and the staff was very patient and helpful. The boys on the dock were well mannered and helped us load everything on the boat and back off once we got back! Can’t wait to come back next year!

My family recently rented a pontoon boat for six hours, and we made the best of what we had. Everything looked fine with the reviews and the price was right, so we booked it. Our fun time was quickly ruined by a dilapidated boat and terrible customer service. About an hour into the trip, my sister sat down on a chair in the front of the boat, and a screw popped out; no big deal, we screwed it back in. A short while later, my sister sat down again only for the entire seat to collapse, all four screws popping out. Mind you, my sister is 8, so her weight shouldn’t have caused any problems. We also noticed the entire right side of the boat was unstable, so that applying any pressure whatsoever on the support beams would cause the entire canopy to shake. We also noticed that the back gate of the boat was hanging by a thread of metal, and the horn was not working. Finally, the lock on the front gate of the boat was faulty and the ladder for climbing into the water was broken. This wouldnt have been a problem, had the owner not acted the way he did. After reporting the problems, the owner replied: How do I know YOU didnt do it, and For all I know, you were climbing on the support beams, the second of which he said to my grandma, who couldn’t climb on the support beams even if she wanted to. Had the boat been properly inspected before we got it, none of this would have been an issue.

Had a great time during our 4 hour deep sea trip. Crew Joe and Edward were great and there to help with anything we needed. Captain moved boat several times and found the fish. Definitely recommend them and look forward to another trip with them when we come back to OC.

We had an awesome time with a 4 hour pontoon boat rental. Had a group of 8 the boat was a perfect size. The staff was very friendly and helpful getting us set up. It was a fun way to get out on the water when you don’t have access to a personal boat. Not too expensive when splitting among a group but not sure of prices for similar rentals.

Did the back bay trip. It was awesome for the first time taking my daughter on her first charter. She loved it and wants to go back. The captain was very nice and let her steer the boat.

Rented the boat for a party at night. Staff was great. Got to see the sunset. Boat was clean. Bathrooms were clean. It’s BYOEverything which is nice. Have used them for 2 years now and hope to use them again.

Good quality bait an open later than other places in town

We went out for a 3 hour bay trip today. The staff was super friendly, helpful, and made sure everyone had a good time! The mate, Charles, was particularly observant to each individuals needs and experience. The captain changed areas 6-8 times, depending on how many fish were biting. During our trip, we caught a variety of fish including: flounder, sea robins, sand sharks, blue fish, and sea bass. Great experience, would definitely recommend!

The Captain and crew are fantastic. The Captain put us on fish right away Joe and Edward were amazing deck hands just seemed to be there when you needed them. Weve been on other party boats and none compair. We will be back!

Went with a group of nine: kids, parents and grandparents, none of us with much experience. We opted for the Dusk bay fishing trip, which, at three hours, was the perfect length. The captain and the mates took great care of everyone, nearly everyone caught at least one fish (though few keepers), they offered shorter rods for the kids (and tethered them to boat) and the boat was clean and the weather perfect. Everyone had a great time and felt right at home. Id do it again in a heartbeat!

Went out with a family of 10 plus an 80lb boxer. Accommodations were amazing. The staff were so supportive and created a great experience for the family.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCERented a pontoon for dads birthday. Charlie and Tony were super helpful. Had 9 of us and a 1yr old out on the water. We got about halfway across the channel and the engine sputtered out and wouldnt restart. Fiddled around and got it to the other time despite It shutting off a few more times.On the other side, we called the shop and let them know they should come take a look to play It safe. 45min went by and no sign of them despite a few calls. The baby and his parents had to leave to keep him out of the sun. Family business is a mechanic shop and we fiddled with It a bit, seemed to be ok for the moment, so we opted to take It back. We got a call where we couldnt get a word across and some warning texts, but we just couldnt sit and hold the boat there any longer with no lines.We got back and the whole thing was pretty surreal... just an absolute shouting match about how we were probably trying to get something for free, were lying, zero attempt at understanding. Like why would we choose to sit there for time were paying for? We wanted to play It safe and got zero remorse.At the end of It all It got pretty threatening, the brunette woman told us to f***ing leave and her boyfriend was saying you cant talk to her like that, shes my girlfriend!

Loved our experience with Ocean City Fishing Center. Amazing service from very friendly staff, clean and well organized boat with great mates to keep things moving smoothly. I’ve rented a lot of boats and we choose OCFC each and every year. Thanks for a wonderful experience!!! Highly recommended!!

This so called fishing center is horrible. They set 4 hours, but one hour out and 1 hour in, less than 2 hours fishing times, plus they relocate the boat, the fishing time is very limited. I was there twice, every time less than 10% attendees caught fish. And they dont feel bad at all. they believe it is normal and OK the customers dont catch fish. If so, why we go to your FISHING CENTER. Changing your name to boating center!! Never go there again.

I went here to purchase crab traps and find out how to get started with crabbing off the OC piers. The staff was extremely knowledgeable, helpful and friendly and even showed me how to tie the proper knot onto my new crab traps. The bait prices and equipment prices were very reasonable as well.

Took my family out to Monday evening 3 hr. back bay fishing. After paying $140 for 4 of us, we were directed to their waiting area, out by the dock. This area had bench seats, and recently cleaned bathroom. And while we did not catch anything, the mates tried very hard to make sure that the trip was a pleasant one. It was not too crowded, with a good family atmosphere. Since we were fishing the bay, there were no waves except for an occasional wake, and no one got sea sick. The captain moved us around 3 times looking for fish, but no keepers. Still, it was a very relaxing, family bonding experience. Next time, I think I will bring a small cooler with a couple of Coors in it.

My girlfriend and I are from PA and are pretty experienced fisherman. Weve been out on a handful of party boats and this party not by far is the worst one weve ever been on and wasted good money on. Where to start, first off there were 54 adults/kids fishing shoulder to shoulder. A handful of young kids were throwing up walking around the boy unattended by a parents while people who have never fished before are swinging hooks around not knowing at all what theyre doing. Second the last party boat I was on in cape cod the only thing the captain cared about was putting us on fish and giving us a great experience. The captain today took us an hour and a half out dropped anchor over a wreck and sat there for an hour and a half while barely anybody caught a thing. Never tried moving or anything, when it came down to the last 20 minutes thats when he wanted to try a new spot where all the other boats were all morning. My biggest issue was with these yuppie city people who never held a fishing rod in there life would catch a small sea bass or flounder etc. and just reel it up to the top of there rod and sit there quietly not knowing what to do or asking for help from a mate. I myself ran to two different people to unhook their fish for them so it would just die for no reason. I am extremely disappointed and I would hope any fisherman or person with half a brain cell wont waste their time on boat. Horrible just horrible, shaking my damn head...

My go-to place in OCNJ for deep sea fishing and for boat rentals. Pontoon boats are great for families. Staff members are very helpful and friendly.

Drippin in Fluke Juice. I love fishing on this boat. Captain Tim is the Fluke Slayer! I caught plenty of fish and took 2 nice ones home. I also went on a booze cruise last summer and had an excellent time.

Stay Away! This people are crooks. We were overcharged $200 for being 15 mins late, even though the contract states you won’t be charged unless you are 30 mins late without a call(which they called and spoke to us after 5 mins of being late, and on our way back in. I agreed to settle for $100 and was very apologetic. They said they will go after my wife and threatened to call the cops if I didn’t pay.Not a good experience, boats are beats. All gauges were broken, boat was dirty and had other parties trash.

We have been using this center for a while but this year I had to cancel our reservation due to pending lighting storms. The deposit was not refunded. This is disappointing. I cant control the weather and I will not put my family at risk. I will be looking for a different place to rent

I can only review the North Star fishing boat, as I have not yet rented a private boat from them. The crew is fantastic, havent met one yet that wasnt super nice and accommodating. They only get 4 stars for two reasons: one, they over pack the boat. I realize there may be enough rods for 50+, but that close together and you spend just as much time untangling from others as you do actually fishing. Spreading out the rods, thereby having less people would go a long way. And two, I have been on the boat twice now, and both times I have heard how great the fishing was on the previous trip on the way to the fishing grounds, only to have fishing be poor for our trip, and the captain apologize because it should have been better. It makes me think that its the standard line, and that fishing may just always be ok, and that can probably be attributed to number one. Regardless, if you are not looking for dinner, its a good cruise, with plenty of sight seeing.

Terrible pontoon boats, they are literally falling apart. The seats are broken, the radio is broken, the gates are broken, rod weights are set at the wrong heights. This is the second time ive come here and it will be the last. The customer service was friendly & employees were nice but their equipment is garbage.
