Always a great breakfast at the Sunrise Cafe. I had the 2,2,2,& 2 breakfast. Two eggs, two French Toast, two sausage and two bacon, because I was extra hungry. It was still more than I could eat so I took some home. My wife had the Western omelette I believe which we had to take half of that home as well. Both were delicious as was the fresh squeezed OJ. Yes, fresh squeezed!! Will be stopping back again soon!
What a great choice for a variety of breakfast food! Right off the Asbury strip sits Sunrise Cafe. They offer inside and outside seating(has enclosure from the elements). All tables are within social distancing procedures. The coffee is great served in their own branded mugs that are available for purchase. I ordered the breakfast empanada sampler. This was a great choice to change up the regular eggs and bacon routine. My wife ordered the biscuits and gravy. She had no regrets. I went on a sat morning around 10am during March and we had no trouble getting a table. I definitely recommend!
Sunrise Cafe never disappoints. My youngest and I walked over to Sunrise (as he says, we have to stop here every time we are in OCNJ). The food is fresh, delicious and plentiful. 4 pancakes which we took two home. So tasty!! I had the Huevos Rancheros. I added hot sauce. Everything was soo good. The waiter was pleasant and attentive. We sat outside which is always my preference. We will be back.
Kylie, was fantastic and the entire staff was friendly and nice.Food was cooked to perfection.This was my 1st time visiting I was told by a friend to try it and I will definitely be coming back again.From the fresh squeezed Orange juice, To the side of sausage to bring home to my dog everything was spectacular.2 thumbs up/ A+ ☆☆☆☆☆
I enjoyed my meal very much. Cold brewed coffee and a bagel. I do not eat a big breakfast typically. Every meal i viewed looked delicious. 5 min wait after being told i may have to wait 15 min. Tip: a few feet south and you’ll find a shady and breezy alley between buildings. Safe! So i was surprised to be called after only 5 min. The staff was friendly and fast. Valerie, our server was excellent. I recommend this cafe!

I’ve been here 4 or 5 times and never once had a bad experience. The food here is really good. I would recommend to anyone. I do agree the bathroom could be cleaner.
The food was awesome and the meal was very filling. The wait staff was very nice and got us everything we asked for and quickly. The Santa breakfast was also very fun for the kids and my youngest was so excited.My only complaint is that I got the sunriser meal which is pictured here that comes with 3 sausage 3, bacon 3 pancakes and 3 eggs as well as hash browns and toast. However the amount of eggs was only about 1, maybe 2 small eggs. I didnt say anything because it was already a lot of food and I didnt finish everything but if Im paying for 3 eggs it should look like 3 eggs.That being said the bacon, sausage and especially the french toast was super good and Id honestly go back tomorrow if I lived closer.Make the 3 eggs actually 3 eggs and you get 5 stars for sure.

Sunrise Cafe has been here for a few years; indoor and outdoor dining, primarily breakfasts. This time I wasnt particularly pleased. Ordered eggs over medium; they came out runny. Ordered onion mixed with home fries; home fries came out plain. Ordered rye toast which was fine, but served dry and waitress didnt get around to offer butter and/jam until Id already eaten most of the meal. None of this was an absolute game-breaker, but there are lots of breakfast places in OC and just across the bridge. Only so-so for Sunrise Cafe.
First time visit with all my bridal girls. It was amazing and we will be back.
The service was very unprofessional. I was seated next to a plant that constantly hit the back of my head. While we were eating instead of moving the plant a worker (who I later found out was the owner!) started weeding it in my personal space. He then proceeded to spray weed killer less then a foot away from our table while we were eating (keep in mind there are breezes that can carry these chemicals and I felt it spray my leg). I came with a group of 4 and only 1 person was fully satisfied with their meal. Nothing was seasoned and everything was way too expensive, for example half an avocado is $5. Overall poor experience, however the waitresses are doing their best despite the poor management that I witnessed.
This was a cute little restaurant for breakfast, and overall we enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. However, my avocado toast had no flavor to it, and they are quite pricey. I would visit again, though.
4 x 2: one of the best breakfast meals I’ve ever had. The French toast and honestly everything was so good. Quick and kind service too. Definitely recommend.

The service was horrible. We sat at our table for 10 minutes and no one waited on us. Then when we asked for a waitress, one final came out and waited on a table right by us that just got seated and she just turned her back to us. At that point, we just left
If I could give this place a zero I would. Zero class, discrimination and lack of order. Manager did not even apologize for putting others ahead of us. Honestly will never go back.
Weve been here many times but after my meal today, itll be a while before I come back. I had sausage gravy and a biscuit. The gravy amounted to milk with bits of sausage. The biscuit was rock hard and the egg with underdone. The potatoes, however, were delicious. The waitress didnt seem to care one way or another when she picked up my almost full plate of food. Very disappointing. My wife was happy with her meal. But theres just too much competition out there to settle for a bad meal.
Appropriately named Sunrise. Serves up yummy breakfast with a smile. My sunrise special was enormous. Eggs were done perfectly. Crispy bacon, albeit too salty for my taste. Sausage was good. Potatoes were nicely done. Service was super fast and friendly. pancake .... Or rather two pancakes were HUGE!

Sunrise has been a favorite for a few years now. This last time the service wasnt as good as previous experiences. The food was still delish, and worth the price. Would give 5 stars if it wasnt for the service, which I think was partly due to us sitting in the outside area (they were full inside). Will continue to visit in the future.

Really good food. Its small inside, but they have a nice covered patio out front. Ive been several times, and everything Ive tried has been great. The past two times Ive been there, I ordered off the specials menu. Both entrees were delicious (Lemon Poppyseed Pancakes and Meat Lovers Omelette - names might not be exact). Hopefully they both make it to the regular menu because I would order both of them again in a second.
I know people love UBPH, but this is my favorite breakfast place in OCNJ. They have a nice small menu but with really good food. They have healthy alternatives and classic heart attacks on a plate. They added a covered outdoor area which makes seating even better, especially in the hot sun or the rain. They sometimes have a fly issue they need to find a way to consistently address.
Stopped here early one Saturday morning in September. They have a nice outdoor seating area which is covered so you are out of the hot sun and weather. The service was prompt and friendly. The food was okay as well. A nice large portion and it was not over priced. Pictured is a bacon and cheese omelet. I would have liked to have given this eatery four stars but in truth there was nothing about my experience that made me want to go back again. It was just okay.
The Hawaiian grilled pineapple coconut French toast was very good. Family members had the tacos and the breakfast burrito and reported that they were very good . Hash brown potatoes are brown but completely soggy, not a bit crisp The coffee was very weird, tasted like a mixture between Coffee and Tea. They automatically lost a star because the coffee was bad and because they have no bathroom at their restaurant. I had to leave my meal to walk up to the boardwalk to walk down the boardwalk to get to the lifeguard station to use the toilet with my child.

Horrible service. Went here with my family as a party of four and was told it would be about 15 minutes. After 20 minutes we were told it would be another 15-20 minutes and the third time we checked they said “about 10 minutes” meanwhile the staff was seating parties of 2 at tables for 4 while tables of 2 were open. Just in the time I wasted standing there waiting, I saw this place lose eight customers because they cannot properly run a business. Obviously we were lied to about the wait time which tells me this staff has such little respect for their customers that they are not honest and are willing to waste our time like that. Ocean City is a big vacation town, most people are only here for a limited time and have spent a lot of hard earned money to do so, so I really do not appreciate having a chunk of my morning here wasted like this.

Found this ocean city treasure a couple years ago on our last day of our vacation and loved it. Just went back this morning and was quite pleased again. I love the artsy and creative dishes offered. Atmosphere is very cafe like with fresh sunflowers in vases on each table. Bright and welcoming. I had the pulled pork and egg with avocado burrito and was just as tasty and juicy as I anticipated. Service was good. Waitress came by a few times checking up on us (this is what I expect in a sever!). My other friends really enjoyed their breakfast meals as well! Thank you we will be back!
Im a huge fan of this place and have been eating breakfast here for a few years when I get a chance. During this bizarre time of lockdowns and masks we happened to walk by and see NO LINE. This is unheard of. So we pounced on the opportunity to be immediately seated and served within 10 minutes of sitting.Dont assume the Sunrise Cafe is going to have a monumental wait. Go and check. We sat right down and it was fantastic.

Verrrry good breakfasts! This is our Go-To any time we are on vacation in Ocean City, New Jersey. The food is fresh, made to order and the service is phenomenal. They also have lunch specials however I have never availed myself of that particular meal. There breakfast, however, knocks it out of the park. I highly recommend getting there early because the place can fill up from all the local and out-of-town clientele who call Sunrise Cafe their 2nd home for breakfast.

Great breakfast place! We sat on the patio outside which was very nice. We had MJ as our server and she was amazing! Very friendly and attentive, she came over many times to make sure we had everything we needed. The food was excellent!

It was good service. I got the breakfast burger a little greasy, but good. Burger with 2 slices of pork roll, fried egg and cheese on a soft roll. Very filling. Oh and a side of home fries came with it.
2 stars because the wait staff was very friendly and the french toast was very tasty. However, $6 for one kids pancake that was 5 . Literally $6 for one mini pancake - no drink or potatoes just one lousy pancake! Also, my omelet was brown on both sides. Eggs shouldnt be brown. Everyone knows the shore is a rip off for food but this place was just ridiculous.
Employees are treated terribly to the point that they didn’t have enough staff to open on July 4th weekend! They are a shady business that does not pay employees for time worked or overtime. Drip n scoops donuts are awful. Food here is terrible at sunrise. Dockside and Deadend are good but they stole all of their recipes from other establishments. Literally got caught in fractured prune stealing ideas for their donuts. Con artists. Do not work here or support these businesses. You have gotten away with it for this long. Lawsuits are coming your way.

We have a condo in Ocean City and this is our go-to breakfast spot when we come up. Delicious breakfast sandwiches. I highly recommend the meat lovers and Spanish sandwiches. The Nanas Banana Bread french toast is good if a bit dry. Service is always great and fast.
I usually love Sunrise but this visit was less than pleasant. It was definitely a scorching day with a long wait which Im fine with except that they didnt have enough staff members to keep the tables bussed and customers getting their orders quickly. The hostess was exhausted and overwhelmed. We opted to wait longer for an indoor, presumably air-conditioned table but the 80 degrees inside wasnt worth the wait. Our food was pretty good (especially the fresh-squeezed O.J.) but I got avocado toast which was mushy and not very flavorful. Ill give it another try next summer but I hope it gets better.
Awesome breakfast joint. Big portions and everything was well made and fresh. Will definitely be back for more. Crowded all year round so be prepared for a possible wait. Outdoor seating in nice weather.
This is a must when in Ocean City. The Nutella French toast are excellent and they give large portions of food. You will never leave hungry. We enjoyed eating here every time we visit the coast. The wait times in the summer are also pretty reasonable considering the amount of traffic in and out of this great vacation spot.
A bland food lover’s paradise. At first glance, the menu seems unique and flavorful with numerous options. Unfortunately the food does not deliver. It lacks seasoning and flavor. The French toast was dry and the coffee was overpriced, watery and bitter. It definitely is not worth the 30+ minute wait.

Four stars for the food. It was amazing. surprised to see poor reviews, we will be back next year hoping we dont see it go out of business due to the lack of quality control. Would love to see this type of a restaurant in Harrisburg, PA. We definitely saw some weird activity with the seating, we were sat promptly but had to ask to move because they sat us in the direct sun on a 87 degree morning. many other tables had very long waits but the hostess staff wasnt creative enough with table arrangements.
We went for an event - Breakfast with Santa. Our wait time was about 10 minutes less than what they quoted us, which was great. Server was very nice, pancakes were delicious, I really enjoyed my waffle, eggs were cooked as ordered and tasted good from what I was told. Husband got the creamed chipped beef and told me next time he would rather eat the food that fell on the kitchen floor. Bottom line, great place to eat, but avoid the cream chopped beef!
Absolutely an amazing place to eat. Breakfast was amazing. Our first order was incorrect for both sandwiches but I called and the manager and he promptly corrected the issue and went above and beyond what was needed to correct the order. Had the correct order delivered to our house without me asking and for free! Great customer service and they definitely care about their customers. Would highly recommed this place to anyone looking for a great spot to eat both off season and during beach season!
Terrible. Terrible. Terrible!!!! Waited 45 minutes before walking out. The waitress never came to take our order, seagulls were eating the food from the neighboring table. Never been more disappointed in a place. Give you Business to someone else
Not bad. Food could have been cooked a tad longer. Very busy Sunday morning vacation spot. Pricey but in line with vacation prices.
