I went in there with a small knock on my 8 year old pilot. They estimated $1000 with a quick review. They did that and there was still a small tick - they said probably another $1000 to take the engine apart. I said ok. They found out it was the camshaft - so probably an extra $1000 to replace that.. do you see where I am going... then I got another call. When they replaced the camshaft they found out the rollers also needed to be replaced. They said they would cover the cost for the rollers - and for that I gave them five stars.They went above and beyond what was expected - they saw the cost rising on my old Pilot - and they said thank you for the business. And I appreciate that -even if its an extra $50 or $500. I dont care. I appreciate the gesture. Thank you Capital Honda. I will be back.

Mixed reviews. We have an older Honda for my teenage son. Recently, we needed a part that was on back order. We wanted to wait for the original Honda part, but service had gone ahead and fixed it using after market parts without getting it approved by us.We normally deal with Michael Vang. He is polite and gets back with us promptly. It was his oversight that led to the car being fixed with parts we did not approve. I believe it was an honest error in judgement and would never stop using Honda’s services based on this one incident. All other transactions with Michael were 5 star.However, when I came to pick up my car, the issue was unresolved and I was angry. Michael was gone this day and I had to deal with a different service advisor. I was “helped” by Chris McCaffrey. Chris was extremely unpleasant to deal with. He was condescending and smug. The vibe coming from him was that he would’ve been outright rude if he knew it would’ve been tolerated. My exchange with Chris was bad enough that I would avoid service going forward, if I had to deal with this man again.Edit: After reading some of the other bad reviews about the lack of customer service skills Chris possesses, I decided to provide a little more detail of our conversation and why I thought his attitude was bad.There was no apology offered for the fact that my car was fixed with unapproved parts, instead my complaint was met with argument from Chris. Chris stated that they fixed me car because there was, “no way they would let me have the loaner until the original Honda part came in.” This statement is upsetting, no matter how you slice it. As I have dealt with many other dealerships and service stations throughout the years. Does Chris mean that I, specifically, am not entitled to a loaner? Does he mean nobody is entitled to a long term loaner when Honda can’t provide the correct car parts? Other places, when I’ve been in similar situations, have charged a nominal fee per day, I think it was $8-$10, for a three month loaner.Fast forward the conversation, then Chris said, “the aftermarket part was cheaper anyway.” I wasn’t trying to save $50, clearly, by stating that I would wait for the original part to come in. I wanted to pay more for the correct part to be installed in my vehicle.Chris then tried to tell me why the jury-rigged aftermarket part put in our Honda was just as good as the original would have been. This is a bald faced lie. We both know it’s not true.This entire conversation was held while Chris smirked and looked as if he was holding back laughter.He is truly a blight on the company, I would never continue to employ a man like this.

A great purchase experience and I highly recommend this dealership and specifically our sales person, Nicole Lutz! My wife and I live in Chicago, so prior to driving over to see the vehicle we were interested in, we spoke with Nicole. We had a lot of questions and Nicole went above and beyond to answer them. She also helped coordinate prior to my arrival to make the purchase as quick and seamless as possible.The vehicle we bought was in excellent condition and fairly priced. Review for the Service Department: Dishonest and OverpricedI own a 2018 Honda civic hatchback EX since Nov 2017. I have been dealing with the service department for over 3 years.1. A/C jobI asked for an A/C check ($120). They quoted me $500+ for refrigerant recharge and $1700 for compressor replacement.Then I went to another local shop who quoted me $250 with check and recharge. The shop observed NO failure on the compressor and NO leaks.2. Cabin air filter replacementWhen I did my 5th (maybe 6th) service (normal oil change) at the dealer, I asked whether I need to change the cabin air filter. They told me no need and everything is checked up.I went home and checked myself and found dirt and leaves all over the filter.3. Brake fluid change and recommended servicesThe manual says to change brake fluid every 3 years. The dealer never mentioned a thing about the brake fluid change.However, they have recommended me to do fuel induction service and wheel alignment at my first time visiting when I only had 5k miles. At 30k miles, they recommended transmission flush.I recommend avoiding this place. After the cabin air filter thing I stopped going to them. I went for the A/C check because I thought it was condenser failure which is under warranty.If you have to choose them, dont believe a word they say.

People were nice but they are overcharging for everything. Found another mechanic that could do the work for half the price. They also lied and said the right side of my engine mount was collapsed and when I saw another mechanic, they said the mount was perfect and the engine wasn’t shaking at all. Nice people but a huge rip off.

Service department does not take calls. One guy a year ago kept hanging up on me refusing to take my call. Today i waited on hold for ever and they just hung up on me. Also, last time they did my oil change i had to get ot redone because they didnt screw on the oil filter all the way. Very unprofessional.

She went over several options with us, was able to find and deliver a car within 2 days (in the middle of a February snowstorm). Poor workmanship and service: Two weeks ago I brought in my 2018 Honda HR-V to repair two recalls (fuel pump and brakes) as a precaution before moving cross-country with my car. When I got it back, the ignition was cranking before starting each time I started the car. Also, the plastic center console panel was bent out of shape and sticking out — poor workmanship in general. I returned the car to repair these issues, and was greeted with condescension and rude attitude by a senior service rep, as if I had caused the problem. After an “inspection” (not sure if this was done at all, since I was asked when *I* wanted to return to pick up the car 🤔) they hadn’t corrected the problem, and minimized the issue, saying everything would be fine for my trip. This led to a terrifying and dangerous situation when yesterday, halfway through my road trip, the car started to rattle and rapidly decelerate in the middle of the interstate and I had to get it towed to a different Honda dealership in Nebraska, where I was greeted with professionalism and kindness and they were able to quickly diagnose and fix the problem—a broken o-ring on the fuel pump that happened during its installation and was not addressed at Capital Honda. The dealership in NE also fixed the center console! The difference in customer service and workmanship between the two Honda dealerships is clear as night and day. This place doesn’t deserve your business.

I received a $15 off coupon in the mail for an oil and oil filter change. However, it was sent to my parents who live in Texas (last year I asked for the dealership to change the address to my address here in Michigan, but clearly that wasn’t done since my parents received the coupon). I called the dealership and asked if I could bring in a picture of it (a picture that my parents took) and was told it would be honored when I bring my car in. Fast forward to when my car is all taken car of and I present the picture of my coupon, I was told it cannot be honored and I would have to pay full price since they need a physical copy of it. The only reason I brought my car in was because the dealership said they would honor my $15 off coupon in picture form. After speaking with an employee, he agreed to give me $10 off which I am very appreciative for that. However, I’m giving a poor rating because I was told one thing over the phone and then told something else in person and had to have an unnecessary back and forth session with the employee that took care of my car.

We were on the lookout for a new family car that would meet our familys changing needs. I had read the wonderful reviews about Nicole Lutz online so I reached out to her. She was amazing from the start! We did run into a small hiccup at first (not Nicole’s doing). We had bought a vehicle from Honda 5 years ago and loved it which is why we went back. As I said, this time around, I reached out to Nicole prior to heading to the dealer and explained our needs. She was so welcoming right from the start. She was waiting for us when we arrived at the store and we were able to test drive a vehicle pretty quickly. However, when we returned from the test drive we were informed that we had to work with the salesperson that had sold us our vehicle 5 years ago instead of Nicole. I wasn’t sure why this was but I was very disappointed in hearing that so we left right away. Something didn’t sit right with me though, so on our way home, I called Honda, explained that we wanted to work with Nicole and they made the switch! We returned to the store later that day and wrapped everything up. We were able to purchase a new minivan that we love. Nicole truly went above and beyond in helping out our family. It was great to work with her. Thank you Nicole!While I’m writing this I will also add that we have taken our HR-V here for its regular maintenance for the past five years and I just have to say that Chris and all the folks who work in the service dept are great. We leased a CRV from this dealership and the purchase experience was good. However, when it came time for routine maintenance and recalls the service department has been awful. Technicians have repeatedly not put the vehicle back together correctly following service visits. It’s been a shame since we moved from one brand of vehicle to Honda with the hopes of trouble free service for years to come. But if the vehicle comes back after routine maintenance in worse condition then when I handed the keys to the technician it defeats the purpose. Capital Honda will no longer be receiving business from us.Update the service manager did contact us and went above and beyond to fix the situation. I changed the rating from one to four stars

Just Got into a new 2020 CRV Ex-L Lease today and love the new car. I was upside down on a 2018 Chevy Trax and had been trying to get out of it for the past year now. We have been servicing our families Honda’s here since we moved out of the Detroit area. Even though we purchased in Detroit we have always been treated like we bought at Capital. Jake in service is the best and has always given us fair and transparent pricing. Of course, it is a dealership and prices won’t match a Quick Lube—but your experience will be better. For instance, I just stopped in the get some fresh wiper blade inserts and have a trim piece looked at. Jake figured out how to snap the trim back on while I purchased the wiper inserts and then he taught me how to insert them myself. No charge. That’s what will bring us back to purchase our next car at Capital. Way to go Jake.

I was at Capital Honda on 1/22/19. My tire pressure light was on and I wanted to get it checked out before I drove back to NC. I travel to Michigan many times a year because my parents live in Lansing. We are a Honda family. My parents have purchased several cars from Capital Honda and get their cars serviced regularly. When I am in Michigan I get my car serviced there. When I arrived I was told I need to change my brake fluid, drain and refill my manual transmission fluid, and have a complete exchange of coolant. Plus I had a recall on my passenger air bag. I was surprised that I needed to have all of that done since I regularly have my car serviced. I agreed to have it done because I wanted to have a safe trip back to NC. I drove back to NC on 1/ 26/2019. While driving down the turnpike I realized that I had no windshield wiper fluid. I am really surprised that the windshield wiper fluid was not checked especially in Michigan and I told Chris that I was driving back to NC and I had spent $463.57!I gave my contact information and I was never contacted by Capital Honda

I went for tire rotation, after two inspection they gave me the evaluation of more than 3500 cost of fixing. As the car had some problem on the right wheel the are asking to fix left wheel side. It shows that they are not truthful.

The regular maintenance service that I that take my vehicles in for has always been done quickly and properly. The service staff is great. There is a very experienced service adviser named Jim that can explain your vehicles issues in depth if you prefer. Sometimes I appreciate that. I went to Capital Honda today to help my friend buy a brand new Honda Fit. First person we met inside was Farah, he made both of us uncomfortable. He asked if my friend wants to pay in cash or finance. I was in the middle of telling him that it depends on the final price and my friend has not decided yet, he interrupted me and told me in an intimidating way that it depends on her credit score. How about letting people finish what they are saying? After this he connected us to a sales person and gave me a hard long look as if I have done something terribly wrong and told me in an assertive way that I need to take it easy. We test drove a car they had and then it came to money. They were giving a discount of $400 on the MSRP, while every dealer is advertising $500 on their website. The interesting part is that kbb can get you a discount of $1045 off MSRP by just providing your name and phone number. I told our price to the sales person and she left. When she came back the manager joined. The manager started explaining how they cannot give anymore discount and when I said that they can and told them my offer, the manager instead of giving me a counter offer started an angry ramble. Guess what? I drove 30 minutes to Jackson and get $500 lower than them. Over the past 6 years I have helped a dozen friends buy brand new cars. For each friend I have gone to more than one dealer and I have never experienced anything remotely close to today. I do not recommend this place to anyone.

Nicole Lutz helped me with purchasing my first car, and the process was so much easier and faster than I expected. She had me sold on a pre-owned vehicle only a few hours after I found out it was on the lot. I wasnt even looking to purchase until a few months later, but Nicole got me a deal I could NOT let go of, but I did not feel pressured at all.She made sure everything was processed and communicated ASAP between us and the finance department, and made sure I drove off the lot completely happy, with a spotless vehicle inside and out, and a full tank of gas. 😉

Dear Mr. Ford, I have several concerns regarding the recent service of our Honda Odyssey. I authorized the oil service as I thought it was a special at $19.95. When my wife arrived you told her it would be more and she paid almost $50.00. l feel this was deceptive. When you returned the car to her you failed to notice her driver side floor mat was not installed correctly, and the headrest was not in place. She realized this after driving a short distance and found it laying on the back seat. She had to stop and install it herself to maintain her safety while driving. You never addressed the concerns with the key fob and failure to sound the horn or blink the light when locking the door.This does not reflect the quality of service we expect from a Honda dealership. My wife also noticed the dealership banner stating your last award was dated 2007. Lastly, I have come to realize the front brakes and rotors were never properly serviced last November. We brought the vehicle in because of the excessive shimmy when breaking in the mountains while vacationing in New England. We realized the problem was not addressed when driving in the mountains of Virginia last month. I await your response. John King

Pierre was welcoming and friendly, and he made a good effort to accommodate my needs. Though I was not quite ready to move to a new car, he helped negotiate a deal I could not refuse. :) :)I have been a long term customer of Capital Honda, and I have always had good experiences with their sales representatives and service staff. They do take customer loyalty into consideration when doing business.

The service center is really good - not too pushy, really quick service. They can usually accommodate me on short notice for basic maintenance. When we were looking to buy, the sales staff we spoke with was not very helpful and was pretty pushy. When they realized we were not going to buy a vehicle on our first visit, the service got worse. In summary - would recommend the service center if you have a Honda, but look elsewhere to buy.

The experience of buying a new car here was better than any I have had before. Everyone I worked with from the saleman Tim to the finance guy Jeff were great. They were able to answer all questions I had. The car was perfect upon delivery. This was a much, much better experience than Ive had at some other dealers in town. Bad car buying experience. I went in to purchase a vehicle, basically with cash. I was offered $400 less than sticker price and that was it. They seemed to care about maximizing their own commission rather than sell me a vehicle. I was also told cash is not king. They also didnt even offer a test drive. I sent out a quote request to every other dealership and Brighton Honda did a fantastic job for me. Purchased from them, got a great deal and am very happy. I would suggest going to Brighton. Capital Honda was one of the worst car shopping experiences in my 25 years of car ownership. I hope they get their stuff together but judging from what everyone else I know is saying, Im far from the only one with this experience.

I am editing my review after speaking with the service manager Claude Wight. We had a respectful chat together where he took the time to hear out my concerns and answer all of my questions. After this Im feeling much better about the service we received, even if I wish things had been explained to us in a more complete manner originally. I also could have asked more questions in the first service appointmentBelow is the relevant info for service in the original review and complaint I had:When we bought our car, we bought tire insurance at the recommendation of the salesman. It seemed like a good idea in pothole full Michigan. Lo and behold a few months later my wife hits a pothole and the rim gets slightly bent. We take it to get looked at, and the service people tell us the insurance wont cover it because the tire isnt leaking air. That stinks and its an annoying loophole, but I can read that in the insurance policy so it isnt the fault of the service peopleWhen we asked them about it then, they said as long as it wasnt leaking air we could drive the car. We just took the car in again (Mid 2018) for a maintenance check, and now theyre telling us the wheel should really be fixedThe problem is there is no consistency! One of 2 things has happened:1) Capital Honda just today sold us unnecessary maintenanceEDIT: They clarified on this necessity after speaking with themOR2) Capital Honda gave us erroneous advice the first time, and weve been driving an unsafe car for months (that had family and friends in it!)EDIT: It wasnt unsafe, more that the overall life of some components (tires primarily) could be affected by the bent rimEdit: Im leaning more towards an option (3), which is some signals got crossed in what actually needed to happen as well as what the issues were. I appreciate Claude for taking the time to help explain to me what was wrong and what needed to happen to fix it

I bought a certified pre-owned Honda at Al Serra- Honda of Grand Blanc. Within a couple weeks experienced air conditioning issues. I was told by Al Serra, due to my Honda certified warranty, I could take my car to any Honda dealer to be serviced, I could also take it back to Grand Blanc. As Capital Honda is much closer for me and wanting to support a local business, I made an appointment to go there.When I called Capital Honda, the service rep, Chris, immediately told me the other dealer shouldnt have told me the repair would be covered, that it might be outside my warranty and could cost $265. I dropped my car off a few days later and was surprised when Chris told me if this wasnt covered, it would actually be $325. When I inquired on the increase in price, Chris didnt acknowledge my question and hurried me along.No leak was found in my AC unit that day, so they injected a dye and the plan was for me to drive my car for 2 weeks and bring it back, in an effort to find a leak and thus find coverage for my repair under the warranty. I asked Cris if we needed to make the follow up appointment now, he said no, acted really casual and said I can call back and make the appointment in a couple weeks. 1 week goes by and Chris calls me and forces me to make the follow up appointment.Meanwhile, the salesman from Al Serra followed up with me on 3 occasions to check the status of my repair. Stating Al Serra feels the repair should be covered at no cost, no matter what.I took my car back to Chris and expressed my concern gently, stating what the salesman had reiterated to me. Chris had a look of dread, but told me you cant trust a salesman, but he would look into whether this could be covered, once again.I leave my car for the repair and within 20 minutes Chris calls and leaves me a voicemail, apologizing heavily, stating he didnt know my [2017 Civic with only 12,000 miles] was still under factory warranty and of course would be covered at no cost. When I picked up my car, after no leak was found, Chris apologized again but said it was fixed and reminded me Id get a survey about my visit.The funny part is, I received an email from Chris at Capital Honda, cancelling my appointment for the day, after Id already left. Guess who didnt get a survey because of that? Me.Chris was going to let me pay $325 and let me go on my way without batting an eye. So pleased with my service and follow up from Al Serra of Grand Blanc. I will never go back to Capital Honda.

The service is much faster if you make your appointment earlier in the morning. Otherwise Ive waited hours for an oil change, even with an appointment. The advisors communicate well, and now they have this neat feature where they email you additional recommended services while youre waiting with the prices so you can more easily and quickly approve them and know exactly how much youll be paying.

Very satisfied customer who now owns a 2019 Passport. Its everything I wanted and needed. The safety features are the real draw and the space!! Used to bring my 2004 Accord to this dealership for maintenance. The staff was always very professional and the waiting area was always kept tidy.I wanted to start here for my next car purchase. My own car no longer suited what I needed for my lifestyle. My saleswoman Nichole L. was very patient with me. I didnt even know what vehicle I needed. I cannot thank her enough for all of her follow-thru on answering all of my endless questions. I havent had a care payment if over 7 years, so I wasnt eager to jump into a purchase. Nichole went through my concerns point - by -point until I was totally comfortable. Capital Honda provided an amazing experience for me! They were very kind and attentive, but also gave me the time I felt I needed to make this decision. I originally had no intent to get a new car, I truly loved my previous car! But due to some trouble with my car after having some work done by a local shop, I found myself in a very difficult situation where I didnt want to get a new car but I no longer felt my car was reliable. They helped me through my decision by honestly telling me about both sides of my decision. The service people were fantastic and reassured me they would be able to get my car working right, which made me feel much less pressured to trade-in my car. But after speaking with the salesperson (Pierre) and meeting with the manager (Anthony), I decided a new car was the way to go. They were amazing! They gave me a great value for my trade-in and made the transition to my new car so easy! They were available and happily spoke with me whenever I had a question or concern about my old car or getting a new car. What had been as very difficult and stressful week, they turned in to an exciting and happy experience! I couldnt be happier with my new car (an amazing and uniquely colored 2015 CR-V!) and the service I received there. I would recommend this dealer to everyone, they were incredible! Ive been bringing my 2009 Civic to Capital Honda for the last seven years. The service department is well organized and quick to get vehicles serviced and back on the road. Theyre honest and dependable. Ive never had a problem with them. If I had questions about why a service needs to be done they go above and beyond the call of duty to explain why. Will be driving my Civic forever because Im a stickler for keeping the car serviced. The guys in the service department help me do that.

It was my first oil change with our new leased vehicle. The staff was very considerate and did the work in a professional and timely manner. They discovered a mouse nest on the battery!! They checked all the hoses and other areas that mice might get into and found no problems. They even advised me on how to get rid of the little critters.
