We have had floors done in four rooms by them over the years. The first was a basement and they worked with us to rip up the old carpet, put down a special paint to deal with some old smells and then put the flooring in quickly. We wanted the same flooring a few years later and they searched for the same flooring. They couldnt find it anymore but got the same color in a slightly different style for us. The installation went well both times and we were very happy. There were some minor issues (forgot to put a transition piece in beco a door had to be closed for our cat). They came back the next day and got it fixed up. They also give you a quote and its itemized. We asked they remove a couple items and they did it without pressuring us or arguing, which makes the whole experience more pleasant. They also have help in store to decide what you need and let you take samples home. There is a cute play room for the kids too distract them while you look. Overall a very positive experience.

Just recently purchased and had installed our new floors through American Flooring. Could not be more satisfied! Process was very easy, all sales reps were kind and VERY knowledgeable. If you need new floors forget Home Depot American Flooring is your new go to supplier.

We selected American Flooring for our Home Remodel project. They offered a wide selection of quality hardwood flooring and porcelain tiles. Yvonne worked with us to determine the best flooring options and obtained samples to enable us to make an informed decision. The flooring materials we ordered were excellent quality. In addition, Yvonne scheduled the flooring installation activities in coordination with our ongoing Kitchen Remodeling project. She has a wonderful team of experienced flooring installers. We were especially pleased with the professional work performed by Tim and his team. We have included some photos of the work performed. Overall, we are happy and pleased that we chose American Flooring for our project.

Zero stars if it will let me - went in over 6 months ago and looked at flooring for 3 jobs - had installer come out to measure ( 2 people ) and have had to follow up over and over with my sales rep Paul Zumberg - horrible communication skills and could care weather you get your job done or not. Just wanted an answer so we could get my project going and when I asked why I cannot even get the courtesy of a call return call ( after 3 attempts had to go into the store ) he said we are not a good fit -wasted mine and everyones time - I asked to speak to a manger .. she could not even stop eating her lunch to address my concerns and try to remedy the problem ? horrible service DO NOT GIVE THEM BUSINESS!!

I wanted to add hardwood flooring to my office/den. I shopped around and visited three companies. I found American Flooring to have the best deal on the bamboo flooring that I wanted. My salesman, Kevin was very patient, friendly and knowledgeable. The installers (Marcus & Jeff) did an amazing job. (see photo). I am very happy with the floor. The only problem I have is that regardless of how much flooring you order, they will charge you the installation fee, even on the unused material at $3.50/sq. ft. They recommend that you order 10% more than the actual floor space, which is totally understandable. In my case, I had about 15 extra sq. ft. of flooring when the project was completed. I called Kevin to ask about the charge and he said thats just what we do. I dont agree with or like that policy. The only recourse I was given was to get a credit on my next order. Hence, the four star review.

Overall the job got done and it looks good. I would probably only work with them again if I had my own installer to lay the flooring. There were a couple of hiccups. I picked out the flooring with the sales person, a measurer came out and then an installer. We were laying new flooring over older basement flooring. It was a difficult job. The installer had a hard time implementing the plan as the measurer and sales person laid out. More tiles had to be ordered, there was a backorder and significant delay. I had to bring them back another time to leave tiles they were supposed to leave and fix some pieces. They charged me extra after the job was complete due to the excess labor. I feel some of these hiccups may have been preventable with more thorough up front work. I am appreciative they were able to complete the job with laying over the old floor instead of ripping it all up, pouring cement, etc.

I have used American Flooring in Okemos on 3 separate occasions over the past few years and have been very satisfied with their professionalism and vast array of product. Yvonne did a wonderful job in directing me towards flooring that is not only high quality, but fit within my budget as well. We are getting ready to replace some bedroom carpeting and I won’t go anywhere else but American Flooring!

They did the flooring in our brand new home. You can see all the seams in the carpets. The installer chipped up our base boards. The flooring put in our kitchen dining area had to be repaired because the installer didnt cut it right. We had to put up a fight to get a hardwood floor removed from a room because there was so much damage to the wood. My husband and I are extremely dissatisfied. Shop around. A representative there told me that my husband accepted the work and I should too. I knew darn well my husband did not accept anything.

American Flooring in Okemos was amazing to work with from the beginning to the end. They had patiences of a saint as I went through several samples until they found something that I loved. The scheduling was easy and the the contractor that had install the vinyl flooring was one of the best contractors we worked with. He was meticulous, fast, tidy, proficient, and an all around nice guy. The staff at the Okemos office has the best customer service and we will definitely be going back to them on our next home improvement needs.

Our new linoleum floor is very nice. The principal kudo, though, goes to the installer, Marcus. Very efficient and great effort to make our job perfect. This includes a lot of wood trim replaced, probably more than anticipated. He had to return to complete the job. Never complained. A beautiful job on the trim.
