Such a fun place to stroll through and definitely a wonderful destination if you are looking for any kind of delicacy, from a quail eggs to imported butter to cheese and aged vinegar, not to mention aprons, cutting boards and all things kitcheny. Kristin was very sweet and helpful, assuming she is owner or manager or both. The only con is that the place was a little hard to find, drove by it twice. The signage disappears a bit amongst other businesses in the plaza

Awesome place! owner is a gem! we live out of state and always called the owner Christine to make a special custom basket for our uncle at Christmas with the finest cheeses and wine and lobster which he raved about. you cant go wrong shopping here for the finest foods and foodie gifts!

This place is top notch... Christine always remembers my Wife and I, the owner presence ensures products are amazing and the personal touch is genuine and professional. I wish I lived closer, Id spend all my money there!

Great shop! Shop owner is awesome and polite! They have a ton of obscure ingredients you wouldnt expect in a small town cheese shop! Also obviously they have a ton of cheeses as well as ham and olives. Highly recommended!

Not only are their cheeses, meats, crackers, and fruits always fresh on their cheese plates- but Fromage is always willing to put their very best effort into satisfying us as a customer! I placed a large order this morning for a work party when they opened, which would usually require 24 hour notice, but they accepted the order and had it ready early even though they were very busy. I was totally impressed and thankful especially since this was for work. They also boxed up all 11 plates and helped bring them to my car. Can’t say enough about Fromage!!

Wish I could give it 6 stars, the woman who owns it is friendly and helpful, and answers any questions! It is a huge store with an incredible inventory of all gourmet items and kitchenware, the artesian cheese selection is massive incredible diversified. The inventory sizeis amazing! We are telling all our friends and family to go in and take look! We will now be regular customers. You cant beat it! What a hidden gem!

Oh my gosh! This shop has an amazing assortment of cheeses! The owner and staff are so helpful and the shop is chock full of treats that are beautifully displayed. Great cheese selection. Coffee and Tea section has been neglected recently.. not sure why they bother. Huge selection of condiments and kitchen knick-knacks. Think truffle infused honey and marble cheese trays. After you leave here you wonder where all the money went.

Would be 5 stars BUT: In fairness I will start by saying that My wife and I visit this establishment (somewhat) infrequently over the past several years, but always enjoy the absolutely amazing variety of cheeses and always drop $$$ when we do. Its a treat for us. Its a quaint little shop, the staff is always friendly, willing to let you sample the cheeses and always have little tidbits of information to share which can aid you in your selection(s). Absolutely no complaints there.That being said: We recently visited while coming back from shopping in the area. As always there were cheeses wrapped up on display where you can pick them up to check them out. Some are more fragrant than others and I happened to pick one up I was interested in. Like most normal human beings I lifted it to my nose (about 3-6 inches away) to determine what it smelled like. In fact it smelled very nice and I was about to ask for a taste when the owner(?) said you probably cant smell it let me unwrap it and give you a taste. Having already smelled the aroma I smiled and said sure you can smell it and put it up to my nose again to confirm. I then handed it back gesturing for her to smell it through the plastic. Well, she certainly didnt like that and made it known. She (politely) took the cheese, crossed to the other side of the counter and said Its food, you dont put it up to your nose! in a subtle yet very unexpected, snobby and rude manner. I admit I was taken aback, a bit embarrassed but after a few seconds of reflection I confirmed that mere act of smelling something did didnt warrant that type of reaction. Ultimately I had to exit the store leaving my wife alone to finish tasting.The reason I left is because I knew I would say something which might embarrass (just as much as she embarrassed me) the owner in front of other customers (which there was no need for). Yes thank you, I know its food, Ive actually eaten food for 5+ decades and just like with certain types of food, its a natural reaction smell something to see if: A) Its fresh B) Its something you might want to taste. I just raised it about 3-6 inches away to check it out. And what was the harm in that??? Its not like I touched it with or stuck it up my nose.Yes I understand everyone has bad days so maybe it was one for her. However while she wasnt aggressively rude she certainly was subtly yet unmistakably obnoxious and snobby. She could have just taken it, given me a taste and be done with it. But she didnt. If youre reading this just a tip: You may have a wonderful selection of cheeses but dont ever treat a consistent patron like you did me just because he/she wants to smell something he/she will be eating. That leaves long lasting, bad taste in ones mouth!

Im a regular shopper, even though I moved an hour away. Every time Im in the area I stop in and stock up. Best cheese and gourmet/hard to find food stuffs in all of Connecticut!

They have some really great selections here. The cheese blackboard is almost overwhelming and you can taste almost everything. Great selection of things to go with cheeses, nuts, crackers, dry/cured meats, etc. Also an assortment of sauces and almost anything you would want to cook with. It is expensive

Fromage is a delightful shop with great food selections and kitchenware. I am so happy to have found a purveyor of Beemsters XO and a 7 year Quebec Cheddar, two cheeses I really enjoy.
