Most overpriced gun store that I have ever been too. I feel like they take advantage of new gun owners. On average every fireman is marked up at least $200 more than other shops. They do however have the best inventory. I am giving them 2 stars because of the inventory. At least you can go in their and hold a firearm to see if you like it and buy somewhere else!! I looked at a rifle there and bought it at a nearby store for $250 less.

Cant wait for things to return to normal so we can go in and shop normally.

Purchased my first 9mm pistol from Fowler Gun Room. I noticed Fowlers has been slammed due to Covid/Social Injustice Protesting, so to make sure I was walked through my first firearm purchase with no rush or pressure was really great. Long lines are expected as other Firearm Dealers have been dealing with the same thing, but the customer service inside was top notch and really comfortable. Will be back to continue purchasing more. Have an issue with a firearm I recently bought. Was told I need to take it up with the manufacturer. Thats poor customer service.

Great place to make whatever relevant purchase you want. As a first time buyer in the state of California, I was nervous about all the unnecessary red tape they place on trying to protect yourself. This place made everything so seamless. The wait outside, taking the test and starting the ridiculous ten day period happened all in the span of 1.25 hours. I would definitely recommend coming expecting to wait in line for at least 40 minutes before you can actually enter.

Hearing back more and more from my friends and other firearm enthusiasts I can confidently say this is the most over priced store in orange county. Almost predatory pricing for newer gun owners and many dont know any better paying 1$ a round for 9mm or 700$ for a Springfield xd 🧐 They do have the BEST selection of products around Ill give them that they really do have a great selection to choose from but almost every time Ive gone to fowlers Ive been disappointed price wise, they blatantly markup prices almost 200$+ on most the common firearm brands. Ammunition is no exception either almost 1$ or more per round of 9mm and they have no intention of price matching on anything. Also even with things calming down now they still dont answer the phone. If you really want to get a feel for something your looking to purchase go to fowlers and handle it and purchase it elsewhere lol.

I have been here several times before with excellent service but today Glenn had nothing but a bad attitude and gave me a hard time from the time I walked in the door till I left. I was asking basic questions and he was giving me a grilling like he was my dad. Glenn take a chill pill.

Went there about five years ago with a certificate to purchase a firearm from the department of Justice from SacramentoAnd was told Id have to take a firearm safety test for 20.00 which I never tookWas told that every 5 years you have to renew your certificate

Might be a good store but will never know because they wouldnt honor a gift cert we had. The new owner dedicated owner, Kathy Mitchell should know that when you buy a biz you assume assets and liabilities. The guy that helped us was nice but seemed embarrassed. Dont blame him. Short sighted because we would have spent a bunch of money over what the certificate was worth. Very weak.

Looking to make my first time purchase and I had no clue CA was this strict. WOW!I stopped by FGR as I needed more information regarding a local FFL and to shop for a sidearm.I met Larry, who turned out to be a phenomenal Gun Salesman and just a straight up cool guy.He instructed me on what was necessary to obtain my sidearm and administered the FSC test to me. His tips and knowledge was spot on. He even cracked a joke on me about losing faith as I got two answers wrong.Though I wasnt able to select FGR as my FFL, I at least wanted to leave a positive review for the exceptional customer service.Thank you, Larry.

The staff at this shop are extremely friendly, very knowledgeable and professional. I have came here for over 30 years since I was young with my Dad. This is the only shop my Dad trusted to purchase and for service and now I do the same. Their prices are very reasonable.

Easily, the best gun store in Orange County. They have an exceptional selection of short and long firearms. Always willing to let you handle the firearms. The salespeople are extremely knowledgeable about firearms. Not unique to Fowlers, some gun salespeople are a little arrogant. Ive seem the same at most gun stores Ive visited. Its worth finding the salesperson that you click with and work with them. Besides firearms, they carry an extensive line of reloading supplies (presses, dies, bullets, powder, etc.), scopes, binoculars, safes. There is almost always a clearance table sitting on the floor. They are also dog-friendly. Great place, highly recommended!

The staff at the Stockade is completely out of touch with anything modern when it comes to firearms, parts or accessories. The pricing is completely outrageous, and they absolutely refuse to price match, and for some reason believe they are the only gun store around. It seems like every time I walk in there I get nothing but dirty looks from the sales staff.

I have been around firearms the vast majority of my life as well as reloading and various firearm competition circuits. My experience with Fowlers was I did not know jack about nothing. When I asked about various accessories which I know are on the market they could not answer me and when and if I did get a answer it was you do not need that or it is not for that firearm. Funny thing of it was I already had firearms fitted with what I had asked. Then to top it off a older man steps up and says if you are not buying anything we do not have time for you. Well Mr you killed several sales to the tune of $2500+. I ended up going to Bass pro and Turners for my needs.Any thing else I buy out of state.

Bought my first semi auto from them a few years ago was treated excellent continue to use them for needed items and going back this week for a nice compact 40. Highly recommend shopping here!

Told them I was looking into purchasing a gun for the first time. Pretty much told me to go somewhere else. Didnt want to answer any of my questions.

I have always loved guns. But never really got many opportunities to use them. I bought my first gun a Remington 870 express 12 gauge shot gun from turners when I was 18. The guy was a total prick. Asked me and it came across like an elitist, why I needed the shotgun. I told him it was because I am now 18 and thats it. I should have said because it looks cool just to puss him off. LolWell Im 34 now and was interested in a pistol. I know very little about them and dont pretend to. Not happy with my experience at turners I checked to see what else was close by and came across Fowler. I walked in there 5 times before I made a purchase. They love guns, they love their customers, and make you feel very welcome.I was so happy with the time they spent educating me that I had to write this. If youre reading this now and are not sure about this place. I was you a few months ago and Ill be honest I was expecting someone to give me some bad service at one point. But out of 5 times, all I have experienced is kind and genuine service.

Very knowledgeable people I went in with a old Winchester and I was able to get ammunition for it and spoke to the gentleman about the gun itself. good prices for the ammo

Nice rifle and shot gun selections. Not so good on pistols, but not bad. Prices are max MSRP so dont even bargain with them. Some of the older employees are very nice, but they seem to have some that are goofy or just are not trained. The reloading guys are very nice and helpful. One thing that bugs me is that if you are not interested in buying a gun, they tend to be short with you and push you off a bit. But, to their defense, weekends are very busy and they have to do the best they can. I cannot give them anything higher than 3 stars because 1) prices way too high, 2) they really need to train their staff in both knowledge and customer service, 3) they need to work with the customers and their questions a lot more....try not to be too short and one worded answers. Also, one more thing, Fowlers has improved their inventory a lot and they are really trying hard to service many different needs. This is a big change for them and it is showing. I really think they are improving and I will rate them again when I see things improving per my three points above.

Since the new owner took over customer service has improved greatly. It seems like the prices are coming into line with what they should be.

Amazing customer service. I randomly purchased a brownning 6.5 varmit stalker from Fowler today. I was literally amazed by there staff and the level of customer service I received...not only was there staff a mountain of knowledge. There dros was done fast and efficient, in the blink of an eye . The were kind and attentive and took there time to discuss other products, gun issues I was having, even advice on teaching my daughter to shoot. This was all done after I purchased the fire arm...my point is - there staff ( all 3 in the store) was sincere, concerned, friendly and extremely knowledgeable in all fire arms and shooting. I was throughly satisfied and would recommend Fowler to anyone and everyone. There customer service was next to none

They have it all, its a busy store so you may have to wait your turn but the sales staff know their stuff so dont be afraid to ask questions. This is the only gun store that I buy my guns from and I live 4 hours away. :-D

Just another gun store that will up charge you on anything they can. I went to check out ammo and asked the lady what 30 carbine ammo they had. They only had 2 types and the cheapest was $29 a box. I was hesitant and replied that was kind of expensive. She quickly responded, well where else are you going to find it. Gun stores that gouge customers on prices when supply is low is the lowest of low in my opinion. This not only turns away customers but it turns away people from shooting; when in reality they should be doing everything they can in order to get more people into shooting. And their prices on guns is on the high side.

Went in today to look at Glocks. They showed me the ones I was interested in and answered all my questions. Also, got a good deal on ammo and hearing proction.

Good shop for all your firearms needs, employee are usually quite helpful and are definitely knowledgeable when it comes to guns. Prices here are a little higher than Id like but the customer service makes up for it.

All good til you complete the sale. No product support or real post sale follow through. They have the we got your money, NEEXT mentality. They clearly push brands with higher margins, regardless of customers needs.Did I mention the HORRENDOUS rude and unprofessional customer service? The old guy who was the cashier was the single rudest person I have ever encountered as a sales person in a retail setting. Absolutely unacceptable behavior, which translates to lost revenues for the business.Unfortunately in California these days customer service is dead and you are lucky to get anything at all.
