I have been shopping here for about 5 years. Its clean, well organized, and a good portion of the employees are very friendly. Over the last month or so I have noticed many staff members wearing their masks down on their chins. Especially in produce, not one employee in the produce section has there nose covered and many of them have their mouths out too. I just dont understand why we as customers should be held to a higher standard than the staff members themselves. Ill be looking for a new store to go to because I always leave this one feeling annoyed and a little angry because of it.

I know these reviews often ask how bad or good the establishment was, it think it is a good thing when you can go in and carry out your expected reason of visit without any interruptions. Thing that go smoothly without even is something we take for granted. thank Safeway for my way safe shopping trip.

Nice clean store, helpful staff and plenty of parking.

Lots of patrons here do not adhere to the state mask mandate and employees do not enforce it. This makes me feel uncomfortable as a patron and staff really should be empowered to address customers as needed.

I absolutely love this store! You should stop by and meet Lou who works there & has been there many years and he is just one of the best employees I have ever met his & friendliness is beyond compare. I’ve been here many times over the last three years but never seem to learn my lesson about the produce. Every timeI buy any sort of greens, they’re already going bad when I open them even though I thoroughly check them in the store. The same thing happened with strawberries four or five times. Everything else in the store is fine, but I’d suggest going somewhere else for produce.

Super clean store. Staff is always super friendly & helpful. Not the cheapest store in town but they have quality items. Definitely download the app to use the coupons & gas rewards if you shop here! It saves a ton.Their pharmacy is great as well!

People are great for the most part( who doesnt have their bad days) could say work on keeping up the stock but I know that orders are behind and under staffed. You guys are awesome

Every time I shop here very pleasant employees. The deli department is very under staffed.

Better than Albertsons (which is like visiting a warzone) but not as good an experience as Freddys (which is damning by faint praise). Ugh!

Good prices clean store

Safeway is convenient for me though it is a little more expensive than other places I shop, there are a few things they carry I cant find elsewhere and when it comes to a commercial grocery store bakery, their baked goods are superb. I do like the way they organize their phone app, it makes locating the coupons I want to clip easier to find but I have found you need to watch that those coupons actually get applied to your purchases, sometimes they do not. I do really like their $5 Friday deals and take advantage of them.

The store was well stocked with most standard supplies. They are remodeling just like Fred Meyer down the road. I actually came to this Safeway to avoid the Fred Meyer mess....but they are remodeling too. It is just so hard to shop with so much construction. But hopefully they will both be done soon.

The store was neat and usually come across some friendly faces and unusually polite ncutomers, both satisfied, and hungry for the deli, and employees manners of respect.

Always crowded, bad costumer survice, people and workers fail to wear there masks, and them that do dont cover there nose.. Prices on everything is outrageous. I cant stand this store, the only reason i went in is because my grandsons needed dipers ASAP, and they costed me $64, for Huggies. I can get 120 of them off amazon for $48 . but i have to wait until the 2nd before they get delivered.. GRRRRR THE ONLY DOWNFALL. SO YES THIS IS HOW I FEEL ABOUT SAFEWAY.🤷

Overpriced grocerys but staff is friendly

Great produce & sales, friendly associates. Removed 2 stars because I loved to buy plants here, but the new designer pots are hideous and doubled the price of the once great selection of plants.

Severely, under staffed and very slow throughout the checkout process.... Usually a lot better so lets just chalk this recent visits issues up to poor weather and people having over active knee jerk reactions to Icetastrophy 2021...... Yes including myself, as I tried to brave the masses....

They could have better customer service. Especially in the meat department the manager isnt very helpful and everyone is depressed and sad. The bakery girls are awesome! The front of house people are pretty cool and starbucks well id rather have coffee from home but anyways yeah you could do better.

I usually shop at Fred Myers but was in a hurry so I ran in for sugarless wafer cookies to make my husband happy. Unfortunately they have NO SUGARLESS COOKIES! So it was a waisted trip. 😒

Like the store but couldnt find a product. Clerk at checkout just stared at me when I asked if they could check on it. Nearby clerk requested PIC who never showed...disappointing.

The special sale items were all in stock and things were great. The folks we encountered were friendly and helpful.

Safeway is great - they are less busy than Fred Meyers whereas Fred Meyers is crazy-jam-packed with people and they have few checkers open. I feel like Safeway generally has more checkers available for the amount of people they serve than Fred Meyers. Safeway has a good selection of organic produce - tonight I went by 2 Fred Meyers and BOTH were out of organic oranges. Safeway never seems to be. They will also order for me an entire box of organic celery in 1 day’s time. Some of their items are cheaper than Fred Meyers’s and they will offer $10 coupons at times in their paper for buying $50 worth of groceries. They don’t have older produce for reduced prices however, like Freddy’s.

Staff is rude and lazy. I asked for help in finding a product and the employee told me that they were busy and didnt have time to help me and told me to go ask someone else for help! I will NEVER shop here again. I will shop at a store where my business is appreciated and welcomed.

Clean store with wide aisles. Had Randon as a cashier and despite several transactional errors on my part as well as the customer infront of me, he kept his cool the entire time and had a fantastic attitude... I quite literally caused him to call for a manager 3 times and held him up for 10 mins on a 3 item purchase. Ive worked in this business and I cant say for sure I would have been as professional and friendly as he was the ENTIRE time. I usually shop at albertsons because its a bit closer but I will be coming here more often simply because of his FANTASTIC customer service! Thanks for keeping my day going without adding extra stress.

Always clean, helpful staff, excellent fresh produce and meat. The $5 fried chicken (on Friday and Monday) is always a big hit.

I appreciate the great produce dept. As well as the flower variety. However there was only one checker and one at self check out.

Lots of hot chicks in the produce ilses. I always get deals in the meat section tho. Food for thought. If you like awkward stores and high crime, get your groceries from somewhere else.

My employee - who is a regional support person for the PGE line centers - those folks who work in storms and fires to restore power - went to purchase visa gift cards at the direction of a manager for employee holiday virtual lunch. She was treated like she was trying to rob the place. Not only did she have a company credit card with the corporate logo - they didnt believe her and wanted to see her badge, wanted her company ID, called the bank on the credit card, and wanted my name (as her supervisor) and phone number. and was basically given a really hard time. She has since confirmed with other Safeways that there is no policy for this approach - they took it on themselves to ask for all this extra identification. She is also African American. You do the math. Id avoid Oregon City Safeway unless youre white.

This particular safeway is always my first choice to shop. The employees have always been knowledgable and helpful when needed. The store is always clean. Even in these times they seem to be well stocked on most items. (Toilet paper not included) I would recommend this store.

I had missed shopping at Safeway, and Im really glad they came back to Oregon City at Hilltop Shopping Center. Clean and fresh displays, and helpful staff. Just for U coupons are super deals!

Enjoyed the effort made by the store to put in proper signage for social distancing standards. Not like everyone follows them, but at least theres an effort. Plenty of products still on the shelves during covid-19.

They have most everything you need. Good meats, produce and a great bakery. Shelves are restocked all the time.

Selection is ok but priced into the stratosphere

Stores nice, but I hate the parking lot. Its got a lot of parking though.

Manager helping to pay additional register is theres too many people in line. So was able to get through level of register quickly. It was very appreciated.

I can’t say enough good things about Oregon city safeway. The employees and manager Greg and just really great people and the store is always run so well.

Katherine (Deli Manager) is willing to let her employees serve customers food, they’ve politely asked for not on their made to order deli food. When called and spoke to her, she gave me the run around about why not able to do it. So if you have religious beliefs or food allergies, just remember that Katherine the Deli Manager doesn’t care. Her employees have been trained to ignore the customer and listen to themselves.Thanks for serving me pork, despite not being someone to eat pork.

The staff is very friendly and helpful here, which is not something you see too often most places. The shelves are all well stocked. I have not once seen an employee or vendor block aisles off to stock products.

Terrible store and the little manager guy is a joke. Short little guy with glasses. Stares at us again and hes gonna get shorter.
