We had an awesome experience in the store. We went in looking for a camera for a 14 year old that is interested in photography. We found they had used equipment and were able to purchase a very reasonably priced camera with all the accessories for less than a new camera. The staff was VERY knowledgeable and didnt try to sell us the most expensive items in the store. I would highly recommend this store as a wonderful local business!

Needed a lens for my Nikon d610 but didnt have more than $800 to spend at the time. They had a Tamron 35-150 that fits the bill rather well. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Would much rather do business with a local brick and mortar than one of the mega internet companies. Will definitely be going back for future purchases.

B&H Photo actually takes up a whole NYC City Block.)

Ive been shopping here for several years and always been happy. They have an amazing selection of gear...Im always surprised by how much they fit into the shop. I came in yesterday to look at telephoto lenses. I am not a experienced photographer at all. What a wonderful and extremely helpful and informative experience you presented. I called about possibly having some repair work done to my Nikon D90, but they arent able to service that model. That being said, the gentleman that answered the phone was very polite and helpful. He did give me a couple of things to try and see if it might correct my problem. Definitely recommend the store based on my interaction!

I am by no means a professional photographer, I do it for fun but went into this store had the kindest, most encouraging workers that helped guide me in this field. They really took their time to work with me, talk me through my camera issues and help provide feedback to how to get better pictures without spending money! It was all about me as a person not just a customer in the store. We talked for a good 30-40 minutes. I felt so comfortable and really excited to get back out there and try again! This place is awesome and the last photo supply store in the metro area people are resourceful and they wear their mask.

I really like this store. The staff are friendly but not pushy, they know their products, and I dont feel like theyre trying to upsell things I dont need. They have a good selection of most of the equipment you could want, including lenses, bodies, backdrops, lighting supplies, tripods, packs, and darkroom supplies (black and white only).

Great staff, good selection, but sadly no Fujifilm gear, meaning I only shop for accessories there, and check out the used gear for deals(sometimes have KILLER old stuff in there!)

I came in super frustrated over my Sony a6000. It would not display photos on my memory card and the wifi connection/app was glitching between the camera and my phone. The professionals at Overland Photo Supply helped solve all the issues and gave plenty of time and information so I could troubleshoot this on my own if it ever happened again. I am so so pleased that they were able to solve the issues- not just with my camera but helped me understand the navigation on my own phone. They were so kind- definitely gained a lifelong customer!

Ive picked up a few products from Overland Photo before and have always been impressed with the knowledge that the employees have and the extensive variety of products to choose from. That alone is 5 star worthy.But my recent experience here left me compelled to write about the outstanding customer service that this sop provides. I had been having serious issues with my Canon camera and mic set up. Canon customer service wouldnt help me, and getting ahold of the mic manufacturers was proving to be difficult. Knowing how knowledgable the staff at Overland Photo are, I took my camera in for help since I was out of ideas.Sito was incredibly kind and patient. It took nearly an hour to get things up and running, but he was never rude or cut corners. Ive experienced less than kind customer service at other supply shops, and it can really make a person hesitant to reach out for help. Not the case here. After much testing and looking for solutions, the problem was solved and my camera was functioning like it should! I was thrilled since I had really been at my wits end trying to figure everything out.As a result, Im a customer for life!

This is one of the best camera shops in the Midwest. Knowledgeable in all camera makes & models, they are true experts.. Everyone there shot film first & it shows. I always learn something. I just purchased a Nikkor 70-200 2.8 VRII from their used section & it is stellar. Drop in once & you will be back.

This is THE Kansas City photography shop and its the only place I go for digital AND film gear. Not only do they carry everything I need, they know all there is to know about it. The staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, as well as honest. If you come in looking for something you dont really need, they will tell you. I cant speak highly enough of this place.

This is a great Camera Shop! Big shout out to Sito Colon who helped reset camera settings so my lens and camera body could function properly. I received a used camera with lenses. There were several settings that gave an error message and prevented both photos as well as autofocus. I had put several hours into trying to resolve the problem at home and he found the several step solution in about 15 minutes. I really appreciated the help!

Picked up a new tripod today. Price seemed fair. Sales help was very attentive and helpful. This is a one stop shop, they should have most anything you might want. Seems ironic somehow that I dont have any pictures to attach...

All the staff a trained in photography as photographers but are likened to old friends or someone to help when the camera or gear does not work like you thought. Lots of choices to choose from, great prices, and service that you can appreciate year after year.

I dropped my digital camera and bent the lens cover and while It was a simple fix, most people wouldnt touch it. The guy here took care of it no hesitation and no charge. They really know cameras and all things photography! Great store, great staff.

I am so grateful for all the help I received today, I have been to a few different places trying to find out what was wrong with my camera (I am not familiar with camera settings in depth) but I came into Overland Photo Supply today and Sito went above and beyond my expectations. Completely fixed my issue and my camera is now taking beautiful pictures better than it ever has, he also explained to me what he did to fix my issue so I now know how to properly correct issues in the future if they ever come up! I will definitely be going to one of their photography classes on November 13th to learn more and I would encourage anyone else to do so as well!

Went in with a Nikon D5100 that would not take pictures. Sito looked at it got it fixed in the space of five minutes. Asked how much and he said this review was my payment. Saved me $200 bucks and earned a client for life. Simply outstanding!

My camera had a hair on the sensor and was ruining all my pics. I took it in for a cleaning which would have cost close to $70. After the staff assessed the situation, fixed it for FREE after working a good 15 minutes carefully removing the obstruction. Super enthusiastic about cameras and all things associated, as well as their customers. KUDOS!

I have never purchased from this store but have been there a couple of times with issues with my cameras purchased previously from another store. This did not make any difference. They are always very helpful and were successful in resolving my problems. I will definitely buy my next camera from them.

A great location for camera gear in the KC area. The staff is knowledgeable if not very talkative. I have been there several times and have yet to get a consistent interaction. Despite that I still prefer being able to handle gear before buying it and I think supporting a local store is important.

I called trying to buy a replacement lens for my Fuji s1000 (for my daughter to play with before spending $$ on a serious slr camera). He complimented the camera, but explained to me why it wont take a replacement lens. He was also very helpful in pointing me towards a quality camera rental place nearby to achieve the same end.Bottom line: he was very helpful and spent time with me even after it became clear I would not be making a purchase. Ive been going to this store for almost 20 years. They have a huge inventory and are knowledgable about most things related to photography and video. The staff is friendly, professional, attentive, and helpful but dont hound or follow you as you explore.Their prices are comparable to what one can find online and I often shop there because the prices are so competitive. Kansas City is lucky to have a store of this caliber.

Every trip to Overland Photo is a learning experience in one way or another. Bart, Patty & co are always very courteous and helpful. Their collective knowledge of photography and the products they sell make it my go-to place for gear and supplies. I like having such a great resource locally. I would rather deal with them than some East-coast web site any day!!

I had a problem with my point and shoot camera and the staff on Saturday was very helpful explaining what the issue was. They were able to give me a nice band-aid fix which will help me decide if the issue is terminal. No pressure to buy, they just have a passion for all things cameras! Totally recommend!

I have done business with the owners for nearly 30 years going back to when they worked at J&J Camera. They are very knowledgeable and great to work with. A beautiful store with great selection and sadly the last of its kind in this area.

Called about a repair issue, and even though they do not offer that service anymore because the repair man retired, the gentlemen on the phone went above and beyond assisting me in trouble shooting. We went back and forth with questions and offered solutions for a good solid while. Even offered a recommendation on a good repair shop in the greater KC area. In the end, he indicated to call for any questions, if it helps you save a dollar. The kindness and assistance was truly heartwarming. They didnt have to help me; could have simply said, No, we dont do that anymore and hang up like most other businesses. But even though they were not making an immediate dime, they still treated me like I threw down a thousand in their store. I will definitely be in soon and want to let people know how great they are at customer service. I am a small business owner myself and hope to achieve that level of care in each client at the end of the day.

BUT there are times when amazon just wont cut it.I’m an out of towner, working an event at the WWI war museum, taking celebrity photo ops. I was running out of paper and still needed enough paper for the following day. I called OPS and spoke with Sito, two minutes before they closed, and told him my situation. I try to buy things from this store as often as possible because its one of the few camera stores left in operation. Honestly the prices are a little high on just about everything, but they do have a large selection and if you need something fast its helpful to have them around. Supporting local businesses can be more expensive, but it is nice to know your dollars help your community.

The folks that work at Overland Photo Supply are always well informed and eager to explain how a product works. I visited recently and couldnt be happier with the speedlight accessories I needed for a senior photos session--the client was stoked with the results; see attached.I also must commend their staff (one gentleman in particular) for being honest and literally saving me money. As I was leaving the parking lot, I heard a shout coming from the storefront. Once I looped back around, an upstanding OPS team member handed me $40 that had fallen to the floor as I was checking out. Thanks again for always being a place I can count on!
