Ive dealt with Kurt in the past, who is awesome. Today, I bought a beautiful Fender bass from Alex. He was very communicative. Friendly and knew how to conduct business. Dylan also assisted, who I believe was the manager. What a team! They were very concerned about meeting the needs of a repeat customer. I’ll admit, I was rather demanding because of time constraints. They were true professionals. Alex followed up with me when I left part of my purchase at the store which was my fault, not his.Finally, Roman did a great job setting up my new bass. He has helped me in the past on two basses and is awesome. I highly recommend this location. What a great team!

We stopped at Music and Arts. They were nice, had a few benches. But they said wed find more options at GC.So we left. At GC, we walk in, place is fairly busy. Two guys at the front desk say Hi. I address one, asking about piano benches. He takes me back to the keyboards, shows me a few, but says the guys back there will be able to help me much better. I say cool, thanks, and he walks away.We were back there for 10 min, and I opened a box, pulled the bench out, had my mother try it out, pull it over to the other bench, compare them, discuss a few things, put the bench back in the box, and we left. Not once did anyone else approach or address us. We went BACK to Music and Arts and bought the same bench. They EARNED our business. And well go there again.

I came for a hard guitar case and received rude service because I couldnt reach the guitar cases that were high above my head on some loft thing. When I asked for help, I didnt receive it. I bought a different case, but only because there were no other places that would have what I wanted. I almost walked out with nothing because of the poor service.

Brought my son here for his 13th birthday. He found a great guitar at a great price. Staff was very helpful and the selection is getting back to pre-covid levels.

It’s a very nice location (easy to find) and there was a wide selection of guitars/instruments ect.. The prices were also very reasonable to what I saw. In the acoustic guitar section there was a guitar on sale at the price of $79. There was also a lot of good guitars that were less then $160 but there are also guitars that are at this price $$$$ (my Yamaha guitar was $159 which was a recommend (affordable) beginner guitar made by the staff). The only downside of this location is that there was a lack of staff so, if you needed help you had to wait. Although there was a lack of staff there were very knowledgeable and friendly; and with there help it was very easy to decide what you need based on your needs. I also had help pitching the guitar and was given recommendations with questions that I asked. If you are a complete newbie, coming here will help because the staff is so, helpful (doesn’t push the most expensive stuff at you) and knowledgeable. I recommend going to this shop (it’s also very aesthetically pleasing).

They didnt have what I was looking for, but the service was great! The associate answered all my questions and pointed out his choices of equipment. I will definitely be back when I need something that they carry.

Pretty solid music store, however very standard in both size and selection. the employees were interesting, polite, and very helpful. last time i went they were pretty picked through and the store was a little messy, though i assume this change in environment was a product of the COVID pandemic. for many years, guitar center was the absolute place to go for your gear. im giving them four stars because i have faith that the franchise and employees will return the store to its former glory

This is absolutely my favorite place, to purchase music gear. Staff is very knowledgeable about products. There is a large selection of whatever your music needs are.

This locations staff has always been incredibly friendly and knowledgeable! Low pressure sales team wont try to push the most expensive equipment on you. Theyve offered me better equipment at lower prices as opposed to just going with the highest price tag! Would definitely recommend this location to anyone at ANY budget

Went in looking for a pair of headphones for a birthday gift. Was directed where to go in the store. Went to the display which was completely cordoned off so you couldnt handle the headphones, although you could handle everything else in the store. I walked around the display a few times and waited for a salesperson to approach. There were two at the counter. One on a computer and the other in a conversation. I approached the counter and as I did, the person that was on the computer picked up the phone and dialed. I waited for him to be done, no conversation was going on on the phone, he didnt even make eye contact or tell me hed be with me in a bit. No one except the guy at the door who pointed in the direction I needed to go even acknowledged my existence. I will not be back.

The staff is always helpful. The lessons are reasonable and great for beginners. You can use any guitar off of the wall for your lessons!

I had a really helpful and nice employee (Anna) help me get everything I wanted to play and tell me a bit about the guitars and their stock. That was great and I was able to play what I wanted. Noteworthy that they could use more help, and its a bit of a hassle to have the employees find the right key for various guitar locks and get those out each time. I also played one used guitar (an expensive one) and it was dirty and gross. A damp paper towel would go a long way to making that look near new before you hang it on the wall.

Possibly the best guitar center around great selection in store.

I placed an order using a gift card with a online order. Everything went through fine the correct amount was deducted from the gift card. But as soon as it shipped the gift card was suddenly no good and my checking account was overdrawn and when I call customer service to ask about the order and inquire why the gift card was not accepted they hang up on meIf guitar center only knew how much professional stage hands spend in a store like theirs they would understand how much business they are losing over a $50 gift card!

Some of the most abrasive people i have ever met work at this guitar center. Ill go ahead and say that there Are two guys that work here that are ok, they both have glasses and normal length hair and one has a beard, dont know their names. However, on multiple occasions i have had terrible experiences with the others.My first bad experience was when I went to buy guitar strings. I needed one string for my acoustic guitar, as i was restringing it and had my high E snap. I knew exactly what i needed, However, the JDM fanboy clerk kept trying to tell me that i needed a pair of $20 elixir strings, and treated me like i had never even seen a guitar before. His demeanor was so belittling its absurd.Fast forward to about 2 months ago, i went in and was playing bass (i was alone in the store.) Same JDM boy comes up, unplugs a guitar amp from the guitar section, brings it OVER to the bass section, and starts playing so loud that i couldnt hear myself play even at 12 oclock on a fender rumble 500. I was probably going to buy something until that occurred.Last and probably final experience here was when i went to pick up a guitar from the tech. Hes done some work on previous guitars and i knew he was at least ok. However, when i get my guitar back, the strings are (in the most literal sense possible) covered in rust. I lightly ran my fingers along the strings and they came off orange. Thankfully one of the two nice salespeople refunded me and let me play a custom shop tele.My advice is just dont go here. It may be farther to another guitar store but its damn near guaranteed to be better than here. Very dissapointing and that one guy has lost the store a good probably couple grand. wont be returning.

We bought a amp for beginners, picks and method books. The staff was helpful. Would have liked more song books to choose from designed for beginners.

This place was great. I went in with zero knowledge of guitars to buy one for a gift. The store was clean and the staff was very helpful. Unfortunately I ended up having to order what I wanted from them but they had it shipped within 12 hours

My review is about an experience I had about 3 years ago with the service/repair department. I dont recommend anyone to bring their valuable/vintage instrument for service here.I brought my vintage electric guitar (1978) for a general servicing and fix a couple of minor problems. When I picked up the guitar the things that were supposed to be fixed were fixed in a way that created more damage than benefit and, much worse, the guitar had a few dents in the back and sides.They certainly refunded to me the service money, but what I regret the most is that I didnt demand them to now do things properly and have it all fixed by a third party capable of performing this type of work, at their cost. I just wanted to leave that place and never come back.

On line sale, paid for a Cordoba humidcase for my flamenco guitar, after 4 days waiting for the pickup at the store they sent me a kids green fender guitar... looks like a bad joke... but it is what it is... guitar center is not the same it used to... unfortunately if you are a musician this need to be your very last option.

Very hospitable staff. The store was very clean and well operated. They were out of SEVERAL pianos and mixing boards but I would have to guess that its because of shipping with COVID and quarantine going on. No pushy selling. Just good vibes and good music.

I loved them the first time we shopped there but after that customer service severely dropped. They acted as if our business wasnt important to them.

Pretty much standard GC culture. Friendly until they realize youre not buying the guitar in the store and then like a light switch they get downright ugly.Plus the florida man thats in every guitar center that comes in and stares at you and plays nonsense when youre trying to test a guitar out.

Getting really fed up with this place! My son bought me a guitar there and its a good guitar but it has been a nightmare ever since.4 times i have been there to buy items and noone will help they seem to be more interested in the guys who hang out and spend no money. Try to get someone to help and they walk away to be on their phone! My son is now embarrassed that he got me tangled up with them.I am returning the guitar so i will have someone who cares about customer service! Oh and do t call to complain because the manager on the other end will sound like a robot who sayys a lot of um hmmms Even after i told him i live 60 miles away....ps...didnt matter to them!

Just bought our 4th guitar from Kurt W. at 119th st Guitar Center. Notbing but positive tbibgs to say. He is very good at knowing when to help a customer, and when to give them some time and space to explore options.

I needed to buy a cable for my sons guitar. I have no idea about guitar cords and I walked around with a picture of the cord on my phone. One guy that worked that told me to move out of his way so he could get a big cart with empty boxes on it past me. I asked if he worked here and could someone please help me find a guitar chord. He said they are on the other side. I found one that I hope works and I went to the counter to pay for it. The lady checking me out ask me if I found everything, I said no she kind of laughed and said what do you need, I said nevermind Ill go somewhere else that has customer service and they can help people.

9/10 Ill spend 45 minutes or longer here. Ill play riffs on their guitars, experiment with sounds with their amps, run scales on their keyboards, practice paradiddels on their drums, skim through their books and even ask questions....they dont mind! Great customer services and I find their prices competitive. Guitar Center as an adult is Toys R Us to as a kid. 💜

Its a guitar center, pretty cut and dry. Not a warm and fuzzy local music store, but it serves its purpose.

I love this place. For beginners or pros this is the place to go. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly. I play a few different instruments and Guitar Center is always my go to for guitar, bass, keyboards, drums, microphones, and my recording needs.

I got a drum set around Christmas time, I had lots of questions!! The person that helped me was great, she did her best to help me out! I was in your store the other day for a amp. and again the person helping me was great. When I’m not sure about what to get is where I need help the most help and your store has came through for me at least 4 time in a row. Don’t stop hiring nice people that know there stuff!!! I stopped by with my four year old daughter to purchase a keyboard. I was wearing a mask, but my daughter was not as they are not required under the current state mandate due to her age. I was greeted at the front door by a store employee who told me that my daughter would need to wear a mask. I explained that the state mandate specifically states that children under the age of 12 are not required to wear a mask due to fear of suffocation. Ill take my money elsewhere and support a locally owned music store.

After purchasing over $100 worth of equipment ($118.29 to be exact) I was asked by the cashier if they could round up because there was a change shortage. I said no, Id take my exact change. I was then told that wasnt an option, so I said Id split the difference with them, again I was told that wasnt an option. So I said, whatever give me my dollar bill and receipt (I paid $120 in cash). When they opened up the drawer, it was full of change...quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies. Guitar center was not having a change shortage. When the general manager said goodbye to me as I was exiting, I suggested they take the change out of their drawer so customers cant see it after being told they are having a change shortage. He went on to tell me that they had to conserve their change. For who I asked. Apparently they are saving change for customers other than me. Very disappointing experience. Ill go elsewhere for business if no attempt to reconcile the situation is taken. I could care less about the 71 cents, but the way I was treated is not acceptable.

I would give this store a ZERO if I could. ADA means nothing to them. I hope you discriminate a lawyer or somebody with deep pockets someday and they make you pay. I have never seen such discrimination of a child, yes child, with downs syndrome before. Shame on this company. Your discrimination has lost sales of 2 instruments and of life long customers.

Unimaginably busy before Christmas. I came in hoping to talk to someone about a guitar case for my new guitar, but it looked like about the several dozen other folks in the store also wanted customer service. Its a crowded space, but theyve got an amazing selection. Prices are always better online, but being able to go in and and see what youre buying is often worth the price markup. I appreciate the rooms to the side to test out guitars as well.

Love this place. They have SO MANY INSTRUMENTS. Ukueles, drums, guitars, trumpets, ect. Every employee is at the ready to help you pick out the instrument best for you.

Love the friendly people & their knowledge. I just wish they had a bigger selection of Taylor acoustic & acoustic-electric guitars especially, I would rather my business stay in my state rather than having to go to the Guitar Center in Kansas, off of Metcalf, I believe.

They have arrows taped on the floor for directing traffic thru the store. People kinda wander around but are all courteous of others space!

Long story short, I was touring with my band and our first gig was in Kansas city, someone forgot the microphones in Chicago so we needed to rent, we went to this location, they where slammed with customers and the guy in the microphones section was so helpful, thanks for all the help.

I didnt really understand what I was purchasing so I read everything off my husband had texted me. The associate went and picked out everything that I asked for while I just stood there. This Guitar Center location is definitely a place that is closest to me to get guitar strings and supplies. However, I think customer service could be better. There were moments that I was there where I felt like I was not getting any assistance. I definitely recommend this Guitar Center store but be sure that you are proactive in finding an employee

After having an overwhelming amount of issues with a particular D’Angelico guitar, a tech here by the name of Patrick went above and beyond my expectations. He worked with me the best that he could as well as one of the managers there to get my issues resolved. After years of avoiding Guitar Centers, I think I’ll be coming back to this one a lot more. Im not one to do many reviews but felt this needed saying. I came in to have my guitar looked at. At the door I was approached by an employee who made sure I followed the arrows to the counter. Approached. Not greeted. Then I stood at the counter for abt 7 min with employees all around making eye contact with me but never asking if I needed assistance. Only when another person came up to make a purchase was I talked too. Horrible customer service. I will not visit again.

Very clean and safe location with a good selection of guitars!! The staff, especially the door greeter was INCREDIBLY nice and welcoming thru very confusing entry times. Im not a fan of the one way aisles, as common sense should prevail when in a confined location, to be respectful of others in the store, but this is probably just to appease the state laws and regulations right now.

Sales staff very friendly and helpful. I made a new purchase and had all the time and help a person could need. I didnt feel pressured to by the instrument and was pleased with the final price. I would recommend this store to others.

I check this Guitar center out at least a couple times a month. They keep their stock up to date and, as of late, have a pretty nice used guitar stock. They have gone through a bit of staffing change within the last couple months but are still friendly though there isnt the same rapport with their customers. Thats just growing pains in tge big city though. It is still a nice store and a fun place to be shopping for guitar gear.
