Great experience at Meyer Music for my childs piano lessons. They have time slots that work with our schedule, the price is affordable, and Liz is such a great teacher. I will continue to use for my younger childrens lessons when they get older!
Johnson County’s best home town music store. I love the lessons I take there they are affordable and fun. I play a non traditional instrument, the mountain dulcimer, and they could still accommodate me! They have it all.
We rented our instrument from Meyer Music at a local pop up. The two representatives were very informative, patient and kind. I really enjoyed being able to rent in person near my home and that the representatives were able to take time to explain everything to me as it was our first time. Overall we had a great experience!
I LOVE my piano teacher! She is patient, informative, knowledgeable, pleasant and a great teacher! I’m a “senior” beginner and it’s like learning a new language but amazingly fun!
They took great care of us in getting the right sized cello for my son. They were very busy and got us in quickly. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff.
2 lessons so far for guitar. Instructor interested in my goals and interests and Taylors the lessons listen to my needs.
Great staff at the front desk and the teachers are wonderful. It’s really easy to get any type of music book there also. One stop shop!
Meyer Music always does a great job! We’ve rented violins and violas there for years. Great service, very knowledgeable staff. Have done some lessons there too that were good. Tialani was very helpful and patient with all the questions! Highly recommend.
The staff was friendly and very knowledgeable. We were able to rent an instrument for my child’s school orchestra and we will be able to trade up to a larger instrument as she grows.
Meyer does a great job and makes sure students have what they need. High quality rentals. Great costumer service!
I was looking for a keyboard and liked what I had to choose from. Sales person was so helpful. Store was very clean and well organized. Delivery was timely and great as the keyboard was set up for me and ready for our enjoyment.
This store has outstanding service and offers quality products!! They have been so helpful and friendly anytime I’ve interacted with them. They are highly involved in the community and give back to the schools too which I value so much!! Thank you, Meyer Music!!
Easy rental process, quick approval, and pick up availability. Hands down happy
Meyer music is the safe and secure way to put an instrument in your childs hands that is guaranteed to work well for them. If you dont want a poor quality instrument to hold back your student get set up with an instrument from these guys!
Meyer Music has been very helpful! They have responded quickly to my inquiries about music scores and repairs. They have a good supply of sheet music and were helpful in guiding me to other options when they could not immediately meet my request. I’ll keep going to them for my music needs!
As a band director, I have dealt with many music stores. Meyer Music is consistently one of the best companies with whom Ive worked. Their attention to detail, their attentiveness to my needs, and their willingness to work with what I need is second to none. Their rent to own program is excellent and provides students with good quality instruments.
Great customer service! My son has been playing violin for a few years now and we rent our violin from Meyers. They always provide excellent customer service for repairs, at least twice his bridge on his instrument has been removed by little sister and Meyers has fixed this promptly for us and tuned our instrument. Pricing on required music books is fair. Have never had a bad experience at this long standing store. It’s a great stop for your musical needs.
Meyer Music has been essential to the success of my band program! Their store staff is knowledgeable, their road men are all former music educators who are willing to help out in the classroom, and their instrument brands are many of the best available. Additionally through their BAND OF ANGELS program, take donated used instruments- fix them to where they play and work again. Then they provide these to students in Kansas and Missouri schools to students who can’t afford to purchase or rent instruments. They also have a “musical art auction” annually and in 2020 raised $60,000 to send middle and high school musicians to summer band camps! It is my pleasure to support this great family run music store for all that they do for Kansas City and area music educators!!!
Great service. Made everything quick and easy!! Will definitely use them again!!
Meyer Music is a music store that goes beyond retail, rental, repair and sales. I rely heavily on them for private lessons, purchasing advice, and materials for my students. They are constantly thinking of ways to make our jobs as music teachers easier and they are creative in solving problems, especially given our current circumstances. Mike Meyer and his team also send out educational partners to help band directors with instrument repair and instruction. One of their team members--Eddie Miles--has held sectionals for my students and those kids come back as better musicians and more excited about their instruments at the end of each session.Meyer Music has also implemented on online school store where parents can still shop local and get instruments, accessories and books for their students in less time than it would take for a big name shipping service to deliver.Mike is consistently generous in supporting our students programs in the KC metro area. They have always been willing to sponsor us in our fundraising efforts.Meyer Music is a huge part of our music education community. Our programs wouldnt be what they are without their professionalism and commitment to our students and teachers.
Great experience with Shawn. He helped me choose a piano and it was delivered on the next business day. Unbelievable. We are so in love with it!
Meyer Music has played a big role in the music that filled our home. The team at Meyer is outstanding at helping band students select the instrument that will make music fun and rewarding. This is one of KCs outstanding multi-generation family businesses. The Meyer team has gone far beyond just selling product, and has further fulfilled their purpose of bringing music into kids lives through their work with Band of Angels, an organization that continues to have a positive impact on the KC community. These are high quality folks you will be happy to do business with.
Very quick cleaning, good prices, Great communication!
I had to drop my sons trumpet off for some much needed service and cleaning The man who helped me was very nice and professional
We have purchased both our boys band instruments from Meyer Music and had a great experience. The employees are very helpful! I also play saxophone in a few local cover bands and have had my sax serviced several times through Meyer Music with great success!
Our son has been taking private guitar lessons from Meyer Music for the last 3 years and his experience has been amazing. Great quality lessons. The instructor is TOP NOTCH. Always professional and engaging. Highly recommend!
Our daughters took piano lessons at Meyer Music for two years starting at ages six and eight. We had a wonderful experience with each of the instructors that we used over that timeframe. You definitely can’t go wrong with the pool of talent and teaching capability at Meyer Music. The girls enjoyed piano so much that we ended up purchasing a keyboard which they continue to enjoy to this day. The staff at Meyer Music is always accommodating and terrific to work with. We can’t recommend them enough!
Excellent customer service and overall experience renting a violin for my 6th grader.
Meyer Music is a wonderful community store. I Had a great experience with my violin rental. Their Band of Angels program helps needy kids in the community get musical instruments and the opportunity to go to band camp. Highly recommend!
Streamlined process. Clean, friendly environment. Competitive pricing. Easy to do business here. We rented a cello here for our daughter. We’ll see how it goes with maintenance, but so far we’ve had a very good experience with them.
Great service. Friendly staff. Quality stringed instruments for students in the area!
From the beginning of the instrument purchase process, Meyer music has been amazing! Knowledgeable staff, customer service that goes above and beyond, and they always have what I need in stock. Excellent job Overland Park team - I’m sure the other locations are just as awesome!
The message I sent was answered quickly. All of the questions I asked were answered. I will need to go to the store for more exact information, which I had planned on, but I have the basic information I wanted.
I have had nothing but positive experiences with Meyer Music. They have always strived to provide exceptional customer service along with high quality student instruments.
Meyer Music has everything you need for the musician in your family. They are a family business and have the best customer service and selection! It feels good doing business with a company that does so much for our community (Band of Angels).
The staff is always courteous and respectful to me, even when I screw up and accidentally let my kid miss a class. They always let me reschedule and are very understanding about it. The instructors are also top-notch and very good at what they do.
What great knowledgeable people who genuinely care that you have what you need - they really know what they’re talking about - excellent service
Meyer Music takes great care in providing the best service to many KC area music programs. They always go above and beyond.
They made renting a school instrument fast and easy to understand. They have a great set up and make the instrument growing with your kiddo as smooth as possible. DEFINITELY recommend.
Wow! First off, the most friendly and helpful people. I emailed to find out if appts were needed or if I could come by to look around and gauge prices. They responded to my email so fast and gave me all the information I needed. I went in yesterday and a gentleman helped me. I feel bad that I can’t remember his name!!! Anyways, I wanted to figure out about getting my violin now cleaned or how to go about the process and he answered my questions. My bow was missing a piece and he was t sure if that would affect getting it regained. They actually sell the same bows so he showed them to me and gave me the choice to regain or purchase a new one. Having the option given was great. I also wanted a new shoulder rest and he again showed me my options and I chose the one I wanted. I have had my violin since I was about 10 I think (5th grade) and have never bought or done anything to my bow or shoulder rest so they have been used a lot and were very worn. I hadn’t played for a period of 5-6 years and started playing a bit last year. So I was very thankful for the quick response, super helpful, and very friendly and informative staff. I wound up getting a new bow (kept the old one as a backup) and a new shoulder rest!!! Thank you so much!!!! I will be back with any other musical things I need in the future.
Great store with super knowledgeable staff. Would recommend to anyone looking for an instrument!
Just had a quick question via text and received response with helpful info very quickly
Have been to Meyer Music for many years. Great family owned store and good people.
Meyer Music is a great family-run business, who are truly partners in music education. If you want to get set up correctly with an instrument, Meyer is the place to go.
The shop employee was very nice and appreciative of the clarinet and tenor sax that we donated to Band of Angels. Very nice shop!!!
I had a great experience purchasing my kawai piano! I looked all over town and meyer music had the best price and service. They also recommended a piano tuner who was wonderful. All in all, I wholeheartedly recommend buying your next piano at meyer 🎶Music 🎹🎹🎹🎹
Very pleased. High quality, one-on-one instruction. We’ve had positive experiences with the percussion teachers at Meyer and would definitely recommend Meyer.
Awesome store and employees! Very flexible and friendly! We will be returning!
Great customer service. Needed a repair and it got completed very quickly. I would recommend this place.
Friendly and helpful. Always had positive experiences over last 5 years.
Very nice people been renting instruments for 3 years and have absolutely no complaints
They were very helpful and swift ... friendly but got us in and out with no questions left unanswered.
Thanks for Essential Elements. It’s my favorite book series ever. I particularly enjoyed Book 3 (the violin edition) since the songs were great.
This was a very customer friendly music store. Not a high pressure sales place either, Shawn you rock!
My daughter recently got braces and she was having a hard time adjusting with her flute. I called on a Friday, we were able to get a lesson on Saturday and Rachel gave her some great tips and she is already sounding better! Thank you so much 👍
Meyer Music is a mainstay of our familys life. For the past 13 years, our children have taken lessons here from some of the most competent teachers weve had the fortune of meeting. Were consistently impressed with the caliber of the staff under Mr. Kelly; thanks to them we feel like part of the family. If pressed, I wouldnt be able to put a price on this place. Meyer Music has provided our family and friends a much needed avenue for self-expression and has even changed the course of a special young mans life. Thanks for the past 13 years, and heres to 30 more!
Very helpful and fast response!
Great customer service! The instrument we ordered (Marimba) was at their Blue Springs store and they had it transferred to the OP store. John then decided to deliver to our house and set it up!! Thanks for the excellent service and care!
Great service every time!
Taught my kid saxophone... He plays well in middle School band now. Thanks.
When my son wanted to try the trumpet, I had no idea where to go for the instrument. His Olathe school made some suggestions, and after some online research, we ended up at Meyer Music. Rental was quick and easy AND I knew if my son enjoyed playing the trumpet that the money I had paid for renting would be applied to the purchase. Unfortunately, my son lost interest during his first year, so we took the instrument back. There were no questions asked. A KC family-owned business that Ill continue to support!
I got my very first violin in their store located near Missouri, but I just found out this place was here! I feel like that the other store was better due to great staff to customer communication, but loved the experience eitherway.
Parents need to keep track of missed lessons and payments. There could be miscommunication between the front desk staff and the teacher. They might ask you to pay for a cancelled lesson! Also you would better not expect any apology from them when this happen because they never do!
My six year old has been taking piano lessons here for just three months but has learned soo much! He loves piano, loves his teacher, and I love the results! Money well spent!
Their customer service in unusually bad. I went there to buy a trumpet for my daughter and they brought one out from the back. They absolutely refused to show me any other options and got visibly annoyed when I asked. I have taken my other daughters clarinet in for service three times and Im always made to feel like an inconvenience instead of a customer. I guess their school contracts keeps them financially sound enough that they dont have to worry about how they treat people. You would think that a business that caters to heavily to schools would offer short term rentals while a students instrument is being repaired but they dont. The icing on the cake is a sign taped to their front counter saying that any repaired instrument not picked up withing 14 days will be sold. If it wasnt for school contracts where most people dont have direct contact with the store I dont see how they could stay in business.
Everyone is friendly and knowledgeable!
Absolutely horrible customer care. Completely ridiculous policy for rescheduling a lesson. If you cannot make it for your regularly scheduled day/time you must reschedule for PRIOR to that day/time. Otherwise you still have to pay for the missed lessons. They absolutely will not give credit toward the following month or allow the lesson to be made up the following week. Zero exceptions for emergencies, etc. If you want a place that is there to SERVE its customers DO NOT go here.
I normally don’t write reviews but It’s been a long time that I’ve been a customer somewhere and an employee belittled me. There was a gentleman that was helpful but the girl who rang us up was so rude. My son is playing an instrument this year for the first time so naturally I had tons of questions! I would ask her questions and she would look to the side and then answer with an attitude. Every question I asked she made me feel like I was asking a dumb question. AND when I joked with her and said sorry I never played an instrument in highschool she didn’t even respond and even walked away while I was talking to her! This location is so close to my home but if I ever need anything again I will drive out of my way to go to a different store. Customer service is important. I should be able to ask all the questions I need without judgment or an attitude.
Went in to buy a music book, and it turned out to be the wrong one. They were 100% accommodating, and was in and out in minutes with no hassle. We will be shopping there again!!
Best music ever I did guitars and now Im in the middle school orchestra
Friendly, helpful staff, clean store
You wont find a more knowledgeable or committed group of music supporters. Every one of their stores has been great to work with, especially the new Overland Park location.
Myers music is very unprofessional and lack in customer service. I sent a saxophone in for a minor repair and it came back with more damage done to it. Do not trust this place for repairs. They absolutely will not take any blame. On top of everything they are very rude on the phone.
Ive had the pleasure of working with the Meyer family and seeing how passionate they are about bringing music in to the lives of young people. Ive been in their Blue Springs store and theres a great selection of Yahama pianos to choose from.
Very helpful
My son took guitar lessons here for a year. Lessons are very short once you get done chit chatting and getting down to business.
Instrument will not last through HS and if they have your cc number theycharge it without your permission do your best NOT to do business withthem
Nice Place!
Very helpful staff.
They specialize mainly in piano, so if you need a guitar, go somewhere else.
Asome i love it
