Great experience with a very knowledgeable staff. I brought in an acoustic bass that was nearly unplayable and they repaired it to a condition better than when I had originally purchased it. Highly recommend!

I love this place, and i try and go when im not at work, even if it is just some guitar strings and a cable, jerry is a funny guy and easy going, just dont act stupid in his store and try and ruin his rep., respect him and you will get the same.

Im a bias reviewer. Jerry taught me how to play and with that knowledge I have played all over the world. He will be honest with you and how things work. I always bring my gear back to him because he knows his stuff so well.

I brought in a explorer copy to have fret work, set up, nut modification and new pick ups installed. I played this guitar when I first received it brand new in the box. Seconds later I put it back in the box and considered it for firewood. I took it to upper room and I gotta tell ya.. I can’t put this guitar down now. He did an unbelievable job!! It sounds and plays like a monster!! Thanks!

The staff has recently improved their customer service, my recent visits have been very pleasant. Jerry @ Upper Room has quite the selection of boutique pedals/amps as well as an entire room of acoustic instruments. This could be the best music store in town.

Average music shop,prices a bit steep for what they was selling.Felt the owner was very rude.I askes if he would match prices he got very rude acting.Many shops in my travels will try today to be competitive and at least try work deals owner was very rude.I traveled over 2 hours to visit cause they carried a certain line of gear.Will never return and also have contacted the company in which they purchase this gear from as they are distributing there product,was told by distributors that they have gotten other bad reviews as well!.Hope distributors pull there dealing with them!.Point blank there is cheaper places closer in the area!..

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE!Absolutely regret my visit to this store. I drove an hour to check out the selection of guitar pedals with a budget, I explained my exp. position and what Im looking for and was ready to buy! Until...Jerry, the owner, was the least friendly salesman I have ever experienced in my life. Jerry was incredibly rude saying several times loudly presuming I was just trying things out to buy online and kept saying I hope your going to buy something and not waste my time (this was after I repeatedly said I was, just deciding!). He was a broken record with snarky remarks. Its a damn shame he doesnt know he needs to hire some help so he can get to his other work in the back(besides selling to customers in store?)! Jerry seemed upset that a customer was in the shop looking to browse and buy! After being rushed, I was finalizing between two diff. type pedals before I made my final purchase ...Jerry flat out told me to LEAVE HIS STORE and go get lunch and think about it. Here I was maybe 3 minutes away from paying...and Im being told to get out and come back when I Know what I want.... I almost threw down the items I came specifically for after that after such a rude comment. Was I doing him a favor? Unacceptable way to treat a customer.If you dont want people to come in and leave to go purchase online instead - be a better salesman. You wonder whats scaring people off? Your attitude looking at the watch and tapping your toes.Guitar Center is always happy to give me time to let me make my purchases and explain differences. Guitar Center also doesnt brush you off if you dont have 500-2000$ to spend on whatever they push on you.If you are looking to go to a snooty music store where you will be treated as a burden for buying(you better be in a rush!) at higher prices than local competitors - heres your place!Extremely disappointed with my experience in Upper Room Music and with the customer service. Never going back.

Didn’t have a big stock of guitars mostly YamahaAlso I’m 14 but I was trying out an Ernie ball musicman and when I was playing it the owner asked me if I’m ready to buy it and I told him I can’t I’m not from here and he told me that he didn’t want me to scratch it up but he doesn’t mind me playing it and he told me to put it upAnd this isn’t a big deal but he made me go to a certain amp that was a VOX with a preampBut on the pictures I saw that they had a Mesa boogie mark 5-25 that I wanted to try and I had to tell them I wanted to play the guitar so he made me go to the VOXBut one thing I did like was seeing all the ampsGo to mountain music exchange in pikeville ky

Numerous guitar & bass setups, amp/pedal repairs done here and all top shelf work done in a timely manner. Have bought guitars (Gretsch, Zion, Yamaha) amps (a couple Voxs) and pedals (Fulltone, JHS, Boss, etc.) and accessories (cables, capos, strings, recording gear) from Upper Room and never have had an issue with customer service. Great for the seasoned pro who knows the true value of Jerrys flawless tech work and the supply of high end products but also the casual hobbyist can have their needs met here too. Its nice to go in and be educated on products and even the application of these products and it makes me just want to purchase from here more. Shop local and shop small! I could always go online to buy my strings and things but I guess Im old school and need to visit a real place and get to know my business owners in person-- you never know when you might need them in a pinch-- Upper Room has bailed me out of several guitar crises over the years.

I have been in there twice and they are very helpful and very nice.

Was very close to closing in on a purchase until I was told that the owner felt like I was using him for his products, Was going to leave and buy online to save a buck, and Was wasting his time by coming in. I would have purchased the item from the shop, but absolutely will not support a business run by a man with no respect for his fellow musicians.
