They usually always have what you need when it comes to sports. Theyre a little pricey, but they dont really have any competition here. Either way, I love the store, atmosphere, and kind employees.

Clean but a bit confusing to get around. The racks are so tall we had difficulties seeing or getting to some products.

Great variety of sports and outdoor equipment. Priced a little higher than the norm but not too much so that I dont shop there. Delightful staff that is always willing to help.

Good well stocked store with good customer service. It would have been 5 stars if their bathrooms with cleaner and in serviceable order. Paper towels were out and the bathroom was just dirty in general.

Shopped in this store two different times and both times purchasing a bebe gun (CO2 air handguns) they worked very well the first few times and then they quit being able to seal the CO2 in. It started busting every canister of CO2 we would replace. Faulty items..

Made a trip to Academy Sports in Owensboro Ky today. Had an issue to address with customer service. It was honestly one of the most pleasant exchanges with customer service I have ever had. Associates are very nice and helpful. I am surprised that you dont offer a veterans discount all of the time instead of just certain times of the year when a lot of veterans dont see it or cant get to your store. It appears that you just want a little show but really not caring about the veterans. There are several stores in this area that give veterans discount and we appreciate them and shop there. We came there tonight because our grandson gave us a gift card for Christmas but we have told him to not buy anymore because Academy does not support veterans. Just remember the veterans were protecting you too!!! Thank you in advance for reading my opinion.

Awsome store with very friendly staff & a wide range of items to choose from. One of the few places in my area where I can find curing salt. The prices on the items I looked at & purchased were in line with my expectations if not less than what I anticipated for good quality items. They have a good sized inventory of fishing, hunting, camping & outdoor cooking gear. I didnt check out their sports equipment on this trip but the variety looks good.

It was pretty cool, just dont buy their leather laces, i pulled on then to make sure they were sturdy and they broke, very bad quality leather. If youre looking for ammo you better be there first thing in the morning 630 am on mondays or wednesday, and theyre gone within 15

Always a great place to go for anything outdoors. Best prices in the area.

Service was fine enough. Shelves were not well stocked because of COVID (not their fault). I was more appalled at how few regulations were followed at the store. Employees had mass on but pulled them down below their noses, sometimes all the way down below their chins. No one was sanitizing carts, no one was making sure people stayed 6 ft apart. Worse, the checkout area is not made to be COVID safe. Cashiers stood behind plexiglass casing that only covered a portion of the counter and did not cover the portion of the counter where customers have to pay using their credit cards. The store has a sign up saying that it requires masks, but no one was enforcing that rule at all. Honestly, I would feel more comfortable spending my money there if the store spent more of an effort to follow COVID-19 regulations.

This place is pretty cool. Had a lot to look at. We came in for softball cleats but were not able to find any. They had a ton of football, soccer, and golf cleats though. We settled for a pair and my husband says theyre the most comfortable ones hes had and they were not expensive at all. One guy at the register barely said 2 words to me or the several people in front of me. The next day I came back and same guy barely spoke but another guy opened another register and he was friendly.

Items that are sold out take FOREVER to get re-stocked!! Several empty spots on the golf ball shelves and they have had 8 empty pegs of a soft plastic fishing lure for at least 3 weeks!! One star and I made myself give them that!!

Unfriendly staff is surprising- however the store ia always clean and well put together. Still only go here as a last resort. And with two kids in sports thats a sale they will feel. Maybe better management who can motivate the young ones would be the best decision

Great prices and selection! The staff are willing to help you find things online if they dont have it in store. The fishing selection is great and they have solid prices.The only thing theyre missing from other academy stores is a reloading selection.

Nice clean store. Everything is laid out where you can find what you are looking for easily. There is not a large selection of some items but a large selection of others. Prices are average unless you can find it on sale. They have a large shoe selection that my family loves.
