Being a new boat owner, the people here have been very helpful explaining what they were doing and why it needed to be done. I felt like they were giving the same level of attention to my little sailboat as they give to the massive yachts that seem to be the bulk of their business. Very pleasant people to work with from the guy operating the lift, to the mechanics and office staff.

We have enjoyed storing our boat at this location (Channel Islands Landing) for a couple years but that abruptly stopped today. I was verbally disrespected by the NEW Dockmaster Robert and told to leave the property even though Ive paid through all of May 2021. The way this person conducts themselves is completely unprofessional and does not belong dealing with paying customers.It is unbelievable that someone would act in such a way while conducting business. He gave us NO/Zero reason as to why we would no longer be able to store our boat and instead hung up on me when I called back.Customer beware, they will not treat you with respect nor care about your business.Robert should be ashamed of himself.This is only the beginning, as we plan to file a lawsuit through small claims court, as our vessel was left outside of security, unattended for days. Not to mention weve already paid through May (considered a contract).Find any and all locations to store your vessel, other than at the Channel Islands Landing.

The boatyard is run smoothly and with the utmost respect to the property it is housing. The employees are down to earth people who truely care for the boats and their owners. The property is well groomed and clean. I would have all my boats docked here if i could!

We had a boat pulled out to survey bottom, Pete was fantastic and super helpful. Honest people. Great Service. Definitely would use them again.

I have nothing but positive things to say about Mike and Joe who run the office. They are kind, communicative, and fair. They always kept me up to date with the repairs on my boat and were more than willing to explain any repairs that I needed with my boat. Jody, who worked on the boat, was incredible. The guy knows boats and has a natural mechanical mind. They have a customer for life in me and I 100% recommend this yard for boat repairs!

Ive had the pleasure to work with Mike and the staff from THE BOAT YEAR Channel Island. I can only praise their professionalism. I had my boat delivered to them for mast stepping and launching into the water. Theyve done a phenomenal job in accommodating all my requests - even the special ones ;-). I would do business with them every time again. Additionally, their prices were reasonable.

A lot has changed since all the 5 star reviews were posted. The old doc master was replaced, they raised all of their prices. Oh speaking of Dave, he was nice at first but his real character showed over time, he isnt a good doc master. Take your business elsewhere if you can.

What an unbelievable experience.....from knowledgeable assessment to quality execution. Joe, was a man of his word and followed through all the way. These people told me to my face that my boat weighed over 2,000 lbs. more than it actually does, and their crane cant lift it anymore. So, taking them at their word, I moved the boat to a new harbor at double the monthly cost. Looks like they have some good reviews, but my brother-in-law, an LAPD diver, once told me: Theres only one thing you can be sure of when dealing with a liar.....their gonna lie to ya.

Lifted my boat out of the water for an inspection, held it, then then returned it to the water. Very professional and took a lot of care to make sure everything went right.

I recently hauled out my boat for long overdue bottom paint. After checking with the yards in Ventura and Channel Islands harbor I decided to use Channel Islands Boat Yard after talking with the General Manager, Joe Camello. Joe impressed me with his knowledge and aspiration for doing quality work and having repeat customers. Joe inspected my boat and recommended repairs. He advised me and updated me on the progress. I left the yard with high confidence in the repairs and felt that it was accomplished at a fair and reasonable cost. When I need work done in the future I will contact Joe Camello at Channel Islands Boat Yard.

Brought in my 45 Cabo Express. I normally keep it in San Pedro so there are options up and down the coast. The job was not an easy one. Sea Keeper 6 install, Hydraulic Rupp spreaders. 3D fishfinders and the normal bottom paint and general maintenance. Decided to bring it up to the Boat Yard, easier for the SeaKeeper install and Channel Coast Marine had done work for me before. The experience at the Boat Yard was first class. Joe Comello did a great job coordinating all the work. Not only was the work done well, Joe stepped up and provided straightforward solutions for minor issues. The Boat Yard didnt just do the work, they paid attention to the small stuff and for that I am grateful. Didnt matter if the challenge was big or small, The Boat Yard did a great job of getting it done the right way at a fair price. I know I have options to go North or South. I am like a lot of boaters out there, having worked hard to get a boat to enjoy and take care of. For my money and for the quality of work I want for my boat, The Boat Yard in Channel Islands has my business. Recently I had my 51 ft sailboat hauled out at the boat yard. I was amazed at their new travel lift. It easily hauled my boat out of the water and I did not have to take my radar stand down or remove my backstay.They took my shaft out and inserted new cutless bearings, repaired my maxi-prop, inserted a new PSS dripless shaft kit and found numerous other problems that I was not aware and they fixed them. Brad Hawes their general manager overlooked their very skilled staff to insure that everything was done correctly.
