This is the most helpful hardware store ever! Though it is a small shop, Im far more likely to find what Im looking for here than at a larger store. The staff here know how to fix everything, and theyre happy to share their knowledge (and dog cookies! Doggy loves this place too).

Super in your face staff. Definitely did not feel welcomed or comfortable. They do copy keys though. Hector was super chill and helped me out and the keys work perfectly. Prices were normal. Didnt really get a chance to check out the store because of the staff.

Great hardware store for basic needs. Its on the smaller side so you may not find everything you need, but the staff is super helpful and knowledgeable.

This is not a large store. But every time I visit, I am amazed how many items it contains, and how quickly the staff can locate whatever I came in for.

Best hardware store in the world. The staff always goes above and beyond. One of the staff reopened the store for me when I caught up with them in the near by parking lot 15 min after closing so I could get a plumbing part to fix a leak. The attendant trusted me to come back and pay the following day. I love this store.

Excellent. First class service and very very knowledgeable helpful instruction. We have an old house with old hardware and unusual appliances, and these guys have been golden when I get stuck and need advice or a part that is not commonplace. My faucets are probably 60 to 70 years old and they had a replacement part in stock. Friendly and knowledgeable, I Highly recommended.

The people who work here are genuinely willing to help. I walked in with a project and they immediately sourced all the materials available. I planned on crimping a cable myself, they had a professional grade tool to secure 8 connections for me. My project was complete in under 10 minutes. I dont mind paying a little more for this quality of service and supporting a local business. Thank you!

This is reminiscent of an old-time hardware store. They stock a wide variety of items; I can usually find whatever Im looking for. If Im not certain of my need, I can simply explain my problem to one of the staff; they will explain the remedy to me, show me what I need, and, if necessary, explain how to use use/install it. If all I need is one screw of a particular size and thread, they have it in stock, and I can buy just one. Great place.

One, can feel very at home, at a hardware store. There is a comfort andsense of order and commitment about the merchandize. After all, manya beautiful building/home, starts out with a visit to a hardware store.At any rate, I get great pleasure from wandering around them and eventhough, I am just a woman trying to keep up with a broken chair leg or,dripping faucet, I find I can rely on hardward stores for my simple re-pairneeds.This bring me to Ace Hardware Store on Forrest Ave. It is a great store-nice wide aisles, great and update merchandize and most of all, a caringand customer friendly staff. I want to especially mention one employeewho is fairly new,f in particular. Her name is Missy. Missy, is cheerful,helpful and patient. A store can be really well set out and have everythinga customer needs but, at the end of the day, staff is the soul of it all.I want to give my thanks to Missy, and all the other employeesat this store, for being as nice as they are. Dealing day in, and day out,is not an easy job and, they do it very well and with kindness andefficiency.

Ive been shopping at this hardware store for years. They seem to have everything, plus good neighborly customer service. Recently, I needed a 44 cent cotter pin for my button machine and two store assistants spend 15 minutes clipping it on for me. You cant get service like that. Thanks guys! Ill be back.

Simply the best service and help of any place you can buy hardware. Needed two screws to fix my jigsaw. Found and fitted, then bought all the other stuff to finish my job.

I love Pacific Grove Hardware! They handled all of the needs for the Pacific Grove Art Center when I was the director there, and my husband John and I buy all of our hardware items at this wonderful, locally owned store. While the big box stores just tell people that they dont carry something or direct them to a website, when I called PG Hardware I was invited to come into the store so they could help me order an item. Their staff member spent a good 15 minutes on the computer showing me portable electric baseboard heating units that were in stock at their warehouse. He explained some of the different features to me and helped me decide which one to order. I was amazed when he said that the item would be available for pick-up in the store in only two days! This store offers the best, most friendly, personal service Ive ever seen anywhere. I highly recommend it!

A wonderful employee pulled out his tools and fixed it for me - for free - and I cannot tell you how much that meant to me - especially on that day and at that time. Ive always received the best of service--each and every time.Well, I have to add: the frustrating, disorganized and in the end, truly distasteful manner in which the staff addressed an on-going problem left so much to be desired that I took my concerns to the manufacturer, themselves. The manufacturer in stark contrast to a month of PG Hardware visits, (resulting in our purchasing product that could neither be used nor returned), offered to provide a new filtration system well beyond the fittings and filters that I had been battling.I am a huge supporter of local businesses and am so terribly disheartened with my experience at PG Hardware. Please know this was a mix of good service blended with some truly poor service. This experience reminds one that while we so love to develop those small town relationships, where we send both local and out-of-town guests to our local businesses to keep them thriving; it is a two-way street, is it not? These small businesses cannot expect us to be loyal if we will not be guaranteed at least the same level of expertise, hereto, the same return policies as their larger competitors.I take my responsibility seriously in a small town, I shop at my local markets, vendors, specialty shops; I buy my groceries, specialties, gifts and food at the local markets as often as I am able; and yet, I was resolved after yesterdays phone call with PG Hardware to never do business with them again, cancelling plans to purchase a more expensive under-the-counter filtration system and buy it for less at one of their competitors.I have to say, after the phone call with PG Hardware yesterday, I was concerned the meaning of small town hardware store was lost to these gentlemen or the larger company. It was a month filled with the crazy run-around of supposed expertise across the board. In spite of all of that, I still wanted to call the manufacturer today and I am so glad there remained that one last fiber commitment that there might be someone, anyone out there with a sense of decency left, who would step up and help resolve this issue..I am thrilled and happy to report a company called Instapure still has a heart. I received truly great Customer Service each time I called. I received what they promised when they promised it and they listen, truly listen...to you! In fact, through truly listening, we discovered misinformation and a lack of expertise that misled much of our search for parts and they chose to resolve the issue by shipping out a brand new filtration system.I may end up back at PG Hardware some day, but it may take a while to rekindle faith in their small town abilities again.
