I loved the the old owner, RIP. But new one did a great job with updating the store! Everything you need for Bay Area fishing. Prices are fair and he has live bait!
Their hours posted here on Google say they are open on tuesday. The hours posted on their door say they are not. I just drove an hour to figure that out. Maybe there is some cool stuff inside I wouldnt know.

New and improved! The new owners Mark and Sue that took over Marque(r.i.p.) revamped the store and outfitted with some new gear with more on the way! Same great prices and same great service! The main reason why Ive been shopping at this local mom and pop store for over 20 years!

This bait shop been here since I was a kid. They are very helpful and very nice. I was very surprise that they are still open all these years. I was 14 when I first went fishing and we been buying our bait there when we fish at the pier. I havent fish for over 30 years and I am very surprise that that shop still open. Its a good place to buy your fishing baits and gears. RIP to the owner who just passed away last week!!!!

Permanently closed when I stopped by today. There was a post on the door stating that after the owner passed away and the brother, which is the current owner is having health problems, they are closing shop. It read, the business and inventory is for sale.
I picked up some bait and a sand crab net. This is a great place its in a great location. You should definitely stop by here before you go fishing

Solid prices and good quality products. The space is pretty small but theyll have everything that youre looking for at a really reasonable price considering that theyre a brick and mortar. The cons are that they often dont stick to their hours and can just leave if they have an errand to run, but theyll make up for it through solid advice with no intention to upsell you if you dont need a certain product. Ive purchased swimbaits, weights, and a snare here and theyve all been solid. In fact the Danielson snare I bought online lasted less time than the homemade snares they sell here.
Great shop. Superb salt water tackle and crabbing gear. Some fresh water tackle too. Frozen and live bait. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Great for surfcasters, pier fishing, open water, etc.

I returned to Coastside #2 after being away from fishing for 14 years. Vasco was long gone but the new owner, Marque (pronounced, Mark) was a worthy replacement. He was friendlier than I remember Vasco and just as helpful if not more so. He replaced a tip on a trout rod which had simply shed it during a cast. He was careful to find a suitable replacement, did good work and the price was less than a round at Starbucks. I was happy to know he is keeping this operation alive.Of course, being that close to the pier made we want to retry my hand at catching saltwater fish. Ill be back to have Marque load my surf reel with new line soon.I only gave four stars because he did well on a simple task. I will be giving him my business and suspect hell quickly earn that 5th star.

Great bait and tackle. Doesnt overcharge for squid or anchovies. Has the selections you need for plugging for stripers in the surf, or if you want to crab and fish from the pier. Great service with a smile and willing to give you a discount if cash is slim. Full range of gear from high end team Daiwa rods, to economy value crab sticks. Tight lines yall!
The only full stocked tackle store in the bay area---the owner Mike is a great guy--every thing you need is in this store!
