This kind of bread is only available at Butera fruit market. I noticed multiple times and the breads were rotten. You can see the pictures below. Customers should be careful.Also, the meat items are mostly expired and stinky. We had a bad experience bringing chicken before.

It was my first time that material and I must say the quality of the seafood was great the catfish and the luncheon meats was a good deal. Overall I liked it

Butera on Rand Road and Hix Road is a very clean grocery store the people that work there are friendly and willing to answer questions and the food is very fresh good assortment of vegetables

The meats does not look fresh, dark or grey in color. Bought 2 pounds if lean ground beef which appeared to be fresh but was old and dried in the center when I opened the package at home.

Sad, 1st, had no idea from the add that the Whole Beef Tenderloin was frozen. With another customer, we ask if it could be cut in 1/2...told price would be $9.00 per lbs.2nd, at deli, number was 88, I had 96, took 21min for me to be served...reason, no one was behind the counter...person before me ask 3 associate for help.... knowing he was ignored and I told her if you spoke Spanish you probably would have gotten an answer.Cashier, she gets 100% regarding customer service.....she never talk.Sorry, guess I need to speak Spanish.

We go all the way to Butera even though we moved out of Palatine. It has the best prices for produce around and always has great deals. Most of the employees are very friendly and willing to help. I look forward to my weekly trip:)

Prices on poultry were great. They had a pretty big liquor section.... and lots of different things from other countries. Love going to this store!

They have a wonderful selection of produce including a decent variety of cultural foods. Its a great place to check if your making an adventurous meal and cant find that specific ingredient.

We bought a bag of Kings Hawaiian Roll, and our kids noticed mold to have a snack after school. I returned to store for exchange, and came into another bag of bread with mold. I realize theres no expiration date anywhere. I tried to inform the manager that some change should be made to ensure food safety, at least put expiration date on the package. Heres her response, Ive been doing this for 15 years. Its just mold, though its better not to have it. Well, you have your way to manager your store, I have way to choose the right store.

Nice improvements under new ownership. If its been a while since youre last visit - give them a try. Theyre working hard to make this store top notch.

Food quality ok. Some of the staff act like its torture to work there. I have bought items there that has been expired and Ive had to return them. Lots of time you have to watch your items when they are being scanned by the cashier as you will find errors in the prices posted vs. scanned with no apologies. The cashiers just hands you youre receipt without a thank you or have a good day.

Joe Caputos in Palatine was my favorite supermarket, and Butera has done a good job since they acquired Caputos. But a recent bad experience earns them this low rating. A young worker was not wearing his mask properly and walked right past me in the store. He ignored my reminder and was at the exit when I was leaving. When I lost my patience and reminded him again he flipped me off. I do not intend to shop at Butera again for the duration of the pandemic, and possibly longer.

Best place for fruit, vegetables and exotic foods.

Mostly the times there fruit are not good 🍓🍎🥑🍄🧅🍅they need to put more attention to there products and produce other than that great deals

An interesting designed food market, with cheap produce and a little bit of everything you need to cook a dinner. Their departments are small, but you can find everything, from butchery to bakery and pastry. The only minus i found is that produce could be fresher, though prices are coresponding to produces quality.

Great Italian mkt with things u cant find anywhere else. But squash bought recently totally rotten. Apples cheaper/big selection. Only place I can buy packaged meat of beef plus sep ground pork..about $5..makes 2 big meatloafs.

Used to be joe Caputo. The service and selection was superior. The deli counter people have no clue and dont care attitude.They piled prosciutto on top of each other, couldnt separate the slices.He cut me a piece of cheese that was the end and dry and puts it on scale without any sort of sheet, it was contaminated, got home and it was dirty from some red sauce, disgusting.And the mortodela, I bit into it and it had the plastic wrapper in mouth that he never took off!!!I should sue this place.The old awesome selection of cheese is cut down, the old awesome selection of deli is also cut down.Too bad, used to love going to this place but new owners are breaking it apart.Time to look for a better location.

I like this stores selection, prices and convenience to home. But the young cashiers need to learn some customer service skills. When you and supervisor take 10 minutes to figure out some coupon glitch, you great the next customer with sorry about that wait not how are you. And BTW when u see that bottle of wine coming u call for someone. Not when its the last item in the order.

There is plenty of choice-meat, vegetables and fruits, fish, salads, European food, too,beer, wine,flowers for special occasions. I find everything I need there. Nice and friendly staff.

It was my first time there having driven by so many times on the way somewhere else. I went in for dandelion greens for a clients pet. The store is very clean, organized, labeled clearly, fresh produce, pleasant workers, and well priced. Ill remember to stop in next time!

There are some products that are expired. I proceeded to contact the manager. She had a rude disposition. Check the dates on closed goods. And, who knows, maybe ask about how old the produce is too... despicable.

Excellent selection of fresh fruits and vegetables, particularly Michigan apples. The pickle options are varied and delicious (look in the international foods aisle, the epic pickles are separate from the basic pickles found with the condiments). Solid bakery, fresh French and Italian bread every day. I tend to go elsewhere for most meats and cheeses, but the bacon is top notch!

This is an average grocery store. They have a great selection of produce that is very reasonably priced, just know that it is not going to last long in the refrigerator. If you can use it in 3-4 days, then you cant beat the price.Outside of produce their prices are usually above average. I typically go here for fresh produce, meats, eggs, and dairy. Outside of that I prefer Jewel or Walmart.

We have also had multiple occurrences of getting home to find expired dates on packages. I get checking dates on fresh or dairy items but only shop here if you want to check the date on every single item you put in your cart. I am guessing this store won’t be around for much longer.

Terrible checkout lines, 6 to 8 deep, with only two checkers. Seems every time we come here some thing. Unacceptable.

I come here very often and I love it. They have everything I need and more. The prices are great and the staff keep the place very clean. I recommend this place to buy produce, snacks, yogurt, and meat.

Just moved into the area and we were excited about this store. We liked the prices, the selection and the convenience, but unfortunately this immediately changed as we noticed one HUGE issue with quality control. Youd usually buy at the store expecting items to have a good shelf life but as soon as I got home we noticed a box of rice crispy treats were expired since Jan 2018.This product is for my kids and you are telling me that the product quality hasnt been inspected in almost 3 - 4 months? Im not returning the product because is not worth the time and money but this left us skeptical about the rest of the products sold at this store.Not going back for sure and taking my business to another store that knows how to deal with this.

I did my regular shopping here yesterday and today I opened a brand-new cream cheese from their store brand and it had mold on top. Totally spoiled and the expiration date isn’t until June. Won’t be back!

New name, same store. Still a good seasonal selection of produce. Im usually here for the variety of produce and pricing. Occasionally, the bakery is doable as well, but stick with the fresh stuff. Mix of ethnic goods which I like to try sometimes.

Its the closest to me and has most things i came to need. I think Ive only had to find it elsewhere 3 times in 2 years. But you will find expired goods on the shelves periodically. Customer service is not great but not too bad either. If you make a point to smile at any of the employees most will at least smile back. But that is the only way youll see one directed towards customers. Otherwise, its relatively clean and useful.

The place is clean. Thats the only thing they have going on, in my opinion. There isnt a great variety of good quality produce, most of the items are old and dry. The meat is the worst! To my fortune or misfortune Im a USDA beef all the way gal but everything here is Us govt inspected and that wouldnt be so bad if the meat wasnt a funky gray green color. All in all Butera is just not for me.

Aisle fill of food and with all the leading food brands. Fresh vegetables always up there for you. All I liked there is whole lot of Asian foods and now it an alternate of Patels for me. You get Indian Dals and related stuff there. I can say its multicultural grocery store. And you cant resist the Bakery section there I love that section. I saw good options of non Vegetarian foods and marinated items.

Store was very clean and we didnt have to wait in line to check out.
