Mister John Hamilton is very professional, efficient and competent. He did a pre purchase on a sailboat I wanted to buy has if it was his. I was outside the country when he surveyed the sailboat so he was my eyes and my ears. He took more than five hundred pictures of most parts of the sailboat and I saw a lot off things that I didn’t see myself, with a buyer perspective. Several people, even a competitor recommended John and I do the same.

John was great. He did the survey in just around 24 hours from the time I called him. Report to follow was also timely, and extremely thorough. John recently performed a small boat pre-purchase survey on a 26 Regulator FS. I was actually a little embarrassed for the seller because John went into places the owner didnt even know existed. He took about 1000 pictures, poked and prodded for a couple of hours...that was while the boat was on the trailer, he had even more in store during the sea trial. If you need a thorough inspection and honest answers about the boat your looking to buy, look no further. I ended up buying the boat after a 3 year search and John helped me feel good about my decision. Did I mention he is very thorough. I wont ever buy another boat without Johns approval.

Great service, expedited reports, hard to diagnose faulty equipment, etc are that you will receive. Nothing gets past these surveyors.John and his engine guru found about 30 deficit items on a 2017 boat that was be marketed as being in good condition. I am notfamiliar with outboard propulsion so their expertise was extremely valuable.

His survey was detailed with over 700 pictures and he created a punch list that was very helpful in final negotiations for the MagBay. Stu Hamilton surveyed my 60’ Hatteras for a buyer. . He went out of his way to make me, the seller feel comfortable and would be honest and fare. (I own B:North Yacht Sales and know many surveyors feel they must just please the buyer). This company is a joke. They inspected a vessel for us and missed a number of things wrong with the boat. Very arrogant and upon further investigation represented they were part of the Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors and come to find out they were thrown out and not I can see why. Buyer Beware!!!!!

John Hamilton did an excellent and VERY comprehensive survey for our 32 foot power cat. He was very easy to work with and had great recommendations as well. There were a few coordination issues with the yard but he worked with the team and was never flustered by the required changes to the schedules throughout. I would not hesitate to recommend him. I was a little apprehensive about hiring a marine surveyor for a 21 Scout with a trailer. After talking to several surveyors (and anyone else who had an opinion), I hired John Hamilton, mainly to be on the safe-side of buying a previously-owned boat. Thanks the heavens I did !!! John identified that significant repairs were needed to the engine drive shaft and lower unit (and the prop needed replacing) as it looked like the prop had been run aground. The dealer agreed to replace those parts at no charge, saving me several thousands of dollars. An Immediate return for hiring John. The engine had extensive hours on it and John checked all the computer codes and the compression of each chamber which gave me the satisfaction that the engine was going to last several more years (if properly maintained). John also did a great job taking pictures (I think I have more than 500 pics) of the boat and making sure all imperfections, repairable or not, were identified. I simply wanted to know what I was buying, the good, the bad and the ugly. He also performed a sea test and gave me a great review of the boat I was buying. I would highly recommend John and also, highly recommend getting a marine boat survey. Buying some elses problem is never a good idea !

John provided me with a timely walkthrough of a vessel I am interested in. He took roughly 1500 pictures and did a video walkthrough and uploaded all to me in South Africa in the same day. I was able to call him and he answered questions concerning the vessel and anything the photos and video revealed. My wife and I agree that we both feel as if we have been on the boat. John examined all systems and worked with the engine surveyor, Billy, during the sea trial to make sure the engines reached the rated rpm and knots for this vessel. Under a time crunch for closing, John pushed our survey working through the night. I received it at 0245 in time to meet all of the administrative constraints when being through brokers. Thanks for your help, John and for your extra work pushing it through.I also want to mention that until just before the survey, my wife and I had never set foot not the boat. The video and pictures John previously sent us left us feeling as if we had. There were no surprises; we found the boat exactly as described by John. I recently bought a small boat from southern Florida, about 600 miles from my home. John Hamilton was of great assistance in this process by surveying the boat (inspection and on-the-water trail run) in my absence. His report included, among other items, a list of issues that may have needed attention prior to purchase. He provided the seller the same list, and all were fixed by the seller or the seller and I otherwise agreed to a course of action prior to the transaction. John was very helpful and provided support to me after the initial survey; he is very easy to work with and very knowledgeable.

I had John survey my 45 foot Motor yacht he did so in a timely manner. He definitely has a working knowledge of both construction as well as operating systems. Stu not only took his time and checked each and everything on the vessel, he even checked the toaster oven that was on the counter. He walks you through what he find and explains it in plain English. His after survey reports were easy to read and straight to the point. Even after the purchase Stu has contacted me to see if everything was OK and if you do need anything done he knows the right people to call. If you need a marine survey hes the man to call.

Selected a 30ft center console in the West Palm Beach area but was too far away (and not knowledgeable enough) to fully assess any potential issues and make sure I’m not ending up with a lemon. I got in touch with John Hamilton and, of course, I was in a hurry to make a decision before Christmas. John was extremely responsive and within a few days he was at the boat. He made an extremely thorough survey and did a test drive. Not the smallest imperfection escaped him. He sent me around 500 pictures and a video of the sea trial. We spent an hour on the phone when he did a “virtual” walk through and pointed everything out to me including his experts recommendation on how to address. There is no way I would have been able to have created the resulting issue list myself, which the owner is completely addressing before I am taking over the boat. John’s survey gave me a reassurance which I would never have been able to get myself. I highly recommend John Hamilton if you are ever in a similar situation of buying a used boat!

John provided a pre-purchase survey for a used boat. He was accommodating with my schedule needs to allow me to be present for some of the survey and sea trial. Good attention to detail and honest feedback to set realistic expectations due to boat make, model and age. John provided plenty of photos of items of interest and would have provided a video of the sea trial if I was unable to be present. He provided a punch list of recommended maintenance and repair items that was useful during purchase negotiations. Aside from his technical competence, his personality and demeanor was friendly and professional and he worked well with the selling broker and their mechanic.

Evaluating a boat for purchase, I recently traveled from New Hampshire to Florida to view, survey and inspect a vessel. John Hammilton did an excellent and very thorough job on the hull and accessory survey inspections. Ok, so this is my second google review...ever. I felt obligated. Hamilton and Hamilton was Fast, professional and to the point. They have nothing to gain by filling your ear with fluff. They gave me an honest survey of a boat, i went to the dealer with it, told the dealer what was wrong with the boat and the dealership called me back to let me know the employee that had posted the boat had been reprimanded because the boat was in such poor condition. WILL ABSOLUTELY USE AGAIN!
