Ive been smoking cigars for 6 years. Ive visited shops in Tampa and most of the cigar shops in North Pinellas, yet MJM managed to slip by unnoticed before today.Simply put: what a wonderful shop. I probably spent 45 minutes conversing with the owner, discussing cigars, the industry, bourbon, St Augustine grass and more while waiting for the rain to subside.Michael is friendly and ridiculously knowledgeable. More though, he uses that knowledge to stock his shelves with what I feel is the best selection of cigars in Tampa Bay. Michael knows its quality, not quantity that counts, yet instead of focusing on $30 Davidoffs or limited run blends, hes established a wall of the best bang-for-your-buck cigars that are readily available: LFD, My Father, Padron, Aganorsa, Illusione, Tatuaje and hundreds more. It really is the best blend of established brands and smaller boutique outfits.Im a fairly knowledgeable smoker, but I found (and purchased) cigars Id never seen before, and theyre smoking like a dream with flavors and construction on par with some of my favorites, and theyre cheaper than what Im usually buying.If youre looking for cigar suggestions or simply a quiet place to smoke a good cigar, be sure to stop by MJM in the Outback restaurant shopping center on 19. This is my go to cigar store, Ive been shopping with Mike for years, purveying the finest cigars this side of habana. He has a great selection of standard great cigars and a amazing selection of the newest and best boutique brand cigars out on the market. The other great thing is he has a good selection of pipe tobacco, pipe products and various aged/rare tins of pipe tobacco. MJM Fine Cigars will treat you right, and will not try to up sell like a lot of the cigar shops do. If you tell him what you like and the price range you want to stick to, he has a cigar for you. WWAAAYYYY better than cigar cave in tarpon. Its a quiet shop with great selection, fair prices, and an awesome owner who cares about his customers. He keeps the humidity at correct levels so everything is good quality, unlike the cave in tarpon where most of the time I get sticks that burn unevenly and dont stay lit well.

I stopped going here 8 years ago because I stopped smoking my pipes. But I picked them up again yesterday, and Ill be at MJM tomorrow as they are by far the best tobacco store in the bay area.
