My fridge got fried during a power surge into our house. My normal repair guy was backed up so Roel got recommended to me by another Appliance repair company after calling around. Paid him over 1200$ and still no working fridge. Initially he said it was a fuse. He replaced the fuse, then it died again. He said we needed a new compressor (695$ for the compressor, 400$ for labor; dont forget the 90$ service call). Then that compressor blew. He said we could try replacing the circuit board and order a new compressor. Obviously I wasnt about to spend another 1200$+ on a fix that might not work. I get that fridges of today are much more complicated than our grandparents lead lined fridges, but if youre going to ask your customers to spend 1200$ on a repair, then you better have the diagnostic competency to know if you can actually fix it or not. Seemed like he was flying blind and just trying random fixes and hoping for the best. 1200$ down the drain, fridge still dead, had to buy a brand new one from Lowes. He was professional and on time, but I would trade in those qualities and take a grumpy late guy for a working fridge after spending that much money.

Roel was extremely friendly and professional. He showed up on time and was able to fix our dryer quickly. He diagnosed the problem and had all the replacement parts already in his van. Definitely 2 thumbs up and I would recommend to anyone looking for help with a broken appliance 👍👍

Contacted them on a Sunday needing a part to fix my washer. Not only did he answer the phone but went out of his way to meet me at a park and ride to get the part to me. Very timely and Im so appreciative he even answered the phone on a Sunday. Will use again for parts needs.

I did my own research after I had scheduled an appointment for the guy to come look at my fridge. After about 2 mins he agreed with my conclusion on what the problem was and then charged me 90 dollars for him coming out here. 🤨😐

Roel has fast friendly service and hes wonderful at his job! I would however ASK about the price of your part before installation. I found the part I needed on different websites almost $150 cheaper than what I was charged. That does not diminish the work they do, but its certainly good to get your own parts and then call for installation! My dryer costed $600 at the time of purchase and $400 to fix.

Very happy with the service I received from Alaskan Appliance Repair. Called a national company for service. They kept me on the phone for 10-20 minutes before finally informing me that they no longer provided service in my area. Next called a large Alaskan company. Told me the latest appointment I could schedule it was 1 in the afternoon. That would be a 1/2 day off work for me. Finally found Alaskan Appliance Repair. Owner Roel seemed ready to work very hard to accommodate my schedule, even willing to work weekends if he needed to in order to accommodate me. He showed up right at four and gave me a price that seemed very reasonable for both the service and the labor required to make the repair. If I need appliance repair of any kind in the future, theres no doubt for me who Ill call first.

Awful experience. Charges up front for part and labor for fridge plus a $90 house call. $730.95 total. Never got the part or for them to fix it. Never called us to update about anything. They do not return their phone calls. They lady the answers the phone is a joke and the repair guy is a swindler. They always had an excuse. When we finally asked for a refund, over a month later, the part was all of a sudden available. We said nevermind and to please refund everything but the $90 house call. They didnt. They made up some excuse how there were labor charges for the house call! He didnt do anything but look in the fridge and wipe out a drain plug. Do NOT use this business. I am taking this business to small claims court to collect my money. Thats how ridiculous this is! I hope they had fun with my money because I lose a lot of money to take off work for the day to go to small claims court. I will also be asking for missed wages for my time that Ill have to spend begging a judge to give my money back. These people are scammers. BEWARE!!!!!

Similar experience to the other 1 star reviewers. Came and said my dryer needs a control board. He has never contacted me after 3 weeks, but had lied twice to Sears. First time he said he’d already been here twice and it was fixed. Second time he said he now has the part.

Nice enough guy but he comes to the house with a briefcase full of test equipment and uses none of it. Runs a quick diagnosis via the control panel, looks at the back of the control center. Sees a little discoloration on the ignitor board and says thats it. Wants to spend $250.00 on the part and way too much to install it. I checked online and found a website that said the part he wanted to replace was one of the most misdiagnosed so I called another repair company to look at it. This guy shows up with a briefcase full of test equipment and actually tests things. Finds an open circuit on the gas valve. Runs a few more tests to confirm it and Wala. $150.00 dollars later, my oven works again. I paid $90.00 for the bogus first diagnosis and $110.00 for the second. I installed the gas valve myself since it was quite easy but Id like to mention the second repairman, even though he did make the proper diagnosis, he wanted to charge $100.00 in labor to replace the valve it took me 10 minutes to replace. In the end it would almost have been less expensive to replace the range.

I had an experience similar to Cheryl Parks review. Although the service was timely and friendly, he arrived with his briefcase and did not open it. He called someone on the phone, decided the brain or computer center of my 18 month old $3500 range was faulty and ordered the part. Two weeks later, the part was put in and fixed nothing as it was actually the ignition switch that had failed. The new after-market switch that was installed then, worked for a total of 3 minutes before it, too, failed. I called a second company and he brought the proper part and said the other switch was rigged so poorly we could have had a gas explosion. He also said that identifying this problem with my oven should have been a no-brainer, that one would not normally just replace the computer module. Since I have a Lowes warranty, I suspect Ive been victimized as it was all charged for on the account even though is was a misdiagnosis and faulty part. I would never use this company again.
