Small is an understatement. Those that say they go there for cleaning supplies or ammunition must only want one item, they dont have but 3 items to choose from. Guy at the front counter seemed to preoccupied to give me any attention, I tried engaging in conversation several times to no avail even after expressing a need to get my son a hunting rifle. Then I tried engaging him in a new stock for my hunting rifle, all with sub par success. I dont know how they stay in business.

Great people at this store! They have alot of unusual historical pieces in the shop which are fun to look at. They are very knowledgeable about everything and their prices are reasonable. They are especially good for women buyers. Will explain everything you need to know. I went to the other Parker gun store. What a joke! They are rude and the testosterone is so high that it is more like a club atmosphere rather than a store open to the public. I bought my handgun and ammo from Pony Express and will only go to them in the future.

Ive lived in Parker for a while now and have never been in here. Stopped in on Monday and was blown away by the amount of cool military antiques they have! They also have modern guns but thats not really my thing so I didnt look too hard. Very interesting place with friendly service and definitely will be back!

Stopped in when I was visiting relatives who live in Parker. This place is like a museum except everything is for sale! I bought an artillery shell that will look great in my man cave. I couldnt take it on the plane so they arranged to ship it for me. Awesome place wish it was closer to me!

I have bought and ordered multiple guns here and have not had a single bad experience. The customer service is great and the prices are the best I have found in the metro area. If they dont have it in stock they will get it for you in a timely manner. Great collection of historical artifacts for sale as well. I will definitely be a repeat customer and refer others.

I came in with my coworker to do a private party transfer. This place is awesome, they were writing a blog post about some really cool blunderbuss that was over 200 years old while we were there, so we got to see it up close and ask questions. They buy and sell a ton of antique and collectible items and some of the things they have are downright amazing. Our transfer was done in about 5 minutes but we stayed around just to check out all the neat grenades and uniforms.

I was in the market for a 9mm compact that was not snippy and after shooting a few compact I found the one I was very comfortable with. My fiancee and I went to 5 store and non of them had the gun I wanted before we started to drive to Colorado Springs to find the gun we stopped in Pony Express Firearms and Miles was super welcoming right off the bat and then when he asked what we were looking for he had the gun i wanted. We chatted with him for a little bit and he seems very very knowledgeable and he is very friendly. Wonderful pricing!!! I will always go to Pony Express Firearms for my next guns before shopping anywhere else!

All in all good prices, inventory and, atmosphere. I love checking out local mom and pop joints, never know what youll find. I had a fantastic time browsing and shopping with the Pony Express crew. Purchased a .40 S&W Browning Hi-Power for $900 and some change after transfer! These guys were just pushy enough for my liking. Its a business and I DO expect them to want to make money, so asking about ammo, mags, etc. should be a given. I plan on spending much more time and money at this place in the future. Nice selection of surplus and modern firearms, little something for everyone.

Its a nice small place thats got a good deal on ammunition. I like some of the guns they have for sale and the guys are pretty honest and friendly. They have a small selection and it looks like theyre starting out, but I like this place and Ill definitely visit again!

I brought in 3 of my husbands guns (I am a widow). One is a shotgun from the 1880s so I was worried about how to keep them in good shape to hand down to my kids. The owner was able to tell me everything about the guns including their approximate worth, not that I would ever sell them. The gunsmith there cleaned them all up very nicely and let me know how to store them so they would stay in good shape for a long time to come. I was also very impressed with the store itself, they have an old cannon, a lot of old military antiques, and some really neat propaganda posters. Nice to see the younger generations appreciating such things.

They were extremely patient with me and answered all the questions I had in regards to the firearm. I came in about 10 minutes before closing and I was asking a lot of questions about pistols and rifles and they took the time to answer all of my questions. I ended up leaving the store with a phenomenal AR 15 and Im very happy with my choice due to all the answers I received from them. I have shopped at many firearm stores and I would highly recommend this store to anybody that is looking to purchase any type of firearm or more ammo. they had phenomenal service and they stayed late to ensure that I was happy with my choice. I have been in my share of gun shops, and they all usually have about the same items. However, Pony Express was by far one of the nicer shops I have visited. The staff took time to let me browse before asking if I had any questions, i didnt feel rushed in the slightest. Nor did they badger me until I made a purchase. I was comfortably able to purchase a few items and if I wasnt from another state, I would regularly give them my business. As a collector of surplus firearms and antique war relics, I would gladly recommend Pony Express to any collector in the Parker and Denver area. The two gentlemen who were working were extremely polite and knew what they were talking about. Shop owner was confident in his statements and want as far as to personally back the items he sold me. I couldnt recommend this store more.

I have been to multiple gun stores here in Colorado. I can honestly say that Ive never visited a firearms shop as irritating, rude and as careless as this one. I have walked into this store on a slow day, and on a busy day. Honestly I can say I have never left this place satisfied. Ive purchased two shotguns from this place. The first shotgun was a simple pump-action that I wanted because of its ambidextrous ability, and about a week later the chamber seized up. I managed to fix it, and decided to go against my instinct and buy another shotgun. due to my being ill informed, they sold me another shotgun for $300 over its retail price. I decided to give them one final chance, so I walked in to check out the guns again. The gentleman in there as usual had a rude attitude, and I wanted to get an older gun this time. He wouldnt even let me handle the firearm that I wanted to buy! I can honestly name multiple gun stores that would be better to spend your money at. Dont waste your time, or money here.

If I were to open a gun shop, it would be just like Pony Express. Miles is a student of history and it shows with his offerings. Not a black rifle store although modern firearms are sold here, its more of a collectors gun shop.Be sure to wear comfy shoes cause you might wind up staying for a while!The only reason I didnt give Pony Express Firearms 5 stars is because I wish the place was ten times bigger!

Was referred to Pony Express by a friend, very happy I took his advice. I wanted a G43 for my wife, Miles had it in stock. With background check total time in and out was less than 30 minutes. Miles really knows his stuff so give this company a try, I dont think youll be disappointed. Great prices, too.

I just turned 18 and wanted to buy myself myfirst rifle. When I walked in I was greeted and offered assistance with anything I needed. I asked to look at a couple rifles and when I chose the one I wanted the gentlemen working there gave me the paperwork to fill out and took my id for the background check. When everything was in order and I was clear to purchase the rifle, he rang me up and I was on my way very satisfied.

I purchased an M1 Garand from this store today. The entire staff was eager to explain functions and lubrication of the weapon as well as proper ammo types. I returned later with a bolt that had disconnected from the track and was assisted and taught how to reconnect it for future reference. This is a fantastic place to purchase a firearm.

Let me start out by saying that we used Pony Express Firearms because my wife and I enjoy supporting small businesses. This was hands down the worst experience I have ever had with a firearms company. They do not back their products even if they sell something that is broken from the beginning. I purchased a gun for $1400 from them. The guy behind the counter told me it had been refurbished and it was functional. I went to the range to realize that it would not eject the case after each bullet. I brought it back in and the guy told me to buy some ammo that is less charged and try it again. Still, we had the same exact problem.We brought it back and told them that it was still not functioning. He said sometimes people buy guns there for 7k or 8k and they dont work either. Well, the fact that he thinks that is a comfort is shocking. He went on to clarify that it was refurbished in the 1950s, which he did not disclose at the time of purchase. He apologized and gladly offered to take another $100 to fix it. We told him that he sold us a malfunctioning product and we thought he needed to make it right. He refused to. I guess I made the false assumption that small businesses offered a higher quality of care to their clients. Long story short, we will no longer buy from small businesses. We will now use the big stores that back their products.

This is my go to place for ammo and gun cleaning needs. I havent needed a new gun for quite a while but when I check their prices theyre the best around. Its also like a museum so its really fun to browse around and check out what new stuff they always have.

Ive purchased through this store several times, always lower prices on new guns than the big box stores and very helpful to new owners. They have a museums worth of older items there, from shells to propaganda posters, fascinating to look through. And there isnt a more extensive collection of obscure ammo for sale in the state for older guns. Other stores in the area havent even heard of it? This place will have it or can get it. Great guys!

I considered buying a rifle they had in stock, but after experiencing the rude and condescending attitude of the gentleman(I assume it was the owner) behind the counter, I opted to take my money elsewhere. After long contemplation and deciding to buy my first personal firearm, I made a trip to Pony Express because it was close, and a small shop versus a huge company (ie Cabelas, Wally world etc). I was so glad that I did. Jim took care of me and answered all my questions with patience and unbiased knowledge. This was my first gun and I kinda knew what I wanted but was open to other suggestions. He made some thoughtful recommendations and during the entire time, he made me feel important and not condescending or just trying to push the sale. He got me into exactly what I was looking for and not only sold me the handgun, he also explained how to clean, good ranges and sold me ammo and accessories for a great price. I was extremely impressed with this shop and Jim and I will definitely make this my go to place for G & A.

Under new management but still cant open on time. This store has always had such potential if they could just find professional folks to hire, maintained posted hours, and asked fair market prices.Well I was finally able to come by when they were actually open during their business hours. Looked around and still have some good variety of used guns but asking standard Parker prices for those items.Asked about the brick of 22LR they had in stock which was Remington Thunderbolt (some of the cheapest ammo for a 22 available) and he told me it was $80.00 for a brick of 500!!! These fine folks are part of the problem shooters are facing. Not there to help at all. Good news is that it looks like not many of us shooters are that dumb as they had a few bricks in stock. It made me happy that he still had that stuff sitting there. It means that local shooters havent become desperate enough to let him screw us all.

I will never go to any other gun store! I needed a very expensive, very specific hunting rifle for my husband for Christmas, but no one had one and not one store would order one for me....except this store. Miles, Jim, and the young girl who works there (I didnt get her name) all helped me through the process, got the rifle ordered, and went above and beyond to get it to me before Christmas, even though UPS was backed up for days. My husband was thrilled beyond belief because he was convinced no one locally could track the gun down. This place really cares about their customers, they were chatting and joking with me during the background check wait - they even helped me load it into my car! :)

These people are great to work with, friendly and very knowledgeable. I purchased a firearm where it was available on line and they performed the background check and transfer in about an hour while I ran other errands. I highly recommend Miles and his staff, and will definitely purchase future items here.

Not sure how this store has almost a five star review. I called to see if they had a specific ammunition in stock and was hung up on as if i did not matter. On another note i have purchased a gun from this shop and had only slightly better service because I spent over 500 dollars. I will NOT come back due to the poor quality of service.

They were easy to work through, eager to help, and completed all necessary paperwork for the legal transfer to take place. The process took about 10 minutes. I had a gun transferred through this shop and it was easy and fast. There wasnt any unnecessary waiting around and everything seemed efficient. Theyve got a pretty fair selection of guns and they told me they can special order most anything. I didnt have to pester them to get their FFL sent to the other dealer, one phone call and it was done. Their gunsmith even took the time to show me how to break down the gun I had transferred in. Definitely a place I plan to frequent in the future.

I hit the gentleman at the wrong day because he was rude and didnt care that he was rude. The woman that works there is lovely. I hope hes nicer to her than he is to the customers. Customers and employees should never have to be subjected to that mans behavior.

Like several other reviewers have mentioned, the staff is nice, but the owner definitely isnt. I came to ask about gunsmithing, and from the moment I walked into the store to the moment I walked out, he failed, or rather avoided to make eye contact. He literally addressed me without looking up from his computer. Only his employee actually greeted me. Ive been to many gun shops, and generally, they are kind and informative. If there were to be any more competition, this joke would be out of business. Search up Gun shops in parker, Co, and you will find some awesome shops like one that rhymes with Iron Coarse Armory. Dont waste your time. These guys have a very small inventory and variety to sell. I heard from my friend that Pony Express Firearms occasionally sells surplus AK magazines though, so if thats what you want then go for it!

I just purchased a new CMP M1 with a new, dry wood stock and after some research decided to leave finishing the stock to someone more experience than I. Billy quoted me about a month of wait time and was able to accommodate to my needs of trying to keep the wood as original looking as possible with the least amount of shine. After a little less than a month the rifle was finished and looking absolutely magnificent. I will absolutely use them again with their stock of unique firearms available and their excellent gun smithing.

Came here after a horrible experience at another gun store (more like a red dot and conspiracy theory store) nearby. Unlike a lot of places, these guys actually know guns beyond black plastic shiny ones. I brought in my fathers old Russian pistol knowing nothing about it, just knowing it did not work, and not only did their gunsmith get it fixed up for me in a jiffy but the other guy there was able to tell me when it was made, roughly when it came into the US, and they even had the ammo for it at a decent price.

Had the biggest selection of AK47s around, all at good prices. Let me pick out the one that I wanted without trying to hard sell me on anything. Ended up with a really nice Yugoslavian Ak47, and cant wait to go to the range.

Todays visit was not great either because despite being advertised as opening at 10am, it is now 1015 and there are no signs of life inside. I wanted a concealed carry gun because of all the scary stuff going on overseas, I figure its just a matter of time before it shows up in my backyard. After the 2 guys behind the counter asked me a few questions and showed me some guns, I settled on a Bersa Thunder because it just fit my hand so well. What impressed me was they were not trying to get me to buy anything, in fact they kept telling me I should go and rent some guns first before buying to see what I liked. I did not want to wait though. Im very happy with my gun and they also gave me the card of an NRA instructor so I could take the class for my permit. Very pleased!

I love how this store has rare used guns as well as new ones. I recently got a 1920 commercial luger from here, which I was surprised to find since its pretty rare and they knew all about it.. Whoever designed the parking lot of the entire shopping center should be shot (no pun intended) becausei t can be an absolute nightmare when its busy but I love this store.

I bought a used beretta nano here for a price I couldnt believe. I actually had to ask if it was mistagged cause the price was so good. Whole process of buying it took only a few minutes, and the military posters on the wall were fun to look at while I waited.

Transferred an M1 Garand through this shop, and was in and out in about 10 minutes. They were quick and efficient, and even had the specialty ammo I needed for the rifle. All in all very pleased.

Being female I wanted a concealed carry gun just for personal safety, and I pass this place all the time on Parker road. I know nothing about guns and was nervous coming into this place because every gun store Ive been in are good old boy clubs, they look down their noses at women and treat us like stupid little girls even though we come in with money. The guys at this place were completely respectful, asked me what I needed, and let me handle probably half a dozen guns until I found one that was the perfect size, felt good in my hand, didnt take all my arm strength to pull the slide back, came in an ammo size that is easy to get, fit perfectly in my purses front pocket, etc. I walked out with a Baretta Nano and some ammunition feeling very confident. If youre female and want to buy a gun, go to this store.

Excellent experience transferring a rifle in from another state for my son. The girl behind the counter helped me filled out the paperwork for the background check, and once that came back approved I gave them $40 and walked out with the rifle, all in all about 10 minutes out of my life. Everywhere else I called around to wanted $75 and over!

This is the best gun store Ive ever been to its been almost a year since I got my first rifle and the owner still remembers the model off the top of his head and asks me how its shooting every time I go in the shop.

I went in and wanted to sell a firearm I didn’t shoot it very much. I called and asked what I could get for the fire arm and they said between 200 and 175. So I went in told them what I wanted todo and they said they give 40 dollars for it. I was by far from happy with this situation. The guy was rude looked at what they sold at at auction I went back in with the same fire arm and asked if he could do 80 dollars for it. Again treated rudely. I had a case with it that I had boughten seperetly and wanted it back didn’t even ask and before I could say I wanted it back it was already in the back of the store. I will never go back to this place based on the way I was treated with disrespect. I don’t care if ur the owner of the place or just an employee. That is know reason to treat someone with disrespect.

I have visited this store several times and have found the inventory to be interesting and worth looking at, but the owner really doesnt seem very interested in waiting on or talking with potential customers. This surprises me since it is a small business. Ive collected historic firearms for 20 years and am always interested in talking about, and potentially buying from an interesting inventory - which this store has. I visited again yesterday, 11/12/16.The owner was sitting at his computer at the counter. I was not greeted when I entered the store and was not spoken to while I looked through through every case and every item on display. When I asked about a new shipment of Mosin Nagant rifles (probably 40) that was lined up against the back counter, my questions were returned with questions rather than answers. I tried to engage a couple of times, but the owner seemed extremely uninterested in talking about (selling) anything. He seemed upset and came across as rude and arrogant. I simply left. Not sure Ill return. There really are too many more choices on the internet... Not sure how long this business will last, frankly.

Been here twice now and both times talked to who I assume is the owner. First time I was looking to purchase a firearm but he didnt seem interested in selling me one maybe he assumed I was just window shopping but whatever I guess. The second time I came in made me write this review, I was looking for a buscadero belt and assumed this would be a good place to check since he has a lot of older WWII and old west items (i mean It is called pony express). I asked him about a local company that makes them but they dont have a retail store and he told me to go to the internet. Not a very helpful guy and very short I was in there for less than 30 seconds before I was turned away to the internet I will not be coming back again.

Formerly Rocky Mountain Guns and AmmoI came into this shop when I saw that it was under new management/ownership as I had a poor experience with the previous operation. I needed a gunsmith and found Billy Mayfield working in the shop. I need a Winchester Model 21 worked on as this is a pretty expensive gun wanted someone that was competent and confident that they could do the work. Mr. Mayfield assured me he could but told me he would have to take his time on the work. I said that was ok but didnt understand that after months he would have done nothing on my gun. I called Mr. Mayfield checking in for the fourth time to get a status on my gun. I was told again that he hadnt even looked at it yet so I told him that my wife was in town and would stop by and pick it up as I wouldnt wait any longer. This shop is back on my no go list and I wont try them again.
