Everyone friendly and helpful..we only come here for all our pool chemicals, toys,and water testing

My experience with Gene Lilly has amazing. We’ve been customers for over 7 years. Yesterday, I went to the store to have my pool water tested because we could not get rid of algae in our salt water pool after weeks of trying everything.The young lady who helped me gave me step by step instructions to remove the algae. She was very patient and wrote down the instructions on paper and on the chemical bottles. We completed the steps and woke to a crystal clear pool. By far the best pool supply store and advisors. Thank you very much Gene Lilly pools!

Great customer service and great pricing. The staff was knowledgeable and helped me with my pool issues. They just became my favorite pool store! Love all the furnishings in the store as well.

I love this place...not only do they have everything youll need for your pool, they wont rob u at gunpoint either. They also have a mobile team that will come out like a house call and diagnose/fix whatever Murphy has done to your pool/filter/pump. Customer service is #1.

I have been dealing with Gene Lilly for several years now and every time I go in there, they are helpful. The whole staff is friendly and go out of there way to address your needs. I have bought a pool and an arcade machine from them and whether it is water testing, supplies, or questions I may have, they are there to assist. I will continue dealing with them for years to come.

Very friendly staff and helpful, they answer questions and explain in a simple way for a Fifth-grader to understand. Some of the items are less than Leslie and others are the same. Shop around and compare they always say. if you have to have or can you wait for delivery.

To date, Ive purchased a ski ball machine, 6 chairs, 2 neon, and a large amount of pool supplies including a robot. All the items are great. The staff here is even better. Always helpful and friendly. I try to only purchase pool and game room supplies from here.

They will help you fix any pool issue - mechanical and chemical! Even walked me through mechanical repairs several times. They dont try to sell you anything unneeded. Good quality products.

The pool supplies we we well stocked. This was the only place I could find 3 chlorine tablets!

Sad to say this place really went downhill on customer service since changing hands.

Awesome 1st time experience. Showed up 2 minutes before closing and the staff was very helpful and friendly. Got in & out without feeling rushed or like I was holding them up ( I was...sorry), and got needed supplies!

Always go here to get the pool water tested. They only give you the chemicals you need and precise directions on how to use them. Great place to go for all your pool needs.

My bf just told me he went here looking for a filter for our pool he brought ours in to try to find the right size.. so while hes looking around for it an employee walks up to him with filter in hand and said these should work . My bf did not ask for help from this employer, they just walked up with what he was looking for and handed it to him ..he told me this and I said oh yea I am leaving a review!!!!! This kind of customer ser ice just does not happen these days. I have never been here before but will make sure I keep them in mind!!!!!! Employee deserves some recognition for going above and beyond!!!!!!!!!!!

This used to be the best pool store around but they have decided they no longer want to help anyone that didn’t buy all of their pool parts/chemicals at their store. Parts counter flat out lied to me saying they don’t carry any parts for waterways pumps because they don’t sell them. Then he proceeded to hand me a waterways part. I was going to drop about 50 bucks in the store. Instead I dropped my would be purchases where I stood never to shop there again

This place is great. I will no longer shop at the chain place up the street. It might be a few dollars more(not really) but the service is so much better

Always a welcoming place to go to, they have all of your pool needs, arcade games for sale. Spas, and unique coolers in there. They also have pool side furniture to complete your summer pool parties. If you need water testing they do that to. Its a pool store with a unique look.

Corey and Daryll are the best pool people in Maryland. They are very knowledgeable about any problem. I have had multiple problems and they solved every one. Thank you for all your help

Nice local pool store. Has better prices and service than the Leslies pool store that is a few hundred meters up the road. The place is filled with pinball machines and video games now.

I want to sing the high praises of this company! We bought an incredible pool from them and we LOVE it. The staff is friendly, professional, and they all have delightful personalities. The pool was installed last Friday (the 13th) and it’s a sight to behold. Then, the next day (by no fault or affiliation with Gene Lilly) without my knowledge a pool water company filled our brand-new pool with water that looked worse than water you’d find in the Inner Harbor, it was BLACK (no lie). We were mortified! Much like Superman, the staff at Gene Lilly immediately came out to the house and treated the pool. This was followed up with two additional visits and now, as a result (and in four days) the pool is crystal clear and above all SAFE! I don’t know how they performed this miracle but we are not only ecstatic, we are so grateful for their generosity, patience (because I was a certifiable basket case about this whole ordeal), and above all their dedication to their customers. They have a stellar reputation. Customer service and professionalism of this echelon is a rare find! Thank you, Gene Lilly! If you are looking for a pool company look no further…… THIS IS IT. They are THE BEST!

Ive been a customer of Gene Lily Pools for about 20 years. They installed our pool, and when we decided to buy a hot tub, my wife wouldnt even let me consider another store. The prices are right, and they pretty much have everything in stock. They are extremely knowledgeable regarding all things pool and spa related.There are other pool stores closer to us, but the real reason we buy from them is the customer service. OUTSTANDING is not even adequate to describe it. We arent in the store all that often, but they know us by name, and bend over backwards to help us. I dont know any other store you can find that at nowadays.

We have issues with our pool every year and they would be intolerable if not for the fine folks working at Gene Lilly. They are helpful, knowledgeable and get this folks, actually care about their clients. I can’t say enough about how great they are. I highly recommend them!

The people that work here know pumps, pools and chemical balancing like nobody! Ive bought a filter and pump and the price was reasonable. Seems like a nice family oriented business. I got an A on my opening water check this year.. Im a star!

Opened my pool late this year. Went to Gene Lillys store to have my water tested at 4:47 pm. I was told they stop testing water 15 minutes before closing time. After being a loyal customer for over 10 years, and Gene Lilly himself dug the pool for me long before he had a store front, I was shocked to see the cashier start playing on her cell phone instead of helping a customer with a potential sale. Sorry Gene, looks like our relationship is over. Your business gets an F- in customer service.

I bought our pool here several years ago. The help is great and very knowledgeable. The only issue I have with this place is pricing. I wonder how can a store charge almost 300% (7/12/18) more than the cost of a pump that I can get online. I understand brick and mortar but come on 300% more. I recently bought a ladder here for my above ground pool. The price was comparable to an online store. Plus, it was cheaper without the shipping cost. Which was a joke coming from the online store. (Updated 8/28/20).

We have been a customer of Gene Lillys retail store for 20 plus years and have always been happy with their knowledgeable staff and one on one advise. Their seems to have been some changes in staff at this store and we recently took an automatic pool cleaner there to be repaired because it was not working properly. We dropped the unit off in September of 2018 and inquired about the progress of its repair a few times through the winter season. We were finally called in April of 2019 and were told that the unit was working properly and was ready for pickup and the cost was $266.00. We opened our pool a week later and when we put the pool cleaner into the pool it was doing the same thing (not working) that it did when we decided to have it repaired. We made a phone call to Gene Lilly about this and we were told that the service guy would not be returning to work for 4 days and we should call back then. We decided to check the impeller in the unit per the suggestion of the troubleshooting guide from the manual. when we removed the cover to expose the impeller we found that there were no blades on the impeller. They had been broken off. We ordered the part through an internet site at a cost of $21.99 and when the part was delivered we installed the impeller and then put the unit into the pool again and it worked flawlessly and has been since then. We called the service tech about this and he said that he was very sorry to hear about this but there was nothing that he could do about it. I recently went into their store to purchase a few bags of shock and while I was there I asked to speak with a manager or someone in charge. I am not convinced that the person I spoke with was a manager but I proceeded to explain this same story to him and his response was basically the same as the service techs. There was nothing that they could do about it. He claimed that they checked the unit in a sink before it left. I really dont know how you check a pool cleaner in a sink but that is what I was told. I am totally convinced at this point that all that was wrong with our pool cleaner was a $21.99 impeller and that I should have just went that route in the beginning instead of trusting Gene Lilly with repairing our cleaner. I feel like we have been ripped off by Gene Lilly and the 3 bags of shock treatment that I purchased today will be my last dealings with this company. This is very unfortunate for me because I am very close to their store but there are other retail stores in the area and I guess I will be forced to shop there in the future.

I have had nothing but great experiences with Gene Lilly Pools. I bought a spa from them a few years ago and they were and are awesome to deal with from the sales process to the setup, and now for the servicing of the spa. They make sure I am taken care of every time I walk through their doors. Absoluteyy great people to deal with!

Unfortunately, my experiences with this company have been abysmal. I have called on a few occasions and have been treated more rudely than I have ever been treated by any other company. I realize others have had good experiences and I am really puzzled as to why I have had such horrendous ones. I called once because they were listed as a warranty servicer for a piece of equipment I had that needed service. The woman on the phone was rude and dismissive - and thats an understatement. I reported Gene Lilly Pools to the company (Hayward) that had them listed as a warranty servicer (as Gene Lilly Pools refused to service my equipment). Another time I called about a pool liner (thinking perhaps my first experience had been a fluke) and was again treated horrendously by a man on the phone. A third time I called with a question about a product (product info and inquiry as to whether they had it in stock) and a different woman (Im now on my third person Ive ever spoken to there) was again rude. Their prices are much better than their neighboring pool store, Leslie Pools, but no one at Leslies has ever treated me with any less than complete and friendly service, so I usually end up paying more at Leslies in return for being treated like a human being. Many people in my area go to Gene Lilly Pools and I cant believe staff there are rude and nasty to all their customers - Im just lucky, I guess. But their treatment of me has been shockingly horrible.

If you need pool or hot tub help in our area, this is the place to go. They go above and beyond and help with your every need. They even have a side business that sells arcade games.

They have been fantastic to me for ten years Darryl or Mrs Bathon yell out Hello Miss A. They are smart helpful, tell me what I need, cut PC pipe and there is never more then one person in front of me at the service desk and usaully no wait at check.

Gene Lilly has been nothing short of incredible, with regard to everything. I went to Leslies, and their inferior water testing cost me almost $200.00. I gave up, and went to Gene Lilly. They have never tried to sell me anything, and in fact, on more than one occassion, have told me not to purchase anything; your water and pool are fine.Their expertise is second to none. If I ever do purchase a spa, it will be from them.

They have everything and prices are cheaper than other pool supply stores and customer service is the best.
