Stopped by the Payson, AZ Safeway on a road trip. They have a well stocked produce section with great variety. The gentleman at the deli made an awesome custom sandwich, which sure beats most of the fast food while traveling. Good prices, great staff! I recommend this store.

Good selection of product. Getting in and out of the parking lot can be a chore. Prices are reasonable. As usual with most grocery stores, they could use a couple more cashiers. Self checkout is usually the best bet.

The people here are so nice, we picked up some flowers here for the cemetery. Customers service is great, restrooms are clean. Please stop in for your supplies.

Big store with lots of selection we dont seem to have in Glendale. Only complaint was aisles seemed very narrow.

I just ran in on the suggestion of a long time resident of Payson. I wanted to pick up a couple of soups. But I got there about 230p and there was only. (if I scraped the pot) enough for almost a single full container. But hey, Im flexible. AND THEY HAD SUSHI !! Unfortunately, I chose Calif. roll. Avocado wasnt even close to ripe; you couldnt eat any part of it. But fish and rice was great. Next time Ill know how to choose wisely.

The people here are always very kind and friendly. They always greet me like a friend. It is why I shop there instead of the other nearby stores

I just want to thank the Payson Safeway for stocking some vegan and plant based staples and treats. It makes me to happy to be able to go to my store and buy my favorites without having to drive down to the valley. As a vegan in Payson I feel very seen for the first time. Thank you so much.

This store is great!! I have been shopping at this store since 2018. Produce, meat, seafood, deli and most store brand products are very good. Plus, the customer service is super!!

Good selection and good quality. Not as cheap as WalMart, but I can appreciate that they spend more in resources to keep the store clean and well stocked. Self-checkout was definitely better than standing in line with a checkout clerk. The clerks dont seem to have any interest in even trying to move quickly to keep up with the high volume.

Is a nice Safeway. It has pretty much everything you would find in a safe way in the valley or up north. The people who work are friendly and helpful. Like the lucky news the Safeway up here and save on things in the store. I also like that they do the Monopoly but thats pretty much everyone every safe way.

The store had a very nice selection. I’m always looking for things that are a little more healthy, natural, organic and why I didn’t see a dedicated section for this, I did see a lot of the products that I would normally get at sprouts or Whole Foods there.

This store handles a high volume of tourist traffic quite effectively.

The best grocery prices ever seen only wish they were in Rio Rancho, NM.

I had to up my rating to four stars. The food is a bit more expensive then my regular shops but is still fairly priced. They have a great produce section and I enjoy their deli and butcher. I have to search out the bargains as I am on a budget but the quality is definitely worth a couple extra dollars...

Have to go back cashier put my magazine on top of counter instead of bag so therefore I have to make a trip back. Last week bought two types of ready made chicken and both were really over cooked, so had to toss mist of it. This is not like Safeway and thus location.

Best place to stop before heading to the mountains. Clean and friendly. Starbucks always has the nicest ppl.

Fairly diverse amount of items from which to choose, very clean. Lots of missing items but that is the world in which we live.

I bought a bag of potatoes that looked fine. 3 days later something smelled bad. It was my unopened bag of potatoes with like 5 rotten. Also I bought bagged salad made one salad and it went bad in 2 days. Always love safeway but with food prices what they are im going to go to Frys.

This store cannot seem to get their sale prices to ring up accurately. Almost every time Im there I have to return to the store or wait in line at Cust. Serv. to get the sale prices. Today sale prices didnt ring up for anyone, and the lines were ridiculous.

Good groceries just I use the online pick up for a few thing and get a substituted item every time if not 2 of them.

Its a very small very clean store. I love the produce section, I just wanted a good apple, and I happily discovered they have like 10 kinds of them. Awesome!!! Check em out.

This is my favorite place to stop and use the bathroom before heading into the woods mainly for its convenience. They have nice fresh bagels here and the store is usually pretty busy so be prepared for a small wait.

They are good about giving sale prices if it doesnt appear on receipt. Usually can find what I need. People nice.

Quick stop, make sure you have a club member card for advertised prices. Customer service was average and service time is average.

The store is always clean, the staff is always friendly, and the selection cant be beat.

Weve been camping and have had been going to Walmart only because we needed camping supplies. Thankfully we dont need anymore camping supplies and Safeway is our new go to store. Clean, the Checker know you want to get the heck out of the store after getting your items and they are so much more efficient. Will be back!

Just like our neighborhood Smiths in Albuquerque and we were even able to use our rewards card out of town. I like the clean store and friendly staff. Would come here again in a pinch for groceries or drinks.

Clean well stocked store. Meat dept. Is great. Always has lots of well cut selections of reasonably priced meat. Bakery has lots of fresh baked goodies. Love the half pies.

The produce has a great variety of fruits and vegetables. Many I have never heard of or even tried. But thats changing.! Ive tried a few new ones lately...! Last one I tried was a small turnip sized radish when cut open has a bright pink Starburst inside it went great in r salad.!

Very clean, well stocked grocery store and definitely the best place to shop in Payson! The Walmart isnt far, but I was very surprised to see that the prices at Safeway were the same or even less than Walmart prices! Theres a Starbucks in here too. Highly recommend!

Great mango drink sales. Good to use with fish and chicken! The smoked salmon and pine nuts were a treat with a bed of safeways fresh spring mix salad.

Beds were terrible, hard and uneven, very difficult to sleep on. The sofa was literally falling apart, you could not lay or sit on it. The kitchen faucet needed repair. Very uncomfortable lodging for this kind of money. Wont be back

Bad gas.. stuttered until I got to show low and diluted it... Other stations out of gas in Payson. Mustve what is passing for gas in a shortage

Typically the best store for grocery shopping. Produce section is always better than Walmart or Bashas. If I buy meat, its always from Safeway but most of our meat is organic Wlid Game!

Safeway in Payson is a great place to shop for daily groceries at a great price, including hot, cold, and frozen goods. The store is always clean and organized, plays great tunes, and stays stocked.

Self checkout system is the worst in retail. Forces this longtime Albertsons/Safeway customer to use other food stores when possible.

Please be aware of miss priced items. I was charged way more than the item’s normal price on TWO items within two days time. The chicken breast, normally charged around $3.00 to $4.00 was charged as steak at $14.00! Wow! The cookies...normally $6.00 tops, was charged at $14.00! What happened to good old Safeway values, honesty and customer service?! I miss it and my donation to Albertsons! Have pictures to prove, if anyone is interested!

Clean bathrooms for travelers such as us passing through in the middle of the night. Great spot to restock for the road and a quick breather!

I go to Safeway for the cut fruit. But while I was there I was doing all my other shopping as well. The produce department was horrible the apples where spoiled, along with the tomatos. You can tell that they don’t rotate old product out. My cut fruit bowl had spoiled watermelon in it. The only good part about the store was the deli Ryan and Julie helped me out one helped me in the hot case while the other was slicing my meat and cheese! What a great team! When I went to go get milk the shelves was empty but Daniel was a great help and got the milk I needed from the back. Daniel was supper sweet and a big help!

Great selection of products, pricy but fresh.

It is clean friendly and organized well. Produce department is appealing and produce is rotated to avoid spoiled fruits and vegetables. Good social distancing. Prices may be a little higher, but it is worth it to me.

Safeway was clean and well stocked. We had a good shopping experience. The staff works very hard here. Very nice people.
