Amazing job!!! These guys do a great job making Fast cars!!! Very professional and can answer any questions anytime. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Richard “tuned” my 2017 Mustang GT. The car wouldn’t run right and had a steady misfire. I tried to get Richard to fix it for about 2 weeks before he ghosted me and I gave up. I took the car to another local tuner to fix his mistakes. Come to find out, the fuel trim was off around 30%. New tuner corrected the problems and got 23 more horsepower out of the car on a conservative tune. I recommend going to literally anyone else but Richard to tune your car.
Richard was great. Excellent work and quick. Had my headers installed way faster than I could of ever done it. Much appreciated!
Havent taken my car there yet, but after reading all these scary, bad reviews, theres no way i could go there. Thanks to the people that took the time to write the reviews and inform us of the troubles in this place.
Cares about your concerns and is happy to explain whats going on quality work would suggest
Great staff and very knowledgeable. Had a problem at the race track and Richard showed us great hospitality, professionalism and helped us out with whatever we needed to get up and running. There shop had what was necessary and we were up and racing again. Thanks guys!!
Incredible staff that are super knowledgeable and really helped us out at the the track. You couldnt ask to deal with a better shop. Thank you for everything guys👍
Called This place told them I had bought a tuning for my truck immediately hanged up I was going to ask him what other updates can I do I called back from another phone no answer called back again from my phone no answer it looks to me all the bad reviews are from Mexicans or latinos they may be racist call yourself and find out make sure you speak perfect English
Richard has always taken good care of me, even if its something last minute, he will fit me in. Maybe if you guys arent douchebags looking over his shoulder the entire time hes working on your car there wouldnt be an issue.I dropped my car off on a Monday as he asked and he told me it would be a while to tune it. I told him that I wanted it right, so take his time because there was no rush. He started tuning my car at 6 am and didnt finish until after 1. He installed a new off road pipe and mufflers for me as well. You will have an issue with every shop that you go to, so that should be expected. Its their response to the problem that matters.
Its been almost a year since I had my car tuned from here. I had to wait nearly 2 hours just for the guy to tune my car. Then when he tuned it, didnt even ask me what I was looking for or anything. He tuned my car in like 30 mins, would of liked someone to take their time on perfecting it. Since then my car has been running rich and runs rough after awhile. While I was there I even watched this guy move one of the Mustangs there and he actually hit one of the other cars parked! I wouldnt recommend them.Car: 2003 Mustang Cobra
Yup, a while back I bought a 302R bare block from this douche, took it to a machine shop in Alvin to have it seasoned for build.... the owner called me and asked me where unwanted chain welded too on block... I asked why?? He informed me the block I bought had a fairly recent catastrophic failure so bad it had cracked the holes where main cap bolts/studs screwed in.... and the block had several cracks he let me watch a magnaflux check..... looked like Swiss cheese so many cracks...contacted (left voicemail) go figure never a call back and never an answered call...... thank God I had very little $$$ in the transaction... I blew it off and keep looking for him at track when I go..... I figure the thrashing I will give him will offset the money no biggy..... see ya some day slick rich
If I could leave negative zero I would, these guy’s sux at mechanical work really they have know clue??? Find a different repair shop, please don’t waste your time and hard earned money with these fools. I was charged for a fuel pump ASSEMBLY and come to find out the only thing changed was the FUEL PUMP ONLY…After two months of having more issues with my fuel system I sent my pony to real mechanic shop and when they dropped the fuel tank they called immediately to show me the butcher job done... Not only that the none experienced mechanic broke the two prone electrical plug causing the pump to shut off and on. Thank god my fuel tank didn’t blow…you get what you pay for? I would have tried to talk with the owner Richard, but I’m sure nothing would have gotten settle. I would have just been spinning my wheels.
BEWARE!!I purchased a 2001 Saleen mustang with 67,000 miles on it. After I purchased this vehicle I wanted to get the maintenance up to date. I took it over to Strictly Performance to do the work. The a/c compressor went bad so i had him replace it. I was very specific in that i wanted only the factory part put in my car and not some garbage from the auto parts store. He assured me that it would be the factory compressor. After about one week the brand new compressor went bad (which was odd) and I had to take it back to him to replace the new one. I found out later that it wasnt the factory compressor and that it was from an auto parts store (I had it checked out). He lied to me and told me that it was from the dealership. While he was fixing the compressor he said my cooling fan was bad. This seemed odd to me because it was fine before I took it in. At this point I just wanted my car out of his shop because I felt like something wasnt right. The new fan was also a cheap piece of garbage. While I was waiting in the lobby he comes running in and tells me that there is a BIG problem. So i go back there with him and my car was smoking from an electrical fire that they had caused. He told me the reason it happened was because there was some change (money) that was in the middle console cigarette lighter and it caused it to short out and burn the wiring harness. I was a little confused because the fuses are supposed to bust before this happens. He told me that he has seen it a hundred times. Needless to say I towed my vehicle out of his shop first thing in the morning because I didnt know what was going to happen to it next. I called the engineers at Saleen in California and told them about what happened and they said that there is no way that would have burned the wiring harness and that the fuse should have blown instead. I found out later from a ford dealership that the they (Strictly Performance) put 50 amp fuse in a 20 amp slot. I called him (Richard Lelsz) (owner) and asked him to help me pay for the damages he caused and he told me he was not responsible. He told me he would have business no matter what with an arrogant tone. The best tool at my disposal is word of mouth and social media and i intend to use it. YOUVE BEEN WARNED! This guy is shady and cares nothing for your vehicle.
After taking my car to get a five lug conversion done I picked the vehicle up with different tires that were dry rotted and not even the same size. The suspension springs were stripped off and replaced with some crap, and nobody seems to have a clue to what happened.
I was going through some old pictures and found one of the 1989 Mustang I had back in the late 90’s and brought up memories of Strictly Performance. In 1997 I met Richard Lelsz and the guys from Strictly Performance at Houston Raceway Park when they were out testing a silver fox body Mustand with a large cowl hood that was fast and looked good so I checked it out between runs since I was racing my Mustang too. They gave me a drink coozie and I kept it around in case I needed some parts back in those pre-Internet days. A couple months later I bought a 1989 Mustang with a 347 stroker engine and supercharger for a ridiculously cheap price and found out why is it had a blown head gasket. I was 17 at the time and had never done major engine work so once I pulled the whole thing apart I realized I had no idea how to reassemble it. I called up Strictly Performance to have them replace the gasket, put on some Trick Flow heads (which had just started being offered at that time), 1.6 ratio roller rockers, and a boost control/retard kit. I was living in Katy and at the time Strictly was over by Hobby airport so checking on the car was a long drive but I stopped in unannounced a couple of times. Every time I came by the crew was all smoking weed in the shop and not working on the car. At some point they called me and told me to bring oil to do an oil change before they give me the car back that it was done. I had a friend bring me over there and when we arrived Richard drove my car out and ragged it out to a ridiculous extent, we could hear him peeling out and flooring it all around the area for a good twenty minutes. They then gave me the car back without changing the oil and I remind you this is after a blown head gasket meaning there was antifreeze and everything else in the oil. Less than two weeks later unsurprisingly the head gasket blew again and this time I decided it was a good time to learn how to work on cars so me and friends decided to replace it. In taking the engine apart we found that Strictly had installed Chevy 1.5 ratio roller rockers on my car and grinded down the valve covers to make them fit, had not even wired the boost control kit, and my cylinder heads were literally broken in multiple places due to their poor work (these were the pictures I recently found that reminded me of these jerks). My parents were pissed and talked to Richard on the phone one day and Richard proceeded to tell my father that I had been peeling out and ragging out the car around their parking lot when in fact he was the one who had did it with multiple people there to witness it happen. Strictly agreed to send the heads in for warranty repair and Richard told me a week or so later that they had gotten the heads back from Trick Flow and wanted me to pay for the shipping. I got there early and at the time Strictly was located next to a business named The Head Shop which did cylinder head repair. I went into The Head Shop and asked the guy if he was the one who worked on my cylinder heads and he said yes he had done the work proving Richard had lied once again. After this I never returned to Strictly and have performed all work on my vehicles since then myself doing everything from transmission to full motor swaps. I am putting this review up because I hope it will at least save one person from being screwed over as hard as I was in my high school days by this business. I cannot believe this horrible place is still in business.
Got a midpipe and cat back done and the service was great! Couldnt be happier with the way things turned out!
Richard is an absolute moron. Took my 2011 GT500 to him with simple bolt ons (intake, mid-pipe, pulley) and he didnt know how to turn the boost bleed valve OFF in the tune... This means that with a pulley he tuned the car on STOCK BOOST. Thus, there was no point in the tune at all, since the parts came with a tune from Evolution Performance that makes more power than his crappy tune. He also didnt turn my Heat Exchanger Pump ON, so the blower will heat soak and lose even more power.DO NOT TAKE YOUR CARS TO HIM. HE IS SKETCHY AND KNOWS NOTHING.He only takes care of his shop cars and doesnt want to deal with you.Might I add that this bad experience was after 6hrs of waiting in his lobby while he dealt with his wife niece.
The guy there said he couldnt work on my 96 corvette that they only fix newer cars 99 and up that my car is a different monster nobody there wold be able to work on it or know what there doing.
No complaints!!
How are they still in business.
Always on point
Awesome!!!!
