There is so much to say about this bookstore.... first of all, it seems like they have forgotten that bookstores are not about buying books anymore... people will go to amazon for that, its supposed to be about the atmosphere, the charm, the lighting, and the experience. This is something that is missing at PBC. The burned out neon lights and strangely shelved books (horizontal, who does that?) tell me that someone should go check out their competitors in other towns... The new book section is small and most used-books are cheap, worn pulp-fiction style books. There is no real place to comfortably sit down and read. It looks more like a community college library without the charm. It feels like they stopped caring or gave up. Disappointing, since this is the only bookshop in town. There is so much that could be done for very little money to transform that place. Sad.

I go into this bookstore to buy something that I like once in a while, they have reasonable prices for the used books 📚, but to my dismay ☹️ the selection of books are limited. The reason for my dismay☹️ is that the rest of the shelves are filled with pulp-fiction; the owner needs to balance the ratio of pulp-fiction and used 📚 so that there would be a more variety of used 📚.

I tend to raid the 25 cent rack but find authors and subjects I am seeking as well.

I was SO disappointed walking in here. I’m a READER, and this is Pendleton’s only bookstore! But sadly, there’s an underwhelming offering of books here, and an even more painful lack of charm. This store’s interior has all the appeal of an oversized garage, complete with ugly shelves and lacking any sort of excitement or appeal. Thank goodness for the library, and Amazon!

Owner is a fabulous person, easy to talk to and she will always try & please you with a request if not in store! Have returned time after time....

I found a very rare book for a cheap price and in good condition. I received it damaged by the usps but Thanks to  Debbie she resolved the issue fast and made things right. I would for sure trust and buy from this store again. I dont agree with the 2 and 3 star reviews they dont make sense and are not justifiable.  A book store doesnt  need to be cute and charmful if the shelves are empty or lack a large selection it means they are doing good business and maybe have`nt stocked back up due to time or what ever reason. . and a shelf is a shelf who cares if its ugly.  The most you can ask for are good prices and great customer service which is what i got. Just want to let the customers know the store is now open 5 days a week 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. It has not been open on Monday for at least 3 years.

I love this store. The ladies working are always helpful and nice to me. It was my used book store when I lived in Pendleton and I always stop there when Im visiting. They have new and used books and can order books if they dont have it.

They ordered older books for me at a reasonable price. Great place. Friendly knowledgeable staff.
