Went in to start the process of looking for new light fixtures and this place was amazing! Plenty of options at decent prices. Staff is very friendly and open to answer any questions.

Uncaring salespeople and customer service. We walked in to 3 people sitting at their desks. One spoke. We stated that we were looking for a floor lamp. Her input was for us to look around. Seeing nothing that we liked, we left. No one ever approached us or made suggestions or offered looking in a catalogue. I had the same experience a few years ago but returned as not many places here have a big lighting showroomUpdate: Had the opposite experience at Urban Objects and ordered a lamp. They were caring and helpful.

Great selection. Helpful staff. Only place in Pensacola that had the bulb I needed.

In the past few months I’ve been to Mathes Lighting twice and had the same experience. On both occasions i was in the store for at least 15 minutes, but the employees were too busy at their desks to offer assistance or acknowledge that I was there. It is quite strange to shop in such a small space, with multiple employees on site, yet none of them speak to you - not hello, goodbye, or anything in between.

Any time I ever need anything concerning lighting.. this is the first place I go. Even if I dont have a project in progress I love to check out the BEAUTIFUL chandeliers and all the other unique functional lighting items. Also like talking to John.. he is a very interesting and genuine man.

Bought lights for our house from them. Some were missing parts and some were not same color. We are going on two months from the day we placed the order and still have not gotten the replacement lights that we brought back. They dont return calls and I have to keep calling them to check on status and nothing ever changes. No wonder mom and pop stores are closing. I will never use this place again. Do yourself a favor and buy online or from a box store. It is no difference than looking at catalogs at this place while they sit and talk to each other or stare at their computers. UPDATE:. Got a call from Mathes the day that I placed the review on Google (convenient) and said my lights were in so I went and got them and put them up to only find out that the Globes dont match the other ones we had bought and hung. I really wished I had just went to Lowes. Update#2. Returned the globes on Saturday and have not heard from them since and it is now late Thursday night. Amazing. Will definitely use Lowes next time. These lights came from Maxim lighting. Will never used this brand again.UPDATE!!! It is now almost three months since our original order and we still dont have all of the parts to our lights. When you go into their facility they hand you a brochure of the lighting companies that they represent and tell you to go home and look on your computer and find lights so why would you not just buy from Amazon or just go to Home Depot or Lowes like we should have.UPDATE 3!!! I ordered my lights in the second week of November and it is now the last day of February and I still do not have matching globes for my lights and the manufacturer of the lights and Mathes lighting is refusing to give me any money back on the lights and are blaming each other. I am begging everyone to do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. If four lights are going to break the bank, I couldnt imagine if you bought more. I was told by the manufacturer that the same lights are the ones that are sold to Home Depot and Lowes.
