Waited 15 minutes for help in the fishing dept. Purchasing a surf rod and some ammo. Went to get the rod spooled with their free service and was told that it didnt work. They told me there was nothing they could do. Asked for them to just give me the line and Ill do it myself. They said no you have to drive over there. Shot for that Ill purchase it over there. Crappie service. Dont complain much but if Im going to wait to be helped and then denied it sux.

Academy store in mcallen tx. Always out of pistol bullets in 9 and 40 mm. Ask them if they have some in the storeroom and they tell you they have some, but you have to buy another pistol in order for them to sell you the bullets that they have available. Rate them at 3

Im only living 5 stars for an employee that help me today. Her name is Jennifer, I asked other employees to help me. Since I had left the clothes on hold because I had forgotten my card in the truck. When I came back they told me that the clothes was already back in the floor. Which was weird because I went back to the floor and looked and couldnt find it. Then I ask Jennifer and she help me right a way and she found it. They still had it in costumer service. THANK YOU JENNIFER! because of you Academy on Expressway and Ware Rd get 5 Stars. They need to have more employees like you.

Helpful staff. They helped me out when I couldnt reach the shoes. Cashier was kind enough to help me find out what other stores carried the shoes I needed. I would of given it a 5,but it was hard to find an associate for help. Shoe area was neatly clean.

Curbside pickup is a joke. Followed link instructions to alert them I was waiting at curbside. After 15 minutes called and was told they were waiting for associate to pickup order to bring it outside(I figured they were extra busy that day, which is understandable). After after a few more minutes I get down only to find like 4 employees standing around!!! I ask one of them for help with curbside pick up and told me I had to line up at customer service line!!!! What is the purpose of using curbside pick up if I will have to get down and line up? Nonetheless I told them to just cancel my order. What a joke of customer service.

A few days ago I needed to go to the Pharr store to pick up a copy of a receipt . i talked to Sehay, a store supervisor. Ms. Sehay was very nice and promptly assisted me with my request. She was very professional, courteous and continued to assign her staff, while she helped me. Great job Ms. Sehay.

No complaints. If you are looking to buy ammo at normal prices academy is your best shot right now. Several stores receive shipments Monday, Wednesday, and friday. Gotta go early since a line its formed outside.Also, I bought a chair here thats really comfortable and is now my main chair to sit outside my house while drinking, smoking or bbqs.Some staff really doesnt care, but others will go above and beyond they are supposed to do. Depends on your luck.

My lil girls dad and I went inside this Academy to purchase my lil girls shoes for dance. While inside my lil girl needed to use the bathroom. I was groased out. Extremely dirty. To be such a big establishment in a large city, this Academy is very dirty and dis organized.

Go here for all my outdoor shenanigans. Prices range from fair-high. Depending on what you’re looking for this is the go to place for any outdoor item you’re looking for. Academy is an excellent company in variety and prices. Great staff in three stores that I’ve been to.

Negative experience at customer service desk. Upon buying a yeti cooler, I presented my academy gift card and the cashier said it was too late to apply it. The cashier was rude and Ill mannered. When I asked to speak to the manager, he was worse. Rude and ignorant personnel.

The clean store and the employees were nice but prices are getting high there.

I have to say everyone except the person for guns and bows was very helpful, and I really like they got a lot of variety for anything you need.

First and last time I do curbside there. They got my order correct but they gave me a shirt all snagged.I did not appreciate it. Now I have to go back to return it. Disappointed

People with narrow feet shoes its perfect but since Im a wide foot my selection is little and not very stylish. I would have better luck finding something with style at Wal-Mart than academy. Sad to say but got to step up your shoe game academy.

My wife ordered a UA shirt online for curbside delivery. I parked in the designated area, followed the link and entered my vehicle information. 7 minutes later no employee has come out with my purchase. I go into the store and wait in line at customer service. Once I get to the counter, I tell the young lady that my wife ordered a shirt, I provide my wife’s name, and even provided my driver license. She states that she cannot give me the shirt because it’s under a different name! I said yes, it’s under my wife’s name (I provide her name again and show her the order confirmation info, forwarded to me, from my wife, provided by Academy. She then asks for my wife’s photo ID.... luckily I keep a pic of my wife’s Drivers License on my phone, for such situations. The customer service provided at this Academy is unprofessional and definitely NOT customer service oriented. Avoid this store unless you enjoy substandard service

Some employees act rude and bothered. Theyre always out of stock on alot of essentials. Ive placed online orders that end up getting refunded alot because they dont have the item, they should update their database systems to show no stock online if theres none for pickup at store.

Nice place to shop but if you are calling the store for get it . No one ever answers and if they do they give you attitude like if you are a bother to them bad customer service over phone. The girl who answer me told me we are busy and if you really want to know you can come in and then she hung upon me.

Its no longer worth going to Academy when it comes to anything Guns and/or Ammunition everything is out of stock. Yes its not their fault but even a search on their site will say not available to ship or not at available at your store or any store with in 100 miles!

Though Ive had to go three times in the past week because Ive had to return some baseball pants it was not their fault. Well the first two was not. This last one there was a button missing on a $40 pair of baseball pants first time it was the wrong brand second time it was the wrong size. I did get a pair of tennis shoes marked down from $50 to $7 awesome safe

The place for everything sports and camping. I went to look at weight sets and bars and a special kind of water bottle. Also to check out the clearance sportswear for working out. Found the weights I was looking for at a great price and a good selection of sportswear. When I needed help finding the water bottle, a lovely young lady cleaning up the sportswear section went out of her way, literally across the store, to find the exact one I was looking for. She even guessed my favorite color. All in all one of my favorite stores.

GOOD FRIENDLY PEOPLE

I ordered a firearm online and I went to the store about using them as the receiving ffl dealer. The employee at the firearms counter assured me no more action was needed by me until the firearm was recieved. A week later I went back, as the seller hadnt received their ffl. I was informed that I had to call costumer support. I called costumer support and gave them the information needed. A week and a half later the seller emailed me saying the ffl still wasnt recieved. I called a nearby gunstore and within minutes the seller had received an ffl from them. Academy prolonged the process by giving wrong information and failing to send an email/fax to the seller.
