Just had my first experience there. Ive been in this industry for over ten years. They were knowledgeable, polite and refreshingly competent.

I recently purchased a concealed carry weapon, and some aftermarket night sights for it. I searched Google for a gunsmith in the Philadelphia area and read reviews saying that New Frontier could mount my sights quickly. I called them to confirm that they could do the job, specifying the gun and sights in question: an HK P30SK, and Trijicon HD XRs. For those who dont know, these are expensive, high-end products. The gentleman at the counter, Max, ensured me that he could do the job in a matter of minutes. The same day I drove 45 minutes up to New Frontier and bought the service. Fifteen minutes later Max presents me my gun, the new sights mounted but badly damaged (picture attached). I asked him if it is normal for them to look the way they did and he ensured me that it is. I went home and posted pictures online, and a number of people confirmed my suspicion that the job was badly botched. Turns out Max didnt have the right tool for the job but decided he could do it anyway, despite knowing very well how expensive my gear is (he said HK is one of his favorite brands, and that Trijicons are some of the best products in their class - both sensible judgments). I called the shop and discussed everything with Max, and it was immediately apparent that I would not be compensated for the damage to my $175 sights; the best he could do was refund the $25 service fee. For a moment it looked like we could find an arrangement that would work for both myself and the store (a discount package on future purchases), but when I realized it would cost me hundreds more dollars I decided I couldnt go through with it. At the end of the day I got my service fee back, but just have to purchase a second set of sights out-of-pocket (at least $150 more dollars). As far as I am concerned this is analogous to an auto repair shop agreeing to work on your Mercedes knowing they dont have the right tools, breaking it, and then refusing to pay for the damage. Completely unacceptable. The owners and operators of New Frontier have taken the moral low road and revealed their business values: they will do service they wont really stand by for a quick buck.I should also say that they have a very limited selection of firearms, many of which are low quality (Charter Arms revolvers, Anderson AR-15s). If youre serious about buying a firearm or accessories, go elsewhere.On the pro side, I should say that the wife of the owner (she may be part-owner herself), Beverly, is lovely and helpful. Unfortunately talking to her was the only redeeming part of my experience at New Frontier.

Staff never answers the phone. Waste of time driving all the way there for them too just tell you they’re out of an item etc. that could’ve been resolved over the phone In just a few seconds. The website is from the 1990’s as well so don’t even try to use that. It’s worth it to go somewhere else.

My go to shop for all of my firearm needs. Theyre a legit licensed dealer. The family that runs the business is excellent and very helpful. Also if its something in particular youre looking for dont be afraid to ask, theyll do there best to find it and work with you.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Have fair pricing on their new and used inventory, and give fair prices for buying your firearms. Decent selection for a smaller store, but will find whatever (within reason) you are looking for.

Just bought my first gun here and my boyfriend just bought his second from them and I was impressed by the service and knowledge of Beverly and William. Very friendly and helpful! Im currently thinking of purchasing a .380 or 9mm next time since the .22 I bought today is mostly for target shooting. Beverly let me hold a few of the guns and gave me some alternatives to see which one I liked best. Very comfortable in my hand (I have baby hands whereas my boyfriends hands are a lot bigger lol). Have visited this place a few times. I’ve bought a Springfield Saint and a Beretta 92S both came fast are wonderful. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. You really feel like you can just shoot the breeze with them while making a purchase.

I recently purchased my first fireman from this store and I am very satisfied. I had the pleasure of being serviced by Beverly who was very kind, professional and knowledgeable, her help was very appreciated. The whole process was very easy and Im glad I decided to go here instead of a huge store. I felt very comfortable here and would recommend a visit here to anyone! I will be back!

This business was drawn to me after reading the reviews. I finally took a trip to the store. First impression the lady behind the counter. Later come to know Beverly. Inquired about a few guns. Few days later. I bought my first weapon. Was very happy. I inquired about two other weapons. Got a call and told me one came in. When I got there she had ordered the second one with out my permission. It was just inquired. She lead me to believe it was a great special and it was a promotion. So I spent over $1500.00 in a space of two weeks. Later to find she was dishonest. I guess greed kicked in. I’m currently police officer. I would have thought discount was in place. Received not a penny. Come to find out the 650.00 weapon I bought wasn’t on sale but a fake lie. The weapon I bought should have being between $515 to $525. They charged me over $670.00 with tax. Future customers be careful. These owners are gold diggers and they will scam you. It shouldn’t be call new frontier. But greed outfitters. Don’t let the friendly smile fool you. Do your homework. Don’t take there words as face value. THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF BELIEVE YOU ME. Do your home work. My local brothers and federal departments will be told of this scam business. They loose staff members every other day. Second worker left today 03/14/2019 cause the staff know how they scam people. Steal money from honest hard working customers. Watch out for owner, They have only Bev.AR-15 sport two go for $525. Not $670.

New Frontier Outfitters is the best shop in Phila. Their service is fantastic whether its for a purchase or transfer and they make you feel welcome on every visit. If youve experienced the usual cold treatment in other shops take the time to visit them. Its obvious they love what they do and are willing to help you in any way possible. Ten Stars!!!!!

Great store with friendly staff. Firearm stores are well known for having a bad atmosphere with grumpy associates and creepy customers - well... this is not the case here. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and I was out the door fairly quickly. They are awesome with firearms transfers - also they seem to have some good options for handguns and rifles, its definitely worth stopping by if you are looking around to buy one. Ammo is also priced well. They have earned my business for years to come.

Beverly was super cool. Very helpful. Once item arrived I was called right away. I purchased a rifle and then a few days later an acog scope. I had an issue with the distributer, there was a missing hand grip, Beverly helped and everything worked out great! Im receiving the hand grip tomorrow! Thanks again I recommend!!! A+

Decent little fun shop with friendly staff

Ive used New Frontier twice ordering lowers from GunBroker. Beverly is fast and helpful with the FFL. Unlike most other gun shops in the area they dont ridicule you for buying online. They usually have pretty good deals on ammo and I pick some up while Im there. Excellent shop. Will continue to do business here. - Dave

Excellent local shop for firearms. Very knowledgable and they take good care of you!Walked in just to browse a few Springfield subcompacts and they ended up giving me a good deal on a lightly used XD mod 2. They also had a matching custom holster to go with it. Great service.

I try to get my first gun here, but it’s a very bad experience, I fill out all the from, and wait 2 weeks for the response,and they never contact me. I went back the store, the owner told me the government made mistake send the empty name in the application, and let me wait for another week to fix this mistake, until today I already wait for 4 weeks, they didn’t give me any call to the result.

A very nice little sportsman shop. Pleasant staff, little bit of everything in a small business setting. I am looking forward to using there FFL services to purchase classic firearms in the future as well.

Worst gun shop Ive ever had to deal with traded in (4) guns to the shop for them to purchase a special order rifle for me on November 5th and gun wasnt ordered until February when our agreement was the order would be place within a week. When I went to get a refund I only got 800 and they are refusing to pay the additional 850 still owed to me, their excuse is to blame employees even with receipts they stopped returning my emails. Stay away from this place. Way better places to go

This is the furthest gun store from me, I bought my first gun from there (Glock 43). It was well worth the travel, the staff is tremendous. I ordered from their website and it was immidiately ready within a day because Glocks are popular. I know about guns but not about ammo, the clerk helped me choose the right self defense ammo (Federal HST Law Enforcement 9mm Luger). The prices are unbeatable Im happy with my purchase, I will be traveling here all the time for my future FFL transfers and purchases.

I recently purchased a brand new firearm here and the overall experience and process was simply awesome. The shop was easy to get to and even the drive and surrounding area are pretty scenic. The humble brick and mortar shop itself is a small single room setting with a modestly standard selection of firearms and accessories on the showroom floor. I dealt with Max for the entire process and he was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and professional.The atmosphere of the entire store is very warm and welcoming, and the entire staff is easy going but still attentive. They have an excellent website where you can shop through their full offerings ranging from a wide assortment of pistols, ARs, NFA Class items, and everything in between. I used their website first and then went into their store since I like dealing one on one with people on such things as firearms. I ended up purchasing a Glock G19 Gen 4, after handling the Gen 3 models in store. The firearm itself was not immediately available, so they placed an order which arrived in about 3 days. If its not in stock they can definitely have it ordered and ready for pickup in a phenomenal amount of time. Background check went smoothly and again Max was excellent with the customer service throughout the entire process including calling promptly when my purchase arrived.I went through the standard weapon checks to ensure the firearm was in order before completing the transaction, purchased some white box ammo for the range, some critical duty ammo for the home, and was out the door.I will definitely go there again for my additional firearm needs, and based on the other spectacular reviews from customers and a prominent/popular online gun shop, will use them for any future FFL purchase/transfers.Overall highly recommended and definitely worth the travel for just the customer service alone.

Tranfer fees are some of the cheapest in the philly area. Plus a discount if you are military.Prices are fair, especially on ammo. And staff are super friendly. Family run buisness. They do some light gunsmithing too (sights triggers polishing etc). Great group of people to do business with.

Tl;dr: sold me a broken rifle and took almost a month to get a functional one back.Purchased an ar15 from this place in late October before the election, I went in with the intention of picking up a name brand ar but was convinced by the salesman in the store to try an off brand that Id never heard of.(my first mistake)Its been almost a month and I still havent fired the weapon. As soon as I got it home and field stripped it to check the BCG/do some dry fire I noticed that the weapon was firing while on safe which is obviously a huge malfunction.When I finally got the time to go back to the shop and talk to the guys about this, the previously kind personable salesman suddenly acted as though I was inconveniencing him and lying about my issue, that somehow I had broken the safety on the rifle despite never touching the lower receiver.They wouldnt try to fix it in the shop and said if they did it would cost me, so they shipped it out to the manufacturer. Keep in mind that they sold me a defective rifle that I never got to shoot once, and that they clearly never function tested.Over 3 weeks later the rifle magically turns up (fixed) at their shop despite them telling me that the rifle is with the manufacturer in Florida on the same day that I pick it up.I had heard mixed things about the service here but the consensus was generally positive so I trusted the guys at the store way too much which was my mistake, I should have function tested it before I walked out day 1.Your mileage may vary but I wont be heading back here any time soon.Update: I took my rifle to an actual gunsmith who confirmed my suspicions, the rifle has misplaced springs in the trigger assembly and parts that clearly dont match. This is not a factory rifle and was likely made up of spare parts. This place is a chop shop.

I have lived in the neighborhood for years and probably drove past the place two or three times a week but never stopped to check out the place. One day I ordered an AR lower and had to find a licensed firearms dealer to make the transaction. The company, where I ordered the lower, had a search function on their website for licensed dealers near my zipcode. I made the entry and New Frontier Outfitters was on the top of the list.I called the store and talked to one of the employees. He could not have been nicer or more helpful. He walked me through the process and ensured me it would be painless. After making the online purchase, I called back to inform the employee at New Frontier Outfitters thst my lower was being shipped. The employee took my name and telephone number and told me he would call as soon as the lower arrived. A few days later they left a message on my phone and I picked up my lower.The first time walking into the store it was like that scene from the TV show Cheers, the employees literally yelled out greetings as I entered. It immediately put a smile on my face. The transaction and the paperwork was flawless and painless. I immediately noticed that the staff at New Frontier Outfitters were almost falling over themselves trying to make sure that the customers were satisfied with their purchases...they [the staff] couldnt do enough.It was somewhat crowded on my first visit, which gave me an opportunity to observe and take in the atmosphere. It reminded me of the family owned stores I use to go to as a kid...I am in my 50s...and that is how the employees treat you; like an old friend coming to visit.Since that first visit, I have made over ten purchases of guns, rifles, and ammunition and there has NEVER been an issue. Now there are times that I stop in just to ask a wuestion about a particular firearm or what I should be looking for in my next purchase. Then there ate times when I stop in just to say hello and see how everyone is doing.To the ladies reading this post, let me assure you that this is not a guys only type of establishment. The ladies are treated just like like; ladies. In fact, the wife, and co-owner of the store would not alliw it to be any othet way. I frequently stop in with my wife and my five year old granddaughter. She has made a few purchases too...my wife not my granddaughter...at least not yet.New Frontier Outfitters will always be my go to location.(Please forgive the big post and any gammer or spelling errors...but you have to stop in and experience the atmosphere for yourself. I guarantee you will not be disappointed!)
