Locally sourced food. Eco-friendly. AND delicious! My breakfast sandwich was full of flavor and the fresh brioche was so soft. I would highly recommend the chai. It was super spiced and earthy with hints of cardamom and turmeric. Yum!The staff was wonderful and made you feel like home. The owner was very friendly!
I love the sustainable clothing idea! A limited stock but, the options were wide in variety, and appealing. Because of their good quality, the clothes are- expensive. $68 for a casual button up is alot, even for an average middle class consumer id imagine. Keep in mind prices change, so Id hop by anyway to see if something is within your budget.
One of my favorite spots for breakfast! Unique place; delicious and healthy food too! Never had a bad meal here.
Love their clothes and gear so I had to visit while in town and had breakfast there twice.
Moved to this neighborhood after visiting United by Blue (Pre-PLANdemic). Ithe vibe was right. The vibe is now anti-social but still good coffee. Ask for the Mocha Latte with Almod milk and Coconut. Its pretty good. The people arent bad at all. Despite the weird anti-social atmosphere promoted by the staff. 🙄 The staff are still good people and very nice. United by Blue is a chain store I believe but the staff make it feel unique.
Havent had a food because I waited 40 min for my food still havent received it yet...Terrible hipsterish attitude towards work...Don’t recommend, unless you dont value your time
Amazing upscale coffee spot. If youre in the need for a java fix & near 2nd and race, its worth the trip
FWIW Tues 3:30pm 3 separate groups of shoppers standing outside disappointed by your hours.
The food is amazing... fresh and flavorful. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Always a great experience!
I love this coffee shop so much. Just one suggestion: it would be good to have lip sealed in this pandemic period, especially for delivery orders.
Incredible store with a great mission. Their clothes are high quality and sustainable, and they had great sale prices. Their retail staff and their cleanup staff are extremely friendly and easy to work with. Their flagship store has delicious food and coffee and a nice atmosphere for hanging out or working. I really appreciate locally sourced, sustainable goods from an organization that gives back to the community. 👍👍
Fantastic place. Very cozy interior and they also sell high quality camping clothes/equipment. Best oat milk latte in the city. The breakfast food is also organic and tasty. I think the staff does a great job!
This is the best cafe in Philly by far! Every week I look forward to weekend so that we can come here have a cosy and healthy breakfast, then continue with coffee - either with laptop or a book. This will be the first place i would go when indoor cafe are open again after covid...The outdoor seating is not very usable right now because of these annoying spotted lanternflies... i don’t know what but there is something there that attracts them. Around the cafe is surrounded by them. Yes they are found in other places but not as much as this place. Every weekend we go and check but those flies are still there so we have to go somewhere else :( they should do something to get rid of them. Please do, we missed you!
Delicious food, very good quality espresso, beautiful space. They really did a great job with this place! Its a little odd to have a clothing store be the other half of the space, but somehow it works. personally I prefer their breakfast/brunch menu to the lunch, but both seem pretty tasty.
This place really is one of the best stores in Philly. Essentially every item they carry is not only very high quality but stylish and fun. It is not cheap but 100% worth it. I purchased some of the Buffalo socks and gloves and I must say they are probably some of the best of both Ive ever used. Highly suggest getting them. The the cafe is nothing to laugh at either. The service is quite good and the roasts are excellent. Really well done layout.
Great coffee, food, people, and atmosphere! Went to a really cool cupping where you learn how to test taste different coffees. Also a great place to study and get work done. Always smells like fresh pines, and filled with daylight from the huge floor to ceiling windows. The menu has great seasonal options. ..and yes, they will change out the bagel in the breakfast sandwich with pancakes... gold stars in my book. Cant wait to go to one of theyre clean up days and help keep plastic out of our waterways!
I think I found my new favorite coffee place. It was delicious! I also was happily surprised with the menu, which I did not know they had before going. Their yogurt platter was amazing with fresh fruit and jam. Totally going back!
They are actually dog friendly. Like, you are always cool to bring your dog, its not that they just look the other way.Great options for different diets. The river hash is solid and filling, great morning staple. All of the gear is decidedly premium, youre paying for both the thing and all the social considerations that come with it - so keep that in mind.Big cookies here are exceptional.
This place gets five stars for the way it looks. Gorgeous decor. The food not as good as I hoped. The coffee and atmosphere make up for it. I will be back as I really enjoy how it felt in here
Food is always fresh and everything I’ve had here has been delicious
This is one of my favorite coffee shops to study/work because of its atmosphere, lots of outlets, and space. The restaurant over-performed from previous location. I, however, do not quite enjoy their food as I would love to. The menu offers a good variety but quality of the food needs improvements. For instance, a little bit of sly and pepper in my omelette wouldn’t hurt. The menu is expensive for what it actually is.
Coffee is good but I was also very pleasantly surprised that they have great food selections too. Foragers salad was perfect. +Nice view of the bridge. +tons of doggos milling about
The attitude of the staff here is really just unbearable. I’ve given it multiple tries and every time they have huge chips on their shoulders. Customers shouldn’t be made to feel like they are an inconvenience, especially when there are so many good local places in the vicinity. Two stars because the clothes are nice and the drinks are good—even if served with a side of eyerolls.
Love their coffee and kitchen here. I have yet to explore their store. Great place to study or post up with a partner. They are service animal friendly here.
Cool place. Awesome concept, removing a pound of trash per ever item purchased. Items are pretty expensive though! The food is really yummy, I recommend the squash soup.
I was out of town working in Philly and this place brought me back to life each morning. Its easy to find and once you’re inside it makes you want to stay a while. The staff was energetic, friendly and also able to fill me in (no pun intended) on details about how certain offers on their menu are traditionally prepared.I delighted in their Nicaraguan brew but my most notable favorite here is the cold brew. This was my first introduction to cold brew coffee and United by Blue has made me a HUGE fan!Their food menu offers up items that have a homemade feel to them. The Red River Hash was my go to.All in all, prices are reasonable, the people are very inviting and the products they offer are far above average. Apple/Samsung pay is also available.
I ordered the antioxidant smoothie bowl and was blown away. It was flavorful, fresh, and just divine. I will definitely be back for this item.
Cozy spot to hang out, I really like the atmosphere. haven’t tried much on the menu but everything sounds delicious!
United By Blue sells a quality coffee paired with quality outdoor goods. Their well-balanced ice coffee is cold brewed and is worth the trip by itself. Its a very quiet, folksy cafe and a great place to review any work or read. Their clothing and outdoor gear looks very well-made, but its extremely expensive. Definitely worth their mission though.
Love this place. Great clothing that is for a great cause. Their warehouse sale is incredible and has made me buy more stuff from their actual store.
Great vibe, perfect place to meet/study, the staff is super nice, really fair prices for coffee and food. Everything Philly Muffin (like a cross between an English muffin and a bagel) egg & cheese is my go to! The eggs they use are actually real and fresh too.HUGE PLUS: Dogs are allowed! If you want to sit with your pup, you just have to be at a table before the big blue pole (so just cant be next to the kitchen).
Love their food especially the sandwiches. The bread is so good!
Eclectic collection of quality goods. Delicious food and coffee served by fun people. For those willing to pay a little more in order to fuel the powerful mission behind the brand.
This store is definitely the place to go for anything hiking related! They also have a really awesome coffee bar that also serves smoothies!
My first order never made it (they also didn’t ship it until several days after the order was placed). As such it missed my anniversary. Being that the cause is a good one, and one my fiancé is passionate about I reordered (they could not recreate my order to create a replacement one). As I write this I’m waiting for my second order, which was shipped 4 days after the order was placed and has missed the projected arrival date.
Great food. Excellent conscious minded apparel. Love this place!
Great selection, ambiance and vibe, and feels good to support a sustainable business in Philly.
Really like what they did with the new store in the Bridge Building on Race Street. I havent eaten anything more substantial than a bagel and coffee at the cafe, but Im looking forward to trying a sandwich for lunch.
Last week when I came here my BEC bagel was delicious, same with the iced chia latte. But I just got an iced caramel latte today and its gross. Its warm, only 3 iced cubes (um what?) and it is WAY too sweet. I cant stand inconsistent service.
The products from UBB are awesome. Good quality, good variety, sustainable. Even better they say they’ll pick up a pound of trash forever item purchased. The problem is they still send out monthly catalogs when you haven’t asked. And they push consumerism.Catalogs: Yes, they are on PCW paper. Still, it is a waste of paper and creates more trash in our landfills and waterways.Consumerism: UBB hosts deals where you can get 10 t-shirts for $100. This is encouraging consumers to buy more, which will one day lead to more waste. We do not need all of these products. Sure here and there you need a few new t-shirts, but creating this types of deals encourages consumers to buy more then they need in order to get the deal. Yes, it will make UBB a profit, but is it good for the environment?Come on UBB I want to like you so badly, but you keep disappointing me.
Came here to eat at their cafe with my family. Beautiful atmosphere and the service is genuine and friendly! The coffee is reanimator I believe so it was on point! I also enjoyed a Philly Muffin which was delicious! Then afterwards we strolled through the store and did a little shopping. It was an amazing time!
Proud to call this place my local coffee shop!! Great espresso drinks and food!
Outdoors clothing retail and coffee shop that is doing good work for the environment!Pleasant & friendly, inviting staff! Great coffee and brunch.
Very cool products and aesthetic. Its a great place to get great small gifts or clothes for an outdoorsy friend. I had a chai latte, but it wasnt my favorite as I prefer mine to be sweeter rather than savory.
Quaint Little Cafe/Coffee Shop with dash outdoor clothing, gear and accessories.
The new location is awesome. The food is good, the clothes are cool, though overpriced. The wifi is a disaster, I consistently leave to go to Starbucks because I cant maintain a connection.
Having had such a great experience at United by Blues University City location, I found myself in Old City one afternoon looking to kill some time, so I stopped by their Old City location. This one is spacious and welcoming with friendly, enthusiastic staff. In addition to the coffee, sandwiches, and baked goods, the shop is well stocked with eco-friendly gifts from camping gear to clothing and accessories. Not to mention the cafe is dog-friendly--another patron let me pet her dog (a very sweet, friendly golden retriever who was eager to give me kisses! I have a soft spot for doggie kisses!). Since I wasnt incredibly hungry, I settled on one of their hand-pumped donuts and I was pleasantly surprised by it--not overloaded with too much cream yet just the right amount! Will definitely return on a future venture into Old City!
Really good cofeee. I loved it. Will visit it again. I also like the ambience and seating place with cute apparal shop.
A great place. Cool clothes and excellent breakfast and lunch stuff. Cant go wrong.
Love the coffee, clothes, and gear. I wish I had it all, but its out of my price range! 😭
I want to like this place but Ive been here like 4 times and everything Ive gotten has been less than mediocre. Tea, coffee, latte, etc. Wife likes the chai so gets a bonus star for that plus its dog friendly and the staff are great always good conversation. Too bad about the coffee, their clothes seem of good quality I cant say for sure as Ive never bought them.Edit:Coffee: Finishes super acrid, the bean was roasted at too high of a temp either at the end or the middle of the roasting process. This flavor was present in the flat white, the drip, and latte I tasted.Dairy Products: Top notch, you can really taste the quality.Tea: upon further introspection, its really good tea I just dont like it. The hibiscus was too forward and sharp, It couldve been steeped for less time, a dash of simple syrup wouldve probably fixed it but I had already left the store. I had the red one I think it was hibiscus, I could be wrong.
Great food, wonderful space. Such awesome products. Well definitely be regulars.
Marvellous coffee and an outdoor shop (which makes me want to have it all!)
Great place to get work done and browse outdoor wear. Love the sandwiches!
Clothing store and restaurant, environmentally conscious, proactive and actively helping to clean the planet.
I havent bought any of the clothing here, but it seems both very well made and not cheap (they have pretty frequent sales, though!). The food and coffee, though, is very good! They have these cronuts that are to die for, and the lattes are reliably smooth and delicious. I miss their old location on 2nd street, but its all good.
This is a great spot with good coffee and an even better message. This is a really good store that matches its Mission with its commercial aspirations.
Absolutely love the vibe of this spot. Coffee is pretty good and the food is a great option if youre in the neighborhood and looking for a healthy quick bite. Also the gear there is awesome. Its like a sophisticated REI or outdoorsman store with a city feel.
They have good products, just need friendlier faces at the register. No smile, no hello, no thank you = no Bueno
Tourist that Stumbled upon this place early Sunday morning walk - so glad I found it. Friendly, great food and coffee and neat surroundings- love it
This was such an awesome little concept! A clothing store + a Café. The perfect place for a fancy first date or to do a little catching up with an old friend. We had such a good time, I had a mocha, she had an amazing latte and we shared a cronut (a cross between a croissant abdominal a donut! ). The shopping was hipster meets outdoor adventurer! Some of the best quality canvas bags Ive seen and priced really fairly. Great knickknacks and keepsakes to compliment their rugged outdoorsy clothing line. The only drawback was that there were about 8 rather large flies buzzing about. The place seemed extremely clean otherwise but yeah... flies. Otherwise, really great place to go relax, grab a coffee or tea and do a little shopping. Would definitely go again.
Clothes are warm, comfortable and fit well. Sales people are friendly and helpful.
I love UBBs products. It was great to be able to go in and check their stuff out that Ive only seen on their website. They have a little of everything from their site. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Right next door to Elfreths Alley, one of the oldest streets in the US.
The atmosphere was very inviting. Coffee shop was a nice addition to having a store up front.
Nice place to sit outside, food was good too.
Always nice employees, great little shop too, but not enough seating nor a true coffee shop environment. Its really a shop and should own that a bit more. I always prefer ici or menagerie nearby. Meadowsweet nearby has a coffee bar now that is more successful as an addition to a clothing store - this feels like it imposes on the clothing.
Go for the goods. Go for the spectacular coffee!
Ordered 2 items online from this store. One of the items was the wrong color. The other was an item I had ordered, but it had a very poor fit compared to the tagged size and there was no other suitable size to exchange for (the smallest size they sell was way too big).Even after an interaction with customer support, I was forced to pay for return shipping. Its too bad, the quality of the garments was OK, but if anything goes wrong, in my experience you will be left footing the bill.
I was very unimpressed with this place. Given the ridiculous prices of this establishment I was incredibly disappointed with the quality. I will certainly not be spending my money here again. There are far better, more reasonably priced places for me to spend my money.
Good customer service but the return and replacement policy for the gear is not great had a vest for less than two months tried to return it because of malfunction and they would not accept it.
Food was good, but a little pricey for the offering. Get the oatmeal!
While a limited menu, the food that is on there is awesome!
They always have fantastic deals my favorite store in Philly
Very nice and ecological place. Coffee is great, as well as pastry!
I am a regular, customer service is amazing. I recommend a visit.
There were cool bags and nice pancakes
Great breakfast and coffee and good vibez
Great coffee and pretty good food. Cant speak for the clothing.

Excellent specialty omelette!!!
This is a hidden gem! Cool cafe, delicious food and coffee, and amazing array of outdoor gear.
Loooooove this cafe, its vibe, its mission, its coffee and its products! Highly recommend you stop in. Been ordering from their website ever since...
Good coffee. Sustainable goods. Great crew. Noble mission.
Good coffee and pastries, quiet place in the old city.
Really awesome coffee shop, dog friendly. Will definitely come here often.
Beautifully designed space and well made stuff!
Very comfortable place and politics are good
Very disappointed with their products. I purchased a shirt from them and the threads began to rip after the first wash. Their lifetime guarantee only extends to certain bags and jackets yet they advertise the guarantee on every product. Very sketch business model. This is not a true outdoors brand.
Mediocre tea, coffee good, environment nice
Great coffee and sustainable durable goods! This is both a unique store and movement!
Its a nice environment. Lots of sunshine and relaxing area
Restaurant and urban Hiking and Camping store. Great place
Imagine a company that brags about sustainable products but spams catalogs like its 1990.
Good coffee. Friendly workers.
Great breakfast, good prices.
