We started our morning out at this little coffee joint to a nice surprise of fantastic service with a little banter. My partner got a chocolate donut (not made in house) and a chai latte.I on the other hand for the magnificently photographed donut, made in house (I asked). I also got my usual mocha, made amazingly! They also sell some fantastic deli meats, prepared by his friend from New York.The place is very nicely decorated and the has many seating options. The whole experience was fantastic and the coffee was amazing!

I love this little cafe - we have eaten here a few times and they always have a great selection of fresh pastries as well as cool merchandise and large selection of fresh deli meat.I though it was kind of strange to have a coffee shop and deli combo but Bower Cafe makes it work. This time I got avocado toast with bacon. It had too much avocado for liking and the bacon was not well-done but thats on me for not asking. I really enjoyed it despite not meeting my usual specifications.The coffee drinks are great and I will be back soon to see what they have in store!

At first glance it serves a very relaxing aura and that first step insides confirms it. The decor was dope, the walls decorated really cool and the names of both the sandwhiches and drinks forces a yern to read upon you. Everything on the menue is unique to say the least. Patrons ever so peacefully focused and tuned in to their machines. It seemed like a 2 (wo)man ran show and those that were behind the counter that day were the nicest. I love a good cafe, to come here and work ? YES, to eat ? BIG YEAH, drinks ? Its a no for me.

I haven’t been over to Bower nearly enough, but I’m going to change that.The latte is reliably smooth, there are some great pastries and snacks on display, like that lovely donut I tried today. There is also an extensive menu that I haven’t tried, but really want to. And also - the meats and cheeses! So unusual and unique for a coffee shop.The owner seems like a great guy, too. It’s the kind of place you want to support. It’s definitely gotten more popular over the last year, so let’s hope that continues.

Moved across the street recently and this place has quickly become my go to. Great coffee and pastry options. The vibe inside is well curated, and is a perfect spot to go on a date, do some work, or just hang out and drink your cuppa!

Great spot for doing a little work or meeting with a friend to chat over some coffee (and bagels/donuts/toast/waffles/cured meats, etc.) in a nice, tucked away spot. Good, friendly service... And definitely chill out on the back patio on a nice day - totally worth it!

How do you mess up La Colombe? Coffee is terribly bitter. Person working there didn’t know what a savory pastry was. Waited 20 minutes for lackluster toast on store bought bread when no one else was here.

I really enjoyed their Cappuccino, medium with a little honey.

Lovely coffee shop on 10th (and spruce), great backyard space and lovely artwork displayed in different corners of the shop. Surprised to find out theres wide range of selections of cured meat also sold in the coffee shop. Lovely combo!

This place has amazing coffee, cold brew, great pastries, and killer breakfast food. Their breakfast bowl needs to be tried. Also highly recommend their French Toast using challah bread!

This place made me very upset. There was only 1 employee behind the desk and it took them 1 hour to heat up 3 sandwiches. The food was dry and my friend got food poisoning. I am not happy with my experience.

The toast was burnt and the turnover tasted like it was just removed from the freezer. A total waste of my $15.

What a wonderful little neighborhood coffee shop. Cozy, amazing coffee, great pastries and cured meats to top it all off. A great spot for sitting and working, with lots of seating... but also fantastic for just grabbing a latte or cortado in the morning rush. Everyone there is friendly as can be and they always remember my order. I think its worth going out of your way to stop by Bower even if its not your local spot.

I was looking for a location to work remotely since Im out of town. I called Bower cafe and the guy told me he has limited seating due to covid but he can get me seated. I finally arrived after a 40 min drive. When I talked to the guy in person he told me I have to buy something every 30 min for the duration of my stay. Thats ridiculous, and extremely greedy. I dont typically leave reviews but you dont deserve the high rating and people should be aware of your mentality.

Hidden gem. Fantastic breakfast food and coffee. Very high-quality meats, but there are vegan options for your lattes if you’re into that.

Wow! What an amazing place! The cured deli meats are high quality, and the open faced sandwiches are scrumptious. The coffee is very good, not too bitter and made fresh. My latte was creamy and well made. The owner puts so much work and care into this coffee shop and it shows. There’s plenty of seating in this coffee shop especially if you need to do work on your laptop. We sat in the outdoor area in the back where there is a large table that would be perfect for a large party to have a quick brunch and coffee, and there was a smaller table for more intimate occasions. What a wonderful experience, we will be back!

Great place to study and good drinks

Great coffee experience. Everything is fresh and clean. High quality food and full flavor drinks at a reasonable price. A true community cafe. People engage one another. This atmosphere is a result of the owners mediation. The first priority is not about the profits the cafe makes, it is providing a service to the community. This is why I live Philly. Hard to find this anywhere else.

Their breakfast sandwich is one of the best I’ve ever had. Bacon, egg and cheese with green onions on a brioche bun. Incredible

My wife and I were in Philadelphia on business recently and found The Bower Cafe for breakfast. She got The Sis and I got The Mikey. The owner creates his dishes for the menu and makes each from scratch with the freshest ingredients. If you’re looking for a relaxing atmosphere to enjoy a gourmet meal look no further. One of Philadelphia’s best. Owner and chef is super.

Best avocado toast ever hands down!

The coffee was enjoyable. The croissants were delicious. Cute cozy shop. There are two front rooms to post up in with a variety of table sizes and heights. The one room was a bit warm, but it was easy to move around the shop to different spots.

Absolutely amazing! Such a cute store and the toasts are out of this world! Mine had peaches and yogurt and some delectable cured meat. It was fantastic!

The name has changed to Bower Cafe under new ownership. It is fabulous! Highly recommend. Great coffee and chocolate chip cookies. They also have Oat Milk (huge plus for vegan/lactose free friends). Perfect place to get work done - great wifi and lots of outlets they also have outdoor seating. If you are into meats he also has a selection of fine cured meats that you can purchase or put on a menu item.I stopped by this place a few days ago and already have gone back!

I visited the Bower Cafe after leaving a 4-day work conference, and it was such a perfect place to decompress after having to work intensively over a weekend. Awesome food, vibe and coffee. Please go visit this place - its awesome!

Its an alright place. The outdoor patio in the back is really cute, but the staff seemed a bit disinterested and not all that pleasant. Overall, the ambiance and coffee was good, but the staff would make me hesitant to go back, especially when there are loads of great cafes in Philly.

Omg, the avocado toast! Cheese melted on toast, a whole avocado sliced, hard boiled egg, and marinated tomatoes. I also enjoyed the hospitality of the owner and his music choices.

The quaint little shop is as good as the coffee and pastries they serve. Theres a nice garden out back for beautiful days and plenty of seating inside. The baristas starting to revamp the shop from older management. He really cares about the quality and the craft.

My partner and I swung by this place and loved the cozy, relaxed environment. I had a chai latte, which was perfectly smooth. My partner had a cappuccino which came in a mason jar. He said that his cappuccino was creamy, and not too bitter.

My favorite locally -owned coffee shop in Center City. The place has a really great atmosphere to match the delicious coffee and food. It helps that the owner is really personable and you can tell is passionate about his shop!
