Great experience! I called and spoke to Will for men’s dance shoes. He ordered an array of sizes for me. Shipping was delayed but Will called and let me know. Then a couple days later Julia called and said the order arrived. I stopped by and what a great team they made. Friendly, personable and very helpful! Best dance store in Philadelphia, huge selection of dance shoes for ballet, tap, jazz and pretty much everything! They also do pointe shoe fittings.Very friendly and knowledgeable on dance wear products and styles, as owners are both dance professionals.They will even ship if we cant make the drive into the city.

I love the store! It has everything you need and you can dream of. The selection is amazing from top to toe! One time I went there to shop for a pair of ballet canvas slipper and it turned into a private fitting.. I wast expected it and I also bought my dream skirt...... Pricing is very reasonable and the professional service is no other stores can compete with, of course, forget about the on line shopping. Im really glad that I visited this store. Julia took great care of me and she really went above and beyond. Julia really knows her stuff as a professional fitter. Very knowledgeable. Pricing is way better than online stores. If you shop here, you wont be disappointed.

Had an awesome experience at this store today. My friend and I had our daughters fitted for dance shoes and the gentlemen helping us was very knowledgable and helpful getting our two toddlers fitted. He helped us to find everything we would need for our first day of dance classes. I definitely prefer to shop local compared to shopping with big box stores and Dancewear on Broad had pricing better than Amazon to my surprise. I would 100% recommend you stop in here before ordering online.

The dance wear on broad carries many varieties of pointe shoes brand and Julie is excellent in helping the pointe shoes fitting. My previous pointe shoes didnt fit me well and i felt discomfort wearing it during the class. Julie helped me found out the most suitable pointe shoes. Thanks so much Julie. Dancewear on Broad saved the day! My daughter and I went to this shop (10.02.20) since she outgrew her ballet shoes, I forgot to order some more, and class is tomorrow. I chose this shop based on location. We went looking for ballet slippers and found a hidden gem. For me, the experience is what sold me. My daughter and I felt welcomed, felt seen, felt heard. We purchased two pair of ballet slippers (1 split sole, 1 full sole). The flesh/coffee colored slippers are the bomb...#lovingthemGREAT customer service, no pressure to purchase other items. Well be back when in need for more items.

Julia is extremely thorough in finding you the right pointe shoes. I never felt like she was pressuring me into a shoe just for the sale, and she even went out of the way for me to obtain a shoe she didnt have in stock. Although not very big, the store has a lot of merchandise to offer! I love being able to support small, local businesses!

The first time I met Julia I was blown away she took her time to find out just what I needed for my granddaughter. Julia made shopping for dance wear easy. So when I had to do it all over again I ran right back to Julia who again save the day for me. She friendly kind and she listens to what you need. She never tries to push items on you that you dont need. This is my granddaughter first time in tap and she made sure I had the right shoes for her age and what shes doing. I will be forever grateful for the time she spent helping me. And yes Im a life long customer as long as she is there.

Dancewear on broad is my one stop shop for dance supplies. Ive purchased costumes, workout equipment and various other items that i use regularly. Their staff is extremely knowledgeable and supportive. They definitely have their finger on the pulse, carrying sensibilities of past and current trends in dance. As a lifelong lover and student of ballet, I was overjoyed and brimming with anticipation at getting fitted for my first pair of pointe shoes. I wasnt able to do it as a child.But, adults are doing pointe more and more.At the urging of a friend whos also my teacher and a retired professional ballerina (who danced with Baryshnikov!) I got a pair of pointe shoes on Amazon a few weeks ago and BOOM! I got onto pointe!! Ankles were STRONG! Was able to hold releve but the fit wasnt right, so she suggested a professional fitting. I waited for this shop to open today, Sunday September 30th. I went to the website, first, to see if there were any special instructions. There were none. I was greeted by a women who asked if she could help me. I told her I would like a pointe shoe fitting. She annoyingly replied I only do pointe fittings by appointment.. and I said Oh Im sorry I didnt know that.. she huffed and said Uh, what kind of shoe do you need? I said I dont know, this is my first fitting.. and she goes Youve never danced pointe before?! how OLD are you? and she gave me this LOOK.. like I was a creature .. like how dare I... And then she said Youre too old Pointe is for 13 to 18 year olds... when the bones are forming.. You could really hurt yourself badly.. where do you take class? I said I dont take class. I do home workouts on my barre. I told her where I was thinking of taking class.. She kept looking at me like I was crazy.. kept telling me that I could really hurt myself.. Had she treated me with a shred of kindness, I would have told her all this.Look I get it. I get that I could hurt myself. And I told her that. I said look Im not an idiot.. and she said I didnt say that.. But you could really hurt yourself. At that point, I said. you know what, Im leaving. Ill take my business elsewhere. I left. The girl then ran outside and threatened to call my teacher at the school i was thinking of going to .. to what.. blacklist me??And thats what I suggest that every adult dancer who wants to try something new. This is not the place to give your business or time.I was judged as soon as I asked for help. I was discriminated against for my age, perhaps my weight too and Im not a large woman. God help you if youre not in shape.Thanks for nothing.Sincerely,A ballet dancer
