I love the variety of locally-roasted coffee beans here, especially available in (Swiss water process) decaf. Super friendly and knowledgeable service. Im so grateful this place is in my neighborhood!
Fantastic establishment. I happened across their shop a few weeks back while visiting the Italian Market and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They suggested the Maple and now I purchase direct from them online. I would highly recommend 9th Street Coffee. Pricing is fair, customer service is great and quality of their products is second to none. Glad that I found this little shop in Philly.
Awesome owners and selection of very unique beans from all over the world
The cappuccino is so rich even with soy milk! There is a crowd here, but still half of these people are working on their laptops. Good mix of social and getting down to work. The lighting is pretty dim but that doesnt seem to bother anyone here. Only thing is that I wish there was more seating...
The mocha java roast is fantastic. Ive been trying to stop in every month to get more. Worth stopping in to.
THIS IS THE BEST PLACE TO GET REAL COFFEE!!!! I have never seen all the best coffee beans in the world in one place. The staff is great and knowledgeable everything is certified organic, sustainable sourced and they are eager to make sure you get what you want. I have shopped many different coffee shops both in the city and online and never before have I had such a great experience. 9th Street Coffee is my only coffee shop. I plan on trying EVERYTHING.
Great place, very informative and helpful. Good quality tea and coffee. And they gave my dog plenty of treats.
Great place! Fantastic coffee and selection, very knowledgeable about the coffee as well. Highly recommend.
Come here on the weekend at talk to the owner.... Most knowledgeable coffee place I ever been too and the widest selection I ever seen... Most underrated coffee spot in the city
Best coffee in Philadelphia
The Tanzanian Peaberry acid free coffee I buy here makes a cold brew so delicious and mellow, its like a delicious dessert. I now brew some everyday for my morning hot coffee too. I cant drink any other coffee now. LOVE this place!
Terrific folks and great coffee - always up for conversation and a good recommendation. I cant believe I walked by without going in so many times.
We stopped by here recently for coffee. Best espresso in the entire trip! A bit pricey but lovely, good & peaceful place to stay for coffee.
Just stumbled across this shop.had a great cup of coffee.took home some Moroccan coffee .it is a must try was extremely happy when i made in french press.will be back often😍😍😍
We are huge coffee snobs and happened to walk into this place by coincidence. Not only we were surprised by the variety of coffee but also by the knowledge of their people. You can certainly buy some of the best coffee beans in the world from this place. Moreover, they are roasters and roast no more than 1 pound of coffee at a time. Which is great, since coffee stays fresh. No one should keep roasted coffee for over 1 week, and they are the only roasters that actually follow this rule. They offer custom roasts as well as their standard selections. You can also have a cup of coffee right there (which is strongly recommended), however you will not find an espresso machine - since all they offer is a good pour over coffee.Ive purchases Ethiopia Geisha ($40 per a little less than a pound), which was more than I would want to spend on a coffee. But few years ago, this coffee was around $300 per pound - so $40 was nothing in comparison.Be careful, since their packaging is not vacuum sealed, and once you get home - you absolutely must move the beans to the sealed storage.I ran this coffee through my espresso machine and was very impressed by a sophisticated and complex flavor. I usually use Ethiopia Yirgachefe and I had a chance to compare the two cup to cup. Yirgachefe is always acidic and has a blueberry aftertaste. Whereas Geisha just hits you with extremely rich, almost bloody flowery taste, that changes as you are swallowing the coffee. I would strongly recommend to try it yourself at least once.I am definitely getting my next coffee from these guys!
We were about to leave the italian market and noticed this place (we were parked right out front). We walked in and met the NICEST people with the best coffee (seriously, bf is obsessed, we will buying more) amazing spices (applewood chipotle for the win) and delicious Olive Oil. HIGHLY recommend. Cant wait to come back!!
Serious coffee and espresso pours. Thats it. Better than bluestone, and less hassle than the big chains. No wifi, just coffee. Oh and its a dive bar after 4.
Love the product & store. Jake is an expert, selection and quality is awesome!
The staff and coffee is top notch. If you want the best coffee in the city along with the story behind the coffee, this small shop is the place to go. Theyve turned me into a coffee snob with their Tanzanian Peaberry, hands down the best cold brew coffee- its so smooth.Blue Mountain is something to try if you want an extra boost in the morning- perfect for those cold winter days where you dont want to get out of bed. My fav so far is the St. Helena Sea Island Coffee- if you cant pick a coffee go with this one.Im sad to be moving soon, but they do offer mail order delivery, which I am def going to hit up when Im not around.Responsibly grown, always fresh, exceptional knowledge and customer service, at a fair price. Happy to have found you guys!
I recently had to switch to tea from coffee and had been just drinking Twinings bags etc. Decided to come here on the whim and asked for tea recommendations, ELended up getting a great black tea and vanilla blend, and learned a lot about my new caffeine fix.
Great vibe here; chill and relaxing, with friendly and quick service.
Always fantastic coffee. No one is better and less pretentious about it than Jake
