Years ago I had an SG rebuilt by you guys and the work you did was amazing. I love the guitar again. I just bought a little, battery powered travel amp that you recommended and it’s an awesome little amp! Way better than I expected. I always have a positive experience at this music store. Knowledgeable & friendly staff too.
My daughters guitar needed a repair. Repair man on sight fixed it in less then 5 minutes. Staff is always Curtiss and super helpful!!!
Fabulous people and businessBeen taken good care of me for a long time. 1st place I go for music needs
Ive bought my wife 2 guitars here and myself a drum kit everyone here are always helpful and ready to answer any of your questions. Thanks for great service guys and gals. yall rock!!!
Nice hometown music store. Just bought a mixer there today.
We here in livin the dream would like to thank the guy at this store for being helpful and accommodating us and putting up with us awsome store awsome people thanks again
Great job excellent service got my speaker back so happy
I brought my Gibson SG to Dave Phillips to remove a broken auto tuner and install conventional Gibson tuning pegs I bought. I was nervous about giving my guitar to anyone but I trusted Dave Phillips and I was not at all disappointed. I have had the guitar back for over a month and it plays great and it stays in tune, which is saying something about a Gibson. Not a scratch on the finish. You can tell these people care. And to top it off they were very compliant with Covid-19 guidelines. Go to Dave Phillips, support a great small business.
As far as purchasing gear, excellent shop. Repairs slow at best. Was quoted a week to 10 days repair time, been two weeks and they say wont be done for another week. Called a few other places all say its a job they can do in a day or two. Otherwise a great place for lessons, gear, or music.
The staff is very knowledgeable and the store has a great selection. The prices are good too.
Best music store by far!Everyone is so helpful.
There costumer service great
It used to be A LOT better. Its gone down a fair amount the past year or two. I dont know whats up, but when ever I go in, it always feels like its closing. Sometimes there rude, sometimes there great. Sometimes they get work done quick, sometimes it takes 3 weeks. I bought one or two guitars from here, one has been my main axe for years, and they completely took care of me. But I tried to buy a tele from here and it was a ghost town, no one wanted to help. Good acoustic room tho, cant complain on that end.
You will find THE BEST deals on Martin guitars at this store, as well as excellent customer service. Nothing beats this place. I got $500 off of a Martin D-18 (which is generally sold at other shops for $2500), and I am so happy with it. The guitar was even set up perfectly! And the guys here are so kind - I started coming here as a very young girl with my dad and they were never condescending, unlike many other guitar store employees Ive met. Theyll answer any question you have, and are willing to talk for as long as you need!
The best in the Lehigh Valley. You can tell that the staff actually want to help you instead of just up selling. No rock and roll attitudes either like some other places. Knowledgeable and friendly!
Better than guitar center
Ordered my son’s saxophone for his birthday through Dave Phillips. Staff spent time answering many questions and exploring the proper model to purchase for an intermediate level player. Saxophone was at the store before the promised date. It was checked for leaks, tuned, and keys oiled before I picked it up. My son is pleased with his new instrument that plays much better than his beginner saxophone, and I am pleased with the customer service that even included a follow up phone call to check on our satisfaction. Recommend Dave Phillip’s music to anyone needing an instrument. There is even a repair person on site 2 days per week.
Kindly answered my questions and didnt push a big sale. They helped me get exactly what I needed.
They did not fix my instrument after having it for 3 months without telling us it was done. They had to then send it to the manufacturer because it was am issue with manufacturing. They told us my instrument was in perfect condition but once it got to the manufacturer it seemed to be damaged all by me when I didnt even have it. After being told we got a new one and to stop working on it they continued to work on it and theyre trying to charge us for the repair they did on it. Theyre also trying to keep my instrument so they can possibly fix and sell it! 100% do NOT recommend this company !
Great service from friendly staff, many thanks!!
They have it all, if youre a musician..
I had my violin tuned and given a once over great Service.
I used to love this store and had done business here for years, but my experience today has moved me so much that I felt inclined to go out of my way and write this review. Needless to say, I am never returning.I decided to make the half hour drive over to see about selling some music equipment. I carried an amp and some auxiliary percussion items inside, with even more stuff still in the car. I tell the guy at the counter (wish I had his name) I have all of this to sell, as well as some other equipment in the car. Give me a second and Ill go grab it while you check these things out of which his first response is Well I cant write a check for you today. He then proceeds to briefly glance at the amp and other items and say I dont want any of this.Excuse me? How is that a proper way to treat a customer? He did not bother to even test the amp or inspect it, let alone anything else I brought in. I had not even shown him all the stuff I had to sell that remained in the car, which included a nice guitar stand (holds three guitars), a 10 inch tom drum, and a pair of bass pedals. ALL of this was in good, working condition. And he straight up turned me away. How ridiculous! Thats a great way to lose loyal business in my eyes, and I am not only infuriated, but disappointed that I have to go elsewhere for equipment now. I do not recommend wasting your time here at all.
Great staff and a good selection of gear.
Amazing sales and service. One of the country’s premiere Martin dealers! Owner and staff always giving back to the community. Thank you!!
I grew up in the neighborhood hence Im a bit prejudiced, but they were always the first in the area and still the best.
The staff is friendly, small place but has good inventory, pretty quiet.
Been coming to Dave Phillips since the 80s. They are very very competative with internet pricing, but have far exceeded customer satisfaction you cant get on line. Ive purchased PAs, effects, many guitars and all the necessities. Ive sold gear through them as well. If this place ever closed it would be a horrible situation for the local musicians. Walked in at 11:00am on a Wednesday with a Taylor guitar that needed a neck adjustment. Claimed it would be great to have by the weekend for a gig, but I wasnt expecting it as their tech comes in randomly. They had it up and running within 1.5 hours so I was able to pick it up the same day, with plenty of time for the strings to settle. Love these guys.
Ive been a huge fan of DPM for many years. I used to love their store in Flemington that isnt there any more. So now I drive all the way out to Phillipsburg to go to that store. They are that good that I would drive 45 miles to get there. Lots of reasons for this: the prices that somehow are always cheaper than the big chain stores, their selection, their ability to get things that they might not have in the store that Im interested in, and just as important, their staff is really awesome. They take this stuff seriously and are just as passionate about guitars and music in general as I am. You talk to the guys like Mark and Al and you have guys that make it their business to know about guitars down to every detail. My latest purchase (a Paul Reed Smith guitar) came from talking to Mark about what kind of sound I was looking for and him pointing me to the PRS. And he was right - its perfect - just what I was looking for. And they also helped me sell a couple of other things on consignment to help pay for the PRS. Im a lifelong fan of these guys and this store.
Good guys. Good prices. Etc.
Been going there for years great staff knowledgeable and helpful
Great store to get equipment and help running it.
Great teachers here for instrument lessons.

Classic local music shop.
