I visited optical expressions a couple of weeks ago. Dr Ralston gave me an eye exam and I was extremely pleased at her thoroughness. One of the best eye exams I have had in years. The front desk staff was attentive but the lady who helped me with pricing a pair of glasses had a very abrasive demeanor. I went today to pick up my new contacts and was prepared to purchase a pair of frames I saw at first visit ... but left after she raised her voice to me. This also occurred at my first visit when I had questions.
I have been seeing Dr. E. Wilken for years and she always takes excellent care of my eye health. I purchase my glasses from Optical expressions each time and have never had a problem with them!I only wish they had some more creative options for the frames. More blues, greens, and oranges! 😊
The staff is very friendly, personable and knowledgeable, I always feel like a VIP when I see them. They are on top of their billing and the knowledge of insurance is excellent. Dr. Chacon is very insightful and will break things down for you.
I came here a few days ago, because I was having issues with my right eye due to putting the incorrect water solution on my contacts. Don’t get me wrong they got me in pretty quick. However the Dr wasn’t too informative on the issue I had. It almost looked like he wasn’t too sure himself on how to treat it. I asked him if I could wear contacts and he told me I could try. I asked him if it was possible I also had an infection and he said he didn’t think so. He gave me a prescription for some eye drops and I also asked for a eye glass prescription. Dr could not get the correct prescription for my right eye. At the time I left feeling okay even though I found it to be a little over priced . When I started using the drops he had prescribed me they were making things worst with my eye. It was turning redder and it was burning even more. At that point I just went to the Emergency Room and the ER Dr told me the drops I got prescribed could actually cause more harm than good with the eye issue I was having and that I should avoid at all costs to wear contacts for at least a week. I wouldn’t be so upset except that their service was overpriced and the eye Dr didn’t properly treat my issue and I had to go for a second opinion.
Love the office and all the staff! Everyone is so friendly and helpful, and each time I come in I get great service and a great exam! Dr. Chacon is amazing!
I do not recommend this store due to the rude service and high prices, even though a convenient location.Shame on me for giving this place one more try after experiencing rude service almost 2 years ago. The gal in the front office is extremely rude and even condescending when asking legitimate questions about pricing and pick up options for my kids glasses. Today she was training a new employee and even I felt sorry for that new hire. She was discussing issues with customers to this employee, while current customers could easily hear her sarcastic comments. The eye doctor/partial owner was nice, however I will continue to recommend other options until the front office staff changes.
This is easily the friendliest eye care provider I have EVER encountered.I flew into Phoenix and due to an emergency issue with my contact lenses I had to hop into an optometrists office as soon as I landed.The kind people at Optical Expressions saw me right away and were beyond helpful.I really cant recommend these guys enough!
I am a current client and have been to several other shops throughout the valley and nobody has come close to the level of service, attention to detail, or have made me feel at home like Optical Expressions. The owners are good people that truly care about their clients, they make me feel like family, and I highly recommend stopping by, you will not be dissapointed!
I came to get my glasses adjusted and ended up with broken nose pads. The worst part was she was hoping i wouldnt notice and when i asked what happened she said she popped it. They didnt even offer to replace my special nose pads. Are the people you hire not trained on how to take care of glasses and do what the customer asks. It would take a lot of pressure to pop one of those pads. I think she was playing with it and dug her nail into it. If i could i would give zero stars.
First time patient, getting my prescriptions updated by doing an eye exam. Wait time around 5 mins. The tech was nice and professional. Then I saw Dr. Gabriel who was really cool and had a great sense of humor. She made me feel relaxed and was talking to me like I was a long lost friend. I learned that she came from Minneapolis a long time ago so that explains the friendly attitude. (Yes, everyone from Minnesota is amazing!) The office was clean, and I received print outs for my glasses and contact prescriptions. No complaints.
I recently had a run in with an eye problem known as a corneal ulcer. I made an appointment request and the front desk called me IMMEDIANTLY and got me into a appointment within two hours. At the time I didnt know what was wrong, I just knew my eye was in pain. They office staff was super friendly and I wish I remembered their names but they were super awesome and sweet to me. The doctor, believe his name is Dr. Shapiro, I saw got me in and out in a jiffy, while being accurate and informational! Upon leaving, I left my special pink cup there and they made sure to call me and hold it for me in their office, they even washed it for me! I LOVE love love this office and Ill definitely be coming to them more.
I am so pleased with this office. Im wearing my new contacts now, and theyre so comfy, and I can actually see. The office people are very nice. Highly recommend

After doing business with this company for ten years,I ordered new glasses and they forgot the transitions, . Which I order every time!So they want to charge me $400-$600,extra?This company is a rip-off!!Staff should work at Walmart,poor customer service, overpriced, will never go back and will write poor reviews everywhere possible!!

I have never written a negative online review before, but my experience at this location has been so terrible, that I thought I should save the rest of Phoenix the trouble of going here. DO NOT GO HERE! I am generally an understanding person when it comes to customer service. I get it, sometimes there are situations out of your control. In this case, I have had several negative experiences and my patience/understanding is gone. I went in to get my glasses prescription and glasses as a new patient a month ago. I STILL DO NOT HAVE GLASSES! The appointment went well. I was told my glasses would come in 7-10 business days and I could pick them up. I called at 9 days (I was eager) and they assured me that they would call me when they were in. They seemed aggravated that I was calling. At 12 business days (almost 2 weeks later), I called- at the end of the day- and they said, why yes, they are in. No call, but whatever, I go and pick them up. I get there and they are understaffed. The only optometrist there has to leave for a family emergency... fine. She rushed me through the fitting and had me try on the glasses over my contacts. I get home and try on the glasses. I cannot see. The prescription is clearly incorrect. It is dangerous for me to wear these. I call and say that I need to come in. Fine. I do. I get there and they act like I am just whining about the glasses and even ask me if I remembered to take my contacts out before putting my glasses on. They, at last, after I persisted, they checked the prescription. The optometrist had written it down incorrectly. They were the wrong prescription. He apologized profusely and I was going to give this business one more chance. I asked that once the glasses came, if they could ship them to me because I did not want to have to go there a FOURTH time. They said of course! I and thought, okay, they are trying to make this up. Then, almost 2 weeks later I get a call saying that the glasses are in but they are going to charge me a $15 fee to ship them. At this point, I have no more patience. I will go in there tomorrow to pick up my glasses and I assure you I will never go there again.
Front desk lady are so rude!! Confirmed with my insurance they were in network all 5 of their doctors are in network and the front desk girl was to lazy to do her job and verify any sort of insurance! Wouldn’t even bother seeing me or verify any information. WILL NEVER GO HERE!
