Great place to go. I usually go to get something to eat as the 3 entree deal is great. I usually have enough for lunch and dinner. I have also found meat and other things I cannot find elsewhere. Definitely worth a visit.
This place is HUGE!! So much to see and explore. Yes I know its a grocery store but it is awesome!! I was there for an hour the other day just looking at everything. From the variety of fruits of veggies to the live fish! I never knew there was so much! The only thing was the smell if the fish! It is very powerful and overwhelming. But, what I bought I used to make pork egg rolls and they were great! The ingredients were fresh and tasty!! I also sliced some carrots and fried them too. So good!!
Absolutely enjoyed walking through this market. Im visiting from a small town, and wanted to try and place out like this to experiment new things. Big place, lots of variety, sweet and friendly people and staff. Picked up some fresh made spicy tuna sushi rolls and the sweet lady behind the counter said thank you and I thanked her. Definitely recommend this place.
Great Asians Store lots of variety products from different Countries, It is very popular among Asians! They serve food lunch and dinner! You can dine in, after shopping! Highly recommended! As always I buy more than I need!!! My favorite Asians Store! 👍👍👍
I absolutely love this place! I was in the plaza one day in Pinellas Park and was just looking around while my husband was handling some business in the shopping center, I first was walking past it and then the picture of the dragon fruit caught my eye. I decided to go inside and have a look around and see if there would be anything available that I would want or need, to my surprise they had a ton of amazing items dried and fresh herbs teas, cooking utensils, a place that even served hot food, mind you the hot food was very very very good. The manager was very helpful even took time to go through the different items with me was very upfront and honest and didnt try to oversell me something that I didnt need so it wasnt about the money it was about the customer service and providing the things that I would actually need. I love how they have everything organized the aisles are very spacious so you dont have to worry about running your car into someone else, plenty of people in there both black white whatever. The cashiers which I have my one favorite are very helpful and honest overall its a place where I would definitely definitely feel comfortable with taking my family or if Im in the area just stopping by and making a purchase just because I know that I will be getting something good for my home and my family as well as our health. I have since been back one other time and I plan on many future trips!
Wow what a great experience. I loved all of it. What amazing selections and great staff. Thank you!
Never even knew this place existed, walked in and the place smells great, and is very clean first off. The staff seemed very friendly and the prices are extremely reasonable, you can also buy in bulk there which is super convenient. I would suggest at least checking the place out if you are in the area, well stocked and a wide variety to choose from and also fresh seafood, packaged or live!!
This place need to teach their cashiers to greet & thank their customers. The one in the Customer Service Counter, the young voluptuous girl is unfriendly, impatient, rude & she has no patient towards the elderly who move a little slower than she wants them to. She is unpleasant & should not be in the customer service counter.
Great Oriental market! They have awesome hot meal and live seafood selections.
Everything is good, except for sushi. Not tasty.... no fresh.
The hot food section has some really tasty items! Very comprehensive grocery store, and loved their frozen section. No scallions, though, that I could find.
Lots of selections, always clean, friendly staff and delicious hot meals and baked goods. Especially the coconut shrimp. My boyfriend and I love this place.
Great market, but I found a little cheat. The worst things smell the better they taste that’s why now when I go to the regular grocery store I make sure to get the expired milk so it adds more flavor and texture! Yeah it may smell bad but it’s a trade off for flavor. See milk in the boring form doesn’t have any flavor (ask any milk expert) it’s all an illusion but like if you make your milk expired than BAM! FLAVOR!
Live seafood. Hot meals. Exotic meats. Yummy veggies. All the spices you could ever need.
This place is rad! Ive always been interested in various Asian recipes and this place has ingredients from many different regions. The language barrier is somewhat mitigated by the English on the price labels, and everything is well organized. Its a large store with an impressive mix of fresh and packaged foods. Now I can finally try to make Mapo Tofu at home, or experiment with a new recipe without worrying about how to substitute the various ingredients local to that region.
They have an entire aisle of different kinds of noodles from all over the world, and an incredible selection of foods that you won’t find anywhere else. Also: $3 for a whole pork tenderloin. Amazing!
The best Asian market Ive ever been to. Clean, no foul odors, wide aisles. The only one close to as nice Ive been to is Seafood City in Chicago. But this is nicer. Puts the MD in Tampa to shame.
First time visiting. Very impressive selection of oriental foods. They have live seafood, mostly crabs. And they serve food inside as well.
This store has wide selection of Asian food, fresh bake hot off the oven bread, hot meal to go, fresh seafood, meats and all kinds of spices .We love going to this store in Pinellas. My daughter enjoy the wide selection of snacks it’s like a candy land to her.The staff are friendly and helpful. It’s our favorite Asian store in Tampa area.
Large but slightly more expensive than other Asian markets Ive frequented. Also, could not find four of the items needed... Would have normally been found in other Asian markets... Simple, normal items. Good fish options.
This is one of my all time favorite places to visit hands down im never disappointed!!! Theres so much to choose from and so many brands & flavors! Do yourself a favor just go and dont eat b4 go because they have the best deli bakery seafood dept & produce depts, too.
MD has so much variety. I am always looking for new fresh fruit and vegetable choices to add to meals and am pleased with their store. The variety of frozen dumplings, snacks, noodles, rice, sauces etc is amazing. The sushi is great for quick meals when there is no time to cook. The bakery cakes are art. The prices are excellent. They are still using precautions regarding COVID-19 and remain one of my favorite places to grocery shop.
Really cool place to find new things to try, so many amazing selections. I love their different type of teas and Japanese soda drinks! Their ice cream to is very good, personal favorite is ube or green tea ice cream 🍦 it’s so delicious 🤤 definitely check this place out!!
This is our place for exotic or hard to find ingredients. Their hot food and sushi are really good. They have live fish and crabs in tanks at the seafood section of the store. Unfortunately they stopped carrying my absolute favorite snack Id get from there, the salmon roe flavored crunchy triangles (yes it sounds gross but trust me they would be your favorite too). Sometimes I just go there to kill some time and see what cool stuff they have in stock at the time.
I love shopping here. Its really easy to navigate as easy to understand and the store is nicely laid out. I love getting my noodles and rice from this store
Id give it a 5 if it were a little cleaner. Fantastic selection, cant find more with out leaving the county.
First time visit but really impressed with the selection of everything. We started making sushi at home and found everything we needed in this one place. Will be returning soon.
Awesome Market. All vegetables you need you can find there and organic fresh. Delicious desert and any kind of tea or coffee to make at home. Even fresh delicious cook food. I recommend 100%
Its always good coming here seeing a fresh selection of produce and vegetables at very reasonable almost unheard of prices, also a vast selection of Asian Foods from fresh noodles, Meats, Seafood, chicken, fresh fish, Pastries and Cakes along with hot meals prepared fresh daily! Theres so much to choose from and even non- food items such as plates, silverware and candles. Its a truly amazing place to visit and always fast and friendly or you can take your time and browse up and down every aisle!
Lots of options in a big grocery store of foods you wont find amywhere else. Cakes and desserts, fresh fish. A make your own combo hot food area as well.
Really crowded on the weekend and low stock on some items. Fruit and fresh veggies were really picked over. They do have a huge variety of food! I would say this is the best MD Oriental in Tampa Bay!
Awesome place to find ingredients you normally wouldnt find at your local Publix or Winn Dixie if youre trying to make oriental food. You better be prepared to look around the store for what you need, because not a single soul will help you if youre speaking English.
A very nice, clean, and organized store. Every one was friendly and helpful and they have everything you could possibly need! This place is huge!
The workers there are not too helpful and some do not speak English. However the store itself provides great variety. From produce to pantry items to dishware and pots and pan, they have a cooked hot food section, a bakery section and seafood counter. They also sell beauty products and cleaning supplies. Like an oriental Walmart.
Very neat n clean n very much oriental to mi ....love di food der
Wonderful oriental market, I go with my family and friends all the time, very fun and versatile place!
One stop shop Oriental market. Widest selection in all of Tampa Bay. Hot/cold bar, live and fresh fish, a variety of meat, duck eggs, frozen dumplings, fruits/vegetables, cooking items/dishes, alcohol, just about anything and a bit more.
I love this place! Took my son and granddaughter for the first time. They loved it. And now I need to take out a second mortgage 🤣
Largest oriental market Ive been to outside of San Francisco. Prices are a bit high.
You can find a lot of things not available elsewhere. Prices are reasonable. I went in to look for soy flour. There where at least 2 brands to choose from. I also picked up fancy mushrooms and baby bok choy. Lots of unusual produce is also available.
Love all the options. I go here frequently and love learning more about Asian cooking with all they offer.
This is the third time Ive been disrespected while cashing out. Everytime the cashier says cash, credit, debit? real fast and if you dont answer or say what she says it again real slow and in a condescending tone like Im stupid. I thought I was overacting but she did it to my little sister today and I had to walk out. If that was a man Id be in prison.
I love Asian Markets. This one isnt as big as the ones Im used to in L.A. Or Georgia, and doesnt have huge seafood, produce, and supplement sections, like I like, but it still gets the job done. Most of the spices, sauces, and supplies to craft your own Asian delicacies, are abundantly stocked, the store is clean, and I was happy to be met by that familiar Asian market aroma when I hit the door. Its still one of my Happy places. 😊
Great atmosphere, very helpful too, an they have a wide variety of products... 💘
Probably the best overall Asian market in the st pete/Tampa area. Includes hot food cafe where you can order ready to eat meals. Well priced produce that is all fresh and maintained well. Nice fresh seafood choices as well. Very well represented in thai/Vietnamese/Korean choices. Wish there was an Indian section. Its worth going to whether you are curious or if your native foods are represented
Very good selection! Only issue is the staff at the bakery. The staff used to be very nice and would greet the customers, I went there at around 7:14P on a Sunday (5/30) and a woman with her hair in a long pony tail and glasses was rude to myself and my mom. She saw us looking at the cakes after she was done with a customer and did not even bother to greet us or say “be right with you ma’am! Just ring the bell whenever you’re ready”. As someone who works in customer service, I can tell she is someone who is just lazy and doesn’t know how to attend to customers. I’ve noticed her attitude is the same when she went to serve the customer after us.
Our favorite place to shop. We drive 40 minutes to shop there. Only thing bad was this last visit there. The shelves were pretty much empty. We were little disappointed.
Its a dangerous place if you love Asian food and know how to cook it. Everything exotic!! Fresh seafood and meats, beautiful veggies. Pork belly!! Employees are pretty rude though.
If you want miso the rite way or just a taste of somthing different you found the place
Great source for ready made Kim Chee, Durian, and all asian ingredients!
Great selection of goods. Half of which I dont even know what they are, but thats part of the fun. Still managed to come away with a decent selection of new things to try and an awesome hot lunch.
HUGE market with incredible variety of Asian foods as well as non-edibles, like cooking implements and dishes. I bought a LOT of decorative dishes as presents for family & friends as they are both inexpensive here (less than online, I find) and beautiful. Unusual, too! Perfect for someone when you want to surprise them with something really cool and totally unexpected. Also nice for small gifts. Check it out - its an adventure!
I love this place. I get the most amazing ingredients. Groom fresh Seafood. Cooked Roasted Duck to all things Ramen.
Find all things asian here. Love it!
Fascinating! And I finally found bitter melon in the St. Pete area!
Awesome prices at the butcher. Best deals on meat around and huge variety, including fresh cuts, offal, and live seafood. Hosts a large collection of Asian imported products in addition to East European and Indian. Its an excellent way to augment your traditional grocery shopping with some uniqueness. Hot food is available as well.
This place is always great. Biggest dragon fruit Ive ever seen. All sorts of awesome food, treats, alcohol. Love this place
Fair prices in here, this place has everything I personally needed
A really good Asian food market for plenty of exotic ingredients most franchise stores dont have available. You want the real spices and produce for your Asian cooking right here. It even has a bakery, fresh sushi, and a hot food takeout joint if you want to grab a bite to eat!My younger brothers were so excited in the snacks and ramen aisle. They could not believe the types of ramen and udon brands available that are probably going to ask me to get a care package kit for them this college season!I think the only downside to most new shoppers is the fact that the seafood section will be overwhelming to anyones nose. I will agree that section does smell like you are in a fish market, but seeing those kinds of fresh fish and crustaceans moving in those massive fish tanks. Amazing! You do not see that in any other store!
Very nice Asian super market, the food court staff are super service,I give them 5stars.
Store is good for products but the cashiers are rude. Every last one of them They act as if they dont want to wait on ANYONE that is different from them. May be a culture thing but MD needs to clean it up.
Biggest oriental market in town! They have everything you need from fresh fruits and vegetables to live seafood, bakery for daily fresh breads and cakes to food-to-go, hot cook Chinese food. Wide selection of home supplies, frozen food, grains, wet/dry ingredients. Love this supermarket! Definitely get there before closing as the employees will rush you to the cashier.
I wish I knew more about Asian cooking-so many interesting ingredients, but not sure how to use them!
As a family we LOVE this MD market.Of all of the Asian markets we have been to in the Tampa Bay Area this one is the largest and cleanest of them all. The aisles are not cramped and the store is easy to navigate. They have a great selection of sake, fresh fish, meats, groceries, ramen, teas, candies, snacks, ramune, sauces, spices, and marinades. They also offer great prepared foods that you can eat on site in their cafe seating.
Huge store with lots of asian goodies plus I saw some european stuff as well. Got me a giant sized jar of kimchi probably a gallon or more for $20. Plus a better variety of tofu than your local supermarket. Will be returning here for sure on a regular basis.
I will have to try this spot again. There is great potential and it has so many items that I want to try. The problem was the smell. It might have been an off day, I did notice they had a broken cooler in the produce area (which smelt of sewage). Not sure if it was the cooler or just bad plumbing from the restrooms. The back left has fish tanks for live fish, shrimp, crabs, lobsters and more. They also have many seafood items on ice, which are very smelly. Its fresh, lots of live choices but the water is yucky. The meats vary from pork, chicken (includes feet, gizzards, black skin) to pork, rabbit, goat, duck (including heads and feet), to regular meat cuts. Huge variety for those looking for something different. Now the good. Tons of choices of steamed bun, dumplings, unique drinks, fruits and veggies. Lots of sauces. Mixes and interesting items to try. I purchased some fresh bread, really good and the Taro icecream is amazing (a bit expensive but well worth it). Ill return but will use some nose spray or allergy meds first.
Lots of expired stuffs, cheap and fake goods, disgusting foods, smell meats. some stuff even dont have the producing date. Dont recommend anyone to come, please try other decent stores
Large selection of fresh asian produce; condiments and dry goods; and items for cooking. Largest of its kind in Pinellas with reasonable prices as well.
One of our favorite places for the wife and I to go grocery shopping, she goes every week. Great selection of Asian products, store is clean and very well organized, and aisles are easy to navigate (ie. not overcrowded with stuff). Hot buffet is also pretty good for a quick lunch. Highly recommended!
A whole new experience shopping. Largest Asian market i have ever had the pleasure of shopping at. A weekly shopping trip for our family
The best Asian market around! The selection of exotic fruits is unmatched.
Great big oriental/asian/ethnic market. I havent lived in Pinellas County very long, and have been looking for an Asian market to replace the one in my old neighborhood. MD Oriental Market did not disappoint. They have a bakery, fresh seafood, plenty of fresh produce, as well as all the typical Oriental Market standards of chopsticks, steamer baskets, party favors, really you name it. Will definitely be back and totally recommend.
I love the selection of oriental dumplings, buns, and sauces that go into making curry, Korean BbQ and Pho..its fresh fish and crab are wonderfully priced.
I love their tea selections! As well as various international foods and snacks.
Could not give a fair review, the fish smell was so overpowering soon as I walked into the door. Heard great things about this place but could not stay to see.
FRESH DUCK! We had been looking for a reasonably priced frozen duck ($40!! at one place) when I had the epiphany ~ duck is very common in Asian cuisine, so off to MD Oriental Market we went. What an immense, fabulous store this is! So many foods not found in typical American grocery stores. And we found both frozen and fresh duck, for only $14.99 ~ total! It WAS a bit of a shock to see that it was a whole duck- head, feet and all. We asked their butcher to cut the head off (um, but he left the neck...) and it was the most amazing, tasty roasted deliciousness! Going back for the fresh sushi, maybe dungeness crab and the baked goods are works of art! Also, store appears very clean with good product turnover.
So many great ready made Asian foods & authentic Asian products. They even have Durian fruit! Very friendly staff!
I love the variety of the products. My only feedback is that the meat cooler is not cold enough and theres a strong odor in the store.
We spent 2 hrs in there its like an Asian paradise of groceries!!
