I love brunch. My daughter loves brunch. This place -- we loved. The food is interesting, thoughtful, and delicious. This is definitely not a place where you would go if youre looking for table service -- its very casual, you line up to order, and the food is delivered to your table....wherever it may be. We sat outside, and shared a picnic table with another group, but its all good. I thought it was one of the most imaginative brunch menus Ive seen in years.

Without a doubt this is by far one of the top restaurants that I have eaten at. Its not fancy, but it has a lot of charm and very very good food. Its very small and has the most attractive staff working there. They use the best available ingredients and even grow a lot of what they use. They have berm around for about 18 mounts. Whenever Im in town I make sure to always eat here.

The best vege/ vegan burger I’ve ever had! Went in the Friday evening for fish fry but they just had the vegan burger and I’m not disappointed. This is not the usual burger with an impossible patty, but very flavorful fried veggies with a bomb sauce. Felt like $13 is too much for a burger but it was filling and for that flavor definitely a reasonable price. It’s a cute little place with outdoor dining. Very friendly staff.

Bitter Ends is arguably one of the best spots on the face of this green earth. The food is incredible, the donuts are sublime, the coffee is great, the people are the friendliest youll ever find. There is so much good concentrated in that tiny little shop. I will go out of my way to visit here when Im in Pittsburgh. Keep up the fabulous work you beautiful people.

This is such a cute place to eat! I really enjoyed my food. The only thing is this place is very small inside and with how popular it is, it can be hard to find a place to sit! I think that they should try to expand the place. The food is fresh ingredients and you can tell everything is very clean.

My first time there and I will definitely be back. The menu is huge, the service is great and the food is excellent. Their donuts are amazing! The value is tremendous because the portions are huge. The staff is great. I couldnt believe how great the restaurant is, I expected a long wait and there was no wait.

BREADNow that I have your attention, this place is wonderful. I love breakfast sandwiches, and this place is particularly top notch. The sausage patty is generously sized, and not too chewy. The bread is fresh (they are baking fresh loaves 6 feet away), a little sour for flavor, and not sliced too thickly. To top off the sandwich, the mesclun greens add a wonderful freshness to the sandwich. And of course the eggs are cooked to order. I’d prefer a slice of sharp cheddar too. While pricey and small, the food lives up and I’d love to return.

I would have never stopped in here, if a friend hadnt invited me. I usually skip on these sort of hipster spots, but boy would I have missed out. I ended up ordering the breakfast salad, it is a bit small, but every single bite it delightful. If you are just looking for a breakfast or light lunch, this is a delicious spot to grab your coffee and a must have meal. I will be back.

We sat outside in the sunshine with our dogs. The waitress brought us fresh water for the dogs. Our food came out fast and warm on adorably mismatched plates. The sandwich was delicious, full mostly of pickled cabbage family vegetables, hummus and a runny egg on crispy thick toast. The potatoes were deliciously fried with onions and garlic.

This is my familys absolute favorite spot to eat in all of Pittsburgh! I cannot say enough good things about what Becca has done with this concept both pre and post pandemic. We have eaten here, averaging at least once a week, for almost two years now and I can truly say that every single item weve gotten here has been incredible. Highest quality ingredients, prepared straightforwardly and combined creatively. The staff have always been awesome and the service great. Any weekend without a Bitter Ends breakfast sandwich (and donuts of course) is a sad sad thing for us.

Always excited to come here. The food is simple enough to be ready soon after ordering, but yet with complex flavors and first-rate ingredients, so that even a sandwich becomes an adventure!! Stopped in for breakfast and was not disappointed. I got their take on a sausage egg and cheese sandwich, which was so wildly different than others I had, its hard to compare to others. Fresh greens and the toasted sourdough made it unique and delicious. The space is small, but packed with charm and character to make a fun ambiance. If no seats are available, they do takeout as well. Will be back.

The most amazing breakfast spot in Pittsburgh. This is not Pamela’s and that’s a good thing. Go here for the tastiest griddled sandwiches and baked goods and friendliest service. Pick an eclectic mug and get some coffee and stay a while. There is always a line but it’s worth it.

Going to Bitter Ends is such a treat, especially on a weekday when it is quiet. You can sip your coffee and smell the bread bake and watch the food get made.Everything there tastes delicious but I would recommend the breakfast salad. It’s filling and tastes so good. You can finish your meal off with a donut, if the salad isn’t enough. Can’t wait to go back.

The food here is delicious. The people here are really nice and themselves.I had a traditional eggs and potatoes and was happily eating away while my friend had a zucchini sandwich. Im no big fan of zucchini so I stuck to what I knew. But hot dang was the few bites of that sandwich delicious. I have thirsted for it since and need to make my way back to what Id consider the best brunch place in pgh.The ambiance here is also nice with tables outside and in. And the people working here are refreshingly weird in a way so fitting to Pittsburgh. All the staff was friendly and nice. This place was only a good experience.

Epitome of fresh ingredients prepared simply and competently to let the ingredients shine. This place lives up to the hype.I ordered the breakfast sandwich, chicken soup, and a cup of tea. The pea shoot greens are fresh, and the sunny eggs just delicious. The little bit of grated sharp cheddar added nice dimension to the flavor. I found the bread crust a little chewy, personally, so it was nice to be able to dip it in soup.My husbands french toast was pretty good as well, but its definitely not a traditional french toast. It is made with the same sourdough bread and is more buttery.

Review №32

Went for brunch on a Sunday. My wife and I got two breakfast sandwiches. Food was spectacular and highly recommend trying it.On the other hand, there are two things that we really hated. First, the setup for coffee is just ridiculous. Its all you can drink but you have to go up to the counter each time to get a refill, and if there is a line of people either getting coffee or ordering food you have to wait and it greatly slows everything down. It would be so much easier to just put the coffee carafes in a place that is accessible to refill your mug yourself. Second, the motif of Bitter Ends is hipster hole in the wall diner. One (My opinion) I am over the whole Hipster thing and two, (Also, just my opinion) it just doesnt seem natural. It looks like a hole in the wall, but a very carefully crafted hole in the wall to achieve the right image, which I hated.

I stumbled across this place during some research on donuts in Pittsburgh, and man am I glad I ate here. The place is tiny but I managed to snag a seat by myself at the counter. I started off with an incredible pumpkin parsley donut that was spongy and rich with flavor. The egg and cheese sandwich on toast with greens was salty and eggy and crunchy; one of the best breakfast sandwiches I have ever had. Lots of vegetarian brunch options here. Whatever the donut of the day is, be sure to get it.

I have been a fan of Beccas food for a long time but this is my single favorite place in Pittsburgh now. The fact that they have a farm and really are sustainable while making amazingly tasty food is all you can ask for. The potatos and french toast just make for such a warm and cozy meal not matter when you go. People will complain about price but the quality you get is completely justified for what you get.

Simple, fresh, and good. Their menu is small, as is their space, but its adorable and thoughtfully chosen. I was impressed by the variations thry invented on the same core ingredients--an excellent strategy for a small kitchen using fresh items. We had a butternut squash, crouton, and egg salad; a butternut squash grilled cheese, and a grilled ham sandwich with red sauerkraut, as well as eggplant-walnut spread on toast. Surprisingly, I liked the ham sandwich best; the sauerkraut added a really nice note. You get to pick your own mug when you order coffee or tea, and there are cute little chicken baskets and statues everywhere.

Bitter Ends Garden COULD HAVE BEEN a great first time experience but honestly, the counter girl who is the front of house staff has a very hairy chin.
