The last time that I was in there for a repair, was because my MacBook was having trouble booting itself up. It couldn’t find its boot disk, meaning that it wouldn’t even get past the loading screen for the start up. When I brought it in, I had done some research on the problem and discovered that it was a fault with the macOS. I’m using an older MacBook Pro from the mid 2011 series, because my degree requires me to have certain ports in order to do certain tasks, which the new laptops don’t without having to buy a USB hub, which I ended up having to do anyway because of the amount of tools they have to use for audio recording. Because the MacBook is so old, it only runs up to macOS 10.13 “High Sierra.”However, when I brought the MacBook in for repairs, they claimed that it was a Trojan virus deep in my MacBook. Some thing that got passed my stock firewall, and some thing that antivirus software couldn’t get to. I ended up getting charged $165 for a new hard drive as well as the labor to replace it. Mind you, this is a 1 TB hard drive with a lot of important documents that I had to replace. Fortunately I was able to back most of them up under safe boot. Half of the time, I don’t believe these people know what they are talking about, but being that some of their prices are indeed cheaper than some of the app stores I have seen, I need to go to them anyway. My girlfriend studied computer technologies for a while in college, and learned how Windows computers worked inside and out, and some of that knowledge translates to how the MacBooks work, especially with this scenario. Be careful out there, my fellow classmates.
Ive consulted this store on multiple issues and repairs and never had any problems. A bit pricey but to be expected for a small, on campus shop. They worked on my vintage macbook pro which is something the apple store wont do.
Never fix computer properly had to go back 9 times and still was not fixed properly. The CTS technicians are the most uneducated group you could hire. Dont go there to buy or get something fixed they are a complete rip off.
