After years of great service with Target Optical, tried Visionworks. Pleased with it. The eye doctor was very good and she made me feel comfortable. Aaron was great in helping me choose my frames. He did a great job. They were also helpful when I picked the glasses up. I wasnt that thrilled with the lady who led me to the back and did my eye imaging, but maybe she was having a bad day. After many years of excellent service elsewhere, I experienced similar results here. Good job.
Im leaving this review after I went to the South Hills Village store following a negative experience at the Visionworks in Southland today (where I left a negative review and also contacted corporate about rude service). At South Hills Village, Angel and Cindy were more than helpful and understanding of my needs and concerns. They made me feel comfortable and addressed my prescription issues for my glasses. They also informed me that I didnt even need to have my prescription re-evaluated by a doctor (which Southland told me I had to be) and simply ordered me single-vision lenses to correct the issue progressives were giving me. My visit to this store was effortless and above satisfactory. I highly recommend going to the South Hills Village Visionworks!
Another post regarding their rude and unhelpful staff. Two minutes late to an appointment and they cancelled. Were not willing to ask the doctor if the appointment could still be done. The woman at the front was very short and became upset easily.Save yourself the hassle and go somewhere else!PS the corporate office for compliance and integrity goes to a voicemail.
This Visionworks location is top notch class! All the docs I have seen here are capable, kind and have provided me with excellent eye care. The front staff, wow, best eye care Ive ever received. Colleen and Cindy are amazing and do what needs to be done to put their customers first and actually care about making sure things get done right and go the extra mile to do it. Highly recommend this location.
First time at Visionworks, the staff was very nice and the eye doctor was very knowledgeable and helpful. I purchased a pair of glasses and at no time did I feel rushed or pressured which was very nice considering the large selection they have to choose from in their store. I received my glasses and I am very pleased. Thank you!
I just got back from picking up 2 pairs of glasses and Jamie helped me out both times. She was very helpful both times and made sure I had the right pair for me. She was very patient with me as we went over several adjustments to both sets of frames. It’s great being able to see clearly for the first time in several years!
AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Other than the one man working, the front staff are very rude and not helpful.I went for an initial appointment, was given new contacts with new prescription, I told the doctor my vision was blurry but she would not listen and told me it would be fine and sent me out the door. After wearing the contacts for an hour I had a headache from the blurry vision. So I went back and told them and they told me Id have to schedule a follow up appointment. So I come back for the follow up and walking in 8 minutes late. Get told that there is a 10 min company policy window and Id need to reschedule. (Umm what??? If theres a 10 min window then why do I need to reschedule???). Then after complaining, I get told that the doctor would see me that day but I would have to wait a while and she needed to see all her other patients first.Maybe the doctor should get the prescription right the first time, or at least listen to the customer when they say that its not right. They are very clearly only worried about the quantity of customers they can churn through and not at all worried about the quality of service they provide. I will never step foot in the place again and suggest anyone thinking about going there, reconsider.
Dr. Mahramas was very thorough and helpful in getting my prescription correct. The entire process was also expedient and accomodations were made so that my 2 year old could be with me every step of the visit. My sales rep, Cindy, was also very polite and helpful! My whole visit was very quick and stress free which is always a wonderful feeling. I will definitely be getting my eye exams at this location from now on!
So I have a question. If my eye seems irritated and red. Is the doctor suppose to offer options on how to heal the eye? (Serious question).I had an appointment today for an eye exam. In reality I just wanted a new pair of glasses but I wasn’t able to order the ones I wanted Online for some reason so I was forced to set up an appointment.So of course my one eye is irritated I am assuming from my contacts . Because I will say I accidentally slept with them in one night, a few nights before. Never had this happen. A friend of mine just told me to go to the appointment because they would help with the situation and also I could order my new glasses.Not sure how many doctors that work at this location, but this is an old man. Well I tell him about my eye and he seemed soooooo irritated that I even came into my appointment. I felt bad, so I told him I only came in to order glasses. He was like well I can still do a review but you r prescription will be off. Then he talks about using my old prescription ( which was fine, I just had a appointment 6 months ago). Again I only wanted new glasses. Well he proceeds with my eye assessment. Then he asked so what is the brand of the contacts I use. I told him I wasn’t sure, but that I went to the vision works on clariton boulevard, but I can look it up. So when I went to look up the brand . He responds “well I’m not the one who wrote up your prescription so I won’t know”. Then again I told him I was looking it up.The ladies that work in the building I say were really sweet but the doctor I don’t recommend. I don’t know if he was having a bad day, or if it was too busy for him. I don’t know. But I really didn’t like how his attitude was towards me all because of my eye. And it may not have been about that, but that is definitely one of the reasons why he was rude and saying comments throughout the entire appointment. Honestly, if you did t want to see me as a patient I would have felt better for you to tell me you couldn’t see me because my eye was irritated. I just thought since I was going to the eye doctor, he would offer maybe offer recommendations for eye drops or something to help with the irritation, but instead I got a rude person.I will not be going to this location ever again.
The staff and especially the doctor were extremely rude. There was just one lady who talked nicely to me when I was checking out and ready to leave. I usually go to the Visionworks in Robinson and have had a great experience. I only went here because I couldn’t find an appointment in Robinson. Definitely not going back again.
Some staff are very nice and helpful but is canceled out by the rude staff. Just called asking questions regarding my appointment and was slightly confused and she got very short and snippy with me. Definitely rescheduling for a different location this lady made me feel embarrassed.

I arrived for a Wed 3:40 appointment at 3:48 and was turned away and told to reschedule (which I refused). This was not a busy store, people were not queuing up for their eye exam. Absurd. Rude. Self-important.

Place is a total ripoff between insurance and copays I just gave them over $500 for basically. $2 pair of readers that are not strong eneugh then call them and get out on hold then disconnected with no call back
The doctor did a great exam. Ashley, who helped me after the exam, was very helpful and took her time helping me find the right pair of glasses. She did a great job with the measurements. I got both contacts and glasses. Ashley was able to get me a discount for bundling. Highly recommend.

I had decided to go to this location because my friends and family go there. I used to go to another establishment all together, and I’ll only be going to this location from now on. Cindy was the sales associate who waited on me. She helped me with my insurance. She went over all the coverages with me since I had just changed jobs and didn’t realize what my benefits were. It was very confusing to me but she made sense of it all. She was so kind to go over all of the information with me. They were so busy at the time I had gone into the store. Cindy also fixed my current glasses. The other place I used to go could never quite get the fit right. No fault of theirs. So she changed my pads on the glasses and adjusted them perfectly. The other sales girl was also super nice. Her name was Angel. She is also really good at adjusting glasses too. Thank you both for making this such an easy process! Great job!
Cindy P helped me to pick out my glasses. She was very informative and helpful. She was very knowledgeable and helped me to get the best price. The doctor took his time with me and answered all of my door questions. When I picked up my glasses they were perfect. Would recommend Visionworks. Awesome customer service.
I can’t tell you how amazing this place is. I needed some new glasses because I haven’t gotten any in a while and so I made an appointment and they were able to take me on the day I said I could come in. So when I had my appointment it went really good, and all the employees were really nice and caring and they were able to attend to me when I needed help and then when I got to the point where I wanted pick out my new frames and I was going to go someplace else to get my frames but then I decided to look around in the store because they were having their 60% off sale on the whole purchase and the employees were so helpful in helping me find the right kind of frames.So when my frames were ready, and I was able to pick them up they came out so great and loved them from the start when I first saw them and the only bummer was that I had to come back two times to get them adjusted because I didn’t get them adjusted in the first place because they felt good on me at first but I think because they loosened up they weren’t as tight but each time I came back they were able to fix my frames with no hassle and the second time I came back was a success and my frames feel amazing now. So thank you overall for everything Visionworks. You guys are extraordinary and thank you for all your help.
Amazing place and Cindy is a truly amazing person and goes above and beyond to make sure the customers are satisfied and pleased with their visits and I’m so happy I switched to a closer location to my home and she made that transition easier as well too. I would highly recommend this location. I can’t wait to go back and see Cindy again soon.
I had my annual eye exam earlier this week and I had a GREAT experience. Dr. Alyssa Willig was awesome and so was Cindy on the sales floor. Dr. Willig was patient and took her time and thorough. I was able to get fitted for contacts and Dr. Willig gave me some samples. Cindy was beyond amazing and kind. She was so helpful and listened to my concerns and was able to process my eyewear protection plan warranty. Cindy really went above and beyond!
I wanted to commend Megan, the associate who assisted me. I have a difficult time finding glass frames that comfortably fit my face. I dread looking for new frames. Megan was very sympathetic, very patient, made recommendations, gave me her honest opinion about worked and what did not. She was more concerned about me being happy and comfortable with my selection, rather than simply selling me a pair of glasses. She is a great asset to Visionworks! And I love my new glasses!
We had issues at another location and will not go back there. This location was wonderful, taking time to listen to our concerns and assuring us that they could help us and they came through with flying colors! The stores manager as well as EVERY employee were fantastic! We left feeling like we were treated like we were lifelong friends. All of the issues that we had experienced at the other store had not only been resolved but since they all went so far above and beyond it will be the first place we go next year! Usually when I get glasses it’s such a drawn out process, but with this staff at this location I was able to actually enjoy the process. Megan was awesome in helping me select my frames and she made me comfortable with my purchase. Great service should never go unnoticed and Megan was exemplary!

This place is the best, and I’ll never go anywhere else! There was a mix up with the prescription from my doctor’s office and the ladies in Visionworks completely straightened it out for me and were so nice and friendly. They were all super helpful, and went out of their way to make shopping so much easier for me. Then I mentioned that my fiancé needed glasses and sunglasses and they gave him a great deal, just because of the mix up I had (which wasn’t even their fault!). The ladies here are not just trying to take your money, and I highly recommend coming here for any of your vision needs!

This was the first time I have used Visionworks. My granddaughter was in an emergency situation and did not have contacts or glasses to use for school. I was in a panic situation. We thought we would try stopping in at Visionworks to see if they could fit us in on a very busy Saturday afternoon for an eye exam, contacts and glasses. Colleen, the manager, was so kind and sympathetic and she made sure we left with contacts and eye glasses in less than two hours. The staff there is also very personable and helpful. Colleen is such an asset to your company and we will be back. Although my granddaughter’s insurance could not be used, the prices for everything were quite reasonable. Thank you Colleen and staff!

The worst ever ! Id definitely go to another location and stay clear of this one. Very rude front desk manager and store manager Cindy or Cynthia. I have never been treated so poorly. Visionworks may be an ok place to get glasses but not at the Village location!
They are nice,patient and very polite, most all super fast with my eyeglass delivery I was shocked.The best vision works I have been to so far,I will keep coming back for more glasses and other vision services.The mall location and open hours also make it a great to add to your shopping errands.Im very pleased with my eyeglasses and fit,I adjusted to them right away.

I made an appointment for an eye exam at 12:15 I showed up at 12:17, two minutes late and the manager said that someone should have told me to come early and that they won’t be able to fit me in. The manager was very rude and unsympathetic. I walked out and went straight to LensCrafters and they took me right in for an appointment. The people at LensCrafters are so much nicer and more accommodating. Take your business to LensCrafters if you are going to South Hills Village! Visionworks is a joke 👎🏼
Great customer service: I came in on a short notice to get my eye exam done and contacts ordered and they were able to see me right away without appointment! They also game me a few pairs of contacts to hold me over until the order arrived.
Ugh. I wanted to like this place because they carry Nike frames. I have purchased several pairs of Nike glasses with my high prescription and everytime it is a hassle or argument to get things right. If you have a simple prescription, youll probably be ok. They have a lab onsite which is terrible at cutting lenses. Difficult scripts beware.

So I went to Visionworks about 2 weeks ago for an eye exam. My experience could of been a lot better. the sales person I had up front wasnt friendly or welcoming at all. The sales person Cindy made me feel completely uncomfortable throughout the process of ordering my contacts not to mention she wasnt rushing through the whole process and was disorganized because of something going on with the company.So after my exam my the doctor gave me two pairs of trial contact lenses the biofinity and the acuvue vita. while upfront at the desk while ordering my contacts I realized that I didnt have my debt card on me so I couldnt pay for anything that my insurance didnt cover. So she informed me that I had to make a purchase the day of my eye exam because of the way my insurance was set up but and that we could always refund them when I came back and decided which brand that I liked better and order those ones. So By the time of my next appt(02/03/2020) I decided that I liked the boifinity more and thats what I wanted to order and which I also thought I ordered. So I went in yesterday (02/03/2020) and thought I ordered the biofinity. I got a call today notifying me that the sales lady didnt order me the biofinity she decided to take it upon herself and order the vision works brand of biofinity or somethign along those lines. Well I informed her that I didnt want that at all nor did I know that was an option. She made this decision because at my first initial appt I told her that I didnt want to pay outta pocket for anything that day not only because I didnt have my card on my debt card on me but because I also wanted my insurance to cover my contacts. And while on the phone after telling her thats not what I ordered yesterday. She kept bringing up the fact that I didnt have any money at my first initial exam. She also informed me that the contacts that were ordered were a cheaper brand and were from the company Visionworks. I told her that I just wanted the biofinity. So now I have to pay full price for the contacts.This was my first bad experience with vision works and I hope the only one. Everyone else was very nice. I just wish she would took her time and explained everything throughly and informed me yesterday while I was ordering contacts that they werent the biofinity and they were a cheaper brand and completely different brand so I could have corrected it then. Ive been going to vision works for years and have never had an experience like that. Not only was she rushing me throughout the whole process the was rude too and made me feel like I was stupid each and every time Ive talked to her.
They told my insurance wasnt valid 😡 so I had to pay outta pocket at the south hills location then when I got home and called my insurance and they told me I was still covered for vision. I had to go back to the store to get a refund the manager and staff were very unprofessional and rude. They are a fraud they probably billed my insurance and still tried pocketing my money I would never go there again.

It was like pulling teeth trying to get someone to help us. The employees were more interested in gossip than helping customers (at least my boyfriend and me). And one manager was criticizing an employee for doing something in the middle of the store. I found them unprofessional and went somewhere else to buy my frames.
2 ladies in the front where very rude. I tried to make an apt while my husband looked for glasses. The lady said she would help me got on the computer then the phone rang, she answered it and started helping them on the phone. Never came back to me or asked me or the person on the phone to hold on. I decided to help my husband then while he tried to pick out a pair of glasses. We found a pair and the other lady was telling him she refused to sell those as they where too small and wouldnt help us find the right pair for him. We are new to the area and needed apt, contacts, and glasses and decided we would just rather go some place else. I have gone to vision works in other states and never was treated with such disrespect as we did there
OMG! I had such a bad, bad day today. I got an early appointment, so I could go before work, and was running late. I called ahead and let them know I was 5 mins behind. A few of the employees I dealt with were (understandably) irritated that not only was I 5 mins late, I was rushing to get to my new job, all the way in the city. However, a few of the employees were very kind and understanding. 1: Colleen (manager) was who I checked out with. She was GREAT!! She was totally understanding and sympathetic that I was just having one of those.. off days, and was stressed and struggling to do well with this new job (why I needed the new glasses in the first place). I can’t stress enough how amazing she was. She helped me jump around the store and pick out some glasses quickly so I could take advantage of the discount they were offering. She helped me find 2 great pairs that were totally fitting for my face, and put together the prescription & order of the special lenses I wanted. She even OFFERED to let me dart right out from there so I could run to work, and called me later to get my payment info over the phone after she found the best deal she could get me. Seriously, give this woman a raise or a promotion or something. Very deserving and understanding. 2: The doctor was GREAT. I loved how she said everything she was going to do before she did it, so as to not scare you while coming at your face LOL. She was wonderful as well. Great place, will be going back.

I would give 0 stars if possible. I had made an appointment a week before and even asked what information I would need before hand to make the process go smoother. When I arrived, what they told me there was contradictory to what I was told on the phone. I tried to be as cooperative as possible and figure out what they needed but the staff there was VERY unhelpful and rude. No one would attend to me so when i got up to ask for help, I was told to have a seat. You will be fine, go sit down. After sitting there for an hour after my appointment time with no one showing interest in helping me to figure out what THEY wanted from me, I had to walk out. Will never be returning to any Vision Works
The employees at Visionworks, especially Colleen, are great. My family buys all of our glasses/contacts at this store. We wouldn’t shop anywhere else.

I have been getting glasses for years and they are the best
A couple of weeks ago I called on a whim for an appointment, they were extremely friendly and got me in that day, when I got there my appointment went mostly smooth except that I felt Like the doctor was rushing to get through my appointment. My script had changed for the first time in 12 years, so the doctor had given me 5 trial pairs (contacts) each of two different prescriptions to see which ones worked the best for me and told me to call in to order which ever one worked the best. Upon calling back today to order the contacts I was given quite a bit of attitude. The woman said nothing was in my file except my glasses prescription from October 2015 and my old 2016 contacts script. She said she had to talk to the doctor and call me back. Well, nearly 3 hours later and only 10 mins before they close I finally recieved my call back. I was informed that they don’t have the current script information and that I would have to go back in on Tuesday (today is sunday) so the doctor could see me again (free of charge) to get my script figured out and the doctor wouldn’t be in until then. I live in Mt Washington and work in Cranberry, and am working Tuesday so of course i could not. I was asked if the doctor could call me on Tuesday after 5, at which point we are now looking at me being without proper sight for an extra 2 days. The lady was very rude to me, continuously interrupted me, talked over me, and refused to listen to the very simple thing I was trying to say. By the end of the phone call the woman did tell me that the second script (not the one that i decided worked for me) was actually in my chart. After of course i asked her if she was looking at the correct chart. I simply asked her to note down the script i felt worked best for me so that she may be able to double check it with the doctor and order the contacts. She said the doctor is very busy and has a lot going on and that’s why my chart was missing so much information. I am shocked and completely appalled that a business would be run like this with such unprofessionalism. I am unaware of the name of the woman I talked to, but she made me feel like I was a huge inconvenience in her life, when all I was trying to do was get my contacts ordered since I currently have nothing with the correct script to wear, glasses or contacts. I had always had wonderful experiences at this location for the last 6 years, 3 of which I have driven out of my way to go to. After today I am highly considering NEVER visiting this location ever again and letting everyone know about my horrible experience. If they are too busy to take 5 mins out of their day 3-4 times a year to give me professional service then I will find somewhere else that can.
I had an accident which affect the right lens in my glasses which I purchased from Vision works 5 years ago. I had my prescription from them which I informed them had not changed at all. I also have Menieres Disease in which visual disturbances can cause severe vertigo. When I visited the store today (7-10-17) I was told that the doctor wasnt in and I would need a new examination since mine was 5 years old. Once again I stressed the urgency of the need and told the service lady my prescription had not changed or my eyesight had remained the same to date. Once again, flat out denial of service. This in my opinion is another racket to pull monies unnecessarily from out pockets and feed the doctors through unnecessary testing. I told her I would never do business with Visionworks again and she was unconcerned at my distress and need for an immediate lens replacement.I went down to the first floor and visited Eyetique who immediately saw to my needs, outfitting me with a brand new pair and repairing the old set with a lens replacement and tuning up my older frame at no charge. All for the cost of what one set of glasses would have cost me at Visionworks. If I could give them a zero star I would. 5 stars to Eyetique.All within 45-60 minutes.
