I absolutely love this little market tucked away in Market Square. They have healthy food, fresh vegetables, as well as hot deli food. The salmon is fantastic. There is a quaint little wine bar attached where you can sit and order appetizers and wine and even get bottles of wine to go. Great wine selection. The staff is always, and I mean always so friendly and professional. There is even a little sweet shop in the corner!

I had Market Street Grocery cater my bridal shower at Rodef Shalom, and pretty much all of my guests made a point of telling me it was the best brunch they ever had. The French toast was fantastic, as well as the veggie frittata & sausage. I fully intend on choosing them again to cater my rehearsal dinner.

This store has a little bit if everything. The prices are a little high but thats the price for a small store in a small town thats trying to meet all needs: groceries, deli, fresh veggies, alcohol, tobacco, lottery and more. If you can get what you want at a bigger store, do it. But if you cant get to a big store or you forgot something, this place is great.

Tried this place around noon and was surprised to see they didn’t serve lunch, but definitely not disappointed by breakfast. I know it’s pretty hard to mess up breakfast, but on a large scale it can dicey. The eggs were just the way I like it with good seasoning and some density, the potatoes were well cooked with a nice bite (maybe a little too salty), and the bacon was actually thick-cut and crispy. I will definitely go back for dinner sometime, but if there’s still breakfast available I might have to grab a little of that too.

Cute little boutique market with a limited selection - mostly high quality or local goods.I don’t think it’s an ample supplement for a full grocery, but if you’re in need of some staples while downtown it’s probably sufficient.Their deli and prepared foods offering is a good value for lunch. They serve Boar’s Head deli meats which for anyone who cares, knows that it’s a mark of at least excellence in the deli meat offering department. The macaron shop inside is part of a local macaron program which produces some of the best macarons in the city.

Many good attributes - nice select cuts of meat, quality breads, and decent hot foods. I like being able to walk there and grab a handful of items. That said, even with the good quality, it is still very much overpriced (particularly the hot foods). And though most staff are friendly and helpful, I have now had poor experiences with two miserable employees there. This store has a lot of potential, though, if they stock a little bit more everyday grocery items and pull back on the prices just a bit.

A total rip off. Guy rushes to put my stuff in the box and charges it for $5 without even asking me if that was it. I than ask him just to put a little more in my box. He does, then he charges it again and comes to $5 and change. It was my first time there so I thought it would be my subtotal. Going to the register he rings it for $15. Guy says he added 2 scoops so that was an extra charge he weighed. Which was a lie cause he didnt even give me 2 scoops he gave me a little of what I asked for. And even if that was the case how would he be able to determine the difference of what was added if it was already charged the first time?? If that was the case he should have added in a separate box as an addition to what I had. I didnt want to cause a scene so I just paid it. My first and last time going there.

This is one of Pittsburghs hidden gems in the city! Amazing place! Amazing service! Friendly EVERY SINGLE TIME! Never a disappointing experience here yet! The food is fresh all the time. Organic products are sold here. Just buy 1 for a treat. You will fall in love with them at first taste like I did. Amazing selection. Deli, hot foods, foods to go, ice cream, sorbet, coffee .... you name it, they have it.If you like, there is a wine selection and room in the back. I have never gone back there. I prefer to experience life sober. :) There is one table with about six seats in the front. Which seems to accommodate the traffic flow just nicely.Sometimes I do wish they would expand the store to include more seating. The owners are fabulous and friendly. A real treat to go here! They are still struggling to survive post-pandemic, so please shop here to keep this Pittsburgh gem alive and well.

Not well known even by people who work nearby. I stumbled across it by accident and have been back several times. Both the hot foods and the sandwiches has been very good. Nice variety of out of the box sandwiches. The service and time to get food is the only real downside. They never seem to be staffed for the crowd they get. Long waits to get food and pay. The people working with the food are always hustling and they do a great job but seemingly never getting any help. Cashiers dont seem too engaged and I have never seen them lend a hand even with getting bread, cheese etc when the food staff runs out.

I come here frequently - almost every day for lunch. Personally, I love it. They always have options I can eat, and their menu can vary. (Usually have staples they always carry, like certain sandwiches and proteins in the cold/hot cases.) Like a deli, everything is by weight. I havent had anything there that I really disliked, everything has been between good and phenomenal in terms of taste.I do have a few small complaints about this place. For one, you have zero control on the portions you receive. You approach the counter and ask for some of the salad in the case, and you kinda just get what you get unless you tell them to stop or to keep adding more. Often times, I dont get asked if what he put in the container is good, he just closes it and prices it. Then, I usually want something else, and they dont typically ask me if I do, so I have to hunt them back down for other stuff. (I would think this should be part of training - to ensure youve given the customer all that he/she wants before walking away or helping someone else, but I guess not lol.) Lastly, sometimes the prices are astronomical for what you get. I know salmon isnt cheap, but they charge 20 dollars per pound, and they never have a label on the hot salmon, so customers just get a shock when they get a small piece of salmon and its 12 dollars. However, some of the salads are amazing, light, and at 6.99 a pound, you can get a lot in a container for the price. My friends have tried the macaron area, and confirmed they are insanely expensive there. I rarely see people even going to that counter; and after seeing the prices, I can see why. I cant speak to the quality since I havent tried their macarons. The coffee bar is cute, but also a little pricey considering what you get. Small cup for about the same as youd spend on a larger amount at a nearby coffee shop, but less selection here.Overall, I recommend this place, especially for some of the soups and salads they have. Food is delicious, but just note the prices before committing to stuff.
