I wish they had a little more extensive inventory but this is a good location to check on more specialized things that box stores might not have.

I tried to buy ammo for my new gun and the system they have to buy it is a joke. The young unexperience manager told me to come in at five in the morning to knock on the door to get a # and they dont have it posted to do this and so when you get there unaware what to do and wait in line before they open and and they treat you like a POS. Do not come here its run by children.

Shoe guys are always ready to help, not like some other locations.However, requiring customers to wear masks but not providing any is lame, especially in El Dorado county where we dont allow mouth-breathing city people. Ha, ha.

This Big 5 location is great. The employees are really nice and helpful and their inventory is always stocked. I bought an inversion table today which was bulky and heavy. One of the employees carried it out for me to my car and figured out a way to get it to fit in my rental car that I didnt know how to operate (the back seats had to come down for box to fit but I couldnt figure out how to do it, haha!). There was a piece of trash in the trunk from the previous renter and he even offered to take it to the trash for me in his way back into the store. The employees are always very nice every time I shop there.

For years I have walked around in ballet flats thinking that natural footing was best. However after an associate here helped us find me a pair of real athletic arch supports for my high arches my posture changed and some of my hip pain was alleviated within a day ! Now those inserts switch from shoes to shoes until I can visit again!

Big 5 stores are standardized pretty well from location to location, the difference between each location is fairly marginal. At this location, staff are helpful and friendly and attentive to customers in the store. Be sure to check out the Big 5 ad in your newspaper or at the front of the store and to sign up for their emails. Big 5 regularly emails customers coupons, like $10 off a $50 purchase that can make sales even better.

The have a sign up says wear a mask. So be prepared people. Great service.

Very cramped space. They need a bigger building to showcase their item better. I wasnt asked for any assistance at all. I was shopping for shoes. I did find a reasonably prices pair which are very comfortable and seem to be very durable. If some minor changes are made this could be a great store. The location is off of the beaten track so if placed in a different location and given a larger space this store could be very successful.

No public bathroom is a dealbreaker.

I enjoy this establishment mostly for the shoe sales. There are always good prices on a variety of athletic footware. So if you burn through shoes, its a pretty good place to get a $20 pair of hiking, tennis or skate shoes. Perfect if youre pn a budget. Also a decent selection of other sports equipment.

Dont go here if your a minority they will follow you around like you are stealing especially that weirdo that works in shoes. The only reason I gave 1 star is because it wouldnt let me leave. 0

I went to big 5 today to get a part of snow boots. They had a great selection of nice snow boots. I am very happy with my purchase. There customer service was great too.

Not a very big store shovels are cluttered an everthing seems so close together inside hard to get around with a wheel chair.

So I went to big five to buy my kids soccer shoes. I asked one of the associates, Are you going to be getting more soccer shoes in. He said what size you need? So he went in the back and found me some really nice soccer cleats. He was so helpful to me that.

Had a budget and came out under. But I just hope that maybe they will get in some more casual shoes because Payless is now closed and we dont always want to go to Ross or Tj Maxx.

Could have been a little more helpful, especially because of the fact that they do have competitors, but maybe cuz they are lower end quality they think the patrons are too, I dont know. But I always have better quality of service and product which Im willing to pay for helpfulness and long lasting product at places like REI. Maybe if they hired up theyd have higher quality of service.

Nice store packed full of what most would need for sporting goods and such items. Some mainstream outdoor products, back packs, tents & fuel for camping stoves& so on.

The salesman jack was very helpful very friendly and professional I came in to big 5 to get some football boots and he was very patient I will definitely be shopping there for a long time.

Its difficult to find much in a size above medium, the mediums are scarce, and even those seem to run small. 3 stars only because of the shoe selection, and they have some cool knives, and stuff. I went in looking for a scope for my rifle and although they had scopes they had none on display . I didnt have the time to ask and see several scopes.

Went to Walmart and Kmart in Placerville and they didnt have any items in stock that I needed for camping ie solar camping showers and Big 5 had 6 showers on the floor and I dont know how many in the back after searching all day long next time I will go to Big 5 first for all things foot or camping related... And on a personal note the sales associate immediately pointed me in the right direction and saved me a bunch of time searching for the needed items. Time I wasted in Walmart and Kmart about a 2 and a half hours total. So thanks Big 5 good on ya...
