Ok, Im a senior; but, I still like to try new things. Im so happy I started here. Sonny was fantastic. Safety comes first. He is courteous, thorough, extremely knowledgeable, friendly. I loved it and will be back many times.

Will definitely be back great guy and even though I know the safety behind archery I respect he took the time to teach and explain to me, I definitely feel that if I were to sit down and listen he would have a lot of great stories and a lot to teach me about!

Great place to learn about Archery and practice both indoor and out. Sonny knows an immense amount about archery and will teach anyone the best way to do it safely.

Went here to try out some archery with my brothers. We basically had zero experience and just wanted to try something different. We had a great time, and were the only ones there (early Sunday afternoon), so we got excellent instruction from the guy working there. He was very friendly and did an awesome job helping us out.

I rarely review businesses but this place deserves my time and effort. At Glissons I found my new passion. My first and next visits were professional but warm. Sonny walked me through every step of the safety and learning process. He pays attention to details and he is always willing to help. The shop itself is well-stocked, with a great selection of products and the right recommendations. This is the place to learn, shop, practice and feel great. I couldnt be more pleased with the experience. My new bow shoots great, and I love the way it was prepared and customized. Im excited to come back. Thank You!!!

This was the second time in 3 years that I went here. Both times a had a very pleasant time. First time was just me and a friend, and we had a great time, and then ended up having a pleasant conversation with the owner about random stuff for about half an hour. Second time I went, I went with the same friend, plus my husband, sister, and brother in law. We all had a great time. I paid for much needed lessons both times, and even though we were there for over 2 hours, we were only charged for 1 hour. We also had another at least 30 min conversation with the owner again. He has many good stories to share. And yes, he cracks jokes that I guess some people might take offensively, but neither of us did. And we knew he meant it in a joking way. (Example, my 23 year old sister was too weak to use the adult size bow, so she was using the one for kids. We were all cracking jokes, and all had a great time). Ill absolutely be going back.

Went to Glisson to get my wife a bow for deer hunting and couldnt be happier. We stopped by on a Sunday and didnt realize only the range is open on Sundays but Mr. Glisson opened the shop up for us and got her setup. He spent a lot of time explaining everything and even had her shooting that day. Mr. Glisson and staff are very knowledgeable and easy to work with.I was a little skeptical to give this shop a try based on reviews but so glad we did. If your reading some of the negative reviews, disregard them and head over to the shop. You wont regret it.

Can I give then less than one star? About 5 years ago we stopped in because my daughter expressed an interest in archery. After walking in on a very uncomfortable conversation with his wife, we started in on what turned out to be a less than pleasant experience for my daughter. He almost brought her to years explaining the safety rules and then put her into the wrong bow. (He never bothered check her eye dominance) she still had a nice time though. There was a patron who was more helpful than Sonny ever was. Even told my wife that he wouldnt sell us a bow until she had been shooting a year. Huh? IF I want to waste my money, isnt that my decision?Anyway, we found a different shop that was much more helpful and my daughter is still shooting and loves it even more. I dont think I could say that today if we had stayed there.I suspect he does know some useful information, but he is definitely geared for hunting and for adults and probably experienced ones at that. Nurturing a love for the sport, especially with kids, is NOT his strength.Oh, one other fun fact. He threw a teammate of my daughter out of his shop when he found she shot out of our home range. All she wanted to do was get some practice in and it was physically closer to her house. I guess not.Buyer beware.

Dont go for the crossbow range unless youre alone. They have one target indoor. $15 per hour. However if theres four of you they charge $60 an hour even though theres only one target. They should charge per Lane not per person. It does not make sense.

I dont know why people who write these 1 star reviews are doing so. I had never picked up a bow before coming into Sonnys shop. I bought a compound bow offline and went in expecting it to be ready to shoot out of the box. After shooting for a few months now, i now know how silly i looked. Thankfully Sonny and Norm were both able to help me get my bow set up with a peep sight and brush holder. Norm coached me and taught me how to shoot and they were very helpful and kind. Yes, they are stern and blunt at times, but that is just the way these guys are. They are serious but they care.

If you want to learn archery in a safe way from someone that knows a thing or two, this is the place to go. Ive been to ranges where people are slinging arrows without regard to the injury a misguided arrow can cause and had to walk away realizing its only a matter of time before someone gets hurt. At Glissons, where there is a strong emphasis on safety and doing things right, one can have fun and not worry about someone elses careless mistakes.

A great place if you like being put down and insulted for trying to learn anything. Sonny may be good at shooting a bow but I wouldnt go there again with his abrasive and entitled attitude. Go somewhere else.

Drove 45 minutes to purchase a Crossbow for my birthday. Once there, Sonny was having a Personal Conversation with his Personal Friend while my wife and I waited patiently to be help. After 10 minutes, He indicated to look around, never asking what I was looking for. After some time, He pitched a used OVERPRICE Crossbow and another one that was substandard. I had to personally remove that Crossbows from the Rack High above to look at them because he would not help me. All that time he was having a Personal Conversation with his friend. I left after 20 Min,

I brought my bow in today with the goal of getting it tuned and possibly have a new string put on. Sonny was very helpful and instead of having to leave my bow there, he fixed it on the spot. I was also able to test it on the outdoor elevated range. Sonny may have been what some people might call blunt at times, but not in a bad way. (i.e. he told me the string was in bad shape because I had not taken care of it properly. He showed me how to wax the string correctly and I learned a lot from him in the 30 minutes I was there. ) It was refreshing to be in a hunters atmosphere and I will definitely go back again. As a side note, the changes Sonny made to my bow allowed me to have 1 inch arrow groupings at 20 yards.

Went in with my boyfriend for a fun date night, it was a disaster. Sunny, our instructor, first started demanded us to sign in, demanded to read and listen to the rules, demanded my boyfriend to shut up and listen, it was the most hectic, anxiety ridden date we’ve ever been on we should have left instantly but we had the feeling we wouldn’t get our money back. Our instructor sunny was literally yelling at us for oUr form and saying we were being unsafe, we were using children bows and we were first timers and made that apparent. Eventually sunny said he had to take care of something 15 minutes before our “lesson” was over and we decided to leave as well. My boyfriend forgot hIs sunglasses and came back to find the guy sitting in the shop and spilled his sandwich all over hImself and mayonnaise all over his chin. Disgusting shop will not return.

Sonny is very unprofessional and disrespectful to his clients and I am shocked he is still in business. If you are looking for a kind, informational teacher you should really look elsewhere. From yelling and demeaning clients to overcharging for terrible quality equipment, I would save yourself a horrible experience at Glisson and avoid Sonnys instructional classes at all costs.

My wife and I stopped by here for our anniversary last year, we were looking to try new things together.I never tried archery myself, but she did mention to the instructor she had tried it once, and suddenly our instructor must have assumed she knew all the safety rules and guidelines. He was very aggressive in his tone and continued to speak down to us like we were immature kids wasting his time.Im not sure if this is the sort of practice all their instructors demonstrate there, but we certainly didnt feel welcome.Needless to say, we were out in 5 minutes and spent the remainder of our day trying to forget that catastrophe.
