I had a bad experience with almost everyone I dealt with at Davis. They fixed my trailer months ago, I should have put the review then, because they changed the axels and the bearings etc.. there was some rust in the front of the trailer, looked concerning, I did mention it to them and asked them to check the trailer for safety. Days and days go by, a lot of calls and waiting then finally the trailer is ready! They confirmed everything is fine. Sadly after paying $900+ the axel was not aligned properly and now the rust issue that was never treated corroded further and is almost breaking, jeopardizing my safety and I will have to pay more money to get it fixed!!! I could have bought a new trailer and saved myself a lot of money. They are rude and very unprofessional. Don’t read the other reviews as they can be either differentiating between people or the reviewers are inaccurateUPDATE:I got a call from Davis trailer, few minutes after I put the review!!! which I put only after I discovered the safety hazard, last Sunday!! should have put it after seeing the misalignment and the bad service, but I really feared taking my trailer and boat back as the treatment, as evident from her reply is not appropriate. This lady had the most threading tone, not an apologetic tone at all, as you could see from her reply below, compare it with the other review where the customer called them “cluster F.” Which is a language I will never use, yet their reply was “sorry that you feel this way” but in my case it was throwing all the blame on me without even inspecting anything. I thought of bringing the trailer to them again but after the threading tone and this reply i fear for my safety.I am posting pictures to show the SAFETY hazard of the rust that i clearly asked them to check and they clearly said it is safe but it wasn’t!!!! And the axel that was welded is misaligned and it scratches the fenders!! Which I had to raise myself to avoid damaging the Tyers!This lady actually accused me of trying to bribe her!!! Really?? false accusation, bribe a business owner!! She said if I don’t come back and correct the review she will accuse me!! This is inappropriate and we will report all that to the BBB. This is slander, discrimination and the pictures below and the trailer is evidence.I thought of going today, as I didn’t at 9:00 AM Karen fired back and falsely accused me ‘the customer’ of bribing her. Would anyone have gone back. I guess NOT

I have bought several parts for my new boat trailer here, including tires / wheels, cross members, bunk parts etc. They have a wide variety of spare parts, and yesterday they made good on a tire warranty at no cost to me. Solid work was done. That was the plus of the whole experience. The staff were nice enough. Now, the negatives: HORRIBLE at communication both between each other, interoffice, and also with you the customer. You can call and speak to someone and theyll take down a message or ask them to return your call, but good luck. When it came to payment, that was disastrous as well. As a Marine veteran, I showed them plenty of patience but was getting tired of their excuses. I called in advance to see what their lead times were on getting work done, 3-4 days out, said the guy....2 -1/2 weeks later, after me persistently calling, they finally got it in the shop. Then when they did, they called me asking and/or confirming what specific work and services I wanted them to perform AFTER I went over everything when I dropped it off the almost 3 weeks prior and the employee wrote down exactly what I wanted. Im all for supporting local businesses. The work was good when I finally picked it up. The one word Id use to describe their operations: CLUSTERF**K

Would recommend this place to anyone! Called them up and they were able to get us in the same week. They went above and beyond to take care of the problem I had with one of our trailers. They communicated with us every step of the way. They even went above and beyond and offered my son snacks while we were waiting for our trailer. They stayed late to finish our trailer since we were on a time crunch. Once we got home we found something else on the trailer and they were able to get us back on their schedule right away and communicated openly about the issues they were running into and was able to resolve the issue quickly. Life savers! We were in dire straits our fifth wheel had a blowout on i4 then after having spare put on by a good samaritan we were recommended to go to Davis Trailers to see if we caused any damage. We had another blowout, stressed and upset we arrived at Davis who was amazing, they helped us right away. Put new tires and replaced damaged bearings. Awesome folks honest and fair!

Davis trailer is awesome!! With short notice they replaced my axle and hub in 1 hour. On top of that I found out I had a bad tire and rim I just replaced and they swapped it out with a new rim and tire with no charge at all and it wasnt even their problem to fix. Karen, Mercedes, Brandon and Brian were awesome today. I came in on labor day of all days and they were there help without question. I had a boat trailer with rusty hubs, springs and on its last leg. They measured and checked all the parts i said i was in need of and even had all of it in stock! They helped me swap from a slip style spring to a double eye set up. Simply the best. You won’t beat the service, prices or quality if work. Go ahead and waste your time, but you won’t find a better trailer shop. Nice customer service and excellent turnaround times. I had my tri axle boat trailer worked on and that had it done in 2 days. 2 new axles, new hubs and bearings all around. New springs and assemblies and it was just over $1000. $150 labor for the entire job and they added little extras that I didn’t pay for. Can’t say enough about these guys. In a world market by infidelity and crooked mechanics, this place is an exception. 5 star!

I Meet the owner and his wife awsome people ! I have a trailer just bought used.3 days old. I took it with me there I have no clue what I needed . They have a trailer guy there that knew exactly what I needed hooked me up with correct parts 1st time ! That means alot I drove 45 mins from riverview so if something was wrong not down the street to return. Had the correct stuff the 1st time and pricing was great . I up graded a axle from 1,200 lbs to 3,500 lbs. Kit came with everything needed to do the job . Make the drive to see them its worth it ! I will be back for other work on my truck for 5th wheel hitching. I work at the 3rd highest volume acura/ Honda dealership in the us . Im the assistant service manager in the service department and will tell all my customers how great davis place is !

I wish I could give your business 6 stars!! I got 2 Blowouts on my Fifth wheel trailer yesterday and was stuck on I4 for Labor Day weekend. I google searched for any truck tire repair shops close by and found Davis Custom trailers, gave them a call and not only did they have the wheels and tires in stock..but they sent 2 workers (great guys btw) from Plant city to I4 where I was stuck at, installed the new wheels/tires and got me back on the road. Keep in mind I called them one hour before closing time on a holiday weekend. Great people and would always do business with them if I ever need any trailer parts or repairs.

Awesome experience! Just left there a couple of hours ago. All power to my trailer went out while towing a very heavy piece of equipment. I stopped in, and although they were really busy, they went out of their way to find the problem and fix it and get me back on the road again. Great experience!

I usually go to Rentz in Hudson and I’ve always really liked them (still do), but I had an emergency and Davis was the only place that made time for me. I needed to replace the mobile home axles on my equipment trailer in order to go help with hurricane relief in the panhandle. I had lost three tires with my current axles the previous weekend providing relief and knew that I needed to upgrade. I found Davis through Facebook marketplace when I was looking for new axles in a pinch. They told me that they could custom build me two Rockwell axles and have it done the next day. I checked with Rentz and they wouldn’t have the new axles in time and they were $140 more expensive PER AXLE. I was hesitant to try somewhere new on something this important but I was really up against the wall in terms of time and options. So I gave Davis a try. They had my new axles done in a day and a half. It all looks good so far and pulls nicely! When I went to pick it up, my lights didn’t work. They worked when I dropped it off, so I started working on them there in the parking lot assuming it was something they had done accidentally. Turns out it was really just my crappy old lights. But what impressed me was that Andre stayed out there with me for an hour and helped me until I was satisfied. He also admitted that he had worked on my axles until midnight the night before so that I could help with the hurricane clean up. I really appreciated the personal effort and sacrifices these guys (and gals) put in for me. They worked hard and were reasonable. As long as everything stays working, I will be back. Thank you Karen, Andre, and everyone at Davis Custom Trailers. I will spread the word.

I was trying to find a 5th wheel hitch setup for my new 5th wheel. The dealerships are out and I had stopped by tractor supply and one of the employees recommended Davis Custom Trailers. He said, ask for Ms. Karen. We arrived I told her what I needed and with in 30 min I had everything I needed. She was a great person to deal with and I recommend supporting the local business. She answers the phone, she tells you if she has it in stock or not and she takes care of you. I did not experience this with the online options. The did not even have a number listed for you to call with questions. It was an absolute pleasure to do business with them.

UPDATEMercedes called today and apologized for any misunderstanding! She also offered to refund the labor charge! These guys really care about customer service and I highly recommend them!i called earlier this week to get a wuote for redecking a utility trailer. Not sure if it was Mercedes or Karen I spoke with. I was told $200. We took the trailer up to them. Upon picking it up was told it was $500! The man said the labor alone was $200. Somebody really goofed!! We explained what were quoted, we were told they would be glad to take the wood back off. Wow! We paid the $500 and left. My advice for other customers is to get that quote in writing prior to the work beginning!!
