I had a scheduled maintenance visit on a Friday for a system that wasn’t cooling. Serviceman came out and told me I had a leak but he didn’t have a leak detector so I’d have to schedule another appointment for Monday; who doesn’t keep a tool like that with them?? Called and rescheduled on Friday for Monday at 8:00 a.m- by 8:15 no one had shown so I called; they told me they had to reschedule me for Tuesday because someone called off! All weekend without AC and they decide I can wait. Terrible service I will NEVER use them again - I ended up calling a more reliable company and they came out the same day.
I am absolutely appalled by this company. We returned from vacation to our A/C not cooling properly. The unit is 6 months old, and is under warranty. I was promptly called back by an A/C tech, who said he would be there within an hour. He never showed up or called to say he couldnt make it. In lieu of wasting an evening, and potential AC issues, I asked for a complimentary maintenance request for a cleaning the drain lines. I was immediately denied, due to the fact this is normally a homeowners responsibility. I asked for the owners information so I could talk to them directly versus going through their customer service dept, and again was refused. Please be wary if you are expecting a call out.
Our A/C unit is only 7 years old. I called A Stepping Stone for a minor issue. My condensate drain was clogged. They claimed to have fixed it. A few days later, our overhead unit was dripping even more. I called them and they scheduled us for service 2 days later. The technician claimed the previous technician didnt replace the AC drain line cap appropriately, which was causing the problem. He said he fixed it. 2 mins later, more dripping. So, he angled our drain pan, so it would flow better towards the drain line. Meanwhile he tells me, it going to cost $9500, should we have to replace our unit. (Its only 7 years old!) Within 1 hour of his departure, our AC stopped working, completely. I called their answering service. The on-call technician called back and said he had Covid and couldnt physically take the call. (Why would you assign a technician with Covid to be your on-call technician?) So ... he is instructing the lady of the house (Me) how to climb up a 12 ft ladder and fix the unit, myself. Seriously? Why would you expect your customers to fix their units? We had a maintenance agreement with them. Unsuccessful. He said he would call the technician, who was at our house, (Dean) to ask what service he performed, but, the on-call technician never called back. 2 hours later, I called for a status quo ... meanwhile our house if now at 86 degrees. 45 mins later he texts me back and said the other technician is not answering his phone ... but, left my number with him to call back. No effort for another next day service call, nothing. Just left us hanging. It was a long, long night at 86 degrees and I care for an elderly, sickly parent. Not good. There was never anything wrong with the cooling function on our A/C. It was just a clogged condensate drain. This morning I called A Stepping Stones office asking for the owner. Hes not in. I explained to the receptionist (Rachael) what transpired. She told me the on-call technician didnt have COVID and agreed the series of events were unprofessional. (Basically, Jacob (the on call technician) lied) She said she would put us on the schedule ASAP and call back to confirm our time. 2 hours later, no response. I called back ... oh, I forgot to call you, she said. I called another company, explained our situation and he was here in 15 mins. When they opened panel on the outdoor unit, it was filthy, dirty and disgusting. It was never cleaned. I was paying for a maintenance agreement with these people for what, I dont know, now.. My new A/C company fixed the problem in 20 minutes and said we didnt need a new unit ... ours worked just fine. A Stepping Stone lied, repeatedly, they dont follow up on calls, they leave customers hanging, they are unprofessional, lack good customer skills and why in the world did I have a maintenance agreement when they never properly serviced our unit? They have a bad reputation in our neighborhood and I was forewarned and didnt heed the warning. I had to leave a star ... would have preferred to leave no star, but was not given that option. I fully intend to report the to the BBB. Would NOT recommend them. No, No, No ...
This company I have worked with for years. They are the best in Plant City. My technician is Jayson and he does an excellent job.
Great service experience for my maintenance. My service technician Na’gee was polite and professional. Took the time to tell me about my maintenance and decided to purchase the ultraviolet lights for my to air handlers. Came out the same day as well to take care of my AC system. Thanks!!
As a longstanding customer of A Stepping Stone, we received service today related to our air-conditioning unit. Our service workers name is Jose. His work on our air-conditioning unit today was ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING! He showed me every detail during his service work. He also gave me some very clear suggestions about how to keep our unit functioning well. We would very much like for Jose to work with us again. We really appreciate his expertise!
I had a wonderful experience with A Stepping Stone in April 2021. The service tech Na Gee was very knowledgeable and went above and beyond to make sure that I was all set in my new house! I will continue using this company, and would recommend them to anyone needing to have AC maintenance!
Completely editing my original comments. Stepping Stone was extremely diligent in making a difficult AC unit better. My parents purchased a home from Sun Rise Homes. Stepping Stone did an excellent job on their AC system. I was very skeptical because it took so long for the problems to be corrected but after another repair person checked their system I learned that the system was plugged up (my fault - I forgot to do the monthly vinegar maintenance task). Heat Wave AC was very complimentary of the unit and how well it had been repaired/rebuilt. I was really doubting Stepping Stone but looking back I should have trusted them. We had an overall great experience. I highly recommend Stepping Stone to for AC repair/installations.
Better than expected! Our technician, Logan was very polite & took all the right precautions for the safety of of us all. We had multiple questions about the issues/management of our new home AC system. He politely answered all questions with great explanation. Will definitely be using Stepping Stone again in the future.
Steppingstone installed both of our AC units as part of new construction. I had signed up for twice a year service but one of the AC units keeps failing every six months with a different problem, usually right after the service. Although, this is most likely a coincidence. Had a coil problem that damaged our ceilings. The coil was under warranty by the manufacture, however labor was not covered. After multiple calls to the business they came out about a week later to take a look at the problem for 2 minutes and charged me $95 for a service call. Took them another 2 to 3 weeks to get the part, which means no AC for us for that time. When they finally came out, the technicians were not wearing masks and applied shoe covers only when asked. Took them just under two hours to fix everything and they charged me $500. With the service call that’s nearly $300 an hour for labor of replacement of coil. The bill was not reflecting itemized charges and just had a single charge. I do not know how much Freon was put in, their hourly rate was not reflected and that seems to be an issue. Throughout this whole ordeal of multiple weeks I was never able to get past the operator who would refuse to transfer me to a manager to discuss the issues I’m having. I understand that the machinery will fail and that is not the problem of the company, however, the communication and the service portion are lacking very much. Would not recommend to use of this company. I welcome the management to contact me to discuss the issues with improper billing. I will update this post as it develops and will reach out to the builder as well. Service done on 11/23/20.Update: Post seems to be ignored on 1/4/21. Other positive reviews seem to get attention. Not the “customer service” one might expect. The best time to contact is Wednesday before 10am
Integrity and transparency are of no importance to this company.I notified them of the AC not cooling. Tech #1 came out and stated that the TXV (valve) is the issue. I paid the $95.00 fee & was then quoted $520.00 for the repair. The part came in and Matt said he can install today. Due to short notice, I declined but requested and agreed to Friday as the first call in the AM. Matt said that Tech #1 lives in Winter Haven and will keep the part on his truck so he can come directly to my home. Also, expect a call around 7:30am before his arrival. No call, No show. I had to call the company to check the ETA of Tech #1. I was transferred to Matt and then he states, “No one told you”? I obviously said no, which is why I was calling (I knew at this point things were about to get worse). Matt said that Tech #1 called out and the next availability was 12pm. As Matt was telling me this, I was wondering how is the part on Tech #1’s truck in Winter Haven will miraculously arrive with the new guy?Tech #1 arrived and replaced the part. Although cool air was not immediately felt which I was not expecting, Tech #1 said it was fixed. I paid the $520.00 from what was quoted. Once I received my copy of the service invoice, I realized that Tech #1 did not called out. I matched the service order from the first visit earlier that week and he was the same guy! I confronted Tech #1 and told him that Matt said you called out from work today. Tech #1 proceeded to tell me that was not true. In fact, Matt gave him a compressor job that morning. Completely disregarding my original schedule of being first call that day. I was LIVID!! After exposing this lie, Tech #1 then came back to charge me an addtl $378.00 to replace refrigerant! Which I was never quoted on, agreed to, why it was needed for this repair, nor was told this occurred prior to completion. I declined to pay that charge and inform him they will be getting a call from me once I return to work.Later that evening, I returned home to an AC that is NOT fixed. I called the 24-hour service to walk them through on what they just did that day and was told Tech #2 will call me in about an hour or so. No call back.Next day, I called again after 9am and was told that Tech #2 is still on call, and he will call me back. Tech #2 finally called, I explained the issue and he said he can come by after 12pm to troubleshoot that day. I respectfully declined since I will be out of town and most importantly had no reason to cancel plans since this issue should have been resolved. We both agreed to Sunday morning first call.Tech #2 arrived and immediately upon his arrival he noticed no cool air. After about 30 minutes, he indicated that the compressor was overheated & needs to be replaced. That Monday morning after THREE attempts with leaving messages and speaking with multiple receptionists, Matt finally called back at 4:00pm. I proceeded to ask him how this could have been missed & could the compressor be the issue all along. The next words that I remembered loudly is when he said, “Sometimes, instead of getting one flat tire, you get two”. He then confessed to the internal error of the TXV part being under warranty. Apparently, I should have been charged so that was a freebie. The quote to fix the compressor is $2425.00. I ask if they can tell me how much the part is so I can back into numbers and Matt said they do give that info out. What?! Although I wanted to confront Matt about his disgusting lie about Tech #1 calling out, it was not going to change anything, and it told me everything I needed to know to not continue with them EVER again. Instead, I saved that for this google review. Needless to say, I told Matt that I will no longer do business with this company. To not encounter future AC issues in my home from Stepping Stones remnants, I decided to get a new unit installed by Anchored A/C and Heating from Winter Haven. I spent less time setting up the new install than hassling with Stepping Stone. BTW, if I had decided to change the compressor, my new family quoted me $1800.00!!
We have used A Stepping Stone for several years for AC maintenance. I like that the company keeps track of when service is due and calls me to schedule so I don’t forget. Our techs have always arrived on time and been very polite, and I never feel like they are trying to talk me into a repair I don’t need. NaGee was no exception today; he was very pleasant.
Received excellent service today from A Stepping Stone, especially our technician Nagee. He was very polite, professional, and knowledgeable. Office staff is always friendly and helpful. Just an overall great place to do business with.
I can’t say enough about Na’Gee. He did a wonderful job, was on time and very professional. He suggested things that 3 prior technicians from Stepping Stone never told us. I feel confident that things were inspected properly and the maintenance was completed as paid for. I hope that Na’Gee stays with this company so that in the fall I can request his services. Thank you Na’Gee and it was so nice meeting you and thank you for all the tips you gave us. Blessings
Jose was my technician today and he did an absolutely fabulous job! He was on time, professional, and knowledgeable! He was able to answer all my questions! A Stepping Stone is a wonderful company and they are lucky to have Jose on the team! Thank you!
I had three technicians come to my house in one week and my AC was not fixed or diagnosed correctly. I hired a new AC repair company and was fixed with correct problem or part. I have had problems with my Carrier AC system since the install date of 2016. Every year I have had issues with refrigerant or drain problems.
My Service Tech was Nagee and he did a great job. He was actually early to the appointment and he let me know exactly what he was going to do. Very satisfied with the service. Thank You!!!!
I have been A Stepping Stone customer for many years. They have installed, repaired and fixed messes others made. Always reliable and professional. My last cleaning was by Na’gee. He was delightful to talk to, did his job and kept us informed. Great work!
I had my air handler blower motor stop running during the weekend, the unit still has a few years warranty from the new install. The technician I spoke to had me send him the serial number of my unit to confirm warranty, they then told me that the unit is under warranty and that the symptoms that I describe do indicate the blower motor may have gone bad. I was told by the technician that he will get the part from the supply house to prevent any unnecessary trips or charges if that was indeed the issue. They give me a appointment during the work week from the hours of 12-6, I took the entire day off of work to wait for them, at 6 I receive a call stating that they will arrive around 7, they showed up after. I figured that would be fine if they could fix my AC but when the technician arrives he asks to look at the unit he then tells me I was correct that the issue is related to the blower motor but he does not have the part we talked about him bringing to fulfill the warranty. He then states that he has to charge me $95 as a service call when I was told he would bring the part with him to avoid unnecessary delay. They then tell me the following day that the part wont arrive until an additional 5 days and they want to charge another fee of now $170! I am confused/angry that there level of communication with the customer is disconnected, they promised me one thing and then do another. I wish I could get a refund for my $95 for many reasons including the following:1) They did not diagnose anything2) They told me my part would come with the technician and it did not3) You schedule a ridiculous appointment from 12-6 and you cannot be on time.4) Your appointment efficiency made me lose an entire day of work which can be added to the loss.I hope someone with a little bit of consciousness has the chance to review and fix these inefficiencies because it seems like you guys intentionally do things to charge the customer more.
Great service from Nagee! Very nice guy, very professional and informative about all the company offers! I had maintenance done on my unit and was very please with the work! Would definitely recommend!
Stepping Stone has provided us annual inspection and maintenance services for 7 years and I see absolutely no reason to go anywhere else. Just great all-around and their service tech, Logan, as excellent!
I called A Stepping Stone because my HVAC fan would not stop blowing. Logan, the technician, quickly assessed the situation and replaced the fan motor module and fan. I was impressed with the same day service, value, and professionalism. I am new to Florida, having moved from Arizona. I know how important a trusted HVAC company can be. I am very pleased that I have found A Stepping Stone for my future needs.
I have used them since 2014 . They installed my system and have been maintaining it as well. All service people have been great including Nagee who was here yesterday.
Had a new ac unit put in in 2020. Its only april 2021 and already needs new compressor. Have had multiple issues with the ac unit not cooling. The response time is awful. They dont fully address concerns. If they see another issue the worker wont even bother to adress unless you bring it to their attention. They told me it could be up to 1 month for repair. So no air for 1 month in florida summer with 3 kids. And no offers to even help accommodate us. Please save your hard earned time and money and go with a more reputable company. I dont even know how they havent gotten their license revoked. Please please look at other options. I
Logan showed up and was very professional. He did a very good job of explaining everything and wore a mask to keep everybody safe. Would highly recommend.
Been using them for 3 years, Always courteous n on time. Nagee was very knowledgeable n
I have been a customer since I bought my home in 2017. The technicians I have had have always been professional, kind, and helpful. They are personable and always give me advice on how to keep my unit running well. My technician today was Na’gee and he was awesome!
My service technician Logan was well mannered and prepared maintained his distance during this social distancing times. Very knowledgeable and made this process flawless. Thanks for your service A Stepping Stone!
They’re the company that installed my AC under new construction. Been in the house since summer 2018 & have had no problems relating to the AC since then. I am a part of their service maintenance plan & so far so good.
Nagee and Joyce performed our bi-annual HVAC maintenance today. They arrived on time and got started right away. They flushed out our drain line and checked our refrigerant and made sure that everything was working well. They answered some questions that my wife had, and departed. Both Nagee and Joyce were very professional and displayed a knowledge and expertise that we have come to expect. Job well done!DKamison
Thank you Jose for explaining the process and recommending the UV light, it was very helpful. I would recommend.
Called last Friday due to our AC being out and scheduled an appointment for Monday. The window was 12-4, and no one came. We called multiple times and were told someone would be there. We waited until 6, and still no one. Today rolls around, we call in the morning and are told someone will arrive right after their first job in the morning. It is now after 6. We have received “updates” on arrival giving another several hours each time we’ve called. The house is 89 degrees.Update: the technician did come and repaired our AC. He was very knowledgeable and we had a great experience when he arrived. I do wish that communication had been better when coordinating the appointment, but the service itself was good when the technician came.
Love Stepping Stone. Logan was very professional and arrived on time. He wore his mask and was very quick to fix our problem! Thank you
Horrible horrible experience. They will lie and tell you that they’re coming out and end up cancelling on you four times. Do they really think I’m stupid? How does your workers truck break down “four times”?? Save yourself the money and go somewhere else because the level of professionalism at this place on a scale from 1-10 is 0.
We have a brand new unit on a brand new home and continue to have problems with the unit and the service. The first tech they sent stated our system was a bottom of the line unit and it need to be balanced but, he couldnt do that. They sent another tech who stated the house was cold nothing was wrong. If you point a thermometer at an air duct and any air is coming our, of course it is going read cold. The room temperature was at 80. The third person that they sent out tried to fix some issues by blocking air flow to some of the vents and pushing air to other parts of the house, which I guess it what the first tech was talking about in reference to balancing the air? This shouldnt have to be done on a brand new unit in a brand new home. The house is staying at 78 at 8:00 at night. This is unacceptable Im not sure who to reach out to get a solution.
May 24th: No update, not ready to announce my next steps at this point, just didnt want those watching and contacting me to think I had forgotten....still no calls from the business.April 30th: I plan another major update this weekend.....there was some activity with the BBB, I will post the links here for your viewing....none the less....no phone call of course...April 14th: FINALLY a response! Of course, the facts are all kinds of weird, 1. they are fixated on some static bypass that was NOT MY ISSUE, 2. I have plenty of documentation of my issue, photographs and certifications from ENGINEERS, not salespeople....3. I BEGGED them to come out and look (and have the emails) they wouldnt do it without money up front.....even with the 558, you had the right to inspect!!! Your facts are all kinds of wrong Matt.....and your response was immature and personal......stay tuned all, I will be posting my facts to the BBB website and all can judge for themselves. Shame, all avoidable with simple 10 digits of phone number and the courage to actually place the call. Step up! Make the call.....Im not that bad of a guy if you are reasonable. All I have ever asked for was reason and a call.(Not going anywhere Matt, just call me....all I ask....all I have been asking, all I asked for from the beginning....)UPDATE (April 9th)......nope, no phone call, no contact....silence remains...no BBB update either, they simply ignored the Better Business Bureau request....wow! I have requested the BBB remove their accreditation for failure to respond to a BBB complaint.UPDATE (March 24th)....you guessed it....no phone call, no response, BBB remains unanswered! Thanks for all the shout outs on the google review as well! Still hoping for a phone call, Im optimistic they will at least give a guy a phone call.UPDATE(March 14th): Well, fresh week ahead....anyone wanna guess if I get a phone call or the BBB gets a response? So far, the BBB complaint was opened in January, currently listed as unanswered. Lets see what the week holds....will, of course, update everyone as the week progresses.UPDATE: Friday - Another week goes by and no response to BBB and no phone call to me......3 weeks have gone by, the committed to answer (see their response....its right there). Imma still waiting...UPDATE: Tuesday, March 9th....no call and no response to BBB (despite their commitment on this review to do so...). Once again, I repeat....Im not represented by counsel....its a simple, customer friendly thing to do....simply pick up the phone, dial my number and have a call....easy, simple....just do it....call me....UPDATE: Friday, March 5th....no callUPDATE: Thursday, March 4th.....no call....no response to Better Business Bureau...ouch....ignoring them too....nice...UPDATE: Well, well, well.....shocker.....no response to the BBB and I have no email, no text, no phone call....nothing.....so, for all of you reading this or considering this company.....look no further than this review.....see for yourself, look up the BBB response....nothing, just like this google review. Will soon post a link to the photos, damages and entire situation....what will it take to get a phone call?? A simple phone call....amazing.UPDATE: Well, here we are 5 days later...I do not have a call from you, no email, no text and no response to the BBB. What should we conclude from your lack of response? Im waiting....UPDATE: Ok, nice try (your lack of response CAUSED me to get an attorney)....but I will call the bluff here in writing. I am no longer represented by counsel....there ya go, in writing, in public....excited to hear from you. You have my number, look forward to the call.DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I will soon post the details of my situation after my legal process. In the meantime, I warn you not to use this company at all....for anything. Look, mistakes happen, I get it....but you have to do the right thing when that happens.....they have not. Consider yourself warned....I recommend Hot 2 Cold (and am not affiliated with them)
Esplanade of Tampa, 350 homes with numerous Lennox units installed by A Stepping Stone. We signed up for the semi annual maintenance checks @ $125 per year. First year a leaking coil was repaired. Third year the coil was leaking again and stopped cooling. My review of their maintenance records showed a continuous lowering of pressure due to leaking. All pressures were noted on the maintenance records but nothing was fixed or brought to my attention. I later found that the newest employees conduct the maintenance calls and probably cannot detect leaks. The next service call was $310 for 3 lbs of coolant. The new coil was ordered (under warranty) and was installed the next week for $580 labor charge for 2 hours work. The price included 2 lbs of coolant if needed. Brett did an excellent job and I would highly recommend him. I wrote a letter requesting a refund for the 2 lbs of coolant ($140 value) that were not used because of the 3 lbs paid for the prior week. Not only did I not get a refund or credit but there was NO RESPONSE at all. I discovered that the original coils were defective and a class action suit was pending. I am wondering if this was known at the time of installation because 3 of my immediate neighbors have had major a/c failures at about the same time. I also inquired as to why my coil was not replaced when the first leak was detected instead of waiting 2 years. Lastly, I found out that warranty items (like the coil) should never be repaired because it could void the warranty. Thank you A Stepping Stone for making me realize I need to find another company and you can be assured that this will be passed along to the other residents of Esplanade.
Excellent technician was very professional and knowledgeable NA’gee explained everything so well very nice and took so much time and felt very confident with his service THANKYOU NA’GEE
Very good service. Nagee is a really good technician.
Always great service!
I am a long term customer. They have always been honest ( hard to find) and have provided great customer service. They also had much better prices than their competitors on new AC units with installation. The tech Jose was very thorough during my semiannual unit check up. Highly recommend!
Logan showed up on time and got the job done in a timely manner, definitely will be calling this company again.
Had this company come out when I bought my house May 2020. They failed to tell me the blower was EXTREMELY dirty and I had to have it replaced only a few months later. Will never use them again.
This company did nothing about our leaking AC. We ended up going to a different company. Poor quality work.
I tried to keep using this company because they were the ones that installed in in my townhome 5 years ago. Unfortunately, I have spent way more money needed to repair this so called brand new unit. Every time they do a scheduled cleaning, something goes wrong shortly after and I end up having to spend more money to repair. I even had one technician over charge my ac, which causes damage as well. I will never use this company again.
Great experience with A Stepping Stone. If there’s one thing I don’t joke about in Florida it’s A/C! They are not only fast and efficient but knowledgeable! Definitely recommend this business.
Josh is the best!! Honest and straight forward. Give the man a raise! Got my AC up and running and also gave me some education!
The house was built/finished mid-December 2019 and the A/C unit was installed by stepping stones. The A/C unit was working until mid June. Started making loud banging noise (it had been near-silent before). When a machine suddenly starts making a loud noise, its bad news. So I called, the company scheduled someone to come (gave me a 6 hour window - I had to take half a day off from work). A guy came around 4:00pm, was here about 20 - 30 minutes. The guy stated the only issues he could find were: a part was overcharged and he could see dead critters in the outside machine. He removed the extra fluid (which was causing the overcharging) and left. He told me to call back if noise persists. The noise never stopped. So I call again the next week, and they state they can have someone come, but they have to charge me $95. The unit has a full warranty for the first year, and then a limited warranty afterwards for 10 years. It has only been 6 months since I moved in! After much debate, the lady on the phone agrees to mark the appt as a follow-up so that I wont get charged. So the 2nd guy, who is a supervisor, comes by. He doesnt open up the barrel or anything else. He opens up a side panel and checks the pressure and states its normal. He states that some of these machines are just loud; I direct him to listen to my neighbors units and how quiet they are. He says, not every machine is the same. I relent; if he says its fine, then I guess I have to believe him. He again tries to charge me $95 and I alert him that it would be waived as a follow-up. He confirms, but refuses to give any proof that he was there, UNLESS I pay the $95. Two weeks later and the A/C is NOT working. I have it set for 74 degrees. On Thurs morning, the temp on the thermostat read 84 degrees. It took over 12 hours for the temp to decrease to 81 degrees. I check it Fri morning, and the temp has INCREASED to 82 degrees! It eventually gets down to 78 degrees, on SUNDAY! The A/C unit has been running since Thursday morning, NONSTOP, and it took until Sunday to reach 78 degrees!!! Then on Monday I realized the thermostat kept jumping up and down in readings; it kept bouncing back and forth between 78 degrees and 82 degrees. I had called the construction manager builder that Friday and he told me that he had contacted Stepping Stones and they would be reaching out. I hear nothing from them and assume its because of the weekend; I call them on Monday. They again try to charge $95; I again tell them that I have contacted the manufacturer, who states Im not responsible for any fees for the first year. My boyfriend then calls after me: he finds out that one of the techs LIED and said that he opened up the barrel and removed all the dead critters (NOT TRUE, as I can still see them in there). They NEVER opened up the outside barrel; spoke with a friend, whos a tech for another company, and he claimed there was no way they could have done that in under 30 minutes. The woman also said that we have to expect an 18 degree difference. What?!!! After much back-and-forth, they agree to send someone out Tuesday. I alert them that I am not available until after 4:30pm, when I get off from work. They state this is fine and they will make a note for the tech. The next day, they call me at 2:30pm and say the tech is on his way. I alert them that I am at work until 4:30pm (and I alert her that I told them this the day prior, which she confirms they have it documented). The woman states the tech has to come now because my house is his last appointment in the area. She tells me I have no choice but to clock out of work early! I say I cant do this. The woman states she will TRY to have someone come tomorrow after 4:30pm IF its okay for tech. 20 minutes later, the woman calls me again. Quote: we have a night tech that we usually dont use, but we will make an exception this time. The tech can come by tonight around 5pm - 6pm. I state this is fine, as I will be home from work at 4:30pm.
Very professional and friendly would highly recommend
This company is a joke theyre techs are very incompetent and lack craftsmanship. You call for service the guy shows up (Thank god) you tell him the problem he supposedly fixes it in 5 to 10 minutes he leave the problem persists. over time gets worse and then youre held accountable. I called yesterday spoke to a mánager after one of her Worker came to my house and fixed a leak that occured within the unit it self that was caused by the person who initially installed the unit. they left out the pistons that should have been inserted upon installment, misallined drip pan. there are incomplete duct Work on the unit till this very day and each time they come out no one addresses the issue because they dont Care or take pride in Their Work which is a absolute diagrace i dont know how these guys are still in business or Better yet how in Gods name do any of it pass inspection. There is so much more and no one Wants to take responsibility they just keep Passing the blame onto other people the mánager i mentioned earlier directed me to call the home builder next time i have an issue. I am absolutely disgusted by this experience. Too bad i dont have the option of uploading photos. This has been a very very awful, awful experience 🤮🤮👎🏿👎🏿
Showed up on time, did a great jobHi
I purchased a new townhouse 12/26 and stepping stone installed it. Last Tuesday it totally stopped and was 92 and I called at least four times and the service saId someone would call me back. No one did. I called the next morning and they said they can send someone between a six hour window. It’s 95 in here so I told rhen I needed to work and I was going to a friends and needed 45 min to an hour notice to get there. No one called and I callled at 3 and was told he was almost there but since no one called me I was 10 min late and he left. He came back a few hours later and said the circuit board was friend an d it would be a few days. I have had to miss work and pay for a hotel and they told me someone would be here between 8-12 today. It’s now 1:14 and I called and they said sorry he is running late. Not even the courtesy of a phone call when it is 95 In here. They do not have 24 hour a day service and no one has bothered to apologize for my inconvenience d and they Kent know when he will be here as he has another Job before me. Why the hell did they tell me to be here from 8-12 then! Do they have dispatchers wirh jo brains scheduling. I’m furious hot and angry and would recommend anyone stay away from rbaj company. My builder can’t believe how awful this experience is .
This is a great company - have used them for years. They have a bi annual AC unit service they provide that has kept my AC running great. Would recommend them to anyone!
Louie did great installing new board in my mini-split Carrier originally installed by You as well-and under warranty! I believe you are fair and honest—important for A/C. One issue is it took a month to get the part—I’m concerned about that and what the future holds since I have 2 systems—anything we can do to get Carrier to improve? Some people will blame you....
I used this company because I have friends that know them well. I called and the service techs were out within the next few hours. Very helpful tech. Paid an huge chunk of money to have ac in my house, as I have an infant And 3 other children. Few hours later the ac was not working again. Called to have them come out and they kept making excuses and said couldn’t come back out till next day. I understand business and techs being super busy, but when someone pays your company a huge chunk of money to have something fixed correctly, it’s proper customer service to send someone right out. I don’t understand why not everything was looked at during the service call fee. It appears the tech found one issue and fixed it and moved on. I am very disappointed in their service and I have had others who have had great service.
We are very satisfied with the service we always receive from A Stepping Stone AC. We particularly want to comment on the service received by Dean. Dean is very knowledgeable and keeps us informed of the possess to complete the job. He always does a superb job in solving the problem. Dean is always focused on his work and completes it professionally and thoroughly without becoming frustrated or rushing through. Also, the office staff have been very kind and prompt scheduling and following up with us. Thank you for the great service.
A stepping stone came out to my home today to address my home not cooling. They arrived the same day I called and they fixed the issue the same day letting me have cold air once again. The customer service I received from the office aswell as the technician that came out was STUPENDOUS. A STEPPING STONE HAS ME AS A LIFE LONG CUSTOMER.
Our HVAC system went out on Tuesday. No A/C, heat, or even fan coming on. A technician came out Wednesday afternoon and identified the problem as some sort of electrical issue which is still covered under warranty, but they do not carry the part to repair (despite the fact that this is the same company that installed the unit less than two years ago). He told my husband to expect a call later in the day on Wednesday with the ETA of the part and to schedule the repair. When we hadnt heard from them by Thursday afternoon, we called again and were told we would receive a call when the part arrived, sometime on Friday. Not having received that call yesterday, we called AGAIN this morning and were told that they would look into the status of the parts order and call us back. That was hours ago, and still nothing. Meanwhile, weve been dealing with Floridas weather mood swings ranging from low 40s overnight to mid 80s during the day, with a one year old in the house. Its currently 80 degrees inside the house and only getting warmer. Not impressed with this company at all.
This the worst company they just take your money Ill be writing everyday until they fix it .A new house it shouldnt be no problems like this .They was out here 3 times already. Who can I call to get help
The main ac unit in our home stopped working one night and i contacted this company the next day and they came the same day and took care of the problem efficiently and quickly. I was explained what the cause was and how to potentially avoid the issue. The technician was Jose, and he was excellent because he wanted to fix the problem efficiently as well as cover all the bases and leave no loose ends with the AC. He display the utmost professionalism and accomplished fixing the Unit and Control Display. They have gained my trust and my business for the future. Thank you to Jose and A stepping Stone for getting us back on track!
I am giving them 3 stars ONLY because the technician that came out originally was on time, friendly and quick figuring out the issue. (Matt) good job. 7 days ago I called stepping stone a.c. because the AC wasnt blowing in my master bedroom. Very uncomfortable to sleep as air flow from the rest of the house doesnt flow well through to my master. Matt told me someone would call and set up appointment and give me pricing. The next day a young lady called and gave me a quote to fix the collapsed flex duct of 550.00$ I explained that was fine and we needed it done asap. This morning I got a call that someone was on the way out to fix it. Wow.. How does anyone expect to sleep in FLORIDA during the summer for 7 days. On Saturday my wife and i bought the material to do the job 50$ and fixed the collapsed flex duct in 30 mins. I always heard stepping stone was amazing, fair priced and quick. Apparently only in the winter.
I had them come out and replace my capacitor on my outside condenser. They charged me $138 for the part and $75 for diagnostics. I gladly paid them for this service because we need our ac fixed. But when I found out by MANY different people and companies that I got RIPPED OFF, I started looking into this. I could have bought the part for many different places for under $25 for a 1 year warranty. Or $30 for a 5 year warranty. They charge me over 255% mark up on this part!!! So this was done almost a year ago with me just leaving it alone till just this last Sunday. My ac went out again. So I decided to call another AC Repair to come out and look at my unit because I was not going to get ripped off again. The out come was that the capacitor was bad again. So they stated they could fix it for just a little over $100. THAT is half the price from A Steeping Stone. So I had them fix it because once again, we needed it fixed. Then I called A Stepping Stone to just ask for a price on the capacitor, I was told $54 for the part (which is almost a 3rd of the price I was charge) and it has a 1 year warranty if they install it or no warranty if I install it. Then I called back to get JUST the part warranted, but I was declined because A Stepping Stone did not come out and diagnose the problem. But who in there right would want to be taken advantage of again. If the part has a 1 year warranty on it, then they should stand behind it. But they do not. I WILL NOT EVER refer anybody to them or call them again for any work need. I could not rate anything lower than 1 star or they would have gotten that. PLEASE PEOPLE, DO NOT USE THIS COPMANY!!!! I will also being sending a letter to the BBB about them!
Jose with A Stepping Stone serviced my AC today. I always keep a contract with A Stepping Stone, it is very helpful to have the contract in the event that a repair has to be made at time of service. Jose did have to change 2 capacitors, he explained that they were not working as they should and I asked him to go ahead and replace both at this time. I have used A Stepping Stone for 12 years now and have been very pleased with their service. Whenever there has been an issue they come out in a timely manner to repair the AC. I have always been pleased with this company.
Eric was my Tech Guru! He was AWESOME! During my biannual check-up; he found something that if I let go would cost me big bucks down the road. Thanks so much for A Stepping Stone for hiring knowledgeable a courteous employees!! I am a customer for over 5 year and will be a customer for life! Kudos again to Eric!!!
We had a new unit installed today by Gerald T and Jose B. They were on time. They did a quality job for us and we got a great price. We are so happy with the professionalism and the friendliness of the guys.I would most definitely recommend A Stepping Stone to everyone. Great work Guys!!!!
I recently called in here for my unit not working. I WAS MISERABLE. sweating miserably. I called A Stepping Stone and they had a technician at my front door within the reasonable time given. The technician was fast and efficient and fixed my problem at a reasonable price. The following day I greatly appreciated the follow up call just to make sure everything was still working and I was happy.I LOVE A STEPPING STONE!I will use them forever.
Dean from A Stepping Stone AC checked on our a/c units for our properties and businesses to see if they needed service. He was fast, professional, knowledgeable and didnt cost us an arm and a leg. Because of Dean, we signed a contract with the company for service. I recommend A Stepping Stone to all our friends as a result. Fantastic service!
Stepping Stone installed my AC system (with our homebuilder) over 14 years ago and it has run great for years, requiring the typical routine maintenance and weve had a few small repairs over the recent years - However, this weekend the AC began to blow VERY WARM. I called Stepping Stone and Jose B called me back. Jose was professional and very knowledgeable. He was able to walk me through a few troubleshooting tips (OVER THE PHONE) and within no time, my system was blowing ICE COLD once again! Thank you Jose B!
This company does not honor their own motto of integrity and quality in work. Fifty plus days after speaking to Matthew Stone regarding recurring issues and still I am waiting for him to “get back to me”. Is that what having quality and integrity in work has come down to?
This is one of the worst companys in Flordia. They put in our new A/C unit and it was under sized in our new home. It runs continuously running up our utility bill. The whole neighborhood been having problems with the same thing. They ran the coolant lines it front of the unit so you can hardly get the inspection doors off or change the filter. They ran the drain line in front of the access door for the filter and there solution was to leave the joints to the drain line unglued so can take it apart. So, not knowing that it leaked on the side of the unit causing damage and black mold. When I called them about it they told me it was out of warranty meaning over a year. In addition they used 24 round insulated hose for the intake and it should have been fiberglass board using the entire filter. Lots of shortcuts, I cant believe it even passed inspection.
I love this business! They repaired my AC unit quickly!THANK YOU!!
Amazing service. Tech came out and did my ac service thoroughly and was well educated and knowledgable
A stepping stone is a fair AC company. Normally I dont post any reviews of businesss, but I had a great experience with one of their techs. Im used to the service industry up selling me and beating around the bush when it comes to work. Most other companys appear to just want my dollar. The young man that helped me was honest, up front and respectful to me from start to finish. If AC work is needed I would recommend asking for Ben.
I gave A Stepping Stone a call this morning after my AC had stopped working. Within 2 hours they had a technician at the house and the broken copper line repaired. Thanks Dean and the Stepping Stone team for getting over and fixing my issues in such a timely manner.
I was having some issues with my AC and A Stepping Stone was the company who originally installed years ago. They came out and Jose was courteous to my father who i had at the house to help and to me while i explained over the phone. We eventually found out that I had freon valve issue and Jose and his team took care of that which saved me from having to replace my whole unit. They have always been courteous and professional with me. And as a woman who can be afraid of being taken, I felt they were honest.
I have been with A Stepping Stone for 12 years and have had a wonderful relationship with them. Obviously things break during that time and when I called I received immediate service. I have replaced 2 AC units and have service contracts and their sevice is timely and polite from the people in the office to the technical people. I have really been blessed the last number of years because Jose has been my service guy and one of the most thoughtful service people I have ever met. He is the person who does my semi-annual service and any other problems that come up. It is a pleasure to have the same person all the time. He surely knows the house better than I do.
Quick response time, quality work. Staff is always friendly and polite.
I called this company because the ac quit working and we replaced the thermostat thinking it was just old and faulty. The service tech came out said the new one was not compatible and switched it back. He then said nothing was wrong with the AC and charged us 200$. A week later water was coming through the ceiling which we are now going to have to RIP out. I was not present when the tech met with my tenant but I have a feeling he didnt even look at the ac because it had been leaking water for a while and it was obvious. This company is a bunch of crooks.
The a/c went out in my unit, and my landlord called A Stepping Stone to come out and take a look at the a/c. I never write reviews, but with the outstanding service Dean provided I had to make an exception. Dean is very professional, friendly, respectful, and knowledgeable about the job he does. He answered all the questions I asked, not just a simple yes or no answer or the standard answer you might get, he gave thorough answers to the questions I asked. Dean worked quickly to get the a/c up and running, and before I could break into a morning sweat, cold air was flowing from the vents. A Stepping Stone has an all-star on their team. From beginning to end I had a great experience, and I highly recommend using A Stepping Stone AC & Heating,
They came out 3 times (just take your money)
I would definitely recommend this business to any and everyone after the service i got from raefeal he was very knowledgeable about his job and very professional he needs a raise he made my day and week hell he made the rest of the year enjoyable because he actually fixed my ac after it was down for 2 weeks!!!!he is amazing!!!!ask for raefeal he puts care into his work!!!!! Very satisfied customer
We will never have them back. They were not honest about thier charges and then gave us a quote that was not accurate as well. When we told them enough and called to get other quotes, (after $400 and quoting us an additional $500+ for a new A/C unit) we found referrals from friends that were upfront about their costs and more honest with what we could expect. We were highly disappointed with their customer service. Fortunately, our referral has been in business for a great amount of time, servicing a freind of ours for 20 years, and willing to do the work for much less. In a nutshell, they lost our business for this job and all else in the future.
I called Stepping Stone about an a/c not working for a small 2 bedroom rental house not working. They told me that I needed a new compressor for $3000 and that I should invest in a new unit for $5100 and charged me $75.00 for the service call. I turned to work friends to recommend an honest person for a second opinion. The person they recommended charged me $200 to replace a part that causes the compressor to kick on and the $200 included the service call. I had to buy a small window unit for my tenant because it took several days after they lied to me to have the honest a/c person fix the unit. Stepping Stone wasted my time and money and caused my tenant to not have adequate a/c for a week due to their lies.
We moved into a new house and the Builder had used the Stepping stone company to install Lennox and first month AC unit stopped working. The on call technician came couldnot find the problem as the room was not cooling. Next day superviser comes and They replaced Freon and it worked for few weeks. This is a brand new unit. They were called couple of times during the year and they kept replacing Freon without diagnostics to find why Freon is leaking. Now we are way more than year out and still leaking Freon. Instead of owning up to the defective unit or to fix the problem, they want you to pay to come do diagnosis which they should have done during the warranty period. Will be going to FloridaDepartment of Consumer services. We did not pay for defective product.
Jose B came to our house to fix our AC. He was very knowledgable and his customer service skills exceeded my expectations.I would definitely recommended a stepping stone AC and heating to my friends and family, thank You Jose for everything you did today. We are more than satisfied with your service & you showed us how much you enjoy what you do!! 😀👏🏼💯✅
Jose from Stepping Stone is AWESOME! He is always on time and offers friendly service. It is good to know that our family has trust in Jose for our AC & Heating home needs. Would highly recommend.
Showed up on time was very knowledgeable and was friendly. Good Job ! You got my business
Mis diagnosed my AC problem Would not make it righ to many AC companies out here to deal with this one beware🥵🥵🥵
Good Company to deal with just, need slight imporvemtn which everyone always have more room for that.
Great Service! Jose was extremely thorough and offered tips for maintaining a heat pump here in Florida! Would definitely use their services again if needed!
They installed my system in my new home and left off a clamp for the drain, allowing it to sag. It backed up and filled the pan, cut off system and I had to drain the pan (10 feet up) myself with a shop vac and multiple trips up and down the ladder. They later fixed that. Then I later called them out to balance, they checked system according to paperwork, but a month later, another full pan. For this they fixed a cracked line that was not found during the checked system trip and charged me $95. Told me to take it up with my builder since out of warranty now. 6 weeks later, full pan! Called them for yet anther visit and was told labor is only guaranteed for 30 days and it would cost me another $95 dollars. NOPE!, Ill find someone else and warn my friends that are building a home in my development about this. The least they could have done is a courtesy visit to see if they were the ones that missed something, again they have people in the area installing systems. Back up the ladder for me to drain the pan again while I wait for my new HVAC company.
I have used them twice to repair my AC issues. They are fast to respond. Always do quality work. Very polite.
Small Company, needs more service techs. The company is running the only 3 techs ragged. And don’t purchase anything Lennox. Nothing but headaches. To the owner, absolutely. Find my file, you can call me anytime.
Sadly there is not an option for zero stars. We have home that the builder used this company to install the a/c 3 years ago. We had continual issues with the a/c not cooling our master bedroom properly. They came out on several occasions and never did anything to correct the problem. Our builder warranty ran out so unfortunately we are stuck with this problem. On another note my son rents a townhouse built by the same builder so guess what...A/C installed by same company. The a/c stopped blowing cool 2 days after the one year warranty ran out. The owner closed on this brand new townhouse on May 30, 2018 and the a/c went out on June 2, 2019. When we called A Stepping Stone since they installed it and it was only one year old, they immediately said unit was out of warranty period. This was the first problem. A decent and reputable company would take into consideration that it was only a couple of days out of builder warranty. To add insult to injury, they scheduled with my son to come out yesterday, June 3,2019 between 12-4pm. It was 90 degrees in the house so my son told them AND CONFIRMED with them TWICE that they needed to call him when they were en route because it was TOO HOT to stay in the house. Well at almost 3:30pm still no call so my son called them only to find out they were running behind. He understood given that he knew they were busy. He confirmed with them again that he NEEDED TO KNOW when they were enroute so he could get there to meet them. Another several hours passed and my son called at around 6:30pm and was told by after hours attendant that they would send a notification to the technician. About 10 minutes later we received a call from the service manager stating he was at the house and asked where my son was. My son told him that they were instructed and it was CONFIRMED that the service technician was to call prior to arrival due to the fact that no one could wait inside a home that was 90 degrees! My son was 15 minutes away but the technician told him that he couldnt wait. WHAT A JOKE!!! My son patiently waited ALL DAY understanding that they are very busy. He took the day off of work and then was told by the service manager that arrived over 2 and a half hours AFTER the 12-4 window that he wouldnt wait 15 minutes for my son to meet him there. If he had called like was instructed AND CONFIRMED several times (not hard to make a quick call while driving to the next appointment) this wouldnt have wasted everyones time. My son then called company back and was told again no one could come and they said technician claimed he did call. Well he DID NOT CALL (phone with ringer on, no missed calls and in his pocket)and if he had called as he claimed then why would he just show up knowing that no one would be there. Not sure who dropped the ball whether it was lack of communication from the office to the technician or if it was neglect on the technicians part. So you would think that since they screwed up that they would see to it that the issue was corrected first thing this morning (June 4,2019)...Nope not a chance. My son was told that the schedule was already booked for the morning and he would have to wait again! So now he is waiting again stuck in the 12-4 window again taking another day off of work again waiting and hoping that they actually follow instructions and call while enroute. I dont know of any person that would sit and wait in 90 degrees for a repairman to come. Common sense would say to call customer prior to arrival. There are too many good and reputable companies out there. Will definitely not give this company any future business.
We have been doing business with A Stepping Stone A/C for about 14 years now. We bought our unit from them and was under warranty for 10 years and we also purchase the annual service agreement. They have always come out promptly. There have been times when there have been little issues but A Stepping Stone has done whatever they could to fix the issue once they were told about them. No one is perfect people; you just have to speak up when there is a problem.
Terrible service . Took them 5 days to come out, they cancelled the day they were suppose to come . Then said he fixed it ..... did not fix the problem and charged for a annual service appoint that we did not need it was just done 3 months ago . Go elsewhere !!!on top of not fixing our unit
If I could give them 0 stars, I would. We had 2 air conditioner units go out at the same time. We were told by them that we could take a piece out of one and put it in the other and it would work longer, but we still needed to buy 1 new unit. We spent over $7000 doing this. They sent out unlicensed technicians to do the job. We asked them to leave the old broken unit so we could use the parts. Their fix lasted 3 days and then it blew again. They disposed of out old unit which had the brand new piece that blew (another $700). When I called the owner, he never returned my calls. This company is a bunch of unlicensed thieves!!!
I have had A Steeping Stone service my AC since I purchased my place in Florida. Just had my 6 month check up done by Aaron who also did it the last time. Very professional, did a great job!
Today Aaron our service tech came by to do our 6 month service. We have used your company since we moved here in 2014.Our experience to date has been excellent and appreciate dealing with a professionally run company.James Martin12634 Fontana LoopLakewood Ranch
Been using a stepping stone for about 10 years now I only let them work on my ac units. There very honest and I love how they work many thanks
