Was staying in the area and finished what I was reading, so I searched for a local comic shop. I went in and had a few authors I liked and asked for recommendations. The owner was super knowledgeable and happy to help me pick out a bunch of stuff. Was awesome to hang out in there and talk. I’d like to even see if they can Mail me some stuff in the future, just because they seem to live what they do, and I want to support this awesome business. Of been in there all the time if I was local.

Not only did the owner help us choose the right comics, he totally geeked out and was genuinely excited to talk about them. He was knowledgeable, pleasant, and enthusiastic. I only wish I lived closer, I’d be there every week. Will definitely be stopping in whenever in the north country! Highly recommend!

Paul and Donna are great people. Ive been getting my comics and supplies as well as many other related items from them for more than 25 years. Theyre the best.

In all my years, Ive visited many comic book stores, but none of their inventory stock, prop displays, and comic event advertisements could compare to this ones! If you come upstate to Plattsburgh, this is the first place Id recommend you visit!

The only true comics store within 50 miles with both knowledgeable and truly committed owners who are the staff! Theyre both welcoming and a part of the local community for nearly a half century!!!Considering that one of the largest international (Diamond Comics) distribution centers is only a few miles away, I am often surprised at how much work and effort Fantastic Planet has to devote to fulfilling their customers orders. But they do it gladly and without being asked!!Over the past decade Paul and Donna have been exemplary models of what a comics store owner should be. Theyre both fan and intellectual nerd as well as business oriented which is not what I could say of some comic publishers and distributors!!They truly have gone that extra length of customer service over and over again!!

Hands down the best comic shop in town. I was very surprised to see the variety of titles for the size of the shop. My rating is biased comparing Fantastic Planet to Third Eye Comics in Annapolis MD. Steve at Third Eye is an anomaly of comic information but not to worry the owners of Fantastic Planet know their craft. The greatest asset any comic shop has is its staff. The owners of Fantastic Planet just want you to enjoy what your reading. Support a great local business and check this place out.

I love the selection. And though I couldnt find something I wanted at first. The owners gave me a few pointers and some space to let me discover it on my own.

Fantastic store. I have been reading comics since I learned how, and have recently been introduced during my fiance, and her son. Everyone there has been very helpful with finding, and introducing comics. Its very nicely organized so you can find what youre looking for very easily, and there is a board of the newest issues which makes it very easy for a collector to know own what they are looking for.

A nice place to get Comics with a friendly and knowledgeable staff. Downside is that there is not a selection of back issues just mainly newer stuff.

There are many wonderful comics on sale here, both old and new releases. the staff are friendly and all comics are laid out in a way that makes it very easy to find whatever it is you are looking for

Although I dont live in Plattsburgh anymore, I always try and make an effort to visit this shop when I am in town. I have shopped there since it first opened downtown in the Riverview building over 20 years ago. The staff is super knowledgable and friendly. This is the kind of shop that you can take your kids to, and is friendly to everyone else too. If you are just looking to start reading comics or if you are an avid collector make an effort to talk to the guy who is usually working, hes a super cool dude. An added bonus to me at least is Fantastic Planet owned by a woman, a real rarity for this retail sector. This is one of my favorite comic shops anywhere, and I have been to shops all over Europe and Japan. Not so huge that it is overwhelming, not so small that you feel you are being stared at the whole time.
